So, slowly the number of no-go areas in Desh increase:
Raid goes wrong, six cops suspended
Six personnel of Delhi Police’s Bangladeshi Cell have been suspended following a midnight raid, which reportedly went out of control due to protests from residents, at Batla House in Jamia Nagar.

The members of Bangladeshi Cell had raided the area around 1.30 am on Thursday to nab illegal immigrants. Local police alleged that they were not informed about the operation.

Dressed in plain clothes, a team of eight personnel, including a woman officer, raided the houses of suspected illegal immigrants, police said.

“The team must have got some information and were checking if illegal immigrants live there. However, they should have informed the local police. Six of these cops were suspended,” said Ajay Chaudhary, Additional CP (Southeast).

A senior police officer said the team detained eight people, including women and children, from the area. “They were conducting a midnight raid in Batla House, which is such a sensitive area, and the local police were not taken into confidence. This is a violation of rules. Had they informed us through proper channels, we would have provided them full cooperation,” he said.

The officer said after the local police received a call regarding protest from residents, they went to the spot. He said more than 250 protesters had gathered by then. “The crowd was agitated and angry. So, I fired two rounds in the air to make the public quiet, and then removed the officers of the Bangladeshi Cell to safety,” he said.

Those detained were let off after they submitted their documents, including voter ID cards, to prove that they are Indians.
So, law enforcement officials doing their job seem to get either suspended, jailed or shot dead ( and then accused of having a fake encounter!!!) in this country.

Sanjiv lives in Dakshinpuri and runs a dance school in Saket. He told the police that he had parked the motorcycle outside his dance school before leaving for Ludhiana. The unattended motorcycle was discovered near a DDA Park in Lado Sarai on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the police's special cell is probing whether Hezbollah used local terror groups to carry out the attack. The possibility of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) being tapped by the Hezbollah is being looked at, sources said.
So motor bike was stolen on Tuesday the day of the incident. What is this a crime of opportunity!

How can a trained commandu as the Home Minister claimed rely on a stolen motor bike on the day of the incident?

Also for all that training the guy slapped the device on the door and not the fuel tank.

Again I think its an Ind Muj strike. It was just a coincidence that it happened on the day of two other incidents abroad.

One of the problems with looking at the Urdu press reports is that we see a veneer of "outrage", and "it was bad /but good in that it was reaction against similar acts on Iran" etc. But underneath that are two peculiar things one should carefully note :

(1) certain voices in India are activated when Iran is "accused"
(2) even the Deobandi Sunnis essentially took up a cause highlighted by Khomeini, of demanding that Rushdie is not allowed to step in to India [thereby taking one of the many steps that are being made subtly into treating India as "dar-ul-Islam" - it is Islamic land and hence deemed enemies of Islam cannot enter].
(3) against Israel - no Shia-Sunni contest works in India.

ramana ji,
one point to note is that Mossad top brass apparently visited India and met Indian side some time before the car-attack. In that they reportedly stated the opinion of Israelis in India that the latter felt safer in India. Some one seems to have taken the cue or got wind of this exchange - that the Israelis were likely to have let down their guard and would not be on a tight vigil.

Govt takes on BJP: Home ministry puts saffron terror under lens

Look at the comments, certain sections of IM believe now that all Terror attacks are done by RSS-BJP and innocent Muslims are harassed. The UPA might gain some votes by Politicing terror, but now the seeds have sown which are going to cause a lot of problems in future. Yesterday, I saw on TV some people in Azamgarh saying SIMI is innocent, why is it banned?

We are now on a slippery slope here. Lets see where it leads.

TO many posters here who were questioning Haji Bilal was one time INC worker but not when he masterminded the Godhra train burning, see benefits are not given to the RSS. when person is ex-RSS etc.
Days after the arrest of RSS worker Kamal Chouhan in connection with the Samjhauta Express blast case, the home ministry on Thursday said "more arrests will be made leading to the solving" of a number of terror cases including Malegaon, Modassa and Ajmer Shariff blasts.
Why are people like Rahul Bhatt innocent until proven guilty but RSS-BJP totally guilty based 1 confession?

We are now on a slippery slope here. Lets see where it leads.
People need to be honest with themselves and prepare accordingly, false hopes will cause more losses.

