Looks like some want negotiation but scums like Salim Yadav want to use it to continue their agitation to destroy India“Till any decision is taken at the general body of all the unions, it is not proper to discuss it publicly. More decisions will be taken on Wednesday,” said Darshan Pal, a member of the Samyukt Kisan Morcha (United Farmers’ Front), after the meeting of some leaders on Tuesday. Another leader of the joint front Yogendra Yadav said both formal and informal talks happened earlier also.
The apex body of the Samyukt Kisan Morcha has been expanded to nine members after inducting two special invitees — Yudhvir Singh and Joginder Singh Ugrahan — as regular members, Yadav added.
Other members of the committee include Hannan Mollah, Gurnam Singh Chaduni, Shiv Kumar Kakka, Jagjeet Dallewal, Darshan Pal, Balvir Singh Rajewal and Yogendra Yadav.
Later in the evening, the Samyukt Kisan Morcha issued a statement denying formation of a 9-member committee for talks with the government. “No such committee has been formed,” it said, terming reports in the media as “incorrect”

India Wants to Copy American Vaccines. Biden Shouldn’t Fall For It. - Howard Dean
Another Dumbocrat who preaches morals to all comes out ...
The international vaccination effort will no doubt be a topic of conversation today, when Biden meets virtually with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In fact, Modi will likely lobby Biden to support an Indian petition to the World Trade Organization that would allow member states to suspend intellectual property protections on Covid-19 vaccines and treatments.
India claims that gutting IP protections will expand poorer countries’ access to those lifesaving shots. But that’s not true—and Indian leaders know it.
India’s petition is a thinly veiled attempt to boost its drug industry. It’d undermine innovation here in the United States and hurt patients around the world for years to come. That’s why the European Union, United Kingdom, Japan, and the United States have strongly opposed this petition thus far.
Intellectual property protections, such as patents, give innovators the right to own and market their inventions for a set time. Creating a new medicine is a costly proposition. Companies would never invest hundreds of millions in research and development if rivals could simply copy their drug formulas and create knockoffs.
Far from impeding patients’ access to new drugs, IP protections encourage companies to create drugs in the first place.

Very proud of you for taking up & carrying out these challenging & substantive tasks. (& thanks for the invite to collaborate; I’d love to, just need to get over time & inertia. How do I get in touch?).
I am assuming that you guys downloaded the csv data pertaining to India at least?
What can you say about the source & quality of the raw data and the scores? What assurances does VDem offer in this regard and what is the credibility of such assurances?
One key criticism you make in the article is that the fact that circa 1998—a time of instability and chaos—emerged as a peak, makes the criteria and methodology problematic. (GIGO as you put it) I think this point could be brought out more overtly and in more detail, arguing from first principles as it were. We know why this emergent conclusion is garbage that throws the report into doubt, but does the average reader? Maybe there is scope for another article: more of an opinion / propaganda piece raising concerns about the misuse & distortion of scientific methodology to advance a racially or culturally biased agenda cloaked in objectivity, science, and so forth about which most people understand very little other than it is a desirable shiny object. (been reading shiv’s book on Aryan invasion, it’s a very useful guide for this approach. Another classic example of using “science” and “objectivity” to perpetrate racial injustice is the system of laws—based on seemingly objective criteria—crafted in US to disenfranchise blacks.).
In that vein, did you guys happen to notice any other anomalies in their comparative analysis? For example, a country ranked higher than India in a particular year having had egregious undemocratic manifestations? Or vice versa—maybe a reasonably democratic country in 1975-76 was ranked below India?

Yes I downloaded the CSV, parsed out the rows for India and applied evaluation formulae to highlight years of interest for each parameter. You can choose your data science medium of preference. They have garbage in four different formats for your convenience.
If you look at the data, you'll find that there are simply too many datapoints. Dozens of people could spend months looking at it and coming up with "holy sh*t!!" anomalies. It's all over the place. For example 'public sector scams' is relatively sane all through UPA years, and dives to a negative value in 2019 - the only time ever, and the worst by a long distance. Let's see what big theft happened in 2019 ? Oh yes, the election was stolen from RaGa, who considers the country to be his property. QED.
I appreciate your desire to dig into the 1990s, and yes the fact that it rates as the best period of Indian democratic history is like telling Americans the late 1960s to 1970s were the best time ever. Yes it was, if you were constantly high and listening to Led Zeppelin all day.

