Pakistani asylum seekers end church occupation
VIENNA: A group of mainly Pakistani asylum-seekers who have been occupying a central Vienna church since mid-December moved out on Sunday and into a monastery where they have been offered shelter, organisers said.
The high-profile protest, which involved some in the group consuming only clear soup and liquids for a month, was to press for better conditions for refugees in Austria and the European Union.
“We are happy that we can continue our efforts towards obtaining better conditions for refugees and a safe future for all in a new, open place and in regular accommodation,” said Adalat Khan, a spokesman for the protestors.
The number of people taking part in the protest in the freezing-cold church varied between several dozen and a handful. Doctors had expressed serious concerns for the health of those on hunger strike.
The protesters’ demands included being able to choose where they live, access to jobs, schools and social security, and a halt to forced deportations.
But beyond promising to improve the provision of interpreters the government gave few concessions. afp

India asks Pakistan to seek NoCs for projects in GB, AJK POK
India has asked Pakistan to get no objection certificates (NoCs) from New Delhi for building all the hydropower projects being completed in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and AJK involving funding of international donor agencies.
India has also asked Pakistan to provide detailed information about all hydropower projects being built in Gilgit-Baltistan with the funding of these international donors.
This has been communicated to Pakistan in the latest correspondence in which India has again declared Gilgit-Baltistan as its integral part.
The World Bank currently believed to be under the influence of the Indians who occupy top slots, has already refused the funding for the most strategic project of the Diamer-Bhasha dam linking it with an NoC from India.
The most revealing and perturbing disclosure is that this is the same bank that has leaked the information to New Delhi that Pakistan is building hydropower projects in Shebratan and Chilas in Gilgit-Baltistan, the correspondence reveals.
In a letter of the Foreign Affairs Director General South Asia of the Foreign Ministry written on November 28, 2012 to the Ministry of Water and Power, of which a copy is available with The News, it has been revealed that India has sought detailed information about the hydropower projects being built in Gilgit-Baltistan as New Delhi is of the view that Pakistan needs its NoCs for building all kinds of hydropower projects in Gilgit-Baltistan and AJK as the said areas are ‘integral parts of India’.
However, the letter’s excerpt shows that the Pakistan high commissioner in New Delhi has rejected the Indian assertions about Gilgit-Baltistan being an integral part of India. The Pakistan high commissioner, however, asked the authorities in Islamabad to provide information about the projects and the donor agencies from which assistance has been sought.
The high commissioner of Pakistan, according to the letter, has recommended to the Ministry of Water and Power to discourage donor agencies from seeking India’s concurrence for projects in AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan.
The letter written by Zehra Akbari, DG South Asia in Foreign Affairs, to Nargis Sethi, the then Secretary of Water and Power, on November 28, 2012 says: “Our high commissioner in New Delhi has conveyed vide his telegram of 23 November 2012 that the Indian Ministry of External Affairs has made a verbal demarche to protest Pakistan’s plans to build hydel power projects at Shebratan and Chilas in Gilgit-Baltistan and also to seek donors’ assistance for these projects. They had learned about these projects from the World Bank. Indians said that the area was an integral part of India. Our high commissioner rejected the Indian assertions about Gilgit-Baltistan being integral part of India. The high commissioner has requested information about the projects and the donor agencies from which assistance has been sought. The India high commission has also recommended that the concerned ministry should discourage donor agencies from seeking India’s NoC for the projects in AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan.”

Militants bomb four schools in Mohmand tribal region
Suspected Taliban militants bombed four boys’ schools in Pakistan’s northwestern tribal belt on Thursday, officials said, in the latest attack by militants on government educational institutions.
Only difference is now it is boys school. So looks like after girls schools are shut down they also want to make sure nanhas dont goto school as well
“All the four schools were completely destroyed, the number of schools destroyed in Mohmand is now more than 100,” Ali said.
Extremist militants opposed to co-education have destroyed hundreds of schools, mostly for girls, in northwest Pakistan in recent years.

