The other side of the Shabana Azmi complaint. What happens to anyone who rents to people of a certain community.
Ghaziabad: An engineer who owned the south Delhi house where Friday's shootout between the police and suspected terrorists took place has been suspended, but on charges unrelated to the crime.

Mohsin Nisar, who owns the fourth floor of the L 18 flat in Jamia Nagar, is an executive engineer with Public Works Department (PWD) of the Uttar Pradesh government. He was posted in Ghaziabad.

Official sources in the PWD said he was suspended in the wake of lapses allegedly found in some construction work he had supervised.

However, sources in Lucknow said the government suspended the engineer on the day it was known that suspected terrorists were hiding in his Delhi house.

Nisar had said he had no idea to whom his house had been rented out by his steno, Abdur Rehman.
The real cost of the Dhimmi Commie-Pakis' rationalizing terrorism is borne of course by innocents. Even if they are only a minority among the minority.

So, for those born since the 1980s, especially in these states, communal conflagration and the toxic propaganda that accompanies it must have been a constant background as they grew up. The fact that the Muslim community in the country is generally more afflicted with poverty, unemployment and lack of education would also contribute to youths being more susceptible to calls by fundamentalists for revenge.

Several experts feel that in order to fight terrorism, apart from efficient policing, there is dire need to address the economic backwardness rampant within the minority communities, especially Muslims. The Sachar Committee too had highlighted the conditions of the Muslim community in India and called for remedial action. Others have also argued that there is need to open a struggle against the fundamentalist forces within religious communities too.
Improvement of the conditions of Muslims can only occur when Muslims want to join rather than segregate and live in separate dar- ul Islams. There is definiite Muslim resistance to secular schooling for Muslim girls. . The fact that Hindu girls too are discouraged is not an excuse for Muslim girls to be kept away.

Note the blind spot that our intellctuals have

There are more poor and unemployed Hindus that Muslims in India. How come they are not setting off bombs. Why ignore the elephant in the room - Islam and its standard set of grievances against the Unislamic?

I find it interesting that the prime accused in the blasts case used the alias or nom de guerre of Atif. Wasn't that OBL's #3 who bought the big one in Afghanistan? If that is true then these folks are Al Q inspired and not just ISI stooges.

"The militant Muslim is the person cutting the head of the infidel while the moderate Muslim holds the victims feet".

DR M. SABIESKI (PROFESSOR OF PHILOSOPHY)

Remember this guy is a moderate muslim and see how he is doing his job of holding the feet of infidel Hindus.

The intent behind the terror attacks

Yoginder Sikand

As in the case of many previous deadly blasts across India over the past decade or so, there is much speculation about the real masterminds behind the recent blasts in New Delhi. Depending essentially on who you are -- which these days has largely come to mean for many people which religious community one identifies with -- the monsters behind the carnage could possibly be disgruntled Muslims or Islamist terrorists (for many Hindus) or Hindutva militants (according to many Muslims).
In the wake of the Delhi [Images] blasts, the media and intelligence agencies have been quick to blame the banned Students Islamic Movement of India or what is claimed to be its new avatar, the Indian Mujahideen [Images].

I have no doubt that SIMI'S [Images] radical rhetoric is inherently conducive to mindless militancy and that, therefore, there is a possibility of former SIMI members having been behind some of the blasts that have rocked India in recent years. In its vacuous call for a global caliphate and fiery appeals for armed jihad, SIMI sought to imitate -- lock, stock and barrel -- radical Islamists like the Takfir wal Hijrah in Egypt [Images], Hizb ut-Tahrir in Central Asia and al-Mohajirun in England [Images], all of which depart from centuries of classical Islamic tradition and preach a form of hate-driven Islamism that is akin to fascism and is viscerally hostile to other religions and their adherents.

For Muslims in India, living as an increasingly beleaguered minority, SIMI's rhetoric was entirely counter-productive, inherently dangerous and an open invitation for aggressive Hindu reaction and State repression. Which explains why SIMI never received mass support among the Muslims, not even among the ulema or Islamic clerics, many of who considered its political stance completely unwarranted even in Islamic terms. Some of them even believed that SIMI was outside the pale of Islam.

Based simply on its ideology, one could conclude that it is entirely possible that some SIMI activists or sympathisers could have indeed been behind some of the recent blasts. Besides, it is also possible that some of these blasts could be the handiwork of some other Muslims, incensed by the brutality of the State, witnessed most starkly in the violence in Gujarat in 2002, as a way of seeking revenge.

This does not mean that these elements speak for Indian Muslims as a whole, however. To the contrary, Muslim leaders I have spoken to and whose statements I have read (mainly in the Urdu press, because most other papers simply ignore their voices) have repeatedly stressed -- and are also doing so now, in the wake of the Delhi blasts -- that if, as is being alleged, SIMI activists or some other Muslims were behind these, stern action -- even capital punishment -- should be meted out to them.

They say the bomb blasts in which innocents die is not only against the Indian law, it is also in complete violation of Islam. They readily quote the Quran as announcing that so heinous is the sin of killing a single innocent individual that it is akin to slaying the whole of humankind.

