It turns out that the US administration has indeed plunged into a trade war with Kanadda.
As I said before, one hopes that Kanadda has learned some long-term lessons from the behavior of their southern neighbor, and will repair its relationship with Bharat. It remains to be seen if the new Kanaddu PM approaches Bharat sarkar correctly.
Mark Carney, the new leader of Canada’s ruling Liberal Party and the country’s next prime minister, recently pledged to “rebuild" Canada’s strained relationship with India, which reached its lowest point during Justin Trudeau’s tenure.
Before the official Liberal Party leadership race to replace Trudeau, Carney stated in an interview that if he became prime minister, he would work to diversify Canada’s trade relationships with like-minded nations.
“What Canada will be looking to do is to diversify our trading relationships with like-minded countries, and there are opportunities to rebuild the relationship with India," Carney said.
“There needs to be a shared sense of values around that commercial relationship and if I’m Prime Minister, I look forward to the opportunity to build that," he added.

Indeed it remains to be seen but IMO Carney is signaling a significant shift in Canada's trade strategy with India. This is a welcome development.. (perhaps anything better than Trudeau')
From what I know from background and recent statements/news_stories / Carney's approach is expected to be more pragmatic.. focusing on commercial opportunities. He has emphasized the importance of strengthening partnerships with "like-minded" nations, including India .
One of the key areas of focus is the Canada-India Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), which has been in negotiations for over a decade. Carney's economic expertise, honed from his experience as Governor of the Bank of Canada and the Bank of England, could be of help.
That is the same as the Pakistani desire for trade with India while supporting all types of terrorist groups.
I searched, but don't see a statement from India so far.

GoI believes actions not words. India will send a boilerplate "congratulatory message" to the new PM and will wait to see what actions this man is going to take. Trudeau came to India as if he is going to a "fancy dress" competition. Ended up rubbing the GoI the wrong way, supported farmer agitation, khalistanis, begged for Indian vax during covid, and then accused India of assassinating Canadians (who committed crimes in India). Since Carney is from the same party, his compulsions are the same as JT. Those compulsions will force him to make similar choices as JT.

And to allude to Holmes, with Kash Patel, Pannunji has been mute.
Love that name Kash Patel. Appropriate hehehe.

He just got the job yesterday. Bharat will not be in any rush to make public statements. Right now, Modi sarkar is holding a very good hand in this global poker game.

not just "sharing proof" SriKumar ji, but we need actual deportations of the khali terrorists to face justice in India since we already have so many requests for extraditions pending with them
and make no mistake, because by "rebuilding relationships", carney is actually catering to the very same khalistani lobby that turdeau cultivated, the lobby which remains influential in kaneda politics because they can simply be bought and paid for on the cheap, and the seizures of benami properties in punjab by the GoI is hitting the khalis quite badly and neither turdeau could nor carney can do anything about it
using the same crutches but by different PM, who also appears to be cut from the same ideological cloth, albeit a lot more circumspect in his speech and demeanor, it is the same game of thrones that is playing out with some minor changes in the dramatis personae.
remains to be seen if carney also has the same forked tongue that turdeau has

The new PM of Canada just moved to Canada in January. He holds three passports and describes himself as ‘European’. He’s never run for office and no one in Canada heard of him before he was installed as PM.

FWIW:
Some, like me, have heard plenty about Mark Carney, the new PM of Canada. While it's true that he's taken on the role of PM, the claim that no one in Canada had heard of him before is not entirely accurate.
(Carney has had a distinguished career, serving as the Governor of the Bank of Canada from 2008 to 2013 and later as the Governor of the Bank of England from 2013 to 2020 . His expertise in economics and finance is well-known, and he's been a prominent figure in global financial circles.
It's worth noting that Carney's appointment as PM has marked a significant shift in Canada's political landscape. As a highly respected economist, his leadership is expected to bring a fresh perspective to Canada's economic policies ).
(Regarding Mark Carney's citizenship and passports,.. He holds dual citizenship of Canada and the United Kingdom . (However, I couldn't find any reliable sources confirming that he holds three passports or describes himself as "European").
While it's true that he recently relocated to Canada, Carney was born in Fort Smith, Northwest Territories, Canada, and holds Canadian citizenship.)

Mark Carney hold citizenship of 3 countries including Ireland
His greatness, leadership skills and distinguished career are all coming from the echo chambers of Waste-rn media. He is as great of an economist as *alleged* economist of Argentina, President Javier Milei, *alleged* economist of Bangladesh, Yunus, and *alleged economist turned politician* late Shri. The federal Liberals and the Conservatives are running neck-and-neck in voter support, a new Leger online poll suggests.
The poll of Canadians’ voting intentions has both parties sitting at 37 per cent.
It shows a drop of six points for the Conservatives and a seven per cent jump for Liberals since Feb. 24, while the NDP is down two per cent to 11 per cent

While Indians are being asked to leave Canada for their "loyalty to another country", they do not have any qualms for nominating a person with citizenship of 3 countries (all white though, so all forgiven) as their PM

Whatever Carney's quality may be, it is not a surprise that he has 3 citizenships (2 in the British commonwealth and 1 in the EU). Kanadda is much more a "European" country in outlook than USA, with strong cultural and political ties to the UK and France.
The DOGE czar Musk holds citizenships of South Africa, Kanadda, and USA in that chronological order. He has not renounced the first two, while getting deep access to the US government and its assets. There is some momentum in Kanadda to potentially strip his citizenship.

