NATO’s Terror Convoys Halted at Syrian Border

First appeared: http://journal-neo.org/2015/11/29/natos ... an-border/

Excerpt:

"... Russia’s increased activity along the Syrian-Turkish border signifies the closing phases of the Syrian conflict. With Syrian and Kurdish forces holding the border east of the Euphrates, the Afrin-Jarabulus corridor is the only remaining conduit for supplies bound for terrorists in Syria to pass. Syrian forces have begun pushing east toward the Euphrates from Aleppo, and then will move north to the Syrian-Turkish border near Jarabulus. Approximately 90-100 km west near Afrin, Ad Dana, and Azaz, it appears Russia has begun cutting off terrorist supply lines right at the border. It is likely Syrian forces will arrive and secure this region as well.

For those that have criticized Russia’s air campaign claiming conflicts can’t be won from the air without a ground component, it should be clear by now that the Syrian Arab Army is that ground component, and has dealt ISIS and Al Qaeda its most spectacular defeats in the conflict.

When this corridor is closed and supplies cut off, ISIS, Nusra, and all associated NATO-backed factions will atrophy and die as the Syrian military restores order across the country. This may be why there has been a sudden “rush” by the West to move assets into the region, the impetus driving the United States to place special forces into Syrian territory itself, and for Turkey’s ambush of a Russian Su-24 near the Syrian-Turkish border

What all of this adds up to is a clear illustration of precisely why the Syrian conflict was never truly a “civil war.”.
The summation of support for militants fighting against the Syrian government and people, has come from beyond Syria’s borders. With that support being cut off and the prospect of these militants being eradicated, the true sponsors behind this conflict are moving more directly and overtly to salvage their failed conspiracy against the Syrian state.

What we see emerging is what was suspected and even obvious all along – a proxy war started by, and fought for Western hegemonic ambitions in the region, intentionally feeding the forces of extremism, not fighting them."

FSA is a name of convenience. All groups who are in the good books of NATO and need to be supported become FSA. People from FSA leave and join Al Nusra when the Al Nusra gang controls an area and become AL FSA when the Nusra gang runs out of ammo and supplies.

Of course Nusra is just an example. They do it with every known group / name.

Rus are being kept from tearing IS throats by pumping in arms and manpower into Nusrah in Latakia and Idlib. keep them busy in that corner(of vital economic and political importance to govt) and work out alternative future for the east.

if they could devote 150 airstrikes a day to IS in syria, would do a lot more damage.

today's comedy show.but under the sheets NATO is swiftly moving to keep Euphrates valley . b1 and b52 long mia will appear from nowhere now to pound raqqa.

----
The United Kingdom’s elite military unit Special Air Service (SAS) will be sent to Syria with a hit-list of 20 top high-value Islamic State (IS) targets, including a British woman dubbed as ‘Mrs. Terror,’ according to a media report.

The kill mission is part of renewed efforts to eliminate IS commanders in Syria and will happen regardless of the outcome of Wednesday’s vote in parliament, the Daily Express reported.

The name is Sally Jones

Sally Jones, a mother of two from Kent, who has made herself invaluable to the IS is believed to be among the targets.

Jones’ husband Junaid Hussain was killed in a drone strike in the ISIS “capital” of Raqqa, Syria — the same city where the U.S. also caught up with “Jihadi John” — in August.

Tomahawk launch on the anvil

Other moves against IS will include deploying of Britain’s most sophisticated nuclear submarine into the eastern Mediterranean, armed and ready to launch a Tomahawk cruise missile strike on the IS’s Raqqa power base, the report said.

Around 40 members of the SAS are already supporting U.S. Special Forces in Syria but that number is to be doubled after defence chiefs ordered the head of Britain’s special forces to focus all efforts against IS jihadis in Iraq and Syria.

Key British terrorists main targets

Though the force will take part in a range of missions, its main task will be to target key British extremists.

While the names on the kill list remain secret, they are believed to include Jones, from Chatham, Kent, who converted to Islam and uses the name Sakinah Hussain.

A vital part of IS’ recruiting machine, she has vowed to behead Christians.

She is a live threat

According to intelligence sources, her links with the U.K. make her a “live threat” to national security.

In total 10 Britons are believed to be on the list, including British brothers Nasser and Aseel Muthana, aged 20 and 17. They left for Syria last year and are believed to have been close associates of the two Britons killed in the August drone strike. In all, more than 700 British nationals have left the U.K. to join the IS.