If indeed some of the blasts were the handiwork of Muslims, they argue, far from serving the cause of their faith and their co-religionists, they have only made things much worse for them. They say such attacks heighten anti-Muslim prejudice, provoke indiscriminate arrests of Muslim youth, strengthen the hands of those calling for tougher anti-terrorist laws which, as in the case of the dreaded Prevention of Terrorism [Images] Act, will probably be used to further terrorise Muslims, and provide additional ammunition to Hindutva forces in their anti-Muslim crusade.

No Muslim, they argue, should engage in such acts of terror, for not only would this be a crime according to the country's laws and Quranic commandments, it would also be entirely counter-productive from the Muslim point of view. That, based on my own reading of the Muslim press and my interaction with my Muslim friends, seems to be the generally prevailing Muslim opinion.

Just as some fringe radical Islamist outfit or Muslims incensed at the slaughter of Muslims by Hindutva mobs, often in connivance with the police and the state administration, might well be behind some of the bomb attacks, so could Hindutva activists. In fact, such blasts and the mounting communal divide that they engineer appear to eminently serve the political agenda of Hindu fascist forces, whose entire politics is based on provoking anti-Muslim hatred and violence.

Although this has received little media attention and even less serious action by the police and investigating agencies, in recent years a number of Hindutva activists have been found to have been involved in manufacturing bombs and planning terror attacks, sometimes with the intention of camouflaging them in such a way as to make them appear as the handiwork of Muslims.
The intention behind this is clear: To reinforce already widespread anti-Muslim hatred, manufacture a collective terror psychosis among Hindus, present themselves as saviours of the Hindus in the face of 'Islamic terrorism' and, thereby, capture the Hindu vote-bank. {Iti Sidham}And with crucial elections round the corner, could it be that this tactic might be brought into play to supplement waves of organised attacks on Muslims (and now Christians) in various parts of India in order to garner Hindu votes?

Deadly enemies though they present themselves as, Hindu and Muslim chauvinists desperately need each other. Without each other they are incomplete, indeed unable to survive. That is what this series of blasts, as well as the entire history of Hindu and Muslim communalism, clearly suggests. {IMO moderate Muslims are more dangerous then fundoos}
So, going beyond the issue of tracking down the masterminds behind specific cases of terrorism, which, of course, must be done in accordance with the law, the larger issue of struggling against the tyranny of organised religion and of the ideology of communalism, of which these attacks are merely a symptom and a result, must not be lost sight of.
And part of that struggle must also entail honestly recognising how personal religio-communal affiliations often blind people to the forces of terror at work within the community they identify with. In the face of competing, but entirely symbiotic, forms of terror under a religious garb, we all need to draw our own personal lessons as well for how to respond to the challenge, hopefully unburdened by one's communal identity.

Mine, incidentally, is borrowed from Baba Nanak, considered a guru by his Hindu followers and a Sufi Pir by his Muslim disciples, who discovered and then boldly announced: 'There is no Hindu, there is no Muslim'.

Dr Yoginder Sikand is the editor of Qalandar, an electronic magazine on Islam-related issues, and also an author of several books on the subject.

This story has a comprehensive picture of the blasts.

Terror Fund Trail leads to Eastern UP

Terror fund trail tracked to eastern UP: Police
22 Sep, 2008, 0708 hrs IST,Rahul Tripathi, TNN

Mohd Saif: Son of a local UP politician. He enrolled in an English-speaking course in Jamia Millia Islamia University. He is also part of the Ahmedabad terror module.

NEW DELHI: With the arrest of three more Indian Mujahideen-SIMI operatives for the September 13 Delhi blasts, the police said the group's "mastermind" Atif Ameen alias Bashir, had planned to deliver another deadly blow by carrying out 20 bombings in the business district of Nehru Place.

The three were arrested a day after the Delhi Police's special cell claimed they had unravelled the IM-SIMI network, with Pakistan's Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) leader Abu Al Kama — whose hand was also seen in the October 29, 2005, Diwali-eve serial blasts — emerging as a key collaborator. The linkages have led the police to say that LeT provided help to SIMI-IM in the UP court blasts. The role of HuJI in that attack is being probed as well.

This three-outfit alliance is now seen to be behind Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Varanasi, Hyderabad and Faizabad blasts, police said. Cooperation between LeT, HUJI and other jihadi groups is not a new development as their leaders often share operatives. While earlier SIMI provided foot soldiers, the need to "indigenize" terrorism saw the outfit moving to the forefront.

The interrogation of Zia, the son of Abdur Rehman, caretaker of the shootout flat L-18 in Batla House area, Mohammed Shakeel, an MA student living in Sangam Vihar and Saquib Nisar, a contact between Zia and Atif, has revealed that the IM leader was keen on striking at Nehru Place soon. It seemed to underline the confidence of the IM-SIMI group — reflected in the taunts in its emails — that it could avoid capture despite arrests in the Ahmedabad bomb case.

