And much more of your own commentary along the same lines. You are a admirer of disciplined, channeled, well-mobilized brutality, and therefore are an admirer of Islamism, just like many Commies who fancy themselves as great fighters against neo-colonialism. I also admire certain things about Arabs, Turks, Mongols, etc, but we operate in a different philosophical/cultural context.

DAMASCUS, Syria (AP) — Opposition fighters abducted 12 nuns from a Christian village overrun by rebels, Syria's Greek Orthodox patriarch and the head of a convent said Tuesday, adding to fears that hard-line Muslim rebels trying to overthrow President Bashar Assad were increasingly targeting Christians.

Islam presents itself as a "total" ideology covering all aspects of life, it gives it's followers a sense of a shared culture and brotherhood, and a sense of emptiness to those who begin to doubt it.Islam legislates almost EVERYTHING of a human being. It controls them completely. From food to sex ...from marriage to divorce..from personal cleanness to manners of using toilet etc. Islam plays role in everything and this make its followers to start recognizing with Islam. Islam just ingrains itself in the mind of follower and even if a follower leave Islam , he/she won't come out of it for ever! (I know many such people who still wear Hijabs , don't eat pork or drink etc just because they WERE Muslims. Now it has become a part of them)
It appears that this guy didn't try to understand Dharmic systems mainly Hinduism and is in awe of a system that holds people by force and fear. There is a sense of identity even among dharmics, mainly among those in varnaasharma system. Dharma is the law, all Hindus hold it in high regard, follow it, revere it. No threats issued if they don't follow, each is left to his own karma, the karmic cycle decides your happiness and you pay one way or another if you are not dharmic. This dharma exists in every walk of life. There is dharma in eating, sleeping, studying, in marriage, in leading a married life, in raising kids, even in dying. So what is not covered? Most importantly nothing is forced, no threats if you do this or if you don't do that.
If India has survived for thousands of years with so much diversity, language differences, it is not because it is by fluke. This is because of shared sanskriti and sadbhyata that connects every Indian, even Indian Muslims and Christians with rest. This is also what Rajeev Malhotra writes, this is also how the sanskriti spread to other nations like Thailand, Srilanka etc, no invasion, no killing, no blood shed and no genocide...can any of the desert religions say this?

I would put it this way: if Malsi is so elegant, noble, desireable, peaceful, yada yada yada and everybody would want to join that cultish club, why not let those have a choice of leaving if they don't like it?

Shariah Officer Injured in Aceh as Partygoers Fight Back
Scores of young people vandalized a shariah police office and injured a religious police officer in the early hours of Tuesday morning after the Islamic authority broke up a gathering in Langsa, a religious official said.
“Around 1 a.m., one Wilayatul Hisbah [shariah police] team of 12 conducted an operation in the former Cafe Citra building on Jalan A Yani in Langsa because a ‘drinking party’ was said to be going on,” Ibrahim Latif, the head of the Langsa city shariah police told the Jakarta Globe.
“It was also a ‘sex party’ because men and women who were not related were mixing,” he added.

Did the girl say this or the dead father/sister ? Obviously the lawyer of this ____ said this while defending him.

The sister was alive when she was set ablaze. Her throat was also slit. Gruesome. I've been with a few muslim girls and I notice that there is a tendency for the father/brother to exhibit psychopathic behavior. I know two muslim girls that have secretly converted to hinduism to be with their boyfriends b/c they feared being halaled.

RoyG,
I have also been with a couple of moslem girls.
As long as you are steadfast and refuse to convert then they do accept this. I always got the impression that they were just greatful to be treated decently and were relieved that they would not have to marry a cousin!
A very good childhood friend of mine has married a paki from pak (he is 48, so a bit deperate) she is 18 years younger than him. We chatted about the entire conversion issue and he told me that he has told her that every Saturday he goes to the mandir and he would never stop. She is due to come over sometime in the new year.
My advice was to subtley "de-islamise her.
She is into fasion and wants to be a hair stylist, so it should be quite easy.
All he has to do is stick to his guns

And stay close to reason.
The world is a complicated place people. Sometimes I fear we are getting too close to the issue, and our views are becoming a caricature of reality...
I have a good friend, from school days for instance, who married a Muslim. She is happily married with two grown sons, and they are a family of solid atheists.
There are many, many variations on this theme.
Of course, one must absolutely oppose any attempt to force some faith system or ideology on someone else through physical or emotional coercion...

