white pakis' zero-loss streak in successive WCs now coming to a close...unless frantic calls are made to bookies in Doobai and krachi betting huge sums on an ozland win. The bookies will then ensure the paki pakis doob and krash only, just like they managed so spectacularly in the NZ match.

If Pak beat Aus , Group A : 1.Pak 2. SL 3. Aus 4. NZ
If IND beat WI , Group B : 1. SA 2. IND 3. Eng 4. WI
If WI beat IND , Group B : 1. SA 2. WI 3. IND 4. ENG

Looks like IND will play SL , Sehwag may not be fit for next match. :(( :(( :((

The pitch is very slow and the ball is stopping. Anything can happen.

If white Pakis win, we will face NZ in QF (provided TI defeats WI) and if real Pakis win, then we have to face white Pakis in the QF.

They looked like Nehra spraying the ball. Ponting provided three slips and they kept pitching at least 2 balls on middle and leg; and out of remaining four, one was close to wide. Then he send in one close ball with good line and length.

Looks like the Paquis are world Cup favourites for now, If I were there teamand fans I would start celebrating with late night parties.

They need a NZ type game in the QF.

On the other hand, with the SA vs BD match, India through to QF. SO no Dhoti Shivering until March 23 atleast :D

So, we meet white Pakis in the QF provided we win against Windies if not we have to face SL.

its better to lose tomorrow and face SL than meet the Aus in QF. somehow we always manage better against SL without ugly collapses.

Don't be so sure. link

I'm feeling cocky and want to go one up on the pakis and knock the gora pakis out of the world cup in the quarters.

I can never stop DiSCo till the last ball bowled in the WC,(of course this is true only if TI is active). So, please don't assume we can't do that.. also it helps keep this thread core basics in tact. :((

On the flip side, it will separate the men from the boys
I have watched a few matches in Chepauk, including the last day when Ind-Aus tied the test match; there is lot of energy in general, but the home-pitch advantage is hyped one. Considering the amount of cricket the guys (note the use of guys instead of boys) play these days, I don't see a very big boost. Cricket is different today, so no point in picking Ashwin for the sake of him being from Chennai. I do not see any added benefit.

There is no short cut, men have to pass through the "boyhood" phase. Looks like he is very tall :-) In India, players have to be prodigies, sooper-di-dooper excellent or have full backing of captain and selectors. Otherwise they are one innings or two match wonders/failures.

Ya'lla, in most likelyhood we will be playing white-PAwkis in the quarters!

Oh mere pyare groundsmen, prepare a slow, low track that will offer zerrow assistance to the pace bowlers and we should be through. Prior to the match the Indians should make media statements about how the Aussies can't handle slow and low turning tracks and how rooted to the crease they are when playing quality spin.

Tait looks a bit off colour, hopefully he will breakdown after Sehwag carts his first ball to the boundrystan.

Since the PAwkis haven't played in the IPL, they haven't had a good look at Ashwin, if we meet the Pawkis at all then Ashwin should play onlee.

My ICC chaiwala says that Dhoni will bat at no 3 tomorrow and score a century onlee

So Say Whack has developed allergic reaction to a pain killer jab. Mmm.. not nice there.

Futhan will play, and Raina can be in, while GG and gawd are now the new openers. Now, it looks like nakra will be taken off for ashwin.

What is good about ashwin is, he can bat as well. I guess he started his kirikut career as an opening batsman, and then became a pace bowler before he tried his spin.

There were a whole buncha dravidian prics who were applauding that oiseaule on his 194 with a runner when I was there. Thankfully, someone broke that pigsty record. I hear even during the SRT's famous knock, there were calls for "sportsmanship". As MacArthur would say, sportsmanship is for losers. And so is, the game comes first.

OT and Long Story,

Gist of Long story, British rented land from Chenna Mudalaiar, it used to bew called Chennai Thope and which became Chennai Nagaram and then Chennai Managaram in Tamil, hence Tamil name Chennai was adopted in 1996.

Protugese around 5Km away from the British set up a Chruch in Santhome Called St. Madre- Deus. Hence, the BRitish called it Madras.