The three said that they did not leave Delhi after the blasts as Atif convinced them to stay put. They further said Atif used to work out minute details of attacks, right from timing to sites. His associates were given information only on a need-to-know basis.

Atif, who like many others involved in the IM-SIMI operations, hails from Azamgarh in eastern UP, was determined to carry on with his "war" against India and was apparently confident of procuring and assembling the explosives needed to carry out his next terror venture. Along with other bombers, he has come across as revelling in the destruction and death caused by IM-SIMI.

Police forces from neighbouring states joined Delhi Police in the probe, sharing intelligence on these outfits. Joint CP Karnal Singh said, "We have been sharing intelligence in the past but now we have alerted the police from all the states about the module and their operation network so that they can be busted soon. The trail of funds from eastern UP has also been provided and action is expected soon."

H G S Dhaliwal, DCP South, said that the three were arrested from Jamia Nagar on Sunday morning after suspicions were aroused during the questioning of Zia (22) who helped Atif in getting the rented accommodation at Batla House for Rs 7,000. "Zia claimed he knew Mohsin Nisar, the owner of the house which did not seem correct. It made us doubt his version. Later, he disclosed his involvement in the blasts. He revealed the name of Saquib and Shakeel, after which the two were also arrested," said Dhaliwal.

THE CONSPIRATORS

The three — Zia-ur-Rehman, Mohammad Shakeel and Saquib Nisar were jointly interrogated and revealed that they were involved in the September 13 blasts in Delhi. They further revealed involvement in the July 27 Ahmedabad serial blasts.

So far, the police said Shakeel had emerged as the man who indoctrinated youths for jihad. A final year student of MA (economics), he was responsible for planting a bomb near Gaffar Market. He took an autorickshaw from Paharganj. Bombs were kept in a pressure cooker which was placed in a bag. Pressure cookers were used in the Mumbai 7/11 and UP blasts as well. Shakeel also revealed that he had been to Ahmedabad along with Atif and planted cycle bombs in Maninagar area, which is part of chief minister Narendra Modi's constituency.

He enjoyed the confidance of Atif and was allowed to go alone to plant the bomb at Gaffar Market while others went in twos. He also returned to his Sangam Vihar house on the day of the incident while others stayed at L-18 house. Shakeel told police that Atif had received Rs 50,000 from someone in UP and gave them Rs 1,500 each for expenses.

Shakeel's elder brother is a part-time MBA and works with his father at their mechanical printing press in Tuglaqabad and is married, with a two-year-old son while his younger brother is a call centre employee. The police also seized an old edition of a weekly news magazine which had blasts as the cover story.

Abdur Rehman was the caretaker of the house (L-18). His son Zia, who was a student of BA (III year) at Jamia University and had also done O level computer course, came in contact with Atif through Saquib four years ago. According to Dhaliwal, Zia was the main logistics provider for Atif, and planted bombs at Central Park in Connaught Place. He carried the bombs in double-layered polythene and covered it with banana peels to make it appear like a garbage packet. He put the poly bag in a garbage bin.

Saquib Nisar is an MBA distance learning student from Sikkim Manipal University. He had also worked in a job recruitment company at Nehru Place. He could not go to plant a bomb on September 13 as he noticed some defect in the explosive, the police said.

TECH SAVVY MASTERMIND ATIF

The three revealed that Atif had done BSc (IT) from IACM institute in Ghazibad and had a sharp mind for technology. Atif used to direct movements of the module. Atif was also in touch with several other people, including a "highly-educated" person who used to write emails for the group and sent them from hacked wi-fi accounts in Mumbai. Cops have zeroed in on a cyber expert in Mumbai who was hired for the job and he will be arrested soon.

Police said that Atif, Shakeel and Saquib had also conducted a recce of the September 13 blast sites, a day before. The three further told police that Atif used to say the blasts should be carried out in the evening, when more people are on the roads, so that maximum lives could be claimed. A newspaper without a blast story used to disappoint Atif, said police.

WANTED TO BE 'MOST WANTED'

In another development, the arrested militant Saif disclosed that he along with Atif had gone to Varanasi where he planted a bomb at Godowlia market. Police also retrieved pictures of the terrorist from their laptops with 'India's most wanted, and 'most wanted' tags.

Karnal Singh said, "The arrested militants were also involved in other blasts including Delhi. Their interrogation revealed this. Now they are being taken to Karnataka from where the module brought the explosive material. It was Saif who along with Shadab (absconding), procured these explosives."

Atif, along with Saif, Malik, Junaid, Shadab and some others, had gone to Varanasi, a day before the serial blasts there in March 2006 for a recce. All five planted bombs at three different places. Junaid and Shadab planted bombs at the railway station, Atif and Saif took planted explosives at Godowlia market while Malik along with another man kept bombs at Sankat Mochan temple.

MEMORY STICK FOUND

The police have also seized memory sticks which have been retrieved from their laptops. These have information of the Indian Mujahideen's Gujarat module and cops are examining the same as they suspect more details about those blasts may emerge. The morphed pictures were seized from another memory stick.
It looks like a bunch of alienated folks formed the IM group and set up links with LeT and HuJi of Bangladesh. The odd thing is all the blasts can be linked to these core trio. And it took the police this long to get them. They were flamboyant yet couldn't be caught? Total break down of special branch people.