Where is it leading to? A third Islamic state in the sub-continent. No other way about it.

We'd be lucky if we are able to retain a contiguos landmass stretching from Himalayas to coasts, so the we have access to freshwater sources and are not left landlocked.

What I fear is that now CIA and Mossad will try to penetrate into IM independently. Given inclinations of present UPA govt. they will hardly rely on them for help in securing their homeland. Even likes of B Raman have written that hands of Indian security forces across spectrum have been tied by top brass of UPA for who electoral victory is everything.

Najeeb Jung, some professor from Jamia Milia Islamia mentioned on Karan Thappar's show that given 150 million Muslims if push to comes to shove India will side with Iran since even though being Shia, Iran is viewed as a Muslim nation against Israel. So for these guys its Muslim vs their favorite enemy Jews.

Looks like we have a new template to go from Gangster to Politician.

Steps
1.Perform serious crimes including murder and terror in India
2. Go to EU
3. Get extradited with promises.
4. Spend 3 years in Jail and come out.

Seems like EU is in bed with these guys.

It would be unfair to expect people to witness visually clearly such an event. Its a normal road with lots of traffic. Drivers would be looking at the road and looking out for their own skin. How many of us while driving on the road remember in details what happened in the proximity of the vehicle before us? A driver's focus is on his own car and immediate surroundings. As for pedestrains they really have to be idle and focused or tracking a particular vehicle to note exceptional issues. Moreover a standard feature of those who are not trained to experience explosions regularly is that there is a shock which jumbles thoughts and processes in the immediate aftermath.

Prof attack: Key accused arrested
17/02/2012 15:45:04 PNS | Kochi

The NIA has nabbed Tamar Ashraf of Thodupuzha in Kerala’s Idukki district, a key accused in the case relating to the brutal attack on Prof TJ Joseph on July 4, 2010. Ashraf, who had arranged financial assistance for the professor’s assailants, was arrested on Thursday night from Muvattupuzha by the local police as per instructions from the NIA, which was probing the case.

Ashraf, who had been hiding abroad since the attack on the professor, was brought to Muvattupuzha with the help of the Interpol. The main charge against Ashraf, one of the conspirators of the attack, is that he had arranged the funds for the assailants. Six more key accused persons are yet to be arrested in the case.

Activists of Islamist outfit Popular Front of India and its political wing SDPI had cut off the right hand of Prof Joseph on the morning of July 4, 2010 when he was returning home from a local church in Muvattupuzha after attending the Sunday Mass. The Islamists had charged him with “blaspheming” Prophet Muhammad in a test paper he had prepared for the students.

I am thinking it might be better for India if Iran gets torn apart and taken out. should deflate the morale of the Ummah a little bit. and will open a american land corridor into CAR which will reduce their bribes to TSP.

as it stands, Iran is of no particular use to India. they will side with the Ummah if it ever came to Ummah vs India situation.
and their sponsorship of shia causes in india is no less irritating than the saudis and their sunni biraderi.

It does sound like a good idea if none of the states are under the US influence. If they are then, the likelyhood is that they will cooperate with TSP if we go to war again in the future - like they did under the Shah. So we need to keep this in mind. Also another scenario is that Baluchistan becomes autonomous - which will be sunni dominated. They could be anti pak - due to Pak baluch sufferings, but under the whims of the US/GCC, who dont want to break up pak due to nuclear issue, GCC rely on Pak for security.. We dont want to deal with more nuclear powers.

If there is a revolution in Tehran in the next few months, it is likely that we will lose access to Afghanistan.

An update on the Italians who murdered the fishermen - http://www.deccanherald.com/content/228 ... rines.html
The two were brought to the shore from the vessel by senior police officers led by Ernakulam Range IGP K Padma Kumar, Kochi Police commissioner, M R Ajith Kumar, Kollam SP Sam Christy Daniel and Assistant Commissioner (Special Branch) M N Ramesh. Italian consul General also accompanied them.

They were taken to a CISF guest house at nearby Wellignton island for detailed interrogation, police sources said.