‘We will use our Afghanistan strategy’

“The SAS will use the same strategy in Syria that it used in Afghanistan, when they effectively destroyed the Taliban’s middle order,” a senior military source was quoted as saying.

The kill list was created from intelligence supplied by GCHQ, the government’s eavesdropping service, and the U.S. National Security Agency.

Monitoring web activity, calls

Both organisations have spent the past two years monitoring phone calls and internet activity between terrorists. British Special Forces have already formed a series of “hunter-killer” teams with U.S. counterparts, including Delta Force and Seal Team 6.

rus might have fomented the sdf vs nusra fight to slow things down....they will likely encourage inter kurd and turkey kurd fights as well in addition to providing the Kurds aid.

so rus and turkey could be allies to extend the isis lease lol for their different reasons.

not until certain US assets are in position. the US is not taking the S-400 threat lightly.

Until then, the real ISIS (stupid psycho killers) in northeast Syria walks free from attack by US assets.

Vlad the Bare-Chested's ham fisted agit-prop otherwise.

Until then France, Britain and other allies may bomb at their discretion however they feel compelled.

Have right at it oh Brother Allies! Be our guest.

>> the US is not taking the S-400 threat lightly.

I heard no US strikes in syria since thursday last week. but why this diffidence? turkey has already bailed out of bombing ISIS. and the US has a cordial deconflict protocol with Rus that has avoided any hostile encounters so far. not even any drones have been molested.

the 50 SF people sent to kobani are perhaps being given time to scout the territory around raqqa and work out an action plan for ground forces and bombers.

if the USAF deploys even some 15 heavy bombers loaded to the gunwales with JDAM/LGB/SFW with supporting drones and refuelers , the tide will turn very quickly on the Raqqa problem. RuAF bombers do not have such conversions done for conventional payloads of PGMs and hence cannot do this, even if Putin had the feet on the ground(SDF) to follow up which he does not. and their refuelers would have to stage much further out from Iran vs nearby Incirlik.

US SF ground personnel go nowhere if they can't be rescued when caught in a bad situation. Obama doesn't like suicide pacts; it's not in his nature and he won't authorize it. He's just not that kind of guy. Trump would do it but not Obama.

Everything is on hold until US Air Force bad boys of rock and roll arrive in Turkey.

Tall Tales of the Moron-of-Cam:Episode 4?

Prophetic again. What is the diff. between the so-called "moderate" Syrian opposition and ISIS? One big Zero! As the Russians set fire to the tails of ISIS,they suddenly discard their black "skins",wear mufti and become Syrian rebels! :rotfl: We were earlier told on absolute authority by Western/US sources, that "rebel" numbers did not even amount to a few thousand, mainly in the hundreds. We suddenly have a figure of 70000 appearing out of the desert sands thanks to CaMoron! Had they been available in such large numbers then Assad must be a mil. genius to be able to stave off ISIS,the 70,000 "rebels" as well as endure 2 years of thousands of US/Western bombing!
This is a shameful blatant falsehood,as nauseating and fanciful as Tony BLiar's grand lie about Saddam's WMDs. ISIS and the rebels are of the same "cloth",created and supported by the same sponsors, the Sunni Arab despots and their Western bumchums.

http://www.independent.co.uk/voices/dav ... 53576.html
David Cameron, there aren't 70,000 moderate fighters in Syria - and whoever heard of a moderate with a Kalashnikov, anyway?
The Blairite Labour MPs are going to vote with Dave because they loathe Corbyn more than Isis
Robert Fisk
Not since Hitler ordered General Walther Wenck to send his non-existent 12th Army to rescue him from the Red Army in Berlin has a European leader believed in military fantasies as PR Dave Cameron did last week. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Telling the House of Commons about the 70,000 “moderate” fighters deployed in Syria was not just lying in the sense that Tony Blair lied – because Blair persuaded himself to believe in his own dishonesty – but something approaching burlesque. It was whimsy – ridiculous, comic, grotesque, ludicrous. It came close to a unique form of tragic pantomime.

At one point last week, one of Cameron’s satraps was even referring to this phantom army as “ground troops”. I doubt if there are 700 active “moderate” foot soldiers in Syria – and I am being very generous, for the figure may be nearer 70 – let alone 70,000. And the Syrian Kurds are not going to conquer Isis for us; they’re too busy trying to survive the assaults of our Turkish allies. Besides, aren’t the “moderates” supposed to be the folk who don’t carry weapons at all? Who’s ever heard before of a “moderate” with a Kalashnikov?