I wonder where Haywood fits in this. Was he their controller?

Riots and anti muslim /anti anyone pogroms like we saw in Gujarat , like what happened with Sikhs in Delhi in 1984 and what we are seeing now in Karnataka (there were policemen outside the Church near Jayanagar BDA complex yesterday, come on.. this is not a scene we are used to in Bangalore) are serious blot and an intolerable assault on India and Indian citizens.

Hate DOES beget hate. Let us not forget that. and it really doesn't matter who started it first. It sets up a dynamic itself, creates a serious pool of disaffected folks who feel a terrible range and wish to lash out in whichever way and creates a ready made pool for the Pakis and BDs to tap into for terrorism. That is a fact and the secular guys are right in pointing that out.

And talks about raising standards of living , education etc are the fundamental rights of everyone, including muslims and that is a perfectly valid in itself, devoid of any context.

Where the secular folks go off the rails is in packaging the poverty and lack of education as the "solution" to Islamic Terrorism. That is so much garbage. Look at the well known instances of terrorism. It is very nearly NEVER the poor uneducated Abdul who goes and does this , but rather the more educated, upwardly striving lower middle class. The Delhi and other city blast perpetrators were all "educated" .. some with Graduated degrees , and one a 14 year old boy! .

The guy who set himself on fire in Glasgow airport and his brother were not Madrassa types by any measure and had "advanced" degrees and were in fact far far better off than the average indian and were benefeciaries of affirmative action programs !.

In fact everyone acknowledges that the main forces behind the Pakistan movement was not the poor average muslim, but the educated Salariat who wanted a separate state and who mobilized the muslims on religious lines, even if they themselves were not religious (like the Quaid-e-Duh).

In Kashmir too, there is good reason to believe that the education, social and economic development in the post independence Sheik Abdullah regime that unleashed dynamics that released social forces and dynamics that resulted in separatism.

Education and empowerment directly does not lead to all the things the secular folks talk about. Why the Indian independence movement itself after 1857 was driven by the newly educated class with access to western education and knowledge.

The more fundamental problem is modernity itself, and how the modernizing muslim community , (it is modernizing, however slowly and unwillingly) evolves and how to shape that evolution and drive it in directions that are not self destructive and prevent it from being hijacked by fundamentalists.

18 days before the delhi blasts on 25th August 4 SIMI leaders held a meeting with US consulate official Douglas Kelly in the consulate premises for more than an hour.
All four had been members of SIMI before it was banned, after which they joined various NGO's.
The team included one doctor sahib who has worked as an advisor to SIMI in the past and another from behrampore in murshidabad.
Incidentally, the public affairs department of the US consulate which is headed by kelly has maintained contacts with numerous muslim organizations. Kelly had in fact went to murshidabad recently, investigators say, where he held meetings with local leaders in order to fund a weekly magazine. He also has contacts with a number of big businessmen from the district.
State MHA has refused to give a official confirmation but has added that investigators has been asked to carry out a thorough investigation, so that police can take effective measures if need be.
Can we have more follow-up please? Haywood might be their controller.

I would like to see confirmation of Mr. Sikand's charge that a number of Hindutva guys have been found to be involved in bomb making over the past few years. Can anyone help elaborate? also, if you have it at your disposal, how many, if any been found guilty of exploding such bombs to kill innocent civilians.

Americans have no business having a consulate in Kolkatta. They have no commerical interests there, no American citizens live there, no flights from US land there, not many Bongs go to US to earn a living ... the only reason they are sitting there is to coordinate evangelical / terrorist movements in the north east, and build contacts with Muslim community of Bengal. They should be told to pack their bags from there.

yindus have been at the receving end of hate for 13 centuries. lately the EJs have also
piled on.

we have 1 billion really angry people in India who are at the receiving end of this hate and
have a 'right' to go out and slaughter and bomb anyone to express their anger.

they also have a 'right' to enforce no-go zones, dar-ul-hindi zones, ferociously attack anyone
opposed to their beliefs and aggressively convert anyone found wandering around outside
the circle.

you have to wonder how 200 mil minorities have survived in India for 20+ centuries if
count in buddhits and jains without being totally murdered and coverted as in ALL western
lands and islamic lands.

before raising fingers at the yindu tolerance, consider in same timeframe how much
tolerance was shown in other continents by the DOMINANT religion and cultures of the
era.

