India bans import of refined palm oil: Govt notification
The move to ban palm oil comes at a time when New Delhi is trying to curb imports from Malaysia following criticism from Kuala Lumpur on India's actions in the Kashmir region and its new citizenship law. India imports most of its refined palm oil from Malaysia and crude palm oil from Indonesia.

As an aside, this also explains how the left got IG to shove the words "secular" and "socialist" into the preamble of the Indian constitution thereby opening up the country for the conversion jehadists.
The BIF doesn't ever miss a trick to secure their world domination agenda.
the restrictions as to how many PhD students a "professor" can "guide" at any given time is hitting hard at these PhD factory maliks and these restrictions have been brought in by the current VC which is why the JNU teachers union is so keen to get rid of him.
The earlier number of 40 odd PhD students has been brought down to 8 PhD students which is now the limit that these goondagardhi "professors" can guide.
savita bhabbi type PhDs should be banned along with the idiot professors who agreed and accepted to guide such kanhaiya kumar type doctoral candidates.
Some pliant and commie/naxal/congi pasand baboo(n)s from the MHRD who are also in league with these PhD factory malik "professors" seem to be actively involved in trying to circumvent the VC's ruling

JNU issue - there are a total of ~8000 students at JNU. Of this, the lion’s share of 57% students is of social sciences, language, literature & arts (4578 students) & International studies 15% ( 1210 students). Almost 55% of the total i.e. 4359 students are doing M.Phil. or Ph.D
Cost of running such University: Just how much does government spends on JNU? Look at the Profit & Loss account of JNU for 2018. This is hidden somewhere in the middle of an 600 page annual report. It should be the first section on annual reports.
So JNU spends about Rs 556 crores per year on its functioning. So what is the cost per student at JNU ? We can calculate. Rs 556 crore / 8000 students gives us Rs 6.95 lac per student annually.
Research, publications & patents at JNU: Assumption is that such high subsidy on "good talent" would be producing great research outcomes, right? Well, hardly. There are no concrete claims on research & publications, no names of journals or publications worth mentioning.
You’ll find some mention of research in the placement brochure (yes they have one, although very superficial & doesn’t disclose any statistics about past placements). Here is what you’ll see in the name of research at JNU:
With 4360 students in M.Phil. & Ph.D. courses, there are hardly 1000 research “articles” published in Journals. The university doesn’t name any notable journals while making such claims. This implies that there is just ONE “article” published for every 4.5 students each year.
There is huge participation in international conferences. So about 2000 international conferences are attended every year. Again, not sure what materializes in those conferences. Certainly not the research papers or patents.
But there should be some patents at-least ? All that we find for patents is 4 names of Mr. Bhatnagar, Ms. Dixit, Mr Kar & Mr. Mukherjee. No patents by any other faculty. Number of patents by students ??? Try searching…….I did not find any results. So much for 600 PH.Ds every yr
So is the fee hike Justified ? Why punish the meritorious students? Firstly, in view of the data above, it doesn’t appear that there is much focus on output or getting laurels for the nation at JNU. Now, let’s look at the “fee” the students pay to study at the university.
The numbers you are looking at are not in thousands or lacs. These are what they are in INR. So Rs 240 is the entire tuition fee paid by JNU student. Aside, they pay a generous Rs 6 for library & Rs 40 as refundable security deposit. Any research paper on how the fee is so low?
IIT Delhi which is located close by charges about Rs 2.25 plus lac annually & IIMs charge about Rs 5 to 10 lac per year. We don’t see any strikes at those places. Students know they need to jump into the job market, start their earning life & also repay their student loans
JNU is free of any such thoughts or troubles. Probably the reason why students have much time left to create new troubles of their own. Ideology or idle mind, you decide.
I don’t want to conclude any political thoughts here. But the data from official sources of the university help us infer a lot of ideas. JNU is a perfect example of bad socialism. If you give something for free, people have no incentive to work & earn.
Why would anyone at JNU be in a hurry to find jobs or even publish research. In a nation where we’re are hardly able to educate our children thru primary schools, JNU stands tall as an example of socialist elitism at its best.
The students may have all the time for doctoral courses, the nation is certainly running out of money to pay for these scholars.Surprised that this social reform idea never came out from JNU that claims to be the study centre on social sciences? Irony died a quite death !!