My approach was instead: this claims to be a scientific regression analysis that is data driven. So I will look at your data.
The most cutting criticism of anyone trying to delude others that their processes are scientific, is proof of fraud and pseudoscience. This is what hurts the receiving end the most.
The goal here is to push every such entity to place their data out in public for independent review. Science after all is founded upon valid data, rigorous experimental basis and reproducibility.
Re: 2021 Strategic and Political Analysis-1
Attack the data. Prove it is fudged, biased and does not dependent any valid sources.
But the morons go to lengths to create fake data ... number of attacks on minorities, fake news, lynchings. If the data data does not prove their case, they drop that item and move on to more convincing fake data that they can dig in such as their own articles.

Nice work with this article. Such types of articles are important to raise the cost for NGOs peddling a false narrative. Used to be a time when New York NGOs would blatantly write B is A and Down is Up. The internet put a stop to that in the 2000s.
Re: 2021 Strategic and Political Analysis-1
The biggest fraud they have perpetrated is that they are trying to make it appear as if it is scientific, when it is everything but. None of their defined parameters make any sense. An undergraduate student will do a better job at defining these parameters than these worthies. If any of us did this level of work at our work place, we would be out on the street. And this is not even looking at the the validity of the data itself... It is quackery and self delusion of the highest order dressed up to appear as intellectual work.Suraj wrote:

Re: 2021 Strategic and Political Analysis-1
Correct. This is where scaling up amplifying a simple message will get dividends. Look at the Aryan Invasion nonsense, where they just use the word "genetics" to spread research done by the universally-renouned AEM (an-al-e-extraction) scientific process. The real weakness of these neo-colonial, white, racist, "liberal" method is that their entire edifice depends on the ignorance of the audience, which they have managed to keep pretty stupid. So pointing out the obvious is the remedy to this mendacity and the stupidity that it depends on. All us keyboard warriors need to amplify the message and be prepared to deal with the resulting questioning from their close circle. Convince that closed circle and there is a chance that you have outsourced convincing others who are not in your circle. Basing such convincing on scientific methods closes out the gap for the readymade "this is all unscientific nonsense" made by people who wouldn't know science if it bit them in the gluteus, but who are prepared to make judgements on what Indians should think and feel.Tanaji: The biggest fraud they have perpetrated is that they are trying to make it appear as if it is scientific, when it is everything but. Re: 2021 Strategic and Political Analysis-1
The important thing to do to fight an adversary these days is to see how they manage to spread their message effectively. We have a lot of "western" Indian minds who have been programmed to behave like white people when they are not. So these people need to have their fancy-shmancy "liberandu" views dismantled by bombarding them with contradictions. "colonialism" is an artefact of the mind, and a result of mental training. Unless you show an alternative, the "training" is king.
Re: 2021 Strategic and Political Analysis-1
Important thing to remember is that you push the message until the adversary is demolished. Nothing less than the tiger's eye will do. hubris is your worst enemy.

This extreme political correct wokeness actually aids erasing all the crimes against humanity committed by white christians, while these same people dump on the catholic church, hindus, sanatana dharma, and christian symbols (but not the crimes of the islamiats). But the question we need to ask ourselves is which group of people are enabled by the whitewashing of the genocides committed by christians and "abrahamics".
Why did the current "pope" of vatican find it necessary to be in Iraq to consolidate the support of "abrahamics" (jews+christians+muslims) at this time? What does this event mean to people fighting to defend sanatana dharma? Always think of the universe from your own view, not from the view of people who you have been taught as authorities. Be a "punk" to find your own mind.