ya Vina please give us a break. Please do not insult our intelligence with arguments that do not hold water. So because we should not hurt 'minority' feeling, we should not oppose conversion or should not oppose when 58 people are burnt in the train etc etc.
Btw Banglore change long ago when first soul was harvested. It changed further when many have been harvested through allurement in the last 5 years. Only thing has changed is that victim of rape is now asking for justice. If that is too shrill for you to hear, I am sorry, truth is like that.
Thanks but no thanks, I have my right to defend me, my family, my neighborhood, my city, my state, my country and my faith when under attack. If it infuriates the attacking party, tough luck, they can complain that how we are not just rolling over and dying, because we have chosen not to. If a dhimmi (even if that person works for Micknsey or is next best thing since Einstein) says that I should change my ways and let the assult continue, sorry, you should change (or maybe you already have). I have decided my soul is not up for harvest (yours might be but that is your choice) and I will resist it at personal level. I will (and read this carefully) also resist where my co-religionist soul is being harvested, you might not oppose that, you might be too beholden to their purse string or lack moral courage, we do not and we will defend our self.
And if you think this is just a loony cry of a internet nutcase, mind you, we have succeeded in the past, I 600 years of muslim rule did not wipe us out (and yes it was not because of any largesse’s on the part of religion of peace, it was because people like us fought continuously for those 600 years), neither did some 90 years of British rule changed our religion (though I see it did leave many apologist here) and also that was because we fought and WON!!
So the fight is going to continiue...

Last week went to watch this movie 'A Wednesday'. It received a standing ovation from the multiplex crowd. People are indeed getting mighty pissed off with these jihadi scumbags and this is being translated into hatred for muslims in general. This situation needs to be diffused otherwise the anger is going to spill over and then 1 billion wanting to establish their dar-ul-hindi would be one too many to handle.

They say the bomb blasts in which innocents die is not only against the Indian law, it is also in complete violation of Islam. They readily quote the Quran as announcing that so heinous is the sin of killing a single innocent individual that it is akin to slaying the whole of humankind.
LOL. I just mentioned a few weeks back this is what moderate muslims misquote to taqiya naive unbelievers in the Islamic Indic perception thread.

That is NOT meant for Muslims. The Quran quotes from the Talmud a saying for Jews. (Seen Schindlers List?). The Quran says that that was ordained for the Jews..

And the naive pseudo secularist thinks wow, Islam does mean peace.

It received a standing ovation from the multiplex crowd. People are indeed getting mighty pissed off with these jihadi scumbags and this is being translated into hatred for muslims in general.
No doubt in it....

The IMs in general are also not doing any favours to themselves by parroting the "killed pigs are innocent, we are targetted onlee" dramabaazi which is only adding to the frustration/anger...

The slow change can be seen in the reporting of the "secular" media...Things which were taboo a few months back(like visuals of IMs rioting, shouting slogans, muslim "leaders" and "secular" netas being asked tough questions) are now slowly becoming common in all the reporting...

A few more blasts and then the dam bursts(IMO).

The big problem for the INC and the UPA govt is that they let the official machinery take the political heat. Till now even though Delhi was blasting or burning, I havent heard any catergorical statement from the political leaderhsip explaining what has happened and to assure the folks that its not a rein of terror but a police action agaisnt the terrorists. It shtis abdication of communications that lets the rumor mongers amok. And the journos are already indoctrinated by JNU theology to distrust authorities and paid for by FDI in media to continue and they add fuel to the fire and cause further alienation pretending to be free and forthright a la Thapar and Goat Dutt.

By the way, I personally feel the attack on Churches in K'taka is the handiwork of Deva Gadha / kangress to pull down Yeddy Govt on some pretext or other..what do you feel?
My thoughts exactly. This church vandalism is the work of Congress goons who dissappear immediately after every attack. The modus operandi is suspicous. A dozen jokers on motorcycle arrive at a church, throw stones and then take off immediately. This is unlike Bajran Dal behavior where they do things openly and stay back to shout slogans. Even the Bajrang Dal karnataka head said in an interveiw that they have not attacked any church or vandalised any Jesus idol, but only some prayer halls of the New Life. Karnataka home minister is on record saying that attack on churches is the handiwork of its political opponents.

It was the Congress leaders which were on the sly lobbying with the US embassy to deny Modi a visa to shame BJP. Congress as it exists today is a threat to the Hindu race. In fact, Gandhism and Nehru's secularism -- the sworn ideologies of the Congress -- both are a threat to the Hindu race and an assault on everything that holds the country together.

This is with regards to Sumeet's post in previous page , about the debate held
by Barkha Dutt on NDTV.

Sumeet : Some Father there also calls SIMI as a terrorist organization.

He is not some Father,

CIB Director ( Fr.Dominic Emmanuel)

http://cibdelhi.com/cib-report.html

http://www.christianmessenger.in/interv ... 907/45.php

He is a very powerful person.

Sumeet: But he makes some ridiculous allegation that is challenged by both of Sheshadari Chari of BJP and Swapan Dasgupta.

The *ridiculus allegation* is very often repeated propaganda by Church & Dhimmi poopers - "RSS people raped Nuns in Jhabua*

The same has been repeated in various fora in US , Emmory included, just a like propogation of religion :)

Sumeet : He ( Fr.Dominic Emmanuel ) retorts by saying see this is the strategy they have made me shut up, THIS IS ANOTHER FORM OF TERROR.

He said this one Chari & DasGupta were telling him that he was wrong abt Jabhua Rape :), therefore , clearing up *misunderstanding* by poor Hindu's is *TERRORISM*

Rememeber Bharkha Dutt of NDTV did not correct him ( Fr Emmanuel ) .

