Sheeesh! Thirty minutes into this tripe and I felt embarassed for that beknighted nation. What a crass display of uselessness and over the top, chinese-era nationalism. That 90-year old chacha-pakistani should be given a nishan-e-something or one of those mass produced medals that pakis dole out and put out to pasture.

^^^ No, it was all a conspiracy by the RAA, CIA, Mossad, MI6, (name your agency),... who sabotaged the rise of Pakistan as a software development destination of choice in South Asia. :)

Pa'astan at risk of global emergency

* Health workers failed to eradicate polio virus
* Balochistan, KP, FATA at highest risk
* Lock the doors, send away the children, batten the hatches and hide the silver.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) said that the global polio emergency situation may arise in Pakistan within three months if health workers fail to improve their performance in eradicating polio virus from the country, particularly from Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) where virus was still being detected in children.
Pakistan was among the three countries behind Nigeria and Afghanistan that had failed to achieve its set target for the eradication of poliovirus even in the year 2011.
The “global polio emergency” will be declared in Pakistan if performance regarding eradicating poliovirus did not improve within three months. “It will tarnish the image of the country because global emergency means there will be complete travelling restriction for Pakistani people across the globe

The quam is so demoralized that despite attempts to get roaring 'Zindabads', the response is so tepid. Also, a bunch of inane 'inshallahs'. The anchor is whining about the Indians (who are having a blast dancing and singing) of not obliging her demands of turning off the music (doesn't it seem similar to other things like ... Kashmir, Siachen, Sir Creek, Indus waters etc. etc.) :(( .

At 31:00, a Baki does the whole hog of 'RAA, Mossad, CIA, MI6 blah, blah ... wanting to break this country .... and we have to strengthen them', with the stupid anchor going 'Inshallah'

At 34:00, the Baki TV anchor dude goes on and on about all the things Pakistan has .... mountains, rivers, glaciers, talented abduls, honest :?: folks, faithfools etc. etc. and make the reference that India cannot compete with them because they have 'Iman'. I wish this dude had seen his fellow anchor on another channel describing in great detail how even Bangladesh has left them in the dust.
Thanks for the summary. I could survive only the first 7 minutes. This sounds like an "establishment strikes back" propagandu program. The next best thing to a military coup based on India threat.

I saw some glimpses here and there but in the introduction the anchorette bows lowest and longest while introducing her boss who also makes the most jihadi sounds while sitting on his own musharraf.

This hike in the Indian defence budget is certainly a food for thought for our analysts who eagerly engage themselves in propaganda campaign against Pakistan’s defence budget. Pakistan does not want to indulge in an arms race, but India’s military preparations cannot be ignored, especially when it is busy stirring trouble wherever it can, particularly in Baluchistan, to which it was given access by the USA through Afghanistan. Thus if Pakistan was to increase its defence expenditure this year, it would be by compulsion and not by choice.
OK baba! you want to increase your budget, go ahead. Compulsion or Choice or whatever! Who is stopping you?
It is pathetic to see this Air Commodore simply transferring the blame to US for which he shows no evidence and indirectly asking US to pay for those toys!

Surprised no one has posted about the power riots in Pakjab:

‘Powerless’ rule the streets

Power riots hit industrial towns: petrol pump set ablaze by angry protesters
Power outages have paralysed life in the industrial cities, halting business and commercial activities.

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has accused federal government of treating Punjab like a stepmother

Protesters, carrying sticks, burnt tyres on roads in different cities, damaged properties, smashed windows of vehicles, burnt electricity bills and chanted slogans against the government and Pakistan Electric Power Company (Pepco).

Policemen at station level do not have orders of taking action against miscreants and have been told to patrol the streets.

Brussels, March 24 (IANS) Nearly 30,000 Afghanis and 15,000 Pakistanis have applied for asylum in the European Union (EU) in 2011, the EU's statistical office said.

A total of 301,000 people had applied for EU asylum, of whom 90 percent were new applicants and about 10 percent were repeat applicants, the Eurostat said Friday.

The main countries of citizenship of these applicants were Afghanistan (28,000), Russia (18,200), Pakistan (15,700), Iraq (15,200 ) and Serbia (13,900), EuAsiaNews reported.

The highest number of applicants was registered in France (56,300 applicants), followed by Germany (53,300) and Italy (34,100). Britain received 26,400 applications.

Thousands of people have been displaced in Pakistan and Afghanistan plagued by insurgency and terrorism that has threatened peace and stability in the region.
There are already 1000s of Afghans in Delhi. They seem to have congregated in the Muslim areas before Select City Walk Mall, in Saket. You see them everywhere now. Batra Hospital seems to be serving only Afghans.

