Newbie question. Is there any ISiS held terrain in Iraq or Syria where ISiS can be lured out in open and be welcomed by a giant Daisey Cutter? Do Russia have something similar? A 15,000 pound or more thermobaric watermelon? oh a MOAB is 21,000 pounds Use it use it...

lot of places - qalamoun mountains, maher and shaer gas fields in east homs, sukanah-arak near palmyra, east bank of euphrates in deir azzor and the hills overlooking the airport, tabqah airbase ... using that FOAB has been a persistent demand here. no civilians really around in these places...no tourists either.

problem is the rats are spread very thin at the above in penny packets and perhaps concentrated in large numbers only in raqqa, mosul, al bab and deir azzor mixed in with captive civilians.

so a cheap 250kg OFAB works just as well, rather than a special mission needing a Tu160 from Engels in southern russia.

yes Isis can be lured out into the open and Russia has a complete suite of weapons to deal with it.

the problem being is what will it take to lure them into the open? and they always seem to have women and children with when lured into the open.

How 300 Al Qaeda headhunters recruited 5,000 underage fighters in liberated Syria this year, to sustain the war

Nusra’s “Mobilize” Campaign to Recruit Children

“Don’t be one of the qaideen [people who do not actively fight; the opposite of mujahideen].” Although it was intended to last no more than a month, the campaign is still ongoing and has now attracted 5,000 recruits to combat Shia militias.

In order to recruit children, the Nusra Front relies on education as well as children and their families’ need for money and food. Sometimes, Nusra snatches kids directly off the streets. One former recruit, Majed, describes in the HRW report how he was recruited at the age of fifteen—members of the Nusra Front would go to civilians’ houses to take their children and then place them in an institute, of sorts, where they learned how to read the Quran and use light weaponry. He told HRW, “[Nusra] taught children how to read the Quran, then taught about weapons. They taught us how to take apart and put together a weapon. They put a target for us to practice shooting outside the mosque. Anyone who hit the target got a reward. If a family needed more supplies, for example, this would be a reward.”

These examples show the relationship between the Nusra Front—now called Jabhat Fateh al-Sham—and civilians. The Nusra Front needs soldiers and wants to sow its ideas and principles in Syrian society, while civilians find themselves in need of money, economic support, and protection. Without addressing these factors, we will not succeed in stopping the recruitment of child soldiers. Without substantive action from the international community to stop the conflict in Syria, we will not be able to protect children and safeguard their future.

Britain is asking for it.
SS-18 commander is waiting with postcard ..

A group of British 'activists' blockaded the Russian Embassy with hundreds of fake limbs yesterday, to protest against the Russia’s bombing of Syria. The demonstration, which was held The Syria Campaign, saw 800 mannequin arms and legs get dumped outside the building’s entrance. Two people also chained themselves to the front gate. According to a spokesperson for the group, the protest was an attempt to “disrupt” the country’s plans to “unleash further hell on the people of Aleppo.”
“Right now Russia is the country primarily responsible for the ongoing killing in Syria that is driving so many people out of their homes and causing unimaginable human suffering,” wrote Syria Campaign rep Anna Nolan in an open essay. “Sometimes the inaction and apathy of our politicians demands to be challenged, and with the impending all-out attack on Aleppo there has never been a more appropriate time to stand up and be counted.”
The limbs were reportedly a representation of Syrians who had suffered injuries and lost loved ones due to the highly controversial Russian airstrikes. “275,000 people are trapped in besieged east Aleppo today and like so many other Syrian towns, they are being slowly starved and bombed into submission,” Nolan continued. “Russia has used illegal weapons on civilians, including incendiary bombs and cluster bombs. It’s also giving political cover to Assad’s continued use of chemical weapons by blocking any international attempts to stop him.”
In a statement issued yesterday, Russian embassy staff said they were “deeply concerned” about the UK government’s lack of support and security. Dismissing the demonstration as a “so-called protest”, they chastised police for remaining “indifferent” to the action.
“An unauthorised protest action by a group of unidentified people interrupted the work of the embassy as the entrance to the consular section was blocked up with a heap of mannequin body parts while the protestors handcuffed themselves to the gate,” they wrote. “As a result, the mission staff and visitors were unable to enter the premises of the embassy. Police officers remained indifferent in the face of the openly provocative and disorderly conduct of the so-called ‘demonstrators’”

how did WW2 come to an end ?

You need not attack USA,
attack Europe & USA will fall in line. Why should USA put itself at risk defending Europe. They have an elite with comfortable life in Virginia, west coast, maryland with vacations at martha's vineyard, hamptons etc. They will do nothing of the sort. Europe will be sacrificed so that USA survives. This is how superpowers think.

Out of all European capitals, per square km London has most to lose for global financial system controllers.

Today we have 2-3 wars ongoing at any point of time plus a bunch of assasins/mercenaries who can strike anyplace and anytime. All these can come to an end.

Why do you think Russia does mock drills over UK maritime borders all the time.

They just don't have the manpower. The last year has seen the SAA, Hezbollah & Iranians fighting a truly epic struggle against overwhelming odds, staying on the offensive despite always being heavily outnumbered and despite constant heavy losses. I'm amazed at how well they've held it together all this time. Their best units must be incredibly exhausted and yet they keep fighting this limitless horde of jihadists pouring in from Turkey, Jordan and Sunni Iraq. It's a story of incredible heroism but we may be expecting too much of them at this point.

true. even the desert hawks seem to number just 1000 and tiger forces 3000. thats combined less than a brigade.

as per article above AQ has recruited some 5000 adolescent fighters from Idlib alone. per Iraq PM, fighters from 100 countries came to iraq via turkey, jordan and saudi.

the syruans are almost done cleaning up damascus province (ghouta is getting smaller day by day). this might free up more repub guard units like the 5th division to head north.

Here is an interesting post Singha will like where Mig-31 was used in a exercise against Oscar launching Granit somewhere at Kamchatka , Granits were flying at 800 m/sec but Mig-31 successful managed to intercept them , closing speed was about 3000 km/h

Granit seems armoured against inert ciws rounds too per a comment.

It is said to "Granite" in front of "tank armor" ... A friend of mine told me that in the exercise "Granite" flying through "the cloud" missiles naval units AK-630, a few dozen hits on a rocket, but it exactly hit the target ( platform with corner reflectors). Ship systems melee it never caught. At the end of the flight at "Granite" blocked rudders and control it like a cannonball flies to the goal ... It can stay on course, but almost impossible to destroy.

Yes if you read the article I posted when the missile was intercepted by 2 AAM at less than 40 km ( it was detected at 80 km ) even after the hit from missile it continued flying in a straight direction for quite some time.