Had Sheshadari Chari made similar statement , her reactions would be been entirly different.

She just laughed it off.

And Media is not changing specially NDTV, Bajrangs Dal activities only gave them a straw to hang on.

Whole SIMI terrorism is being peddled soflty by bringing Bajarang Dal and Orissa incidents.

Terrorism has been redined to support their viewpoint.

With more terrorists in net, city police solve UP blasts

Staff Reporter | New Delhi

With the arrest of more terrorists, the Delhi Police claimed to have solved the bomb blast at Sankat Mochan Mandir and other places in Uttar Pradesh. The module of Indian Mujahideen and SIMI, which carried out bomb blasts in the city a week ago, was also responsible for explosions in Varanasi and Gorakhpur. The bombs diffused in Surat were also fabricated by the IM.

Probe into the Delhi blasts has revealed that Atif, who was killed in the encounter here on Friday, had himself planted bombs at the marketplace in Varanasi on March 7, 2006, while his accomplices Malik and Junaid had placed explosives at the Sankat Mochan temple and railway station respectively.

Atif, along with his accomplices Saif and Salman, had a role in the Gorakhpur blasts in May last year where explosives were placed in milk containers.

"Atif and Saif planted bombs in the market in Varanasi, while Junaid placed the explosives at the railway station," said Karnal Singh, Joint Commissioner (Special Cell), Delhi Police.

The probe also exposed the linkages of the Delhi bombers with Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Tayyeba, he said, adding that Atif, the pointsman of Indian Mujahideen was in constant touch with Tauqeer of SIMI. Atif was very careful in concealing in his contact numbers while he was in conversation with Tauqeer. And while discussing his bomb blasts strategy with Tauqeer, he never disclosed his contact numbers. Atif knew all the details about IM, and had detailed information about its connection with HuJI, LeT and SIMI.

The details about all the operations were stored in the laptops, and it was only accessible to Atif. "We have gathered details about the funding structure of the IM, and also provided the same to police forces of other States to launch crackdown on the group. Pakistan intelligence agency, ISI, is the backbone of all the terrorist operations in the country, and all bombing modules are finalised by the ISI. In order to mask its operations in India, ISI has always been encouraging homegrown terror, and refrained from providing foreign nationals," said a senior investigating official.

The LeT has linkages with HuJI and SIMI, and the police have recovered crucial graphic evidence confirming the same.

A laptop, believed to belong to Atif, also had photographs of Tauqeer and video clips of the Ahmedabad blasts, which were sent in emails, shot off to various media organisations. "We have found some leads, which provide details about the origin of terror mails sent minutes before the bomb blasts. The timing was made very precise so that it is sent minutes before the blasts. The mechanism of emails was also maintained by Atif," added an investigating officer.

"The Delhi Police is sharing information with its counterparts in Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Rajasthan and Gujarat," added Singh.
So how was he sending those e-mails from Haywood's wifi account or was he spoofing?

Looks like Atif was the controller of this cell. He might have been a SIMIian but he was under ISI control. Al his ops are hall marks of an intel operation. Cant be just an alienated IM and do all that without training.

In a joint initiative, Indian Government agencies like the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Indian Intelligence bureau (IB) and National Technical Research organisation (NTRO) have successfully carried out tests that can track and monitor Blackberry data. These tests were carried out on the subscribers of the telcos like Reliance Communications (RCom), Vodafone, Airtel and BPL Mobile. These mobile service providers also provide Blackberry services. ... ... . . . . .

Help taking terrorism above politics: Advani to Kalam
NDTV Correspondent
Monday, September 22, 2008, (New Delhi)
Opposition leader LK Advani has written a letter to former president Dr APJ Abdul Kalam requesting him to take the initiative of elevating the issue of terrorism beyond narrow political considerations.

He said only a person of his stature can make this possible. His party and the NDA will cooperate with him.

Here is the copy of the letter-

Dear Dr. Kalamji,

I was happy to read media reports about your concern over terrorism, which has assumed such serious dimensions that it has not only gravely imperilled India's national security and national unity but also threatened the safety of the common man.

Like you and millions of ordinary citizens in the country, I am extremely concerned that an issue of such national and global importance is being ignored by a section of the political class.

Therefore, your statement has come as a great relief. It holds out a hope for building a national consensus for initiating effective measures, including stringent laws, against terror.

I feel that a person of your eminence can help in elevating the discourse on terrorism to a level where it can be discussed as a national problem requiring broad national consensus unimpaired by narrow electoral considerations.

My intention in writing this letter is to request you to lead this initiative in a manner you deem fit. I assure you the cooperation of my party and that of the National Democratic Alliance in this effort.

Jamia confirms two blasts suspects are its students

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: Jamia Millia Islamia on Monday confirmed that two of the three suspected militants arrested by the Delhi police on Sunday for alleged involvement in the Delhi serial blasts are students of the university.