The Syrian regime’s army – who really are ground troops and who never worried about the “moderate” rebels because they always ran away – are the only regular force deployed in Syria. And thanks to Vladimir Putin rather than PR Dave, they’re beginning to win back territory. Yet after losing at least 60,000 soldiers – killed largely by Isis and the al-Nusra Front – the Syrian army would be hard put to fight off an assault on Damascus by Dave Cameron’s 70,000 “moderates”. If this ghost army existed, it would already have captured Damascus and hurled Bashar al-Assad from power.

Whoa there! Haste and rhetoric is not a recipe for peace

Yet in the Commons last week, we were supposed to believe this tomfoolery – all in the cause of launching two or three fighter bombers against Isis in Syria. It wouldn’t make us more vulnerable, Dave told us. In fact we were already vulnerable because we were bombing Isis in Iraq. Yet Dave knows – and we all know, don’t we? – that Isis will most assuredly try to commit an atrocity in Britain to revenge Dave’s latest schoolboy adventure. Then – à la Blair after 7/7 – Dave will insist that Isis are killing us because they hate our “values”. Then will come the inevitable video of a suicide killer saying he killed our innocents because Dave sent his miniature air force to bomb Isis.

The odd thing about all this is that most Brits I come across – and most Arabs I talk to in the Middle East – are well aware of the above. So is the Labour Party. But the Blairite MPs in the Labour Party are going to vote with Dave because while they loathe the evil cult of Isis, they hate the evil cult of Corbyn even more. Do they too believe – as we are all supposed to believe – that the so-called “Joint Intelligence Committee” is telling the truth about the mythical 70,000 “moderates”? Is this unspeakably valiant committee so stupid that it does not tell Dave about the role of the Saudi Wahabi death cult, which is the direct religious and sectarian inspiration for Isis? And if it did tell Dave, why didn’t he talk about the Saudis in the Commons last week?

No, we are not “at war”. Isis can massacre our innocents, but it is not invading us. Isis is not about to capture Paris or London – as we and the Americans captured Baghdad and Mosul in 2003. No. What Isis intends to do is to persuade us to destroy ourselves. Isis wants us to hate our Muslim minorities. It wants civil war in France between the elite and its disenfranchised Muslims, most of them of Algerian origin. It wants the Belgians to hate their Muslims. It wants us Brits to hate our Muslims. Isis must have been outraged by the thousands of fine Europeans who welcomed with love the million Muslim refugees who reached Germany. The Muslims should have been heading towards the new Caliphate – not running away from it. So now it wishes to turn us against the refugees.
Isis was quick to understand a truth the West must now confront

To achieve this, it must implicate hundreds of thousands of innocent Muslim refugees in its atrocities. It must force our EU nations to introduce States of Emergency, suspend civil liberties, raid the homes of Muslims. It wishes to destroy the European Union itself. It wishes to strike at the heart of the European ideal by liquidating the very foundation of the union: by persuading us to tear up the Schengen agreement and to close our frontiers. And we are doing exactly that. Are we, in some auto-panic, actually working for Isis? If that gruesome institution did not ban alcohol, their members would be toasting with champagne our political leaders for their vacuity, their sophistry, the abject fear with which they now regularly try to inject us under the dangerous old cry of “Unify the nation”.

Vladimir Putin comprehends this. He knows that Turkey is helping Isis – this is why he is going to destroy the Isis oil smuggling route to Turkey – and, as a former serving KGB officer, he understands the cynicism of any crisis. If an American aircraft had strayed into Turkish airspace, he asked at his Kremlin press conference with François Hollande last week, does anyone believe that Turkey would have shot down the US pilots? We all know the answer to that. If Turkey wished to destroy Isis, why does it bombard Isis’ Kurdish enemies? Why does it imprison two of Turkey’s top journalists for reporting how the Turkish intelligence service smuggled weapons to Islamist fighters in Syria? And Putin is hardly going to object if the EU is bent on suicide-through-fear.

Amid all this, PR Dave raves on. And why not? Having Photoshopped a fake poppy on to his lapel to honour Britain’s war dead, why shouldn’t he get away with Photoshopping 70,000 fake “moderates” on to a map of Syria?

