While its good to be cautious and alert all potential targets, it look slike a Karnataka elections related blast with a specific political party office as a target.
Maybe they want to trigger riots?

That INC leader is he local or national?

If he is local he should be arrested for provocative speech and given some good treatment in police guest house.

It is just sad for the Banglorians as this happened before the mess is going to be cleared by the next beutiful governement under the expected congress rule is going to start. Because it is impossible to do terror under Karnataka-Congress rule, the terrorists did this in haste and due to haste they could not get their casuality count higher.

How come Boston thread has so many posts? Is it B'Lore/India is expected to be attacked? Note majority of those injured are policemen.

Seeing the trend all these years from public reaction to political one the answer is YES.

agree with shiv. lack of governance has caused major problems for blr in particular and ka in general. the entire cast of ministers pursuing quixotic ideas rather than address important issues.

ramana, it could be because of the political angle this is turning out to be. normally, if this is all congress-bjp goonda-giri, then indic people would ignore it. further more, no intl attention is drawn.. MMS would hardly know if such a bomb happened.. did it affect any political members?

If SIM card was recovered then its a cell phone trigger or still used as a timer? the bike was a stolen Yamaha with TN license plates.

Another report says that one CCTV shows a man wheel that mobike and park it there, and then go to a nearby paan shop and then disappear. Fake numberplate, but chassis and engine number have been found and that should trace the bike.

Lucky that their haste has not caused any casualties,

bangalore-blast-destroyed-bike-to-drive-probe

Bikes converted to bombs without any visible external modifications is a huge security issue. if they got it from Hyd, the person who lost it will have enough time to lodge a missing vehicle complaint. They should get a nation wide toll free number for missing, broken down and towed vehicles complaints so things move in real time in conjunction with CCTVs and RFIDs on vehicles.

I think it is better to have RFIDs/GPS enabled IDs installed in all vehicles as IDs and tags deep sealed inside the body chassis or engine. Tractability of vehicles is important for the future, as the terrorists are advancing by the days.

I would go an extend by password verification that ignition controls work too.

Looks like the bike was stolen from Andhra Pradesh and had fake TN license plate. So looks like some amount of planning to stage the attack.

Not the exact location of blast from the BJP office is given variously as 50m(Ind Exp) to 300m(Ind Today). The distance varies based on how secular the reporter is!

Glad there were no dead. Could have been worse.

With the daily increasing frustration among Indian Secularists Islamist (ISI) to Keep Indians down, We should see more and more of these kind of terrorist activities. OTOH, This only increase the wrath of Indians to amend the wrongs heaped on them by their own rulers. Every deliberate blast moves the hand on Guillotine Clock.

you will not be surprised that if we fix the rats in RE sector, then we will have more security in desh. RE sector has huge huge gaps.. and it does not benefit the common man. black money is the area, where more terrorist hide. i am saying this out of personal bias where I have faced to pay through the nose, but true, in trying to buy a decent home at desh.. nearly from 30% to 70% black money in RE. this is like a bomb itself., and waste of national tax by reduced collections. we must wake up..and will find many more pockets like this.

Last time they did godhra and got beaten up. It is kind of evident that considering the prospects of Modi becoming next pm they want to bait BJP this time. Expect more such attacks.

I think some of it at least is the lack of enough information to base posts on. With the Boston thread, there is lots of analysis going on based on multiple photos and videos. We don't have that here.

FBI did that "Crowdsourcing" with some success in #Boston investigation. Politicians may not allow that to happen here, Law enforcement too would take that as an ego issue.

Scant coverage if any in the western media about the Blore blast,Boston is top dog-only to be expected. When do they ever show the wailing women and children in Af-Pak after a USA drone has massacred dozens of innocents? same with the Blore blast.India does not matter when terrorism strikes it,as as far as the US is concerned ,India "deserves it" being nasty to poor innocent misunderstood Pakistan. If a firang was killed in the Blore blast,we would've had a footnote in the western media.

Now for our own leadership. What has the Congress done? Implied that the BJP was behind the blast,by saying that they would benefit from it.What utter scumbags and sh*t worms. The puppeteers in Pak must be rolling over with laughter at us,so easy to inflict wounds upon Mother India. The PM cares a hoot,he says nothing-shown no qualities of leadership when compared with Obama in the US, and his party is likely to gain the most in Karrnataka thanks to BJP infighting! Truly the Gods are having a "blast' at our expense! To be an Indian today suffering the indignities of non-governance to the extreme and yet retain one's composure and balance requires the mentality of a yogi.

