The warship left from Gulf of Aden at Feb 24, not now. It takes days to reach Libya. You have to try the best , but prepare the worst. The warship is for protecting the evacuation vessels, not for carrying evacuees itself. Things just work better than what Chinese government expected. The evacuation of Chinese nationals from Libya has almost completed before the warships coming. That's even better, thanks for Chinese government's great efforts, and great help from Chinese friend countries like Greece, Malta, Tunisia etc. China govenment chartered 4 cruise ships from Greek companies and 3 cruise ships from Malta and Italy companies earlier. Later it chartered more ship to expedite the evacuation. And many more chartered buses in Tunisia and Egypt. Today, China even chartered 3 Turkey planes to evacuate over 500 Chinese to Turkey. I just heard news that the evacuation of Chinese by ship is completed. The Chinese chartered ships even carried about 1000 other nationals who worked in Chinese companies and evacuated with Chinese, mainly Bangladeshis, Vietnamese, and Nepali.If China has evacuated 29,000 people. Only 4000 are left to evacuate. Why are warships going now?
All the planes are dispatched to the neighboring nations like Greece, Malta, Tunisia, where all Chinese evacuees are first carried there by ships and land vehicles, got food and some rest there first, then back home by planes. Actually China is sending way more than 43 planes in total. It was scheduled 15 flights per day originally. Now the numbers increased since the government can allot more planes there. The Chinese Air Force just dispatched 4 military airplnes to Malta and Tunisia today. So the evacuees can come home even earlier.What are those 43 planes doing if the Chinese are all going to Greece by ferry. Something does not gel in the propagandu filled news posted above.
Chinese evacuated via Crete
(ANA-MPA) -- Roughly 13,000 Chinese working in Libya will return to their country via Crete, following a request by the Chinese government to Greece and Italy for the evacuation of nearly 40,000 Chinese nationals, workers and business people, stranded in the strife-torn North African country.
According to reports, Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou has contacted the regional governor of Crete and requested the best possible accommodations and support services for the Chinese nationals. (ANA-MPA)
The evacuees are expected to arrive on the large southern Aegean island on Thursday and will be staying in local hotels until they are flown back to China aboard chartered planes that will take off from the airports of Irakleio and Hania. (ANA-MPA)

I agree with some of the posters that we need to add Taiwan. Also it might help Tibet's GDP/Export numbers if you include the GDP/Export data of South Tibet aka Aruncha Predesh as well. I think it is unfaily included in India's GDP/Export numbers. Sorry India, your GDP number gonna suck after TE deduct the number out of South Tibet aka Aruncha Predesh. I trust Aksai Chin GDP/Export data are already included in Xinjiang, if not you need to include that. Wouldn't be fair to Xinjiang if we do it for Tibet.
Since you are at it, may as well include the data for Shenkaku/Diayou Tai Islands. This should bump up Fujian number but not by much. Every little thing counts. Oh oh, there is no argument here, Spratly Islands, Paracel Island and the whole South China Seas the EEZ of China, now that should really really help Hainan Island. On the other hand, should those SCS properties be a separate province altogether, seem unfair to give it all to Hainan Island, there are big enough.
I still think Mongolia should be part of China, the Chinese map look funny without Mongolia as it looks like someone has taken a big bite of a pie. Oh well, this will be a different topic some other time.
Before I forget, can we include Nepal and Bhutan? I think these two properties fit well with China's portfolio. Really, if you ask any ordinary Nepalise (Moaist) and Bhuthanese, they would have no problem joining China.

BEIJING, March 3 (Xinhua) -- A total of 35,860 Chinese citizens had been evacuated from Libya as of 11:10 p.m. Wednesday Beijing Time, Vice Chinese Foreign Minister Song Tao told the press here Wednesday.
This means all Chinese who desired to go back and whose whereabouts were known by the foreign ministry have been evacuated from Libya, said Song.
It was the largest and the most complicated overseas evacuation ever conducted by the Chinese government since the People's Republic of China was founded on Oct. 1, 1949, he said.
These accomplishments, achieved in no more than ten days, are attributed to cooperation across all related ministries, local authorities, military as well many Chinese enterprises, he said.
He also gives credit to China's peaceful foreign policy, which makes China a popular country in the community of nations.
He expressed thanks to all the help and support provided by a number of countries over the past several days, and noted that China has also helped 12 countries to evacuate about 2,100 of their citizens, living up to its international humanitarian responsibility.
Among those who had been been taken out of Libya, 20,745 returned to their homeland, said Song.
As soon as the situation demands action, the Chinese government established a task force, headed by Vice Premier Zhang Dejiang, to ensure effective evacuation of all the stranded Chinese, including those from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.
When the first chartered plane took off from Beijing last Wednesday, an all-out effort made by the Chinese government to bring all of its citizens back to home from danger and chaos by air, land or sea, was put into gear.
Throughout the evacuation, countries like Greece, Malta, Egypt, Tunisia, Turkey and Jordan have kindly offered their help in either providing transportation or facilitating temporary shelter.
China's enterprises investing in Libya like China Communications Construction Group as well as China Railway Construction Corporation have also contributed a lot to organizing an effective withdrawal.