Oxygen for jihadists’: ISIS-smuggled oil flows through Turkey to intl markets – Iraqi MP
Published time: 29 Nov, 2015
https://www.rt.com/news/323895-isis-smu ... raq-syria/
Terrorist group Islamic State earns millions of dollars selling oil on the black market in Turkey, Iraqi MP and former national security adviser, Mowaffak al Rubaie told RT. He also revealed that wounded terrorists are being treated in Turkish hospitals.
Trends
Islamic State, Syria-Turkey

“In the last eight months ISIS has managed to sell ... $800 million dollars worth of oil on the black market of Turkey. This is Iraqi oil and Syrian oil, carried by trucks from Iraq, from Syria through the borders to Turkey and sold ...[at] less than 50 percent of the international oil price,” Mowaffak al Rubaie said in an interview with RT.

“Now this either get consumed inside, the crude is refined on Turkish territory by the Turkish refineries, and sold in the Turkish market. Or it goes to Jihan and then in the pipelines from Jihan to the Mediterranean and sold to the international market.”

‘Commercial scale’ oil smuggling into Turkey becomes priority target of anti- #ISIS strikes https://t.co/5PGSeyqAftpic.twitter.com/uQuBLK4eS0
— RT (@RT_com) November 27, 2015

“Money and dollars generated by selling Iraqi and Syrian oil on the Turkish black market is like the oxygen supply to ISIS and it’s operation,” he added. “Once you cut the oxygen then ISIS will suffocate.”

The Iraqi MP said there is “no shadow of a doubt” that the Turkish government knows about the oil smuggling operations. “The merchants, the businessmen [are buying oil] in the black market in Turkey under the noses – under the auspices if you like – of the Turkish intelligence agency and the Turkish security apparatus,” he said.

READ MORE: Turkey boosts arms supplies to Syria terrorists in exchange for oil & antiques – Damascus

Citing Iraqi intelligence services, Mowaffak al Rubaie also accused Turkey of providing medical treatment to terrorists in hospitals along the border and at times even in “Istanbul itself.”

“There are security officers who are sympathizing with ISIS in Turkey,” the Iraqi politician believes. “They are allowing them to go from Istanbul to the borders and infiltrate ... Syria and Iraq.”

“There is no terrorist organization which can stand alone, without a neighboring country helping it – in this case Turkey,” Rubaie said, urging Ankara to come clean and join the international efforts to destroy the terror group.

Russia considers ISIS oil smuggling operations to be one of the highest priority targets in crippling the terror group’s finances and capabilities. Moscow has long been requesting that Ankara properly addresses reports of its alleged involvement with ISIS oil smuggling.

President Putin himself noted that it was “hard to believe, but it is theoretically possible” that the Turkish leadership knows nothing about oil flowing into Turkey illegally. However he noted that the operations are too daring and obvious to ignore.

“Vehicles, carrying oil, lined up in a chain going beyond the horizon,” said Putin, comparing the views seen by Russian pilots and drones to a “living oil pipe” stretched from ISIS and rebel controlled areas of Syria into Turkey. “Day and night they are going to Turkey. Trucks always go there loaded, and back from there – empty,” Putin said earlier this week.

Turkey Arrests Generals for Stopping Syria-Bound Trucks 'Filled With Arms'

Sputnik News

16:42 29.11.2015(updated 19:46 29.11.2015)

Two Turkish generals and a colonel were detained on Saturday for intercepting Syria-bound trucks that belonged to Turkey's National Intelligence Organization (MIT), the newspaper Today's Zaman reported.

In January 2014, Ankara Gendarmerie Major-General Ibrahim Aydin, former Adana Gendarmerie Brigadier-General Hamza Celepoglu and former Gendarmerie Criminal Laboratory Head Colonel Burhanettin Cihangiroglu stopped Syrian-bound trucks in southern Turkey after they received information from an anonymous source that the trucks were illegally carrying weapons to militants in Syria.

When the information about the trucks became public, MIT officials and high-ranking Turkish politicians, including President Recep Teyyip Erdogan, who was Prime Minister back then, and Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, then the country's foreign minister, were furious that the gendarmes stopped the trucks and said the Syria-bound trucks were carrying 'humanitarian aid' to Turkmen living just south of Turkey, the newspaper said.

'Yes, I'm saying this without any hesitation. That aid was going to the Turkmens. There will be a war next door and we will watch our Turkmen, Arab and Turkish brothers being massacred,' Davutoglu said, as cited by Today's Zaman.

However, members of opposition parties and some Turkish media said the trucks were indeed transporting weapons to Islamic extremists in Syria.

The gendarmes involved in the interception confirmed that the Syria-bound trucks weren't going to an area where the Turkmen lived, but to an area populated by radical groups, the Turkish newspaper said.

When an investigation into the MIT case was launched, the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) called the probe as 'treason and espionage' on the part of prosecutors.

