Yes, even our Ambani ke bacche (Mukes and Anil) went to Stenfud and Whartun for Yem Bee Yay. I bet their grades or GMAT score never figured in the equation.
And Nadar's saab's beti went to Kellogg for MBA and is now CEO.

It's all fixed.

Pakistan to buy Chinese attack helicopters if Turkey and US fail to deliver

Gareth Jennings, London - Jane's Defence Weekly

https://www.janes.com/article/94566/pak ... to-deliver

In January 2016 it was announced that Bell had been awarded a contract for 12 AH-1Zs, and in April 2017 Jane's reported that the first three of 12 would be delivered in mid‐2017, with a second order to follow. However, the aircraft were yet to be delivered, and while there has been no official statement concerning reasons for delay it is understood to result from the current strained Pakistan-US relations.

Does it mean that among other things, Indian buy of Apaches is convincing US to refrain from similar sales to Pakistan?

All Dem candidates have to satisfy the woke crowd's tests of purity to differing extents from Bernie at one end (maximum wokeness) to Bloomberg (lowest). So their statements about India/Modi govt. (fascist!!) and Muslims (innocent victims of a pogrom!!!) will be as per their position in the woke hierarchy and their intentions to climb that hierarchy in some cases.

Sanders is the US's " last Socialist", who would like a return to the equiv. of the USSR lifestyle ,where everyone got a job, free education, holidays ,at state expense, but based upon an economy that couldn't support the state welfare schemes.Even Russia has abandoned that style of Communism and while former E.Germans are nostalgic about those days,Sander's socialist medicine will be defeated come Nov. even if he wins the Demo's nod.

As for his comments about India, while we object to his statements,we too must keep our house in order to avoid having to combat firangis diplomatically as well.

I listened to him in last two donkey debates and must agree. He is no more real "socialist" than I am. He is as cynical as they come, in pandering to the worst la-la-land dreams of losers. Blatant hatred towards anyone who works hard and makes money (oh, yeah, he became a Senator without any hard work or money, and now earns only 0.25M a year + free infinite medical care..) As stinky an oiseule as they come. **TOTALLY*** fraudulent.

But by American arms and the cutting edge of IAF being somewhat American, one signals to the Chinese, our main rivals - that India now is similar as is South Korea or Japan or Taiwan - a strong neighbour who is also caging the Panda in a cage of steel.

When your neighbour strongly believes in Shadow-Play, as the Chinese do, then better engage them with some Shadow's of our own.

I have Chinese friends - and used to have good strategic discussions with them - they were frankly horrified that India could get American arms and ammo. The JSF in particular.

That's the reason to get American arms and ammo. Nothing says war-fighting capability like 700 billion USD spent annually and nothing says that one is serious about one's political objectives, than getting into that supply chain.

I want India to be part of the biggest arms supply chain in the world, the US one.

India stands to gain most from supply-chain disruptions, FDI pipeline doubles to $175 billion: UBS
India is expected to be a big beneficiary of the ongoing trade battle between US and China. Evidence of this trend is already visible from foreign direct investment (FDI) pipeline doubling to $175 billion from last year’s $87 billion. Given the rise in protectionism and tariff barriers, corporations are looking at shifting supply chains . UBS, the world’s largest wealth manager, in its US CFO survey found that 76% of the respondents have either shifted their supply chain or are planning to shift in response to protectionist policies such as trade tariffs and India continues to be among the top destinations in Asia for manufacturing shift.

While FDI in India has increased in the last one year, there has been interest from global companies to set up manufacturing facilities for not only electronics but also heavy manufacturing as well. India’s current FDI pipeline has doubled and key focus sectors include construction, electronics, infrastructure, textiles, food processing, pharma among others. Even while analyzing the earnings transcripts of 44 global companies there has been increased references to ‘India’ and ‘trade war’ and spot nuances in language signify a potential relocation of manufacturing to India.

Pete Buttigieg drops out of Democratic race for White House- BBC
Pete Buttigieg, the former Indiana mayor who made an ambitious run for president, has announced he is ending his campaign for the White House.

The 38-year-old became the first openly gay presidential candidate from a major party when he announced he was running for the Democratic nomination.

But despite a successful start, his campaign lost momentum in recent weeks.

His decision to drop out comes ahead of a key day on Tuesday in the Democratic race to take on Trump.

Fourteen states will vote on Super Tuesday, by the end of which staunch left-winger Bernie Sanders could have an unbeatable lead and be a step closer to the nomination.

His departure leaves six Democrats still in the running - Joe Biden, Mr Sanders, Michael Bloomberg, Elizabeth Warren, Amy Klobuchar and Tulsi Gabbard.

Now Biden and DT may be the race. DMC bent on keeping Burnee out at any cost so they have selected Biden. Pete and Amy bibi have withdrawn. Warren will keep in the race to ensure Burnee do not get out sight majority to win in the first round at the convention and Super Delegates will have their chance in the second round. NC has not done yet. It will have new rulers and ideas to keep Burnee out.

Biden unlikely to be powerful candidate who can take on DT and win.

For those in the US, just received this via email from HAF, seems like PJ is making some moves, PLiss TO DO NEEDFUL IT GOES IN TOMORROW!:
I was on Capitol Hill all last week and one thing is clear Rep. Jayapal's anti-India H. Res. 745 is gaining momentum.