Malaysia-India Relations: What Does a Palm Oil Ban Mean Amid the Kashmir Dispute Fallout?
Reports of an effective ban are just the latest indicator of how an ongoing diplomatic row dating back to last year has complicated bilateral ties.
By Prashanth Parameswaran
January 09, 2020
On Wednesday, reports surfaced that India had imposed what amounted to an effective ban on refined palm oil targeting Malaysia following an ongoing diplomatic row between the two countries set off by the Kashmir issue. The development has highlighted one of a series of complicating factors in relations between the two Asian states.
Strategically, the relationship between India and Malaysia has been on the uptick in recent years despite occasional differences that have surfaced on issues such as trade, with ties elevated to an enhanced strategic partnership in 2015 under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Act East Policy” and the former Malaysian government under Prime Minister Najib Razak. But then the Pakatan Harapan government came to power in a shock election in May 2018. As Malaysian foreign policy developed under returning premier Mahathir Mohamad there had been indications of differences emerging in aspects of Malaysia-India relations, including increased engagement with Pakistan and the refusal to extradite controversial Islamic preacher Zakir Naik to India.
As I have noted before in The Diplomat Magazine, the biggest flare up in Malaysia-India ties came following Mahathir’s remarks on the Kashmir issue in his remarks to the United Nations last September. In his address at the 74th session of the UN General Assembly on September 27, Mahathir suggested that New Delhi had “invaded and occupied” Jammu and Kashmir, a disputed Muslim-majority region also claimed by Pakistan. India had made the controversial move of stripping its portion of the Kashmir Valley of statehood and autonomy in August. Despite initial indications of Indian discontent – including a statement from the foreign ministry and suggestions of economic restrictions – and comments from Malaysian officials that both sides were managing the issue, Mahathir himself had refused to retract his comments.
This week, we saw another indication of the continued significance of the Kashmir dispute in Malaysia-India relations. Following mulled restrictions that had surfaced earlier, India issued what amounted to an effective ban on imports of refined palm oil in a move intended to target Malaysia following the dispute.
India’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry issued a notification on Wednesday noting that the import of refined palm oil had been amended from “free” to “restricted,” the clearest indication thus far from the Indian government of restrictions in this area. Reuters reported that multiple anonymous sources had mentioned that the notification amounted to an effective ban on imports of refined palm oil in an effort by the Modi government to target Malaysia following Mahathir’s comments.
How exactly this will affect the overall bilateral relationship remains to be seen. At the time of writing, we have yet to see an official high-level reaction from either government. And even thereafter, the specific economic impact and the wider consequences for ties will only become clear with time, more details, and reactions from both sides.