New Twist in the Story

New developments on the issue took place recently. Last Tuesday, Erdogan answered claims previously made by critics, who said the trucks were filled with weapons, by sarcastically asking them: 'What if the MIT trucks were filled with weapons?'

Then on Saturday, contrary to his earlier claims that the MIT trucks were carrying humanitarian aid to Turkmen, Erdogan said the trucks were actually heading on their way to help the Free Syrian Army (FSA).

'They [the gendarmes who revealed the transfer] also exposed those going to the FSA in that way,' Erdogan said on Saturday while addressing his supporters in Balikesir, as cited by Today's Zaman.

Well, that's getting pretty confusing – were the trucks delivering 'humanitarian aid' to the Turkmen or the FSA then? Just make up your mind, Mr. Erdogan. Where the trucks were heading and what were they carrying after all?

Meanwhile, some very high-ranking Turkish officials, including then-president Abdullah Gul, revealed that the Syria-bound trucks were a 'state-secret,' leading to more speculations that the trucks were indeed filled with weapons.

The recent developments are taking place in the wake of a major government crackdown on two Turkish journalists of the Cumhuriyet newspaper, Can Dunbar and Erdem Gul, who we arrested for covering a story and releasing pictures, claiming that Turkish trucks provided weapons to Syrian opposition rebels.

The reason why the Turkish government arrested the journalists is because Erdogan and his ruling party don't want reporters to write about certain things, such as the government's support of Syrian rebels, corruption and other important things that people should actually know about, human rights activist Arzu Geybulla said.

Following the arrest of the journalists, who covered Erdogan's 'tender' topic, it looks like the Turkish President is trying to eliminate everyone who's willing to speak up or reveal the fact that the Turkish government was helping out Islamic extremists in Syria.

All of this comes amid the political scandal involving the downing of the Russian Su-24 by a Turkish Air Force F-16 fighter jet on Tuesday.

After the incident Russia said Turkey was one of the countries which cover the actions of Islamic terrorists in Syria.

Russians do not have time on their side. This is a crucial advantage that Turks have and even the Iranians cannot do much about it. . Asad needs to put together a coalition comprising the Sunni tribes, Alawites, Kurds and other minorities to fight the ISIS/Turks.

Unless they make a deal with the Kurds of course...but even the Kurds cannot take on the mighty Turkish army and their Ansars on their own.

the greedy turkis are the wretched pakis of europe, all wrapped up in their long imagined fantasies of being a bridge to europe and vice versa and thus their constant sleazy efforts to monetize that fantasy.

That they are extremely unpopular on both sides of that very same "bridge" seems to be lost on them.

this is NATO's reward for Erdogan for shooting down that Russian plane.

EU to Pay $3 Billion for Turkey’s Help in Stemming Migrant Crisis

this is what caused the refugee crisis in the first place.
this SMS by UN is what caused the crisis. So who was behind this ? US ? NATO ?
not a single news channel gave publicity to this SMS being core reason behind the refugees escaping from Turkey into Europe.

UN Text Messages Over 200,000 Syrian Refugees: Food Aid To Be Cut Off. How You Can Help
Earlier this month (sept), 229,000 refugees who live in urban communities in Jordan, were notified that they would lose out entirely on their food vouchers. They had been receiving $14 per month, and now they will not receive any assistance from WFP, Julie Marshall, Canadian spokesperson for WFP, told The Huffington Post.

this is what the FAB5000 and FAB9000 bombs probably look like:
were used in iran-iraq war and in afghanistan.
Rus probably has quite a few in the basement.

^^ a few such in and around the border crossings and truck staging areas should spread some fear in the smuggling community.

USA didn't bomb any water pumping station as long as ISIS/Rebels were in power.

US-led coalition targets water pumping stations in Aleppo
The US-led international coalition, allegedly fighting ISIS, targeted Thursday water pumping stations in al-Khafseh area, east of Aleppo, causing them to go out of service.

A source at Aleppo Governorate told SANA reporter that Aleppo Water Establishment will immediately start the necessary maintenance measures to fix the damaged pumping stations so as to operate them again as quickly as possible.

On October 10th, two F16 aircrafts belonging to the US-led coalition violated the Syrian airspace, targeting infrastructure and destroying two power plants in al-Rudwaniya area to the east of Aleppo city.
as soon as SAA is about to take over a place or takes over, USA comes in bravely to bomb the pumping station and electricity substation so that local population can rise up against the regime.

