Re: The Cricket Thread
Well, whatta perfect setting for Messr Dhoni only.
Win or lose he can always spin the result 1 way or another. If win, then we needed the win momentum going into the knockout stage' thing and if lose then 'better playing SL than Oz in QF' type fake-chankian rationale.
Wah re duniya.

Re: The Cricket Thread
The disconnect goes further deeper than just some mistaken sportsmanship. Will get into the realms of psycho-analyzing tams and their deep takleefs that are just hidden from the surface. Sooner than later, some sociological and piskological issues will arise going all the way back to the brit days. Suffice to say that there is something seriously rotten and covered up in layers and layers of random nonsense. But then things are rotten everywhere else too, if not in this direction, elsewhere. So why bother.Marten wrote: Stan: I still have memories of being enraged when the crowd stood up and clapped when SRT got out and the Pacquis won.
Re: The Cricket Thread
Back to regular Kirkit diss&cussing
at Eden garden Zimbabwe have set Kenya a target of 309 runs, Kenya is already 10/2
all these excitement on Holi with empty stand onlee ground staff in attendance
meanwhile at Chennai TI will bat first(yipee) Raina and Aswin in for Saythwak and Nehra
once again Kirkit gurus are proving themselves correct here at BRF.
almost forgot
Kaikokroackmarrey and Gayle find this match unworthy of their presence.

Raina & Ashwin in. No Gayle, No Roach, No Chawla, No Nehra. I'll stop supporting Team India if they lose today.

Re: The Cricket Thread
India wants to play Oz and WI wants to play SL in the next round. It looks to be a mutual understanding.

Pak vs Eng ... The Clash of the Paquis !!!
Re: The Cricket Thread
Can't agree more, it appreciated good kirkit always. Irrespective of who played itMarten wrote:Chennai is not a home ground for TI. It has a "secular" crowd that consistently cheers for "visiting" teams. Having watched a match there, I can say at least 75% of the crowd thinks it is the right thing to do.

Re: The Cricket Thread
oh damn! SRT departs TI 8/1 in 6balls
but but Umpire was shaking his head as not out still Gawd walks away, why for?
they already fixed match or what?

Exactly what I thought. He was shaking his head and then gave out? WTH!!!niran wrote:oh damn! SRT departs TI 8/1 in 6balls

BTW, after all the talk of Chennani cheering other teams, it was nice to see so many people, especially youth, with TI's blue dress there. The cheer was loud as hell after national anthem too, and the silence pindrop after SRT was given out.
Re: The Cricket Thread
GG is living dangerously Suluben is hell bent to make TI score big
what with bounce and turn he gets wanked all over. TI 38/1 in 6 over
this match is fixed

Fixed? for what? he knewn he was out so walked off, not like those white pakis
Re: The Cricket Thread
I think Chennai is wrongly stereotyped as a "supporter of other teams"; they enjoyed good cricket and supported good cricket. I think there is some amount of self-flagellation going on by some former Chennaites onlee
IIRC, Sachin never waited for the Umpire's decision right?

Re: The Cricket Thread
i onlee see Blue and Tricolor all over and almighty roar whenever TI strikes aboundary, maybe those camera men are not focusing the AntiTI mob?
Re: The Cricket Thread
Don't worry saar, Chennai is not anti-India. With psyo-analysis one could prove anything.
Re: The Cricket Thread
Aswin playing?
Re: The Cricket Thread
GG departs, TI in serious chance for below 150 score
yes Aswin in
yes Aswin in

Definitely not a former. And definitely will never be a Chennai-ite. I am from Madras.SwamyG wrote: former Chennaites

Yeaaa....deal with it whether you want it or not they call it Chennai
I am the only dork in my family along with real oldies who still call it Madras, all the younger generation are now used to Chennai. Cho sad onlee.

Re: The Cricket Thread
I think Chennai crowd loves their cricket. They will cheer even for SL or Pak players if they do well in the game. It is not anti India but in a positive way. It is much better to be this way than be like Dalladeshis and throw stones at the opposition because their team is crap.

AAh! a Madrasi from Chennai.Stan_Savljevic wrote: Definitely not a former. And definitely will never be a Chennai-ite. I am from Madras.

Re: The Cricket Thread
Looks like both teams want to get out of Madras and start making plans for their respective QFs. Look at their hurry.
Re: The Cricket Thread
yuvi playing like guboraj todin.
Re: The Cricket Thread
Yuvi has been unable to pierce the field another couple of shots saved and he might commit harakiri,
meanwhile TI 89/2 in 17 overs
meanwhile TI 89/2 in 17 overs
Re: The Cricket Thread
Roach down with fever. hmmmm
Re: The Cricket Thread
Does GG play like this all the time? The moment, Sachin returns, he likes to follow soon enough
Happened last match too. Hopefully, in the QF India ensures there are no quick wickets. There should be a written policy "All batting partnerships have to last at least 40 runs. The only exceptions are the last two wickets."

Re: The Cricket Thread
Yuvi scores another fifty(yaaawn) in this worrldkup
TI 133/2 in 26 overs.
TI 133/2 in 26 overs.
Re: The Cricket Thread
why do Indian player cramp most in Indian condition? they ought to get out of their air conditioned rooms more often methink.
Re: The Cricket Thread
Like it a not, it seems to me that Yuvraj needs to stay till the 45th at least. Its not easy to hit, even Kohli felt the need to go cross batted for a crass shot. Looked as ugly and out of place as a suited booted executive getting into an abusive brawl on the street.
Re: The Cricket Thread
so AdM archan is Tony Cozier, he was saying the same thing on air.archan wrote:Like it a not, it seems to me that Yuvraj needs to stay till the 45th at least. MSD is trying his best to derail the run rate.
Re: The Cricket Thread
Was Yuvraj puking on the field? It certainly looked like that... He seems to be ill anyhow...
Re: The Cricket Thread
200 up for TI
203 / 3 in 38 overs, i wanna see the score to be over 350
and yes sir Yuvi had earlier puked most prolly Dehydration.

Re: The Cricket Thread
66 more legal balls to go TI is still stuck on 209/3
Re: The Cricket Thread
It matters only so much, getting the gallery to cheer for you. Appreciating good cricket is totally different from booing the national team or becoming anti-home. Good performance from players will always sway the crowd towards them.Marten wrote:imcho, there is a severe need for partisan cheering during a World Cup; leave the appreciation of other teams until later or for neutral matches. ps: hitcric.info is now streaming DD telecast, man it is funny - their commentary style. Hmm....more Hindi commercials than the TFTA channels.
Re: The Cricket Thread
swamy saar for DD there are onlee 4 ball to an over the first ball and last ball are lost in advertisement
yuvi on 99
yuvi on 99
Re: The Cricket Thread
yuvi score his first WC ton, now that is taken care of can we have a score of 350+?
Re: The Cricket Thread
yipee MSD stumped, but methinks it is already late.
hang him i say.
and he sends in Raina who is out of form out of match practice oh well TI is well and truly cooked
TI will play Assies in QF.

Re: The Cricket Thread
Dhoni's ugly, flat footed and slow batting is seriously becoming a roadblock anytime we need to accelerate in the end overs.
just got stumped attempting a ugly lift, after scratching around for 30 balls.
Dhoni does not merit a place in our ODI side on the strength of his batting.