“We do confirm that two of the students picked up by the police on Sunday are on the rolls of the University. On the basis of this prima facie information, the University will consider initiating disciplinary action against them,” said Vice-Chancellor Mushirul Hasan in a letter to his colleagues.

“The incidents in the neighbouring locality have caused much concern to all of us. It is a matter of satisfaction that our students have remained calm and restrained in their conduct…,” he added.

Referring to reports that the suspected militants killed in the police encounter last Friday were Jamia students, Prof. Hasan said: “The print and electronic media persisted with their disinformation campaign. Nobody from the media bothered to verify the facts from the University authorities. Nor have the police checked with me or the Proctor about the students who are on our rolls.”

On Saturday, the V-C informed Union Human Resource Development Minister Arjun Singh and senior officials in the Ministry that Jamia students had no connection with the unfortunate incidents in the Batla House locality.
‘Difficult times’

“These are, doubtless, difficult times for each one of us, but we must stand firm against the attempts to defame and malign the reputation of our University. We must maintain the secular and pluralist traditions of Jamia Millia Islamia and reiterate our commitment to the values enshrined in the Constitution and reflected in the world view of the founders of our institution,” he added.
To defend in court

Late on Monday night, Jamia Millia Islamia said it felt morally bound to defend its two students. Zia ur Rehman and Mohammad Shakeel are students of B.A. final year and M.A. final year, respectively.

“The University feels morally responsible to defend its students in a court of law until proven guilty. We will marshal our resources to provide them legal aid,” said Jamia’s media coordinator.

Jamia will hold a peace march in its neighbourhood on Wednesday.
Im unable to understand what the VC means by "the students have shown utmost calm till now"?
What did he expect them to do?

Btw, who is the $#%^, Vrinda Grover(??)?...She was on NDTV blabbering on and on about how the encounter was a fake and all the govt are evil and persecute innocent muslims like Jews in nazi Germany?

NEW DELHI: Three days after they died in a police encounter at Batla House in Jamia Nagar, south Delhi, Atif alias Bashir and Mohammed Sajid were finally buried at the Nizamuddin burial grounds on Monday night. Family members and others from the community turned up in large numbers.

The occasion was not without controversy. As soon as the bodies arrived at the burial grounds, about 150 people who had gathered there began demanding that they be sent to the burial grounds at Batla House so that more people could attend the last rites. ‘‘When a Muslim dies, it is good if the maximum number of people from his community are able to attend his burial. The police has forcibly sent the bodies here after promising they would allow a proper burial at Batla House,’’ said Mohammed Asif, former councillor of Jamia Nagar. ‘‘We will not allow this kind of ill-treatment of the dead and will ensure that the burial takes place at an appropriate place.’’

However, the families of the two were reluctant to go to Batla House at that late hour. ‘‘We had been told on Sunday that the burial would be allowed at Batla House. We had made the arrangements accordingly but the police forced us to bring the bodies here at 8.30 pm. Now that we are here, I guess we should not be shunted around again,’’ said a close family friend of Atif.

Mohammed Arshad, Sajid’s elder brother who had come from Azamgarh on Sunday, said: ‘‘Of course, we would’ve liked the bodies to be buried at Batla House but when the police handed over the bodies at the AIIMS trauma centre, they flatly refused permission, saying there could be a law and order situation there. Now that we are here, we will perform the last rites here.’’

Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid Syed Ahmed Bukhari, who was attending the burials, said that the final decision had to be taken by the families and had to be respected by all. ‘‘Had the bodies been taken to Azamgarh, the case would’ve been different as that is their own soil, but if they are being buried in Delhi, what difference does it make whether it is Batla House or Nizamuddin,’’ he said.

According to the police, while Atif was the Indian Mujahideen mastermind behind the blasts, Sajid was his close aide. However, the families of the two and many residents of the area are still insisting they were ‘‘innocent’’.

The Shahi Imam was in tune with the popular mood. He had gone to the trauma centre and then accompanied the bodies the burial ground. ‘‘I cannot understand how a 17-year-old boy, a student of 11th standard, can plot with Osama bin Laden and spread terrorism.’’ Alleging that on Friday, according to an eyewitness account, one of the boys had been shot in cold blood, he even raised doubts about how Inspector M C Sharma was killed. :-? ‘‘After all this, neither I, nor any Muslim in this country can believe the cops when they say that they were terrorists without a fair trial. This is unnecessary victimisation of our community and justice must be done,’’ he said.
The muslim "leaders" in a bid to hit the spotlight are making a mockery of themselves and only confirming general perceptions about some "community"....

truely, shooting self in the foot stuff.

Cops crack the whip, raid UP 'terror hub'
New Delhi: Police forces across the country are cracking the whip after serial blasts rocked India in the recent months. With the blasts probe gathering pace, the Delhi Police raided Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh.

According to the police all the alleged terrorists who were killed or picked up during Friday’s encounter in the Capital hail from Azamgarh district.

The police conducted raids at the houses of terror suspects Saif and Sajjid in Sanjarpur village in Azamgarh. The area has been cordoned off and police has beefed up security in the village.