Gal's parents wouldn't be a problem? I guess the guy really has to be on top of the situation. And you say that she is much younger, from pak, and conversion thingy. He has his hands full. But, all the best and best of luck to him.
----
Our neighbour seems to have married a woman and converted. She is not even beautiful or anything(I mean if she was irresistibly beautiful, then one can understand the scenario) . Now, they have two children who are growing up to be a pakka mujlims. While the bro of the guy is doing Ayyappa bhajans in the same house(different floor).
Strange world!!! Ultimately, it seems like just one wrong step can take you in a completely different route.
----
Even if the gal had married that psychopath who murdered the gal's father and sister, he would have definitely harmed her also.

Clerics Under Watch in SL
Sri Lankan intelligence agencies are on the vigil against Islamic preachers who create communal tension and spread rumours threatening the security of the country, the State-owned Daily News said on Saturday.
Some previously armed Eastern province-based Muslim fundamentalist groups, which used to pass off their killings as those done by the LTTE, had changed track since 2010 and were operating as “preachers of Islam”, the paper quoted a top intelligence official as saying. “They conduct religious discourses. Terror groups like Osama, Knox and Jetty, which operated prior to 2010, have resorted to this tactic,” the official said.
“Several” Muslim fundamentalist groups were involved in rumour mongering. Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa had issued a directive to take action against such groups.
Islamic Extremism
Speaking at a seminar in September last, Gotabaya had said: “There are some foreign groups that wish to encourage Lankan Muslims to identify themselves more with the global Muslim community, thereby reducing their integration with the rest of the population. Muslim fundamentalism is spreading all over the world. The possibility that such extremist elements may promote Muslim extremism in Lanka is a concern.”

SS - you're right. From the web, I figure the actual Muslim population in SL is somewhere between 7.6% and 9.7% - assuming that the actual figure is closer to 10%, the tipping point of Islamic troubles may have been reached. The incidents in Burma, also makes SL a target for the global jihadis.

Three factors at play
- Parents tote the all religions are same and also abandon dharmic education in early years - deracination
- Bollywood influence (bad boys etc and the Hindu boys are busy studying so dont fit the bill) - this is a huge influence
- Love jihad

Atheists face death in 13 countries, global discrimination: study
In 13 countries around the world, all of them Muslim, people who openly espouse atheism or reject the official state religion of Islam face execution under the law, according to a detailed study issued on Tuesday....
A first survey of 60 countries last year showed just seven where death, often by public beheading, is the punishment for either blasphemy or apostasy - renouncing belief or switching to another religion which is also protected under U.N. accords.
But this year's more comprehensive study showed six more, bringing the full list to Afghanistan, Iran, Malaysia, Maldives, Mauritania, Nigeria, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, United Arab Emirates and Yemen.

Since the Islamic god is good at rhetorical devices, i have a rhetorical question. Have the islamic 'scholars' uncovered ALL the rhetorics and how sure are they of it? Why does god have to 'speak' in tough to understand rhetorics to simple minded, camel and goat tending nomads in the desert?
When the inbred kept harping over and over again that the number of 'rhetorical devices' was justification of divinity, my mind kept going 'retarded devices' over and over again.

Turkish PM says territories of Balkan countries belong to Turkey
Greece rose to its feet as it reacted to comments made by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan that the Turkish territory included the Greek part of Thrace, parts of Macedonia, Bulgaria and Bosnia and Herzegovina
“Thrace is Thessaloniki but at the same time it is Komotini and Xanthi,” Mr Erdogan said during a speech delivered as part of the campaign for next year’s local elections. “It is also Kardzhali [in Bulgaria] and the Vardar River. Going further back, it is Skopje, Pristina and Sarajevo.”
