Just do Twitter and Facebook, Netflix can be fixed through other means like bringing OTT platforms to comply with CBFC regulations. As we conduct the autopsy of NDA-3, one glaring oversight and the reason for their current plight is because of the failure to create a pro-national ecosystem within the bureaucracy and the judiciary, this should have done from day 1 starting 2014.

Simplest way for BJP and its allies to screw Twitter is to use a local alternative and do all their messaging from a new platform, this will turn Twitter into a echo chamber as it has turned out in the European countries and the US today where it is just people from the left political ideology screaming at the walls . This will also ensure Twitter in the longterm becomes irrelevant .

He can write what he wants, but the simple fact is there is no manufacturer that can fulfil the orders at the scale india wants and at a price that the states can afford. Not Pfizer, not Moderna. Maybe Sinopharm but it is not approved.

With vaccine capacity coming online from July, the above becomes moot.

Although truth be told, koo is not a very inspiring or original effort. It is completely a copy of twitter wrt user interface and possibly the algorithms are not as advanced.

The reason I am in favour of banning netflix is that if you are already banning facebook, twitter and instagram then in the same stroke you can also ban netflix. Make no mistake, netflix is part of big tech now and has tremendous ability to influence masses. Probably even more than twitter I suppose. I am also not sure what kind of value they are adding, both in terms of economy as well as cultural or civilizational.

While Google, Amazon or microsoft are also as or even more damaging to India, I doubt we can do anything about them as of now. We are simply too dependent on their products and services. They are atleast adding economic value, even though they are fcuking us civilizationally.

Bhai Jack Dorsey doesn't stay in India. He stays in US where Indian authorities do not have any jurisdiction i.e after considering they have any inclination to even consider judicial action against him. At the most you can arrest some low level Indian executives which doesn't mean anything in the larger scheme of things and neither will Jack Dorsey lose any sleep over this.

One of the fundamental problems of this country is that Cowardice, Risk avoidance and Incompetence have been thoroughly institutionalized by Govt of India at all levels. There was a massive backlash on serials like Tandav in Amazon Prime and the makers have to apologize and correct it. Family Man season 2 is delayed because they have to adjust the script fearing a backlash. For OTT platform focus on content creators. Why can't BJP promote creation of favorable content and use the medium and its popularity to create it own narrative.

Twitter has done more for RW ecosystem compared to left wing in India. It totally exposed the so called intellectuals and influencers. Provided alternate media source when main stream media refused to publish stories. Banning the medium would do more harm than good.

Darshan,spot on ! Not too long ago I met a v.sr. IAS offr. of a state where elections had been announced and the electoral code of conduct was in force. I had to travel to the state capital as the file was taking ages to get passed,well over a year ,what was a routine issue.I sought his help though it was the purview of another ministry. He bemoaned the attitude of many of his colleagues who just put their pens down after the code of conduct was declared,,not even attending to routine matters which had no political implications. He is a workaholic , clean reputation, makes quick decisions,never procrastinates, but is a rare individual. Finally with a push and shove,the file was passed, went to the EC,travelled to Delhi for clearance and I got my papers a few days before the results!

Reformation of the bureaucracy and judiciary are perhaps the two most important factors that are desperately needed if the country is not to descend further into the abyss of despair. Saying 'perhaps' is being kind. It might actually be the most important factors. To numbers on it, if the damage caused by procrastination in civil duties, lack of progress in judicial cases (with a 20+ year backlog), corrupted file pushing, file blocking etc. exceeds the annual defence budget, we have an idea of the scale. I think the judicial reforms have to precede bureaucratic reforms. Otherwise, cases filed against bureaucratic reform sit in the judiciary for god knows how long.

