Hnair ji,Oakleys are a very good brand of ballistic goggles so it should be able to stop spent cartridge cases from damaging your eyes. You can also check out Oakley website and note the specifications of the make of your particular goggles. It should clear all the doubts.Any half decent ballistic goggles should be able to stop spent cartridge cases since their velocity is very less.Do not test it by yourself though.Your contributions are very valuable to this forum.“The story behind my ESS goggles is as follows… On 07 April 2003, 1430hrs vic. Baghdad (obj. MOE), our vehicle took a direct hit from an overlooked RPG team to our left flank, destroying our TOW missile launcher and my Bradley commander’s hatch. I was hit in my neck, left shoulder and face with shrapnel, but thanks to my ESS goggles, my eyesight is still intact and no shrapnel penetrated my ESS goggle lenses at all. These goggles still have the shrapnel in the lens! I fought through the shrapnel and continued to bring the fight to the enemy. I believe that if the shrapnel would have hit my eyes that would have taken me and my crew out of a serious and historical fight that helped in the fall of the Saddam regime. Thank You Very Much for your wonderful product! I'm a believer in your product, protecting eyes ONE BATTLE AT A TIME.”

Well a Pakistani terrorist trained by ISI with a Chinese copy of an Israeli "shoot around the corner" gun with invisible laser marker and guided by GPS can take these guys out any minute and it would give me more confidence to see our SPG like Arnold Schwarzenegger in that movie. I will fill the name of the movie in later - but you know what I mean. Why can't we learn from the real experts?Raja Bose wrote:So now we have graduated from scooter helmet![]()

These SPG guys (some of them seem to be the same good fellas from a year back) are counter assault onlee - they are not meant to blend in, they are meant to intimidate. And as for helmets, unlike sooper-dooper assault kamandu types who go in and out like khan mijjile in paki musharraf, these fellas have long stretches of duty when they have to be 400% alert - helmet is heavy, cumbersome, limited use (if they get shot in the head at close quarters not too much can save them) and reduces awareness. Have some trust in them to decide what they need or don't need (same goes for comments on MARCOS pics) - they have everything they need (unlike the NSG![]()
).
SPG gets freebies from different vendors as a marketing ploy. The idea is to get the SPG to adopt their product as the standard arms, and then leverage it for much bigger and profitable sales to other forces (like NSG, military spec ops forces, regular officers, police forces, etc). It is a win-win for both sides as long as it runs honestly.nachiket wrote:I have a different![]()
onlee! Why are only those soldiers tasked with protecting the gobermund's musharraf provided such top notch equipment. Bliss to compare SPG pics with those of NSG during 26/11.
Could be. But the equipment in the pictures (including the earlier ones) appears too standardized for such a possibility.ParGha wrote:

SPG like all similar units has a team of people to do evaluation - do you seriously think they are going to equip themselves with one-off freebies on dutyParGha wrote: SPG gets freebies from different vendors as a marketing ploy. There are two Rustom's. Rustom-I and Rustom-H. The image you posted is that of Rustom-H.Dmurphy wrote:^^^Thats Rustom? Pardon my ignorance, but whatever happened to its bulge in the front and big tail the back ?
No sorry, there aren't any images of SU-30MKI with DRDO LGB's. I thought you meant cluster bombs.abhik wrote: No, I meant an picture of an IAF MKI carrying for example LGBs, something like the dozens of pictures of Jags, LCAs and Mirages.Something like this
I've seen such Sumo vehicles a lot in J&K, mostly in VVIP cavalcades. Except for the antennas, they are unmarked.
I don't have enough resolution on my phone to confirm whether it is a Uzi or not, but Uzis have long been in limited service with the Paras. Please see BR picture gallery for a 10 Para(?) unit where a Carl Gustav operator is also carrying a Uzi as backup.vaibhav.n wrote:Do not know if this pic has been seen before, but isnt the SF guy on the extreme right holding a silenced Uzi, looks to have a MARS sight on it too...have not seen too many Uzi's in IA duty.
It may very well be, but I notice a vertical forward grip, just behind the silencer. IMVHO, Uzi doesn't have one. Please do correct if I am wrongBala Vignesh wrote:vaibhavji...
That indeed looks like an uzi... And uzi is even listed in the equipments page of the indian army in BR...

Are they army men for sure? the jawan on the extreme left is carrying a Tavor, which could mean they're RR.vaibhav.n wrote:Do not know if this pic has been seen before, but isnt the SF guy on the extreme right holding a silenced Uzi, looks to have a MARS sight on it too...have not seen too many Uzi's in IA duty.
As far as i Know its Army SF operators that rotate through RR units that carry Tavors.. RR units on their own dont have TAVORs. Army SF operates in Kashmir as stand Alone units as well as elements of RR Cdo units. Are they army men for sure? the jawan on the extreme left is carrying a Tavor, which could mean they're RR.