To me the facts in the shooting case are as follows:

_ There are no known pirates in that area
- Usually pirates fire first
- The above two facts mean the ship used deadly force not warranted by the situation
- The ship was Italian and its laws should prevail in high seas.
- However the ship was in the 12 mile zone. Italy is a signatory to the Law of the Seas which recognizes the 100 mile EEZ.
- The shooting occurred near India and Indian nationals were killed
- Hence Indian laws should trump any Italian legal opinions

- Two men in a boat did not pose a eminent threat to the ship which had a handful of combat marines on board. So self defense argument falls flat.

'CIA shares intel info on Delhi blast'
Agencies : Washington, Sun Feb 19 2012, 12:38 hrs

The CIA is believed to have shared information with its Indian counterparts on the last week bomb attack in New Delhi on an Israeli diplomatic car, including on alleged Iranian links.

Informed sources claimed that the Indian intelligence agencies have confirmed and corroborated the intelligence information on the bombing shared by the CIA.

The sources expressed "surprise" that despite the alleged Iranian links, India has kept mum on it, which they claimed is mainly due to its diplomatic implications and its impact on India-Iran ties.

ramana wrote:Two men in a boat did not pose a eminent threat to the ship which had a handful of combat marines on board. So self defense argument falls flat.
Just to add on..
1. If I read it right, there were more than two folks in that boat. Two of them were shot dead, it was their compatriots who quickly got the boat back to the shore. These boats are actually small trawlers who go out to the seas for 10-15 days and return.
2. These trawlers generally throw their nets over a large area. And at times the bigger ships go over the same area, tearing away these nets to pieces. So in such cases it seems these trawlers push themselves to the ship so that the ship would alter its course.

But in this case, I feel that the Italian crew went over-board and shot people dead without due deliberation. A question I have is that, are Merchant Navy ships allowed to carry arms? If that is the case, how difficult is it to defend each ship from Somali pirates (the current ruling champions in piracy)? If Merchant Navy ships can carry armed personnel, why have various Navy ships escort them?

Mean while for the Kerala's media and politicians this is now a chaakara (a time when too many fish land up in the nets). Some worthy from the fishermen community have demanded a compensation of Rs. 1 crore only . Comrades like V.S Achu, have stated that the government should not fall for Italian pressure (read as Ms Sonia ;)) and have the law take its own course. Few sane folks have been reminding others that if people in Kerala, expect that these two Italian people would be pulled out from the ship, taken to the nearest police station lock up, and beaten black & blue; that ain't going to happen. The other dream of having these two folks having Gothambunda (balls made of wheat, a delicacy offered at Central prisons in Kerala) for the next 15-20 years may also take time to happen.

The Kochi Police how ever seem to have got their course set right. They have involved all concerned parties, have taken their own time to chart their course and execute the actions.

Bangkok on its feet, Delhi gropes in the dark.

Thailand was swift off the blocks after bombs ripped through its capital Bangkok, but even 72 hours later, India is still groping for clues.

In what can only be called shoddy investigation, Delhi cops picked everything possible from the blast site from the bumper of the car to the tyre with bare hands. However , this doesn't hold true for their Thai counterparts, who handled the probe in a more professional and scientific manner.

Bangkok was rocked by similar blasts a day after the Aurangzeb Road attack. While Thailand police officials and forensic experts collected samples and broken pieces from the blast sites dressed in protective gear, sleuths in Delhi were seen carrying evidence in a damaged piece of the diplomat's car. Police officials in Thailand picked up the evidence in a scientific manner and marked the spots properly to recreate the scene.

That's not all. The explosion on Aurangzeb Road triggered a fire which burnt the tree above the car. But, investigators didn't collect the samples of the explosive from the tree. While the Thailand police has got the forensic team's report on the type of explosive used, Delhi Police is yet to receive the report.

A senior police officer said, "The Thailand Police had CCTV footage of the suspects. We haven't managed to get a single clue about the bomber from the footage we collected from the area". In fact, Delhi Police only realized it was a bomb blast, 20 minutes after the explosion. Initially, the cops thought a CNG cylinder had burst in the diplomat's car.

Should dis-enfranchisement of religious groups be this easy? And that too should such disenfranchisement happen because of the bigotry of the perpetrators?