JNU has been used by the Left to further its political agenda
JNU has been used by the Left to further its political agenda
In 1983, leftist politics on campus became so violent and uncontrollable that the university had to be closed for a year.
Srinivas
January 9, 2020
It is worth noting that during the Emergency when there was opposition to the authoritarian government all over the country, a section of the communists of JNU were silent, says Srinivas.
The recent incident at Jawaharlal Nehru University can be understood only in the backdrop of the incidents of violence and chaos that have been going on for the last 50 years. The Left considers this university its stronghold and since its establishment (April 22, 1969), it has dominated JNU’s politics. Frequent violent episodes have occurred in this period.
The young today might incorrectly assume that JNU has been in the headlines only after the coming of a non-Left government in 2014. The Economic and Political weekly, a journal held in high regard by communists, carried an article on July 9, 1983, which stated: “JNU is again in news. News of the smallest incidents JNU finds prominent place in the media. This time even the BBC was fascinated by JNU.”
In 1983, leftist politics on campus became so violent and uncontrollable that the university had to be closed for a year. Even the leftist masters of propaganda will not be able to accuse someone else for the large-scale violence of that period — no other ideologies, especially the nationalist one, had been allowed to enter JNU at the time. The then vice-chancellor, P N Srivastava, told the media that rowdy students had forcefully entered his house, destroyed his property and looted his 35-year deposits. Harjit Singh, who was the warden of Jhelum Hostel, witnessed the horrors of a rampaging mob of communists breaking into his house. These teachers were accused by leftist students of being “nationalists”. In this violence, teachers who subscribed to the Left ideology were engaged in instigating the students and making plans for them. After this incident, a contingent of paramilitary forces had to be deployed in the campus for a fairly long time.
It is worth noting that during the Emergency, when there was opposition to the authoritarian government all over the country, a section of the communists of JNU were silent. This was because a major left party had declared its support for the Emergency. Many major incidents of violence also occurred in the 1990s. In 2000, a sensational case of violence in JNU was alleged in Parliament by BJP MP B C Khanduri. In the open auditorium of JNU, a mushaira was organised by leftist organisations. They had called in poets from Pakistan.
There some couplets were sung describing India as bad and Pakistan as good, and from the stage, lines were read condemning India’s action in the recent Kargil war. Two Indian soldiers —who were on leave — were sitting in audience and had themselves taken part in Kargil. They stood up to oppose what was happening. The leftists beat them up and threw them outside the main gate.
In 2005, there was a controversy on the arrival of the then Prime Minister of India to JNU, which resulted in violence. In 2010, when 76 CRPF jawans were killed in a Maoist attack in Dantewada, there was mourning across the country. But at the Godavari Dhaba in JNU, it was alleged that Left groups celebrated the event. In 2013, there was a celebration of “Mahisasura Day” and a pamphlet was distributed which disparaged Durga. Naturally the sentiments of Hindus and Sikhs were hurt by this programme.
In 2016, in JNU, the incident of the alleged slogan of “Bharat tere tukde honge” on the death anniversary of the terrorist Afzal Guru is deeply engraved in the memory of our society. Among those anti-India slogans, there was also “Aaein Hindustan ka, manzoor nahi, manzoor nahi”. “Aaein” means constitution in Persian.
The destructive politics played by the anti-India forces, using JNU as a platform, has three targets — the unity and integrity of its faith and culture and the Constitution. A university is meant to be a centre for study and research. But for the last two-and-a-half months, almost all educational activities in JNU have ceased due to aggression by some people who claim to belong to the Left. These include teachers, students and external elements as well.
The main building of the JNU administration has been occupied for the last 60 days. They also interrupted the semester examination to be held in November-December. Apart from preventing the students from going to their classrooms, these people used pressure from teachers and administrators who subscribe to Left ideology. In order to justify their actions, they sometimes mention the hostel fee as their issue, at others the withdrawal of Article 370 and more recently, the CAA.
Students affiliated to Left groups in JNU issued a decree that no student will register herself for the new semester starting January 1. If the students don’t register, then neither the class nor any examination will be conducted in the university.
The country has begun to realise that any idea that challenges the unity and integrity of India seems to have a connection with the leftists who use JNU as their base. It cannot be a mere coincidence that Naxalite, Maoist, jihadi and separatist forces always appear to find some kind of support from the leftists of JNU.
This article first appeared in the print edition on January 9, 2020 under the title ‘A history of violence’. The writer is the national joint organising secretary of the ABVP

Over time, this measure alone should bring the strength of JNU by 2-3 thousand at least, one hopes. Next step should be to cut some departments of SSS and/or cut some faculty. Let me say it again: this entire drama of lockdown even after roll back of the hostel charge hike was to remove the first non-left VC. Nothing else. Idea is to create such mayhem that JNU VC either resigns or is removed. It’s classical left-wing strong arm tactics. Oppose it...

Some of the lost ground of the shiv sena can easily be taken over by the mns and help it grow as a political party in MAH. The remaining and major portion of this vote will come to the bjp by default.
the iron is hot and it may be best to strike hard now.
of course, the mns has a bigger chip on it's shoulder than the SS and raj is even more desperate to become the CM.
this time around the bjp's grip on the testimonials will be so excruciating as to obviate the potential wandering eye and the embryonic soaring ambition of traitorous allies.
If this is accomplished before the bihar elections, it will put the fear of god into many a potential fence straddler wistfully eying greener pastures

BTW RT is an out-and-out unprincipled lout.

The revolutionary intellectuals never have questioned
* How can certain communities, with old linkages going back to invasions and colonization, be minority if they are not minorities outside.
Time and again this point comes up as key point but our intellectual s do no good in this case until uneven surface of discussion turns into lopsided debates where desis look bad and worse simply because of diversity.
* How to 'resist' pseudo-lefty takeover by semi-regional parties (read communist movement connected/hiding above point 1 powers-that-be) that force movements towerds Mughalstein/neo-colonial short of one/two steps.

