I wonder how Uzbekistan feels about having its citizens called terrorists, and that too by a terrorist nation no less.

The military has said that foreign and local militants, including Tehreek-i-Taliban, Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan and Haqqani network members will be targeted in the offensive.

This shows that if South Asia were united, South Asia's medal count would have increased tremendously from 64 all the way to 68, and the average rank would have increased to fifth. It's all the fault of Hindoos for splitting South Asia.

Baroness Warsi quits as Foreign Office minister over Gaza
Its only fitting that the Baroness take a stand but would be infinitely better if she moved back home to pukistan and surrendered her passport. All this not withstanding what is happening in Waziristan, matters on which she had no opinion, knowledge, outrage, morally indefensiblity.........!

Family to Imran Khan: get married soon
NASIR JAFFRY
Under pressure
Islamabad, Aug. 4: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan is under pressure from his family members to get married soon, family sources said.
Khan’s sisters, in particular, are very insistent that he get married to avoid being attacked on a personal level. “They are sick of personal attacks against Imran and cannot take this anymore and as such want him married soon,” the Express Tribune newspaper said quoting a source. While the PTI chief has decided to stay silent over the issue, family sources said his sisters have already selected a lady for him from within the family.
They added that if all goes well, Khan will be married soon.
Khan, who retired from active cricket in the early 1990s after winning the 1992 World Cup for Pakistan, married Jemima Goldsmith in 1995. They have two sons. However, the couple ended their marriage in 2004 as it was “difficult for Jemima to adapt to life in Pakistan”.
The PTI emerged as the third largest party in the May 2013 election and formed its government in the northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Khan has announced a long march on Islamabad on August 14 against what he calls massive rigging in the last general elections. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s government has already called the army to maintain order. Critics believe the army will be deployed in the capital on August 14 to stop Khan’s march.
Yesterday, Imran Khan warned the government against denying his party its constitutional right to protest on August 14. “If the government tries to put me under house arrest, I promise you, we will shut down the whole country,” Imran told a PTI workers’ convention in Lahore.
He promised to lead a million-man march to the federal capital. “And our sit-in will not end until we make a new Pakistan,” he said, calling young members of his party to prepare for the rally.

Bomb kills religious leader, guards in Dera Ismail Khan,
A bomb killed a Pakistani religious leader and two of his guards as they travelled to a celebration at a northwestern shrine on Monday, the police said. Monday's bomb attack took place as a crowd of thousands gathered at a Sufi shrine near the city of Dera Ismail Khan where the religious leader, Faqir Jamshed, was due to preside at a function. The attack killed Jamshed and his guards

So Sayeeda Warsi’s liberal veneer peeled off and there was a reversion to viewing all manner of things through green tinted glasses of Mohammadden religion. Having said that there is no chance of Sayeeda Warsi surrendering her UK passport and taking up Pakistani nationality irrespective of the green tinged Mohammadden grievance she is now nursing.
Meanwhile UK Newspaper Spectators headline reads as “Baroness Warsi was over-promoted, incapable and incompetent” . To that Spectator should have added supporter of Mohammadden Jihadi Terrorism in Jammu & Kashmir.
If she can be persuaded to quit from the Conservative party as well, that will be one less potential future irritant in relations between Conservative party led UK Government and India:
Warsi’s track-record of dubious support goes on. For instance, she expressed support for Kashmiri terrorist groups who she described as engaged in freedom fighting.
Spectators headline is not the only negative one in the UK. One more uncomplimentary headline dealing with the Pakistani origin politicians resignation :

What's so confusing, hain? Khan wants to avoid any misconception that he has "leanings" or "orientations" towards ...er...other beings. By getting married, such village-well gossip will stop immediately and he will go on to "produce" a dozen offsprings to allay future "misgivings".

Didnt she claim that there was "Freedom fighting" going on in Cashmere?
Warsi has also entered the fray over the highly sensitive issue of Kashmir and, according to the Press Association, suggested in a July 2005 BBC One Politics Show interview that new antiterror laws should not prevent support among Britons for "freedom fighters" in Kashmir. Comparing Islamic rebels in the disputed province with Nelson Mandela and the ANC, Warsi observed that: We have a community in Britain, a Pakistani and Kashmiri community, who holds a very, very strong view about Kashmir and the scope of freedom-fighting in Kashmir. It would concern me if… the definition of terrorism was to cover maybe (the) legitimate freedom-fight in Kashmir.
At least two Pakistani paramilitary soldiers were killed and six others wounded today by separatists in the restive southwestern Baluchistan province bordering Iran and Afghanistan, officials said.
The rebels opened fire at a post of the Baluchistan Constabulary paramilitary force around 40 kilometres south of Quetta, the capital of Baluchistan province.
"The incident took place at around 6:00 in morning in Mastung region. We have received reports that two soldiers have been killed and six others are wounded," said Akbar Durrani, home secretary of the province.

So much for pretensions of the citizens of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan that Bedouin Arabs view them as anything more than a bunch of Miskeens . Saudi Arabia has reportedly passed a law that ban’s Saudi Arabian men marrying women from the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. And in an embarrassing situation for Pakistan in Glasgow, the table tennis team was stopped by the organises as they didn’t have a proper uniform.
“It was an embarrassing situation for Pakistan,” a source told Dawn. “It indicates the lack of preparedness and seriousness of Pakistani federations.
“The organisers stopped two female Pakistani players from taking part in the table tennis competition, as they were not wearing proper uniform however, Indian players provided them proper kit and they were then able to participate.”