Ahmediyas to lose properties
HYDERABAD: In an unusual move, the Wakf Board decided on February 18 to write to the government to hand over Ahmediya properties in their possession to the endowments department. This is the first time the board has decided to transfer the custody of places of worship to another government entity since its inception. The board also decided to take over the disputed mosque in Falaknuma from members of the Ahmediya community which it claims belongs to the board.

Eight Ahmediya mosques with the board will be given to the endowments department. Chairman of Wakf Board Syed Ghulam Afzal Biyabani said, "We have unanimously decided to give possession of three mosques in Hyderabad, three mosques in Mahboobnagar and two in Khammam to the endowments department. Also, we intend to take possession of the masjid and graveyard near the Falaknuma railway station currently with the Ahmediyas through legal course."
......

Sources from the Wakf Board say that the spirit of the decision comes from the fact that the Ahmediyas do not follow the Quran and are not permitted in Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj. Therefore, the decision to transfer properties to the endowments department was made.

Police arrest ‘dacoits’, find ‘Hindu extremist bombers’
Five men arrested last week in Patiala on charges of planning a dacoity have confessed to carrying out at least four bombings targeted at Muslims in Haryana in 2009 and 2010, police in Haryana and Punjab said today.

The men allegedly belong to a Hindu extremist group called Azad Sangathan, headed by a Jind resident called Azad, also known as Sagar and Kala. Azad was arrested along with his comrades Praveen Sharma, Ram Niwas, Gurnam Singh and Rakesh Kumar at Shambhu barrier in Patiala. All are in Haryana Police custody.

“They have told interrogators that they wanted to spread terror among Muslims and chose Muslim targets for their attacks,” Inspector Rohtash Singh, station house officer of Jind city police station, who is investigating the attacks, said. “They chose a madrasa and a meat factory in Jind district, and a mosque in Mehlab village of Mewat district. They wanted to target Muslim buildings.”

Jind superintendent of police Ashok Kumar said, “So far they have confessed to carrying out blasts at four places. It is a sensitive matter. We are not in a position to divulge many details.”

The Jind-Mewat area was rocked by a series of apparently unexplained blasts in 2009-10. Apart from a madrasa and meat factory, bombs went off in Nuh in Mewat and Safidon in Jind. All were low intensity explosions in which no one was killed, police said. Haryana Police have been treating the madrasa blast, which took place in October 2009, as triggered by a leaking septic tank.

Pappu and his chums are small-time dacoits, burglars, pickpockets etc. One day they all get busted. In exchange for getting off lightly with a rap on the knuckles, Pappu testifes before Magistrate that his accomplices were actually part of very sinister Yindoo Terror Cell onlee.

Pappu is happy, NIA is happy, Doggy is happy, Chidumberum is happy, Media is very happy, Sonia Maino is happiest of all.

Meanwhile Pappu's former accomplices are staggering around in chains, under the stupefaction of narco-analysis drugs, effectively restrained from expressing any sort of opinion. Just like 800 million other Yindoos onlee.

The incidents involving "religion of peace" activists v/s others seems to be on the increase (at least in Kerala).
1. The killing of a cow in temple premises (Mid-Kerala)
2. The descretation of a temple quite recently (North Kerala)
3. Deliberate leaking of news regarding surveillance of a few people in Kerala (happened at Thiruvananthapuram, but now it is suspected that the police officer has connections with certain anti-national organisations).
4. Two days back major fight erupted in Northern Kerala (Kannur Dt.) between the commies and Muslim League workers. One Muslim league worker killed, and the whole area under Cr.PC 144 for 3 days. (News Link)

India-Italy row: Kerala cardinal seeks peaceful solution
ROME: Amid a raging row over the killing of two Indian fishermen by Italian soldiers, a cardinal from Kerala has appealed to the state authorities not to resort to "precipitate action" and warned the opposition against trying to "exploit the situation". After the last week incident, "I immediately contacted the Catholic ministers of Kerala urging the government not to act precipitately," Kochi-based George Alencherry, major archbishop of the Syro-Malabar Church in Kerala who has recently been elected a cardinal, told Catholic news agency 'Fides' here.
The cardinal sin of interfering in ongoing criminal proceedings, for 'murder' actually, at the behest of phoren powers and loyalties...

I recall one particular poster in the nook thread downplaying religious mobilization church carried out in the koodankulam agitation. This incident too can be explained away in similar tones, perhaps.