^^ they are trying to join Anbar+Tikrit+Raqqa areas into a new sunni bantustan under NATO protection and physically linked to turkish border.

will be used to block and cut the shia crescent in two by putting up a new country between iraqi-iran shia pride lands and the syrian coast-lebanon western shia.

anbar shares a long border with KSA already. perfect.

TSJ must be happy - "US Air Force bad boys of rock and roll" have destroyed another facility that ISIS needed destroyed. No wonder a super rich terrorist army never invested in an Air Force. It had US Air Force at beck and call.

SAA needs to recapture these eastern areas first, instead of focusing solely on North West and South. Those are not going anywhere, but the East of Syria is under real threat from geopolitical manipulation. If the Kurds can do it, then so can SAA/Hezb/IRGF/Iraqi militia + RuAF combo

I am very apprehensive about all the NATO pappus inviting themselves to Syria in one form or another. It doesn't seem to be good, next NATO-manufactured incident (which should be about now), and all of these will be in Syria to take on 4+1.

but then these words give some comfort ..

Liberal Democratic Party of Russia leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky has proposed to crush Turkey via a nuclear missile strike! This is according to the radio station "Moscow speaking".
"Istanbul is very easy to destroy: just one nuclear bomb in the Strait of Bosphorus, and it will wash away. It will be such a terrible flood, the water column will rise 10-15 meters, and the city will not be there any more, and there are 9 million lives in that city", said Zhirinovsky. “Turkey's allies in NATO will not interfere …. they don't want to die in a nuclear fire."

Posting the Fars news report in full:
Commander: Iraqi Forces' Further Advance against ISIL Blocked by US
Commander: Iraqi Forces' Further Advance against ISIL Blocked by US

TEHRAN (FNA)- A commander of Iraq's volunteer forces (Hashd al-Shaabi) complained that the US meddling in the fight against the ISIL has impeded their victory over the Takfiri terrorist group and prevented them from winning back the strategic cities of Ramadi and Fallujah.
"The US meddling prevents the Iraqi army and popular forces from concluding their battles against the ISIL in Ramadi and Fallujah cities," Commander of Imam Khamenei Battalion Haidar al-Hosseini al-Ardavi told FNA on Sunday.

He noted that the US is doing its best to prevent mop-up operations by the popular forces in Anbar province.

Al-Ardavi underlined that prolonging the Anbar battle will also negatively influence the Iraqi army's battles against the terrorists in other provinces.

In September, an Iraqi analyst said that the US is using some tribesmen in the Western province of Anbar to pressure the government in Baghdad to keep the popular forces away from the battle against terrorists in the volatile region.

Mohammad Na'na expressed regret that Washington has succeeded in persuading certain tribal leaders in Anbar to join its so-called war on the ISIL.

"Washington is pressuring the Iraqi government to exclude the popular forces from the Anbar province mop-up operations," he told FNA.

Na'na, meantime, warned against the United States' negative role in the war on ISIL, saying field reports show that the US ground troops have played no role in the operations that led to the liberation of Anbar.

Iraqi Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmad Jamal announced in September that Baghdad had rejected Washington's demand for the deployment of the US ground force to Iraq's war against the ISIL.

"Some of the US military officials and generals of the anti-ISIL coalition forces have indirectly underlined the necessity for dispatching the US ground troops to Iraq to join the combat against the terrorist group," Jamal said.

"But, Iraq is opposed to the presence of any ground force from the US or any other member states of the coalition in the fight against the terrorist groups, because the Iraqi people do not want to see any foreign soldiers on their soil and they do not want to experience the bitter taste of the US military presence on their land once against," the spokesman added.

Also in September, the Iraqi popular forces known as Hashed Al-Shaabi also underlined their opposition to the US forces' partnership in fighting against terrorists in the Western province of Anbar.

"The US will not sacrifice even one of its soldiers for Iraq and their present meddling in the government's affairs is a plot to disintegrate Iraq," Karim al-Nouri, a commander of the popular forces, said.

He reminded that Hashed Al-Shaabi had earned many victories against the terrorists, and said, "Therefore, the popular forces will not wait for anyone's permission and will continue fighting against the ISIL."

i was set thinking don't these aviators have any conscience .. how can they destroy water pumping stations and power stations without any guilt .. granted they are just given coordinates .. still they may well know what they are bombing. Don't they ever question their bosses, sir but this ain't the first time .. slimy basturds.

All these jugaad weapons like gas cylinder mortar etc look impressive from the side where they are fired - but the problem as always is intelligence and accurate targeting. Simply firing of stuff in the general area of the enemy is probably useless.