Another railway line between Kashgar and Hotan, which is near the western section of India's disputed border with China, has also opened to cargo traffic and will begin ferrying passengers by June this year, reports in the State media said.
China will embark on a 10-year 310-billion yuan ($47.6 billion) project to add 8,000 km of railways in Xinjiang in the next Five-Year Plan (2011-15), stretching across 90 per cent of its counties. Six airports will also be built.
Officials at the on-going annual session of the National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislative body, have said the next plan would focus on accelerating infrastructure projects in western China, which has lagged behind the east on most development indicators. The top political advisory body, the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), has called for a “bring prosperity to border areas” campaign in the next plan.
In recent days, top officials, including President and Communist Party General Secretary Hu Jintao, have stressed the need for “leapfrog development” to bring stability to Tibet and Xinjiang, which have both seen recent ethnic unrest. In March 2008, riots broke out in Tibet and neighbouring provinces with Tibetan populations, while ethnic violence in Xinjiang between the local Uighurs and Han Chinese left at least 197 people dead in July 2009. In the lead-up to the third anniversary of the March 14 violence in Tibet, the Chinese government has tightened security, and also increased restrictions on foreign tourists travelling to the region this month.
“Meticulous efforts must be paid to the tasks of reform, development and stability to boost leapfrog development and maintain perennial stability in Tibet,” Mr. Hu told a meeting of NPC delegates from Tibet on Sunday.
A rail link between Golmud, in northwestern Qinghai province which neighbours Tibet, and Korla in Xinjiang will be the first of the railway projects. Luo Yulin, Vice-Governor of Qinghai, said on Sunday construction of the 5.1-billion yuan ($ 784 million) line would start this year. When completed, it would reduce the journey between Lhasa and Urumqi by 1,000 km.
“The new railway line will play a significant role in boosting the economic development in the country's western regions and promoting exchanges among different ethnic groups,” he told the official Xinhua news agency.
Officials say the new railway lines will boost economic development in the far west. There are, however, concerns among many locals in both Xinjiang and Tibet that the added connectivity will also bring greater migration into the region from other Chinese provinces, seen as an underlying cause for unrest.
The newly-completed line from Kashgar, on China's western border, to the mining centre of Hotan, will accelerate extraction of mineral resources, with an annual freight capacity of 15 million tonnes.
This rail link will also allow the military forces and supplies of Xianjing to reach the Tibetan theater of operations far quicker than it is possible. Also it provides an additional redundancy. Rising India, a collection of essays on Indian studies by Professor Ma Jiali, was released Thursday at the Culture Wing of the Embassy of India in Beijing. Indian Ambassador to China Dr. S. Jaishankar and Chinese dignitaries graced the event.
The 245-page book presents a comprehensive look at India, including the country's economy, technology, politics, society, military affairs, and security. It also features India's diplomatic policies, particularly Sino-Indian ties and ties with other countries, as well as the nation's culture and people.
Ambassador Jaishankar praised Ma as a balanced and sober analyst on India.
"The book's focus on India's rise makes it considerably valuable. There are few examples in world history of the simultaneous rise of two large economies. Managing this process is a complicated challenge, which requires the sound understanding of each other's interests and careful handling," Jaishankar said.
Ma is a senior researcher on South Asian security and China-India relations at the China Institute of Contemporary International Relations. He has also been a key delegate at China-India bilateral discussions on security issues and is a member of China-India Eminent Persons' Group Forum (EPG).
"India and China are two neighboring fast-growing economies, however, economic figures alone are not sufficient to strengthen bilateral ties and promote regional and global interests. I hope my book can help more Chinese people understand India better," said Ma.
Last December during Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao's visit to New Delhi, China and India issued a joint communiqué declaring 2011 the "Year of China-India Exchange". Rising India is the first book on Sino-Indian relations to be published in China during this landmark year. The Cultural Wing of the Indian Embassy plans to organize more activities in the coming months to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Chinese-Indian diplomatic ties.