The House Foreign Affairs Committee (HFAC) is scheduled to hold a vote on Wednesday, March 4th on a series of bills. Right now, H. Res. 745 is not on the agenda, but Rep. Jayapal and her allies are pushing HFAC Chairman Eliot Engel (D-NY) hard to vote on this bill.

We have to stop them now because if H. Res. 745 does get added to the agenda then it's already too late.

Pocahontas goes Full Jihadi

http://www.opindia.com/2020/03/elizabet ... ti-muslim/
Senator Elizabeth Warren, a Democratic presidential aspirant for the 2020 Elections, has condemned ‘anti-Muslim violence’ in India and committed herself to “fighting for the rights and freedom of the people of Kashmir”. The Senator from Massachusetts hasn’t been performing very well in the Democratic Primaries thus far and going into Super Tuesday, the momentum is decisively against her.

The comments against India were made in a new plan Elizabeth Warren released on Tuesday for Muslim Communities in the USA. The abrogation of Article 370 and Kashmir figure into the political equations of the USA because Radical Islamists in the country consider Kashmir to be a matter that concerns the Ummah. After Vermont Senator and Warren’s rival in the Democratic Primaries, Bernie Sanders, made a pro-Jihad stance regarding Kashmir at an event organized by the ISNA which has links to terrorism, it appears Warren has decided to tread a similar trajectory.
Elizabeth Warren said in her plan, “Elizabeth knows we must stand up for those who can’t stand up for themselves. That includes speaking out against China’s cruel, bigoted treatment of its Uighur minority and to hold China accountable for its abuses; fighting for reconciliation and accountability for the atrocities committed against the Rohingya in Burma; condemning anti-Muslim violence in India and fighting for the rights and freedom of the people of Kashmir; and holding allies like Saudi Arabia to account for abuses of human rights.” As anyone aware of the nature of Kashmiri separatism knows fully well, it is Jihad that is being waged against India and any support for it is equivalent to supporting Radical Islamic Terrorism.

The Massachusetts Senator’s plan for American Muslims appears to be a desperate attempt to pander to the one community that had been left out of her pandering efforts thus far. As part of her pandering initiative, Warren had earlier announced that if she’s elected president, then any future Secretary of Education will need the approval of a transgender child she met last year. She had said that the transgender child will interview the potential Secretary of Education before any appointment is made. As it so happened, it didn’t help her with her voters and she continues to fail at winning the support of the electorate.

Elizabeth Warren has also lied about her race in the past. She claimed that she was Native American in order to gain employment as a professor at the Harvard Law Faculty. An exhaustive Boston Globe investigation in September 2018 reported that Warren’s “claim to Native American ethnicity was never considered by the Harvard Law faculty, which voted resoundingly to hire her, or by those who hired her to four prior positions at other law schools.”

Posting here as it is primarily a US view of the issue.

From Kargil to Balakot: Southern Asian Crisis Dynamics and Future Trajectories

https://www.stimson.org/2020/from-kargi ... 0b08094ab2
Executive Summary

Inadvertent escalation risks in South Asia are concerning, and likely to recur. Even in a limited engagement, the risk of India-Pakistan conflict escalation is high because India—perceiving immutable Pakistan support for terrorism—seeks disproportionality in a crisis while Pakistan seeks conventional reciprocity. Both sides routinely miscalculate the other’s resolve and maintain incompatible theories of de-escalation.

Studying and learning from past crises does not ensure prevention. The quality of learning varies significantly by country, government, and contingent political interests. Learning the “right” lessons may not necessarily translate into improved decision-making. States can also draw lessons that make them more risk-prone than risk-averse.

With Pakistan, India has traded strategic restraint for strategic risk manipulation. India has been “cumulatively emboldened” by the absence of international push-back to behave more assertively towards Pakistan, perhaps risking a commitment trap even as it retains calibrated restraint and bargaining ability when it comes to friction with China.

Deterrence and crisis instability will likely intensify alongside further strategic and conventional force modernization. Advances in precision and standoff weapons capabilities enable India and Pakistan to satisfy public demands for retaliation and demonstrations of resolve, even without results. Their incomplete adaptation of counterforce capabilities could stoke false optimism and foster risky decision-making.

Future crises can escalate sharply and rapidly, and will be less open to crisis management. Balakot was a watershed moment with several thresholds crossed more rapidly than expected. New technologies compress decision-making timelines, reducing space for de-escalation or third-party intervention. A less active or impartial U.S. role further compounds this challenge.

A host of asymmetries limit the scope of bilateral confidence-building and third-party mediation, despite U.S. stakes and a growing Chinese role. Bilateral confidence-building measures (CBMs) are hampered by asymmetries in power, interest, domestic institutions, conceptions of the status quo, and relations with great powers. Third-party involvement is constrained by asymmetric demand from the two sides, perceptions of partiality, and insufficient leverage over nuclear-armed states.

Western leftists are generally guided by the Indian leftists when it comes to India. Unlike during colonial times when missionaries and racists shaped the narrative and Indians were native informants, now the Indian leftists shape the narrative in Indian and Western media which gets picked up by Western leftists and comes back to India as 'Western narrative'. Even the Western evanjihadis use Indian leftists or Indian leftist inspired western leftists for their propaganda against Hinduism.
