By EMRE PEKER
Updated Nov. 24, 2016 9:06 a.m. ET

ISTANBUL—Turkey on Thursday said the Assad regime killed three of its soldiers in Syria, in what would be the first deadly airstrike on Turkish forces since the country launched an operation against Islamic State in August.

The attack also wounded 10 Turkish soldiers, the military general staff in Ankara said in a statement, without specifying the area that was bombed or providing additional details. The injured troops were quickly...

Not camera but GPS version of KH-25. Apparently some SyAF L-39s were upgraded

L-29s didn't have laser targeting pods but fired KH-25s anyway. Could be camera-guided versions.

had already mentioned they need to attack the south, north and west in parallel to spread the ISIS thin. they have forces but holding off and only using ISOF to penetrate the town perhaps due to american concerns over "sectarian" units...well the us army itself was 99.99% christian when it came trampling all over iraq - twice!

DAMASCUS, SYRIA (2:20 P.M.) - Egyptian fighter jets landed for the first time at the Hama Military Airport this week, the Lebanon-based As-Safir newspaper reported on Wednesday morning.

As-Safir claims that these Egyptian fighter jets will participate in the ongoing military operations against the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS), while also providing logistical support to the Syrian Arab Air Force (SAAYF).

Al-Masdar contacted the Syrian Air Force to corroborate this report by As-Safir; however, no response has been received yet to verify the validity of this claim.

Last month, several Egyptian military advisors traveled from Cairo to the Port of Tartous in order to participate in a training session with their Russian counterparts at the T-4 Airport in east Homs.

Syria's White Helmets apologize for Mannequin Challenge video http://edition.cnn.com/2016/11/24/middl ... index.html

"This video and the related posts were recorded by RFS media with Syria Civil Defense volunteers, who hoped to create a connection between the horror of Syria and the outside world using the viral 'Mannequin challenge.' This was an error of judgment, and we apologize on behalf of the volunteers involved," the statement read.
The Syrian Civil Defense was recently nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize for its work rescuing thousands of people since the Syrian conflict began over five years ago.

SouthFront: Turkish Army disrupts Syrian Army offensive in Latakia
By Chris Tomson - 24/11/20162

Following the death of 3 Turkish soldiers due to a Syrian airstrike, the Turkish Armed Forces responded with heavy artillery strikes in the Latakia governorate in support of local Islamist forces. The Turkish artillery strikes caused the Syrian Arab Army's (SAA) offensive into the Turkmen Mountains to grind to a rapid halt just hours after it had begun.

With the SAA's offensive in Latakia temporarily offset by foreign intervention, government forces must now explore new routes if they are to fully defeat insurgents across Latakia.

Erdogans logistic lines are feeble and vulnerable.

He has mechanized units back in Turkey With Leopard MBTs ….which Kornet ATGM will still light up if they send across the border.
Erdogan is facing attrition loss as numerous Turk tanks have been clobbered by ATGM hits.
Turk army is hiding their losses.

Erdogan does not have overt support from half his army, esp the Kemalist/Gulenist whom he tried hard to purge under cover of coup.

Turkish trolls on Southfront or Russia Insider say the Turk opp is going seamlessly.

Awesome …The Syrian Airforce has just clobbered…… this seamless operation : )

Russia could give Syria real time Intel on where key Turk field commanders/command is in Northern Syria.
Should Erdogan push back, the next act by Syria could be decapitation of Turk command.
Such drama would not be lost on Turk military that Russia is going to match each move
And play 3 moves ahead : )

SAA need not tolerate the Turks anymore.

Russians revealing the intelligence they had on what Obomber planned to do with Syria which forced them to intervene on Sept 2015

Russia ‘prevented’ potential NATO launch of 624 cruise missiles in Syria – Defense Minister

https://www.rt.com/news/356054-russia-n ... ike-syria/

Moscow’s actions following the Syrian chemical weapons attack in 2013 could as well have saved the country from a possible massive strike by NATO forces, Sergey Shoigu, Russia’s defense minister, said. Such a strike could have involved over 600 cruise missiles, he added.

“What would’ve happened if our president [Vladimir Putin] failed to be convincing and implement the idea of surrendering and destroying the chemical weapons? If we only talk about cruise missiles … 624 cruise missiles, as far as I remember, were prepared to carry out a massive strike against Syria within 24 hours,” Shoigu told state television channel Rossiya-24.

It would’ve been “very hard” to restore the Syrian state structure after such a large-scale attack, he said.

Back in 2013, US President, Barack Obama, authorized strikes against Syria, blaming Assad’s government for a sarin gas attack on a rebel-held suburb of Damascus.

But Russia’s involvement managed to avert NATO attacking the county as Moscow brokered a deal, during which Syria renounced its chemical weapons arsenal and joined the Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, Stockpiling and Use of Chemical Weapons and on their Destruction.

east aleppo continues to crumble slowly as liwa al quds and SAA crawl in from various directions. important and fat jihadis getting killed daily.

4000 sunni civilians have fled from tal afar to peshmerga areas or to live under ISIS in syria saying they feared the PMU would extract vengeance for alleged collaboration by the sunnis and atrocities on the shias. the PMU has however promised not to enter the town but will let iraqi army, tribal militias and anyone else willing have a go at it. I think thats a sound strategy - kill the daesh on open plains and let the sikular certified wade into the towns. whatever they do the PMU will get demonized so best to sit this one out.

Elsewhere today it was reported ISIS tyrant Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi had executed one of his closest confidants, Abu Abdullah, for fear he would give away crucial secrets if captured in the battle for Mosul.

Baghdadi ruthlessly ordered Abu Abdullah be killed along with this wife and three children at a house to the west of the city, a source told Alsumaria News.

A source said: 'Abu Abdullah was Baghdadi's box of secrets and a close confidant who organized his personal mails and arranged his meetings with field commanders.'

Abu Abdullah and his family reportedly vanished two weeks ago, as the Iraqi Army threw a noose around the city, and they had been hiding in a dilapidated house.

Baghdadi is reportedly sleeping in tunnels with a suicide vest after becoming increasingly paranoid about his closest advisers.

As paranoia continues to grow within the top ranks of the murderous organisation, dozens have been executed after being accused of spying.
More than 50 were reportedly drowned in cages after SIM cards showed they had been contacting coalition forces.

Aleppo – After being exposed to bombardment by Turkey’s military, the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on Thursday targeted positions of the Turkish army forces in northern Syria with heavy artillery.

“The SDF launched an artillery attack against the Turkish forces in the northern countryside of Aleppo,” Sadoun Othman, an SDF member, told ARA News.

At least three Turkish military vehicles were destroyed in the attack.

Looking at the Zinki battlefied casualties in Northern Aleppo. It seems as if the Hanano sector was loosely guarded, they never expected the SAA tiger forces to make a pitch for it.

The Tiger Forces have deeply penetrated the terrorists’ defensive lines in Hanano district and advancing to over half of it, this is a very large district in NE Aleppo, losing it will basically trap the terrorists in the large Haydariyah District

http://wikimapia.org/#lang=pt&lat=36.22 ... 4&z=15&m=b

It is important to wait until the dust settle, the defensive collapse was severe but the risk of counter attack is also high.