The YLH guy is fond of writing historical fiction. For example, he tries to whitewash Jinnah as a minority loving secularist who had no option but to incite riots to get Pakistan to thwart the plot of communal minority hating congress party. The fact that they are still debating in Pakistan as to whether Jinnah was a secularist or an islamist (or in my opinion most probably a self absorbed ego-maniacal opportunist) means that Jinnah himself had no vision for Pakistan except for "Make us rulers else we wont play with you, and make our own country".
Now the fella seems to have given some takleef to a mullah types who has accused him of being an ahmadi sympathizer. For which he has replied
Yasser Latif Hamdani @theRealYLH · 12h
For the record I am neither an Ahmadi nor connected in any way to the Gujranwala incident as I have been accused.
I am sure the secular Jinnah's Pakistan will protect him. Or if he is afraid to go back to his country, I am sure the reasonable people of communal minority hating India will find some arrangement to put him up.
As an aside, someone I know once made up a riddle
Q: How do you escape death if someone stops you in Pakistan and asks you "Are you a Shia?"
A: You say "Hey look!! That guy is an Ahmadi!!"

Clearly despite all talk of Mohammaddenism being an egalitarian religion there is a pecking order in among Mohammadden majority countries. In that pecking order the Islamic Republic of Pakistan along with the other Muslim majority country of the Indian Sub-Continent is relegated to the rank of second class Mohammaddens despite their claims of being of Arab ancestry after rejecting their Hindu identity:
The official { Makkah Police Director Maj. Gen. Assaf Al-Qurashi } said Saudi men have been prohibited from marrying expatriate women from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Chad and Myanmar.

I am not sure if this has been posted before. But I feel this has to be kept as a matter of record.
I have always felt that Najam Sethi is a person whose views were quite balanced. I also know that he has been arrested and tortured by ISI for his writings in The Friday times. However, after listening to him in Aapas Ki Baat, it is quite apparent that he has deep contacts within Nawaz Sharief's party as well as PPP and he, from time to time, becomes a pure "lifafa" journalist. Especially when he goes abroad and talks in the US.
This is one such video. It was recorded around 2009/2010 so it is a bit dated.
But listen to how he presents the army line with so much arrogance. He is basically claiming that India is checkmated by the Pak Army.
I find this absolutely fascinating. Since 2009/2010 however, the ground situation has changed in Afghanistan. For instance -- Abbotabad happened, Karachi Airport was bombed and Zarb-e-Azb is on-going. We will see the mother of all blowbacks shortly. For instance -- Lal Masjid got the Marriot in Islamabad.
India had to do nothing. What can India do to the Pakis that they won't do to themselves? Fat good their "Nuclear Deterrance" will do.

PESHAWAR: Members of the Sikh community in Peshawar came under attack on Wednesday, with one killed and two injured in a firing incident. Following the attack, protestors took to the streets and burnt tyres blocking roads including the grand Trunk (GT) road in Peshawar.
My question : If the Sikhs are being "decimated" in Pakistan in general and Peshawar in Particular then why don't the pack their bags and migrate to India?

My opinion (TIFWIW): Lots of reasons (many are still conjectures):
1. Stockholm syndrome (Youtube is full of minorities that sing praises of paki muslims and how well they are taken care of)
2. Love for their land outweighs the desire to get up and leave for good.
3. Past Indian government policies. Recent migrant Hindus and Sikhs are still living in camps with no visas.
4. Paki politics that creates an artificial space for minorities to be represented but does not provide any voice
5. Fear (!!) (if one member of a family leaves, what will happen to the remaining folks)
6. Hindus and Sikhs have historically done well under stress. Note: Hindus in k'rachi and hydra-bad.
7. Hostage to their situation- minorities cant complain or vote with their feet.
8. For minorities living in NWFP and Balochistan, the closest exits are Afghanistan and Iran - that's even a bigger nightmare.
9. Financial - either they are too poor to leave or have too much vested in the local economy.
10. Some Hindus and Sikhs have done genuinely well and have too much to lose.

Known as a city of migrants, Karachi and its inhabitants are not usually considered the most welcoming hosts but for Hakeem Sardar Manmoon Singh Peshawari, a Pashto-speaking Sikh from the Khyber Agency, it has become home to his family and practice.
The young hakeem from valley Tirah spends his Wednesdays at the Hakeem Peshawari’s clinic at Masan Chowk – a Pashtun area near Karachi port – prescribing medicines to a growing line of patients
He is among the few Pashto-speaking Sikhs in the city who migrated from Khyber Agency due to the worsening situation in Afghanistan and surrounding tribal areas after the 9/11 attacks in 2001.
“I was in Kabul in late 2001 but it became impossible to live there. That is when I moved to Karachi and opened a private clinic in Hub,” explained Peshawari. “Later, I shifted to Clifton.”
Apart from his nine family members who live with him in Karachi, the rest are in Peshawar. “We are all Pashtuns and our forefathers came from Afghanistan. We are original Sikhs and have been strictly following our religion for centuries.”
They settled in Peshawar, Orakzai, Kurram Agency, and North and South Waziristan and since then, have made a name for themselves in the fields of herbal medicine and cloth.
This year, the Sikhs of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa feel that the harmony has been disturbed. Harjeet lost his brother, Paramjeet, also a hakim, in a target killing incident on March 13.
“We have been living here forever,” he said. “Our ancestors died here and while we never wanted to leave the area, we might have to because of the security concerns.”
He added that they did not want to leave the land of their grandfathers, and while it breaks their hearts, if the situation remains miserable for them, they will have to do so.