Sorry I can't do all the leg work alone. I need others stepping up to look at data and for more incriminating detail. As demonstrated, responses can be both emotional and it can be coldly rational looking at the data and independently deconstructing it, but the latter takes substantial effort.KLNMurthy wrote:Are there any "money quotes" in the report that support this?
I have a clean copy of the CSVs in case they modify it on the sly - I will md5sum the versions regularly to track anything that's been changed without notice.
The approach itself is superficially interesting. However it has far too many drawbacks:
1. There's simply too many variables. There are 1820 columns in the core version. Several but not all variables have min/max/sd cols, but that's still too much. Too many variables makes the intent of the overall index value just too noisy.
2. The amount of subjectivity and various kinds of bias (especially recency bias - I'm not even talking of political bias) around just a few parameters is too high, and across so many, the amount of noise makes the entire dataset basically unusable.
3. The top level classification tiers are bogus. LD/ED/EA/CA is a strange way to classify things. The top 2 countries have restrictions on mosques, ban burqas and are anti immigrant.
I can see their goal - try to make an actual science out of political science. Maybe associate cool words like 'data science' and 'machine learning' with it, win funding and eyeballs. They are doomed to fail. It's simply not possible - you can't have a repeatable data driven approach to what is fundamentally a subjective field.
Here's an interesting concluding takeaway: the Participatory Democracy Index for Nazy Germany was 0.037 (through 1944) . The Emergency period in India was 0.227 . The year 2019 in India was 0.278 . Yes you read that right - Pratap Bhanu Mehta's "data" shows that present day India was worse than when Auschwitz-Birkenau, Treblinka, Dachau etc were all belching smoke and fumes 24/7 under the rule of a small-mustached fellow. In fact the data says the Emergency was worse than Nazi Germany by some distance. The highest index measure India has ever achieved under this measure (0.499 in 1998 when the Deve Gowda-Gujral-Vajpayee musical chairs was on) is less than what Germany achieved while under Allied occupation in 1949 (0.557) before they had any elections. In fact, participatory democracy in 2019 in India is way worse than Romania under Ceaucescu in the 1980s. If you want to look It up, the parameter is v2x_partipdem.
Oh yes, the Mudi shud rejine.

A day after TOI reported that mathematics and physics at Class XII-level had been made optional for admission to engineering courses, the All-India Council for Technical Education chairperson on Friday clarified that the changes were not binding on institutions.
CHENNAI: A day after TOI reported that mathematics and physics at Class XII-level had been made optional for admission to engineering courses, the All-India Council for Technical Education chairperson on Friday clarified that the changes were not binding on institutions.
Hours later, the AICTE withdrew its approval process handbook (APH) for 2021-22, which had the new eligibility criteria. AICTE chairperson Anil Sahasrabudhe said the new guidelines were futuristic and in keeping with the vision of the National Education Policy-2020.
Physics, chemistry and maths would continue to be important subjects in engineering courses, but students would have the option to study biotechnology, textile or agriculture engineering through bridge courses. These guidelines were not compulsory, Sahasrabudhe said.
By afternoon, the AICTE website carried a ticker: “It is to inform all concerned that APH 2021-22 has been withdrawn for a short period and to be placed again on the AICTE website within a day or two”.
By nighttime, the announcement read: “It is to inform all concerned that APH 2021-22 has been withdrawn for a typographical corrections and it will be placed again on the AICTE website within a day or two.”
The AICTE move had drawn wide protests, and a few voices in support. Welcoming the AICTE’s decision to withdraw the new criteria, Anna University vice-chancellor M K Surappa said maths is very critical to engineering.
However, Sandeep Sancheti, former vice chancellor of SRM Institute of Science and Technology in Chennai, said, “In principle, making Class XII-level maths and physics optional for engineering admissions is a good move. It will keep the entry open for someone who wants to correct his or her path.”

3. As our engineering is more theoretical , math is required and " thus the universities will provide suitable bridge courses such as mathematics , physics , etc for the student coming from diverse background to achieve desired learning outcomes of the program "
4. So can a student having 10th std mathematics funda , with help of bridge courses in mathematics still grasp the nuisance of engineering mathematics ??

A good part of HR's economy relies on Gurgaon and its service sector, by implementing 75% reservation in private companies, the state has all but ensured that new investments will either go to other states or other countries. I hope other states will attract new investors or help existing companies relocate from HR to other states. 75 yrs after independence when we should be planning to dismantle reservations in jobs and education and prepare our workforce for a globalized world, we are shooting ourselves in the foot by expanding reservation. Vaze has good political clout so it is not immediately apparent what is happening here. Did Motabhai lean on someone? I doubt it as even Vaze is small fry compared to the rarefied levels Motabhai operates in... but it is to be noted that this is NIA arresting and the timing of arrest is intended to send a message.
I expect the morons of Shiv Sena to make it a marathi manoos issue soon

sachin vaze bhaiya, kuch karne se pehle sochna tha humare bhaiyo ne bhi chudiya nahi pehen rakhi hai
the MVA is now squarely in the BJP crosshairs, with a charged-up fadnavis on fire and raring to go.
let's see which hot potato(es) padma vibushan will drop/sacrifice before he adroitly ducks out of the firing line, especially when fadnavis is firing on all cylinders and is going ln for the kill.
will vaze now turn out to be a climate change activist like disha ravi, a tribe who are the much beloved of most of our hizzonners.
and a gleeful republic teevee screen grab to remind the MVA that arnab has not forgotten.