Re: 2020 Strategic and Political Analysis-1
this is from shampoo boy tharoor's tweet,
tharoor, a poor excuse for a human being and one who has the eternal priapic eye is holding forth against the religion of his birth.
The comparison for Hindutwa is that it has all the elements of being inflexible, intolerant, having one dogmatic and primary book, deep hatred of other religions all of which go to making Hindutva baneful and venomous.
But shampoo boy says nothing about these very same attributes and aspects which when preserved unchanged for centuries and rigidly espoused as a fundamental and inviolable part of their religion by malsis and xtians, they become uncontestable, guaranteed and safeguarded not just by special and personal religious freedom, but also special communal rights assured to them by separately enforceable personal laws.
His idea of Hindutwa is identical to these dogmatic minority religions in word and deed but he is clearly unable to see it but the freedom to practice is to be allowed only for the minorities and not for the majority.
How is shampoo boy not mentally diseased to even forward such poisonous comparisons.
There is absolutely no difference between Hinduism and Hindutwa,
except in the brainwashed minds of these conversion mafia driven
congis/commies/naxals/malsis/xtians and the BIF.
Is shampoo boy even aware of what he is saying or endorsing
There is no comparison of Hindutwa that can ever be done with such narrow minded, restrictive, dogmatic, destructive, exclusive and violently proselytizing religions, both with a declared end game of world domination.
shampoo boy does not realize that every comparison in the Hindutwa column is exactly applicable to islam and xtianity and not to Hinduism.

An interesting, though incomplete, comparative table doing the rounds.

Re: 2020 Strategic and Political Analysis-1
LOL @ priapic eye
So just do a comparison between "Hindutva," Islam, and Christianity using the very same points (right column entries will be the same for all three). Ergo, if Hindutva is sinister and undesirable, then what are Islam and Christianity? If Islam and Christianity are okay, then so is Hindutva.
Or do a comparison between Hinduism (columns on left) and Islam and Christianity (using the same column entries on the right as for Hindutva). So again, if Hindutva is sinister, then what are the implications for Islam and Christianity?
This is a self-goal by Tharoor (just to make clear: he tried to score against Hinduism, but scored against his own side instead).

Re: 2020 Strategic and Political Analysis-1
Playing devil's advocate here: This is so stupid I can replace Hindutva with Islam in the right side column and reach the conclusion Hinduism is opposite of Islam. This is contrary to premise he began with. I can't believe this passes for intellectualism in our society.
His saying is that only Islam can have all the regressive attributes described under Hindutva column but not Savarkar's Ideology. He won't criticize Islam for the same reason he is willing to criticize Hindutva.
In short this post at once conveys his lack of intellect, intellectual honesty and selective criticism (which is my INC is despised).

Came across a curious Video about the reason for DP going to JNU and joining the Demos.
One reason put forth is the leftist/jihadi combine using DP and 'Chaapak' against 'Tanhaji' which has anti-pissfuls content and strongly promoted by right wingers!!

Absolutely. We should edit Hindutva for Islam and recirculate this pamphlet.

Seriously. I suspect that such a Fan Club will be very shortlived here but may find tolerance on the Tech/Econ/Social forum - then again, those folks take themselves more seriously than the warriors on the MILForum. (I once wondered aloud on the pissicks dhaga whether the "LIGO" discovery of 2 Black Holes in hanky-panky was perhaps timed to coincide with funding decision for LIGO and promptly got Fatwa'ed out of there faster than Salman Rushdie by the Ayatollah, and haven't dared return.) I followed Christine fair on twitter till a few days back. Supposedly JNU was a premier institution which had never seen violence till now. Theres a big flock lapping it all up.
I was blocked when I called out a fake story doing the rounds about Amitshah's goons throwing acid in JNU. Fair herself added weight to the story.
I did not bother to check the source of the story.
What's curious is that this was at least a few days before Mrs. Deepika acid went to JNU.

Re: 2020 Strategic and Political Analysis-1
My prediction is the next stage in this is the use of deep fakes to make convincingly realistic but utterly false videos. Not one of Modiji himself, but of second rung leaders saying borderline outrageous and controversial items. The aim here is not what the false content is in itself but to provide a constant cause to keep the riots and demonstrations and sense of outrage going.
The costs of generating a deep fake have come down a lot and you can do one yourself like this guy did. Seems to be scarily almost point and click..

Guys, on another political note, I see a lot of Congoon led libtards make a big deal about FM Nirmala SeetharamanJi missing from PM ModiJI's NITI Ayog economic summit. Has this been discussed here? Is there any truth to this hype our as is usually the case, much ado about nothing?