It will also be the first time Pakistan’s estimated 500,000 “eunuchs” are eligible to seek office, after the Supreme Court in 2011 ordered the government to issue them with identity cards and to register them as voters.
But in a conservative Muslim country where sexual relations outside marriage are taboo and homosexuality is illegal, “eunuchs” are treated as sex objects and often become the victims of assault, ending up as beggars and prostitutes.

Pakhtuns and Muhajirs are victims of conspiracy: Altaf
http://dailytimes.com.pk/default.asp?pa ... 2013_pg1_4
ISLAMABAD: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain said on Sunday that “hidden (Pakjabi ) forces” have conspired to pit Pakhtuns and Mohajirs against each other to keep both the ethnic groups under-developed.“The Pakjabi elements creating differences between Pakhtuns and Mohajirs must be exposed,” Altaf urged while addressing the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Convention, which was organised by the MQM at the Kashmir House. The convention, first of its kind by the MQM to reach out to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa ahead of the forthcoming general elections was well-attended with participation from various parts of the province, especially the Hazara region.Addressing the participants via telephone, Altaf asserted that there is no conflict between the two communities and their members are being killed under a conspiracy. He even praised Bacha Khan and the ANP and said the MQM and ANP are both revolutionaries and peace-loving parties. Altaf claimed that apart from driving a wedge between the Pakhtuns and Mohajirs, attempts were being made to pitch Pakhtuns and Hazarawal against each other in the province. MQM chief took the credit of giving the name of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to former North West Frontier Province (NWFP) and said that his party demanded this name change to give identify to the people of the province because NWFP was a name given by British Raj. Altaf said he wanted a system based on justice in the country.

WHY they can use the extra gas provided by the Pipeline to blow Shias in Pakistan.
Does anyone see the Irony.
Pakistan buys the Gas on credit. Blows up Shias, does not pay up saying Terror incidents.
The Iranians have no defense, the Sunnis hate them, they can take up causes from Kashmir to Israel to Myanmar, but they are still going to be blown up.
BTW score as per TOI is 48 killed, 150 injured. Dont know how many of the 150 are critically injured.
One thing about the report though
Forty-eight dead, 150 injured in Karachi's Shia area bomb attack
Sindh province Health Secretary Suresh Kumar put the toll at 45. No group claimed responsibility for the attack.
Seems to Kaffir Hindus are involved a lot in the medical set up.

"It is a global Kanspirasy onlee" says the master nut-job conspiracy theorist.
Imran sees ‘global conspiracy’ behind Pakistan sectarian violence
a larger “global conspiracy” exists behind fueling violence between Shia and Sunni sects in Pakistan
Similar to Iraq, Lebanon and Bahrain
“Zardari does not have the time to pay attention to the situation in the country,” he said. “These corrupt politicians have become billionaires in the past five years.”
Why it has to be a conspiracy by the crusaders? Because, no true milsum will even think of harming another milsum, let alone kill him. It is written in al kitab.

Second PN Shia Commander attacked within a month in Karachi - Dawn
Lieutenant Commander S. Azeem Haider Kazmi of the Pakistan Navy, who targeted in an attack in Keamari area of the city on Feb 27, died of his wounds, DawnNews reported on Monday.
His death was confirmed by family sources, according to a DawnNews report.
The officer was on his way to the Dockyard in his private car on Feb 27 when he was targeted by gunmen.
Police said the incident took place in front of the KPT Gate No 15 on the road connecting Jinnah Bridge to Keamari Harbour.
“Lieutenant Commander Syed Azeem Haider Kazmi was driving his private car and was heading to work when attacked at around 6.40am,” said SSP West Asif Ajaz Shaikh.
He was the second naval officer to have been targeted in less than a month.
Earlier on Feb 7, Lieutenant Commander Syed Asif Hussain Kazmi and his wife were injured when an improvised explosive planted beneath his car exploded in the premises of the PNS Karsaz.
And, what does
jihadi Imran Khan say about sectarian violence ?
Imran sees global conspiracy behind Pakistan's sectarian violence
Oh yes. The 'Globe' determined 1400 years back that the best way to take on the Muslims of Pakistan was to divide them as Sunnis and Shi'a and incite one against another cunningly. The Chankian kafir Hanud joined hands with the Yahuds and the Nasaras and struck a deal 1400 years back because they did not know of any other method to overcome the Believers.

