The US wants to make a deal with Iran. However the bottom line is no nukes, no special deals for China on oil and so on. What is in it for Iran? Iran gets all sanctions removed and it resumes normal trade with the world. This could mean regime change and the mullahs gone. The current War continuing is harmful for Iran since it will be pounded to stone age and the quicker they settle the war the better.

These meetings will be there since Russia is trying to wean China away from the US. U R I C dynamics is being dictated by all the players and none of them will emerge as a clear winner. Why is this so? U R C are purely dabbling in power projection in the world and that is going nowhere. India is the rising power and taking advantage of the other three wherever it deems fit. You will see another round of overt reach out to India by US since its other game with R C is for naught - the stalemate wil persist for a long time. Iran is screaming at the top of its lungs that there's no restriction for India.

Not even 48 hours had passed since Modi ji signed the agreement in the UAE, and suddenly Iran opened up the Strait of Hormuz especially for India. The big reason behind this is believed to be the UAE's exit from OPEC.

OPEC, meaning the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, was formed in 1960 to control oil production and prices.

Later, the UAE also became a part of it.

But during the Middle East war, due to Iran's attacks on several UAE oil refineries and other reasons, the UAE left OPEC.

India and UAE's relations have been strong from before. After the CEPA agreement in 2022, India saw the opportunity, and Modi ji prepared a major energy and trade framework in just a two-hour meeting.

India told the UAE that it would buy its oil, but payments would not be in dollars, rather in rupees and dirhams. The UAE saw a benefit in this because it could strengthen the global value of the dirham.

After this, the UAE made a big agreement with India, and it was agreed to provide nearly 95% tariff relief in several sectors. Projects including leather, furniture, food, medicine, hardware, and more will be sent from India to the UAE.

India also assured the UAE of strategic security support. It was said that if needed, India would cooperate in securing UAE's ports and important locations.

The UAE is now going to invest 5 billion dollars in India. Through banking frameworks like RBL, India-UAE trade will be in rupees and dirhams, which will boost both production and exports in India.

That's why, when Modi ji was returning from the UAE, UAE's F-16 fighter jets escorted his aircraft with protection all the way out.

Apparently DJT allowed some Iran oil flow via hormuz to China. US bottom line is no nukes. Iran is being sqeezed by China, since the US permitted the oil but wanted pressure on Iran to settle with the US. The hormuz opening is being relegated to irrelevance by KSA, UAE, Oman, etc by opening up alternate ports. IMECC is now possible. Iran's cash in gulf countries is under a freeze. The hormuz choke point is appearing more like an empty road for Iran. The houthis have a deal with KSA, since Iran has not paid them. Israel, India and Somalia have an understanding to keep Red Sea route for IMECC. Increasingly, Iran is at a cross roads where they may have to settle with the US and re-open things in the hormuz.

There is an article which discusses the 4 waves - immediate impact, trading system changes are permanent, impact on global south, damages on social contracts. Pakland is under severe economic stress and apparently Iran may pay some money for being the go-between with the US on negotiation. Qatar is facilitating such moves. Israel is objecting with the US on such deals. Putin's china visit is about Russia selling more oil to China. However for gas Russia is insisting that China pay for pipelines from Siberia to China to ship gas to China.