Police questioned about six persons including two doctors – Dr Fakre Alam and Dr Javed along with his son and one of his nephews. The police also visited houses of four youths and collected photo albums and CDs from there.

The team had also brought one person to the village. However, the identity of the person was not known as he was masked.

SP of Azamgarh, Ramit Sharma, told CNN-IBN, “Six people were questioned on Tuesday in connection with the Delhi blasts probe. No detentions have been made so far. It was a joint operation of the Delhi Police and UP Police.”

The joint operation conducted by Delhi and UP Police began early on Tuesday morning.

The raids at Sanjarpur village follows Friday's killing of two alleged terrorists in an encounter in Jamia Nagar, south Delhi.

The small eastern Uttar Pradesh town seems to be fast emerging as a new terror hub and is allegedly home to a large number of SIMI activists.

The Gujarat serial blasts mastermind Abul Basher, Atif, who was killed in the Delhi encounter and Saif, who was arrested, all hail from the Sanjarpur locality in Azamgarh.

Meanwhile, Abdul Rehman, father of suspected terrorist Zia-ur-Rehman and arrested in connection with the serial blasts in the Capital, on Monday approached a city court seeking bail.

Abdul was arrested on Sunday from south Delhi's Jamia Nagar area for his alleged involvement in the five blasts on September 13 that killed 24 people and injured over 100.

He was the caretaker of the L-18 Batla House premises where suspected terrorists Atif and Sajid were gunned down by Delhi Police on Friday.

He was booked for criminal conspiracy and forgery and sent to 14-day judicial custody on Sunday.

Delhi Police teams have also been sent to Karnataka to unearth terror links.

Take these entire lot out and put a bullet in their heads -- immediate peace for the rest of us onlee.

This is the "coordination committee of Indian muslims"...they must be working very hard to coordinate the next terrorist attack by Indian muslims on Indians. Just disgusting how they denigrate the sacrifice of a brave police officer --thoo.

The list of these worthies includes a rep. of the Ahl-e-hadees.....ummm...how "moderately islamic"

What is the "Ambedkar Samaj Party" doing in this list?
Mujtaba Farooq, Convenor, Coordination Committee & Secretary, Jamaat-e Islami Hind
Dr Zafarul-Islam Khan, President, All India Muslim Majlis-e Mushawarat
Ml. Abdul Hameed Nomani, Acting General Secretary, Jamiat Ulama-e Hind
Ml. Abdul Wahab Khilji, Asstt General Secretary, All India Milli Council
Ml. Mahmoodul Hasan, President, Jamiat Ahl-e Hadees, Delhi Pradesh
Dr Taslim Rahmani, President, Muslim Political Council
Ml. Zeeshan Hidayati, Chairman, Majlis-e Fikr-o Amal
Irfanullah Khan, Chairman, Jamia Nagar Coordination Committee
Ml. Jalal Haidar Naqvi, Secretary, Majlis-e Ulama-e Islam
Supported by Gopal Rai, Conenor, Teesra Swandheemta Andolan
Bhai Tej Singh, President, Ambedkar Samaj Party
Of course, it is the hindus and jains exploding bombs from Kashmir to Kanyakumari.
We also demand stringent action including immediate ban against HIndutva terrorist outfits, especially VHP, Bajrang Dal, Shri Ram Sena, Hindu Munnani, Hindu Jagran Manch, Yuva Hindu Vahini, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti and Durga Vahini etc, which are targeting Muslim and Christian communities in a number of states.
These muslims are all terrorist-loving scum -- period, if they do the "open fly, torn shirt" argument when the very credibility of their voices is at stake.

Azamgarh: Den of terror or victim of backwardness?
23 Sep 2008, 0037 hrs IST, Manjari Mishra & Binay Singh,TNN

http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/arti ... 515282.cms

Another article that blames it on backwardness of area. I feel like asking these guys having self-pity if they have heard about Kalahandi and Bolangir district of Orissa. Those places are so poor that since last 10 years there has been no child has been born there because of starvation the mothers suffer miscarriage before they can deliver. And yet those folks don't resort to violence out of self-pity. There are poor and struggling communities everywhere in India it's not just the abduls.

Why is there so much sympathy for Terrorists in Muslim community. After all the SOB's were accused of blowing up people all over the country.
There is so much sympathy for Terrorists and Inspector Sharma probably shot himself dead.
And then they whine that People don't trust their community.
I hate to say this but surely , I will be part of the cheering squad when next time, bad things happen in Jama Masjid area of Old Delhi.

You missed the actual gem, Rye.
We demand that whenever police undertakes a combing or search operation in any Muslim locality, at least one third of the raiding force must consist of officers belonging to the minority community, and minority elders of the affected area should be taken into confidence and made part of the enquiry and interrogation teams.
These worthies want quota in police searching and raiding. Now that would make India, I guess, truly secular.

Now the jihadi Mulayam Singh Yadav speaks out -- apparently the fact that his party has been directly connected to the latest terrorist act in New Delhi does not seem to faze this vermin Mulayam. His SP needs to be tagged as a terrorist group and barred from participating in elections.
