What a game!! India kept the ball most of the time! and demolishes 4-0 .

I am guessing that Australia and Netherlands will score 10 goals against Bakistan!

Yep! but Rupinder Singh realized this in last 10 seconds and with a long pass to Lalit Kumar who deflected it into empty goal just as the hooter goes. There was a video referral that verified that goal was indeed in the very last second of the game.

There were 3 goals in last 10 minutes.

I watched it through..thanks SBajwa ji for the link. The TSP did dominate the game in 3rd and 4th quarter. In fact they had put an equalizer, only to be faulted.
In the end when TSP pulled the Goal keeper and substituted it with the 11th player, we managed to put 3 goals.

that was not rupinder singh but ramandeep singh.

On game, India have played well but still there are lot of unforced error, which can be costly against stronger teams.

India beat Arg 2-1. Only two mistakes in the defence and two sure shot goals saved by the Arg goalie.

We always seem to have trouble with the Aussie style of play. We're able to beat everyone else from the top 6 (Arg, Ned, Ger, Bel, Gbr), but not Australia. Anyone more well versed with hockey care to explain what it is about their playing style that we find so hard to deal with ?

Not an expert but.........game was pretty close unlike previously when Aussies would run over India. Unlike game against Arg defence made more mistakes and Aussies will be ruthless if you make mistakes. Aussie style in hockey is like Germany/France/Spain in football on good days. Extremely accurate in whatever they do. At this level the team that makes lesser mistakes will win.

Coach Harendra singh is experimenting with old and new players. Shreejas and Sardara are back. This team is a total mix of young and old players. Old players are mostly in defense.
Young players who

Harjeet Singh age 22 There was a punjabi movie made on his junior world cup winning conquest.
Manpreet Singh age 26

Shreejas age 32 -- defense
Sardar Singh age 31 -- defense
Rupinder pal singh 27 -- defense
SV Sunil age 29 -- Forward

Coach is building up the team for Asian games in August. This tournament is just a practice for young and experienced players.

Indian-Bel draw 1-1. India almost disintegrated in the 4th quarter. Poor ball stopping for PC by India. Very basic. Belgian were also unable to convert a lot of PCs luckily. Harinder will be unhappy with Mandeep and Simranjit in the forward line-up. They are trying fancy things instead of getting into position and shooting at the goal. Now it is upto match between Aus-Ned and last match against Ned.

I hope Aus win against Ned. If we then draw with or beat Ned tomorrow, we are more or less through to final (unless goal difference comes into play), as I understand.

As per this

http://fih.ch/events/champions-trophy/r ... hes/pools/

India 7
Netherlands 6

A draw is more than enough.

Re: Indian Sports and Entertainment Industry

Posted: 29 Jun 2018 23:16
by Suraj
We don't need a win. A draw is sufficient. Currently

Code: Select all

Country P W D L GD Pts
Australia 4 3 1 0 +4 10
India 4 2 1 1 +4 7
Netherlands 4 2 0 2 +6 6
Belgium 5 1 3 1 -3 6
Argentina 4 1 1 2 -3 4
TSP 5 1 0 4 -8 3
Next Arg plays Aus and we play Ned. Bel and TSP are done. Argentina cannot make the final at all:
Ned wins = Aus-Ned final
India wins or draws = Aus-Ind final

If there is no Srijesh then we would be done and dusted by now , such a lackluster passing . :(

Mandeep is one hopeless forward ...