WKKism in full flow.
For economy’s sake: Can India and Pakistan forgive and forget?
The occasion was the third Indian Council of World Affairs-Association of Asian Scholars (ICWA-AAS ) Asian Relations Conference on “Transforming South Asia: Imperatives for Action”. The two day deliberation was marked by the spirit of camaraderie and an open and frank discussion on how to bring the nations of the South Asian Association of Regional Cooperation (SAARC) together on a single economic platform. The idea was to see if the region could be able to replicate the European Union model. :rotfl:
Can democratic India demonstrate this broadness of vision? Can it try to understand the pain of a neighbour that wants to free itself from the prisons of the past? Can India stop putting Islamabad on the defensive by raising the same old issue of jihadi organisations and cross border terrorism? South Asia’s economic integration depends greatly on the answers to those questions.

US offered advanced warnings, limits for drone strikes: Report
WASHINGTON: With bilateral ties plummeting and the container-bearing truck lines getting longer at Pakistan’s closed border with Afghanistan, the US had offered Pakistan concessions over its drone programme that spreads into Pakistan’s tribal regions, the Associated Press reported on Monday.

The report claimed that CIA Director David Petraeus, who met with then-ISI chief, Lt. Gen. Ahmed Shuja Pasha at a meeting in London in January, offered to give Pakistan advance notice of CIA drone strikes against targets on its territory.

The CIA chief also offered to subject the strikes to new limits on the types of targets hit, said a senior US intelligence official briefed on the meetings. Large groups of armed men men would no longer be deemed actionable — a “signature” strike categorisation where CIA targeters deemed certain groups and behaviour as clear militant activity.

Pasha, following the tone most recently set by the Pakistani parliament, refused. He maintained that Pakistan will no longer tolerate independent US action on its territory by CIA drones, two Pakistani officials said.
All the officials spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss the sensitive negotiations.

This show tells us that the breakaway threat of Sindhudesh and Balochistan are serious enough and the establishment is looking at it that way and trying to show them the reason why people came to pukistan.

The other thing this show re-affirms in us (not them) is that how India as a common enemy is mighty uniting factor. Iftikhar Ahmed who I thought was one of the sanest out there lost his cool, perhaps taken in by the prevailing environment but eventually did his paki thing of throwing mud at India.

I think the 70,000 people he saw chanting tattistan paindabutt made him join the chorus and shout also till his throat got messed up. Celebrating your existence in itself is not an issue and no one gives a hoot but everytime he spoke, he addressed others and not his own. He was justifying pukistan's existence to others as if it is under serious threat. That was a bit amusing to me.

In the past, he did quite a few interviews in his shows on controversial subjects but I never saw him bringing in India in spite attempts by interviewees.

I don't recommend watching it as there is a risk of ear damage.. people shouting "tattistan paindabutt" till the ear saturates with it.

The whole Wagah video seemed like a scripted low-budget PR exercise to build image which is the paki answer to everything. It is fascinating how consistent paki mentality is. They steadfastly refuse to take any responsibility or do any work, relying completely on marketing their "special" features like location, Islam etc. Equally fascinating how Indian side is mostly incapable of spotting this nature of pakiness.

Few weeks back I went to see this flag lowering ceremony at Wagah border and the nickel dropped. Only then I realized that Wagah is in that damned country and Attari is in India. The arrangements did not look military grade. The road from Amritsar is OK but the last mile or two is broken, dirty and dusty with hundreds of trucks lined on both sides of the road waiting for their wares to be unloaded and carted across and reloaded into waiting trucks on the other side. I was told the waiting time is in weeks - 2,3. We had to walk a half a mile or so and stand in line for half an hour. As usual there are separate lines for women and so my sisters went ahead.

The security was cursory, just somebody waved us through after a perfunctory waving of his hand held wand. I had more rigorous security checks at the airports and other tourist places. Once you are in it is difficult to see the other side as the seats are a bit far away from the gate. There were couple of PYTs in BSF uniform walking around and they participated in the ceremony too though they did not cross the gate. After watching the ceremony I have this sneaking suspicion that the whole thing is choreographed on both sides as all the movements of the men are so synchronized. May be they are talking on the phone. Both the flags come down at exactly same time.

They are building new immigration/customs facilities on the Indian side for the travellers and I dont know when they will be complete. All in all not very satisfying experience as I hardly could see the tamasha. It is better on TV. There are more peole on the Indian side than the other side and that must be the norm for this ceremony. That might explain why that Iftikar dude got upset, probably did not like the roar emanating from the Indian side drowning the mouse squeaks on his side. :rotfl:

Here is the profile of the newest RAPEtte, Nawaz's Munni:

http://www.newsweekpakistan.com/features/951
Finally stepping into politics some six months ago, it is Maryam Sharif, not her cousin Hamza or either of her brothers (who live abroad), who is now the presumed future leader of her father’s party, Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz), the second largest bloc in the National Assembly and the ruling party in the Punjab.

She’s completing her Ph.D. on post-9/11 radicalization in Pakistan...She is also skeptical about some U.S. claims: “Do you think Osama bin Laden is dead? I am not so sure.”

Yes they are infact choreographed. Both sets of guards meet in the morning to exchange the modalities for that day's ceremony so that there are no slipups . Also from time to time they change or revise the sequence of parade, body gestures etc to give a either a more aggressive or less aggressive tinge based on the prevailing politics between both countries.

