Folks A request please post more China news.
Most of you have smartphones and the Smart News App.
Daily five to ten stories are there.
Just click on Share and scroll to Open in browser.
Then copy the link and paste it or tweet it and post that here.

I feel we don't have enough coverage.

Well someone needs to tell that to the Chinese scholars claiming that it is India that downgraded SCO to online.

It is not India's job to tell the Emperor has no clothes.

It should be when India's reputation is at stake. The Chinese scholars are attacking India's reputation out on the media.

The video was published 31st July 23. The channel has 1.38 million subscribers. Yet the video as of 11:18 AM IST on 3rd August 23 has only 484 views.

That says more than anything the video could say.

Another channel I like to watch:

So I'm not quite sure what's going on here -- China is reneging on American bondholders who hold Chinese bonds?
How is the market tolerating this?

After Indo-Pacific and Quad the Northeast concerns for the Emperor
The hubris got the better of the Chinese. That’s driving all major powers to the opposite camp. I am referring to the arrogant statement by the Chinese last year that the Taiwan Straits wasn’t an international waterway and it belonged to China. That really set alarm bells ringing everywhere, including in India.

SSridhar, Its corruption that unravels Chinese dynasties.
It indicates the inner circle is not sure of the dynasty and is busy enriching themselves.
This leads to rebellious people suppressing them, needs resources while the taxes shrivel.
These two jaws of the Chinese People Vise crush the dynasty.
Twelve dynasties history summarized.

Direct economic loss of floods 15.8 billion Yuan
7 million affected

Lol ! Put a zero after each number from GT and may be we'll get closer to reality. Just from the few videos on the internet which still leak out, the flood damage is colossal. Anyone remember hundreds of cars stuck in flooded tunnels last year and CCP running dozens of buses with blacked out windows to evacuate an unknown number of bodies.

Agreed
If they themselves are putting out such numbers then it would be at least x10 more
As Ramanaji said Emperor’s heavenly mandate seems to have run with a series of natural calamities
Some papers even headlining historical etc etc
Maybe if he leaves Beijing for BRICS there could be a change of guard at the palace who knows

This is the report on the PLA Rocket Force that has the information that has (potentially) caused the death and investigation of its leaders due to suspicion of leaks.

Members with the required missile knowledge please read. everyone else, please download. It will probably disappear quickly.

I have a question for long time China watchers like SSridhar, RaviB, Ricky_v et al. Why does the CCCP eliminate all traces of existence (on line profile, photographs, meeting records, news items) of public persona who have fallen out of favor with them? Surely they can't be worried about investigations or legal challenges in the future relying on such evidence since they are the only legal authorities that matter. Is it a psychological deterrent to detractors that resonates with their culture? Or is it an extreme level of paranoia to leave no traces behind?
Thanks.

I think the ruling establishment just want that person erased, because they represent a stain on the party's supposedly perfect image.

They want them gone, so that things can move on. That person will be replaced with someone else. And there's no need to shame or stigmatize the offender in the eyes of the public, since the public's opinion don't matter, only their acquiescence and obedience.

Anoop, imo, if you ask the chinese to describe their society (ideal) in one word, most would say harmonious or tranquil, this is the highest concept in chinese polity and this is the basis around which every other function is arranged. Every other variable comes after, like with the border issue with india, the chinese state that though the relations are strained in one aspect, the overall harmony of the relationship must be maintained, primarily in the form of a skewed trade, that india does not consider this harmony to be the highest attainable aspect of its polity is something that the chinese are perpetually amazed to find.

In this sense, people are bumped off metaphorical lists because the event never happened you see, and when the events never happened, then there is no chance of any discordant thoughts; its the culmination of the adage: "who will you believe, me, or your lying eyes?" and lying eyes are dangerous to a person's well-being so the common citizenry moves along as per the whims and fancies of the suits notwithstanding how foolish their representatives are behaving.

The question is also, why is there so much focus on societal harmony? some chinese scholars think it is because china was a lone civilsation amongst barbarians and satellite civilisations and smothering by civic ennui was the preferred form of governance.

Good to know. But what is the root of his self-proclaimed ideological support for China & Maoism?
Or is he just a money-hungry mercenary paying mere lip-service to China's ruling establishment?