Was the “election” of Carney engineered by the WEF in conjunction with Trudeau & his aligned cabinet?
Just again review the process:
-Trudeau faces caucus mutiny
-Trudeau & WEF recruit Carney
-Trudeau resigns /prorogued HOC to avoid scrutiny
-they fired Freeland to discredit her
-they eliminate other candidates
-they disqualify several hundred thousand voters
-the results announced are statistically impossible
-Carney is appointed !
Your thoughts ?
No wonder Climate change alarmists, Dhruv Rathee types of BRF, and elitist bullies who have no inkling of how current day US-Canada-Mexico dynamics has changed after Jan 20, 2025 have no clue about the damage far-left Dimowitocrats in the US and the far-left Fiberal Liberals in Canada to their respective parties.
That said, I can see myself lining up behind Rahm Emmanuel in 2028 if he were to become the nominee of DNC. (More in the Understand the US thread).
Carney talking to Bloomberg in June 2022. At 6:06 mark, he talks about Net Zero. The interview took place in Berlin.

I had never heard of Mark Carney till a few weeks ago. A few things about him:
Interestingly, he asserts the Kanaddian identity right away at 0:30...."three peoples - indigenous, british, and french". As I said before, Kanadda may share two land borders with USA, but has a totally different identity that is closely connected with Europe.
In another speech, he says the "US cannot be trusted" and "we have to take care of ourselves".
If the trade war intensifies, we may see significant re-alignments. I'll be particularly interested in Karni's outreach to Bharat.

Thanks, Sanjay ji. Nothing that you should have to apologise about. This was less than a year ago, in my short trip of couple of weeks. I was polite and just "smiled and waved" my way out of these situations. it seemed to me that it was coming from a place of ignorance, as they repeated nasty tropes about India that are out of touch with reality. Also, had a few good conversations with nicer people, all of who had friends or family from India. The ones who have more exposure outside the Canadian society seem to be chill people. Another thing that worried me that the Canadian media is too detached from reality outside Canada at least, and I feel that the average Asian/Indian is way more informed about things outside their country
Being a visitor I have the freedom to get out of there, which might not be an option for the PRs and citizens of Indian descent. I am worried for them.

as a rule of thumb public perception/attention is limited to one "evil" at a time "when you are focussed on a particular tree you tend to lose focus of the others "., a common hate unites people more so than any other, thats why politicians rake up " foreign hand" or "foreign interference" when things go sideways
and obviously the media helps to mould the narratives towards object of interest
khalistanis need to work double time to keep themselves relevant.,
recent rants of Jagmeet has been more about Trump than Modi

BTW, the Premier of Kanadda's frigid Yukon territory (YT) is ironically a guy named Ranj Pillai with ancestry from sweltering Kerala.
He is the second Indo-Kanaddian premier of a province/territory after Ujjal Dosanjh.
It seemed almost certain the Liberals would be thrashed in the next election by the Conservative Party, led by Pierre Poilievre.
Poilievre, whose style has been described as “Trump light,” had embraced the populist wing of his party, expressing support for truckers who paralyzed Ottawa with anti-vaccine protests in 2022. Among his supporters was Elon Musk.
Then Trump happened.
It's amazing how the wimp Turdwater grew balls, and even the airhead Melanie Joly has grown neurons.
The corollary is that one shouldn't dismiss Karni/Carney just yet....let us see what he is capable of (both domestically and vis-a-vis India relations).

Canada, always so polite, but apparently, not immune to election interference. Their spy service, CSIS, is warning of potential meddling by China and India (yes, India, not Pakistan or Russia, who would have thought?) in the upcoming general election on April 28. Russia and Pakistan are also potential threats, because why not?
It seems Canada's is still insisting on relations with India and China are a bit chilly right nowand CSIS is still worried. They're especially concerned about China's use of AI-enabled tools to meddle in elections. Because, you know, AI is the new frontier in election interference.
So, there you have it. Canada's election drama, starring d India as the potential villains. Who knew being polite wouldn't protect them from election interference?

Chandra Arya, perhaps the only sensible Liberal MP, has been ousted as an MP candidate for the upcoming election, over his "alleged ties to India"
Today the Globe and Mail published an article on the Liberal Party revoking my candidacy to contest in the forthcoming election.
My statement issued to the newspaper:
“As a Member of Parliament, I have engaged with numerous diplomats and heads of government, both in Canada and internationally. Not once have I sought—nor been required to seek—permission from the government to do so.
At no point did former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau or any cabinet minister raise concerns about my meetings or public statements.
The sole point of contention with the Liberal Party has been my outspoken advocacy on issues important to Hindu Canadians and my firm stance against Khalistani extremism.”