'curriculum of hate'
In many chapters outlined by NCJP, modern Hindus are referred to as “gangsters” and Christians are referred to as “violent crusaders.”According to the report, the hate content in textbooks has more than doubled since the last time they were revised. For example, some 30 Grade 5 to 10 textbooks published in Punjab, examined in 2009, were found to have 12 instances of biased material that could be considered “hate content.” In 2012, the textbooks underwent a curriculum revision. After another review, the total number of quantifiable instances of questionable or factually incorrect material went up to 33, according to Peter Jacob, the study's author.Curriculum authorities respondWhen Pakistan’s Federal Textbook Board – a government body that authorizes and reviews content published in schoolbooks – was contacted, at first they denied that there was such content. When a Monitor correspondent confronted them with the latest report by NCJP, Riaz Ahmad, head of the government curriculum committee, promised to look into itWe try our best to check such content, but since our society belongs to religious people, it is tough to bring [such] changes,.“” Dr. Ahmak says, adding that the curriculum has to respect the society it is being taught in

That Foreign Policy article about Holbrooke by Vali Nasr is a must read.
It gives insight into what is fvcked up in the US Administration and why we are on our own when it comes to Afghanistan. It paints a saintly picture of Holbrooke and how he was right all along - that is, talk to Taliban, get a political deal/adjustment going and get out.
Basically, give the keys of Afghanistan back to Pakistan through their proxies and see the country go back to stone ages...or, whatever is left of it. Not a single word about getting Pakistan to give up on Taliban and letting Afghans be on their own.
No wonder TSPA feels that it can make Americans ch@@tiya - take their dollars and kill their soldiers via proxy.

South Florida imam found guilty of financially aiding Taliban terrorists in Pakistan - FoxNewsProsecutors built their case largely around hundreds of FBI recordings of conversations in which Khan expressed support for Taliban attacks and discussed sending about $50,000 to Pakistan. There were also recordings in which Khan appeared to back the overthrow of Pakistan's government in favor of strict Islamic law, praised the killing of American military personnel and lauded the failed 2010 attempt to detonate a bomb in New York's Times Square.
Khan, who testified over four combative days in his own defense, insisted the money he sent overseas was for family, charity and business reasons — above all, his religious school, known as a madrassa, in Pakistan's Swat Valley. Khan also said he repeatedly lied about harboring extremist views to obtain $1 million from a man who turned out to be an FBI informant wearing a wire to record their talk.
"That is not supporting terrorism," said Khan attorney Khurrum Wahid in a closing argument. "That is an old guy running a scam, who got scammed."
Does anyone remember the Video Link disruption stroy?
After Rehman's testimony, Pakistani authorities shut down the video link from an Islamabad hotel to the Miami courtroom, leaving Khan without the testimony of 10 witnesses on his behalf.

The starting point is
this
Summary:
Vali Nasr argues that US should have made peace with Taliban long ago, given $50 billion to Pakistan and listened more to Kayani who didnt want a large Afghan army and a faster US withdrawal. Ofcourse Kayani wants all these! Afghanistan is a troublesome distraction for Pakistan from its usual endeavor of terror against India. Unkil's afghan policy has choked up the sewage pipe of Jihadis from Pakistan and the clogged pipe is leaking pakistaniyat all over Pakistan.
What he misses is
1. After finding Bin Laden in Pakistan, giving $50 Billion would have been a tough sell
2. Pakistanis were involved in London attacks and failed times square bombing. How on earth would US have a sustained aid campaign?
What Pakistan wants is contradictory. US withdrawal from Afghanistan, a transfer of Afghan policy from US to Pakistan, Afghanistan as Pakistan's munna instead of US munna *and* lots of aid and arms from the US. Vali Nasr wants to give all of those to them, expecting them to behave well. The deeper question is, what leverage does US have against Pakistan to prevent it from doing another 9/11 on US?