Bangalore: Terror attack near BJP office, 16 injured; NIA begins probe
The capital of Karnataka once again faced a terror strike when a bomb exploded near the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) office in Malleshwaram on Wednesday morning injuring at least 16 people including 11 police personnel. Two temples are also located near the blast site
According to the police, an improvised explosive device (IED) was used in the blast which damaged several vehicles including cars and a bus. Union Home Ministry and Bangalore Police officials said the bomb was placed on a stolen Yamaha motorcycle with a Tamil Nadu license plate. The police are now hunting for the trigger device.

CNN-IBN reports that investigators have recovered details of the SIM card and the registration of the motorcycle on which the bomb
was placed.
4:45 pm: Improvised explosive device kept on bike stolen from Hyderabad?

The improvised explosive device was reportedly kept on a motorcycle when it exploded, CNN-IBN reported.

The explosive device was placed on a motorcycle and investigators say it was stolen from Hyderabad and are presently in the process of tracing its owner, reported CNN-IBN.
MHA confirms Bangalore blast as terror strike
1.38 pm The Ind-Suzuki motorcycle in which the explosive (500 grams) was placed had a Tamil Nadu registration number and was parked there since yesterday, sources said. The explosion was carried out with a timer, it was learnt

The CCTV footage obtained at the BJP office reportedly revealed an unidentified person parking the motorbike between the two vans around 10:15 am. However the police have not yet confirmed whether they identified the person. A Tamil Nadu-registered Ind Suzuki motorbike from the 80s was used in the attack. However, the chassis number of the motorbike revealed that the vehicle was registered in Andhra Pradesh and not Tamil Nadu.

Also, said sources, the police were in possession of CCTV footage from an apartment building near the blast site
Bomb blast rocks Bangalore
The injured were admitted to KC General Hospital at Malleswaram.
Initially, it was thought to be an LPG cylinder blast. It later emerged that an improvised explosive device (pipe bomb) was mounted on a motorcycle parked barely five metres from the KSRP van. The explosive used was ammonium nitrate and the blast was triggered by a low quality timer (quartz watch), sources in the forensic lab told Deccan Herald.

It was also learnt that CCTV footage from the area showed a man parking the motorcycle. He apparently waited for 12 minutes at the spot. However, senior police officers neither denied nor confirmed this.

On July 25, 2008, nine crude bombs went off in different localities of Bangalore, killing two people and injuring 20 others. Over the next two years, the police held SIMI member Sameer Sadiq, claiming he played a key role in the attack. The investigation is yet to conclude, though the NIA has taken over the probe.

Two years later on April 17, 2010, minutes before an IPL match, two bombs, placed on the compound of the Chinnaswamy cricket stadium, went off, injuring several people. A third bomb, which failed to explode, was recovered from bushes at the nearby Anil Kumble junction.

The police alleged that Kerala-based Abdul Nasser Madani facilitated the attack through IM militants. But this case too remains open.

Terror strikes Bangalore again, 17 injured in blast outside BJP office

Investigating officials have zeroed in on a motorcycle — a TVS Suzuki Max 100 with a Tamil Nadu registration number, TN 22 R 3769, chassis number 1108F001568 and engine number 1108M05647 — which was blown to pieces in the blast which occurred at 10:28 am. The registration number has turned out to be fake, with Tamil Nadu officials reporting that the number belongs to a motorcycle of a different make — a Yamaha RX 135.

Centre says Indian Mujahideen's Bhatkal could be behind Bangalore blast
In fact, the Central security establishment are suspecting that the IM operatives on the run and also wanted for the 7/11 Mumbai and Hyderabad blasts - Yasin Bhatkal, Waqas, Tabrez and Bada Sajid - could be behind the latest Bangalore strike as well.
This pig Bhatkal and his associates need to be found quickly. They have been running amok for too long.

They might be INC assets and appear at right time where ever INC wants. So they never are caught. Its very possible there is no Bhatkal at al.

Just think. Is is possible for some goon to appear and plant bombs and disappear consistently just before he gets apprehended by MHA? And he is all over the country : Andhra, Delhi, Maharastra, Bangalore, Bhatkal, Bihar, Nepal! Just like Scarlet Pimpernal.

The law of averages says he should be in jail or dead by now. But not in India as long as INC is ruling and IB is investigating.

Possible, but if they really want to invent a bogeyman, they could have invented a communal fascist hindoo instead of a secular like Bhatkal. It would have served their purposes even better. No, I think this guy is real and the security agencies fcked up big time when they were unable to catch him after the 2010 Bangalore bombings.

at both boston and bangalore blast pics, the trees have withstood the blast better than metal vehicle boxes.. another pointer to blast proof vs strength of materials for vehicles we travel. amby days are gone, and most cars and bikes have very poor crash ratings compared to yesteryear models... they are more focused on crumple zone.
