habal..what i meant a tank irrespective of wether its open hatched/close will be targetted by TOW if its in range? does not a open hatch offer more visibility to the commander...which is imp in urban warfare... +/- of both i guess.commander is in best position to decide in a particular situation

I spoke to a commander on the ground in #Aleppo: he confirmed killed jihadists militants found better equipped than #Israeli special forces
Sources told The Sunday Standard that India had broached the issue with its ally Russia about the BRICS reconstruction package for Syria. However, Russia is said to have indicated to New Delhi to wait. Russian President Vladimir Putin met Prime Minister Narendra Modi before the BRICS Summit for the Indo-Russian Annual bilateral. Moscow has dispatched its aircraft carrier to the region.
Aleppo, one Syria’s largest and commercially thriving city, has emerged as the key battleground in the country. The city has been divided in two parts with President Bashar al-Assad’s forces dominating the west and rebels, the east. Russia has been backing the Assad government and is bombing east Aleppo to wrest control of the urban centre from the rebels.
India had thought of bringing Moscow on board for the reconstruction proposal as it has found its position convergent with Russia’s. Both have been against the ouster of Assad’s government. New Delhi is keen to bolster its relations with the countries in the region, including Syria, as most of them are also member of the Organisation of Islamic Countries (OIC). Pakistan has been able to ratchet up OIC’s support for its Kashmir rhetoric.
MoS for External Affairs M J Akbar went to Syria and met President Assad, who appreciated India’s “objective” position and asked it to play more active role in the reconstruction of the war-torn country.

look at the ISIS VBIEDs
ISIS left behind VBIEDs full of explosives without driver in Mosul.
What is your assessment of the situation in Syria?
In Syria, two parties are fighting. One is a terror group and the other is a secular regime. Terror groups are being supported by the US and their allies such as Saudi Arabia, and the secular regime is being supported by Russia, China and BRICS countries. There is no moderate opposition; there are only terror groups on the ground. When they shave their beards, they become moderate opposition, and when they grow their beards, they become terror groups. So as Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, there is no good or bad terrorism. Terrorism is terrorism. There is no way to talk to terrorists.
India has problems with Pakistan and it wants Syria’s support in OIC as it is the only group adopting resolutions and commenting on Kashmir. How will Syria balance between its two allies—India and Pakistan?
Syria shares good relations with both countries. It has a different stand in the OIC. We request India and Pakistan to talk out a solution without external intervention within the ambit of the 1972 Shimla Agreement. We are confident that Indian policy makers will resolve the issue. We are against cross-border terrorism. As our President (Bashar al Assad) said, there is no border and no country for terrorism.
OIC’s recent meeting was in Tashkent. Syria took a stand that Kashmir is an internal matter of India?
Our stand is always to find a political solution. India, Pakistan have to resolve the issue bilaterally.

Only PYD from Iraq has promised amnesty to US troops, they need a Rojava so that in case they lose the war, they will not be persecuted by International Court for war crimes by Iraqi or Syrian Govt.
British SAS soldiers are so worried about being prosecuted for war crimes they are being left behind on key missions by their gung-ho US colleagues
According to the Sunday Express, British forces are feeling increasingly reticent about missions after several SAS officers were told they are being investigated over operations in Iraq.
A source told the Sunday paper: 'The Americans are seeing a reticence that did not exist before. We have always stayed within the box, but we used to work things out as we went along.

the support ship Peter Velikiy is nuclear powered, but Kuznetsov is not. The FSU should have initiated a program to build a nuke powered aircraft carrier instead of a diesel. So that both carrier and support ship need no refuelling. A true master of the seas.

Reportedly Chechens from Idlib/Latakia have joined battle in Aleppo with Ahrar-Al-Sham/Nusra/Jaish Fath. These are the heavy horses of the cavalry, shouldering most work of the rebels.
some supposedly Chechens wear special gear costing 100K$ or more. Not even special forces uses such exotic equipment. These are designed to keep you in battle for days on end and enough fire power of 10 men.

A few hezbollah believed to have been killed by the poison/chemical gas attack by 'rebels' in Aleppo a few days ago. Reinforcements have been injected to replace those fallen with clear instructions that Aleppo should not fall, whatever be the cost.
Main location of these battles are the 1070 apartment complex.

habal wrote:The story behind the recent IS purge in Mosul which resulted in death of 800-1200 IS.
When the USA invaded Iraq they bribed the Iraqi Generals to run away.. today so many of them live in Florida and Washington. And thus Iraqi defenses crumbled so easily.. They did the same thing when IS attacked Iraq. And they tried to do the same thing with IS now but the coup plotters were fond out and executed..
here's what happened.
USA tried to do an op Iraqi freedom with ISIS but the leaders were found out and a few hundred of the plotters executed. Obama's plans to take Mosul by November went up in flames and is now buried.
And the Iraqis are acting as Mad Max now ..
Caliphate losses on fragmented data from the Kurdish, Iraqi and US sources in the order of 800-1200 dead and wounded. The prisoners were very few.
Looks like USA has fallen upon a bad phase, as a country it is in sade-saati phase and can do no right. Everything it tries flops beyond belief.
USA has never been able to extensively penetrate either Taliban, or Al Queeda or now ISIS. Which makes me feel, that they don't want to do it. In any case, ISIS seems to be Turkish SF.

The pmu threat is in response to erdogan saying that tal afar is a turkmen town and he will act if pmu fights for it which is the end goal of current pmu alaksindr type sweep up the western nineveh plains....the iraqi army div at mosul dam stands between his bashiqa base and tal afar..also further west you get the kurd orgs turn more unfriendly to turks ending at ypg in syria. ALso pkk is fighting own battle in the north mountains.. .2 of their female soldiers were executed at a cliff and video on twitter in exchange i believe they killed some 25 turkish police or soldiers yesterday. they are very hard and seasoned mountain fighters....with no real friends, the mountains are their only friends