As some one has suggested , we should put an end to this farce atleast on our side and replace the tall young BSF types with potbellied , pan chewing , balding types matching their yawns with the martial stomps of TFTAs on their side.

well that's a good start. looking forward to more stuff like

There is no Osama, he is a mossad cia creation (for those "pakistan first" crowd)

Osama will never be dead..he will always live in our hearts (for some islamists)

Osama is innocent, where is the proof that he did 911, it was the USA itself who did it (for CT people)

Updates on Bakistan

Karachi - 8 killed, dozens injured, over 35 vehicles torched in Karachi
Peshawar blast: Terrorists target tribal elder's house, at least 3 injured

The Wagah border program on Sama TV is such a hogwash. The Pakjabis are very passionate to keep repeating one thing and that is to say India must get it through it's head that Bakistan exists and will fight for its freedom like 65.

Bakis must know that even if they were to offer Bakistan on a silver platter we will probably humbly refuse. Having failed at virtually everything as a country, the Bakis feel proud on how they sacrificed so much to get Bakistan. Really?

I'm reminded of a famous story - a former chief minister of my state - Haryana (let us not name him) was asked by his master (teacher) during his young days (when he started studying) -

Master: "taina likhna aawa hai?" (do you know how to write?)
Haryanvi CM: "na ji" (No).
Master: "taina mitona aawa hai?" (Do you know how to wipe? - the story is from old days when slates were in use)
Haryanvi CM: "ji, dono haath se". (Yes, with both hands)
Evil laugh!

That is the story of bakis, they have never created anything. They know how to destroy and are at very good at that.

They used to say - "bat ke rahega hindustan, le ke rahenge bakistan". (they were as passionate to divide India as they were to create Bakistan.)

Please please read this
http://majorlyprofound.wordpress.com/20 ... rs-sachly/
sample "Before the world pressures Pakistan to do more against terrorism, they should realize that Pakistan itself is the biggest victim of terrorism. A key step towards reducing the influence of extremists in Pakistan is finding a solution to the Kashmir issue. Ignoring the Kashmir issue will only serve to strengthen the hands of extremists in South Asia. Without solving the Kashmir issue Pakistan will continue its strategy of strategic defiance of the U.S. to acquire strategic depth in Afghanistan, which leaves little strategic options due to Pakistan’s geostrategic location and strategic assets. A solution to the Kashmir issue will strengthen the silent majority and further marginalize the religious parties who, in any case, win less than 10% of the votes in Pakistan."

Yes, the ceremony is choreographed (see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n9y2qtaopbE&t=3m2s)

Pa'astan cut off
Balochistan shuts down against accession to Pakistan
A strike was observed in parts of Balochistan on Tuesday against accession of the province to Pakistan on March 27, 1948.
The strike...completely paralysed business and trade activities in parts of the province.
Passenger buses could not leave for Sindh and Punjab from Quetta
Baloch nationalist parties and the Baloch Students Organisation (BSO) backed the strike.
All educational institutions in Quetta, Mastung, Kalat, Naushki, Kharan, Panjgur, Washuk, Turbat, Mand, Hub, Sibi, Kacchi, Nasirabad, Jaffarabad, Khuzdar and other townships remained closed.
Most of the business centres, shops, markets and other commercial establishments in Baloch-dominated districts remained closed for the day.

The pieces are finally falling into place. Al Qaeda suspect met 9/11 figure in Pakistan
A German-Afghan man whose information prompted terrorism warnings across Europe in 2010 told a court on Tuesday he received orders from a senior al Qaeda member in Pakistan, and met a key member of the Hamburg al Qaeda cell that included three of the September 11 suicide hijackers.
Now to connect rest of the dots that lead up to the doorsteps of "non-state" actors in pakiland.

Ooncha Makan to keep eye on Lowly Phikka Pakistan
Under the garb of expanding the Embassy’s premises, according to media reports, the US diplomatic mission in Islamabad has raised the hackles of city fathers by planning to increase the elevation of its complex. Those in charge of Pakistan’s security have observed that if this happens, the US will be able to keep an eye on all important buildings in its vicinity in the federal capital. These include the presidency, the Prime Minister’s residence and secretariat, Parliament and even the headquarters of Pakistan’s premier security agency, the ISI. ( US making political /islamistesque statement to have the highest ,elevated embassy Minarets in town) The concerned quarters have, reportedly, aised the matter with the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to ask the US mission to limit the elevation of the complex to four, rather than seven storeys. Although a vigilant watch is being maintained over Islamabad through satellite and other aerial platforms, a permanent view from the rooftop of the new complex would be more ominous and round the clock.
The mission had the blueprint of its proposed construction approved on January 16, 2012, by a committee comprising CDA officials, representatives of the Planning Emergency and Disaster Management, and members nominated by the Pakistan Council of Architects and Town Planners. The surprising aspect is that the committee, responsible to analyse the architectural and structural aspects of the project, appreciated the energy-efficient design with the facilities of rainwater harvesting and sewage treatment plant, but failed to see through the ploy of placing a virtual Trojan horse in the midst of the metropolis