Good analogy. War. A lot of western nations have lower bureaucracy and faster reaction because (IMO) they've gone through wars where the average citizen has been affected, as in shot at, or bombed on. This is important and focusses the mind of a person as to what is important. There is a difference between how a bureaucrat or a common citizen in Delhi, Darjeeling or Dhanushokdi perceives a terrorist action in some part of India. If his relatives get impacted directly the reaction is different. Otherwise it is just a paragraph in a newspaper, and minutes later IPL is discussed. This attitude does not exist if you are directly affected, as in shot at, or it happens to your relatives. Coronavirus has done this to India.

Countries like England, Germany, Russia, Italy and many others including US went through a world war where all had to serve. All citizens in these countries were affected- people either died in the war or lost a close relative. India has been fortunate in that sense that the wars were all limited to the border and the average citizen (i.e. excluding military personnel and their families) did not suffer. This pandemic is the first time all Indians, from street sweepers upper middle class to politicians have an equal chance of getting sick and dying (Pranabda died, as did Yechury's son), if not them directly, their relatives for sure. I doubt any judicial reform is possible (what fast-tracking happened in Delhi after the Nirbhaya case? How long does it take to conclude a rape case in NCR area- genuine question) but this pandemic might be an opportunity to gather public support for administrative reform and force some changes.

Some translations follow for non Hindustani speakers.

This is absolutely wonderful; as poetry, as social commentary.

It is fair to assume that this late awakening of India being abused with the term came only when Singapore reacted instantly to a stupid tweet by Arvind Kejriwal using the term “Singapore Strain”. So much that Singapore even warned that it has legal provisions to prosecute Kejriwal but decided against it after GOI reassured it. Last week, the top BJP sleuths, like Sambit Patra, claimed to have landed on a “Toolkit” by the Congress which promoted usage of the terms “Indian Variant” and “Modi Strain”. Regardless of what the Toolkit conspired to do, the GOI did not act on usage of the term “Indian variant” till 2 days ago. There is a severe lack of alertness and response to situations by a govt that already looks like a lame-duck as much as the PM looks like a wandering mendicant. He has simply no clue what to do other than fire-fighting. Consequently, the Congress filed an FIR against some BJP leaders who circulated the Toolkit in Chhattisgarh where they have a Congress govt. On their mass-complaint Twitter also tagged Patra’s tweet on the Toolkit as “manipulated media”:

Modi went quiet after the Bengal loss. The BhajanMandli idiots started chanting that his silence is his secret weapon. But the usually loud-mouth, blabbering Modi returned to his old ways lecturing on Covid-2 and talking directly to District Magistrates on handling Covid. He usually likes to talk in a situation where nobody talks back or nobody asks any probing questions. In all these 7 years, Modi’s interactions have all been one-way unless there are little children who ask “programmed questions” on Mann Ki Baat or Pariksha Pe Charcha. Though many blame Modi for the Covid-2 failures and quite rightly so, I don’t consider it as his major failure as this was a situation beyond his imagination and control. I did expect that as soon as he stopped election campaigning in mid-April he would address the nation, express sorrow for the dead and assure people that his govt would do all it can to save lives. Unfortunately (or fortunately for Modi) another cyclone is predicted for the east coast around May 26. Maybe that will give him another chance to go an aerial survey with Mamata Banerjee and get away from Delhi. Such runaway-activities, general interactions with frontline govt officials and sermons to the public are what seem to keep the PM busy. If there are no election campaigns, Modi seems out of his element. It now turns out that the 18-44 group vaccine announcement was also a political distraction from all the Covid deaths, burning pyres and tragedies all over. Now the entire vaccination programme has gone into heavy weather and every age-group is struggling. The GOI predicts vaccine availability will improve only from August. This is an outright fraud on the innocent public by the nautanki of PM Modi and his gang.

Modi came to power in 2014 on the promise of punishing the corrupt and “Vikas” for all. All that is now down the drain. Even the “fake” unspoken Hindutva image he had carved out for himself is sunk beyond redemption. You have nothing to be sorry about. Khan Sir is a complicated person with a complex personality, he has done a lot of good with his youtube channel making education accessible to everyone but his education mixed with political messaging confuses people like me about his motives. To add to the confusion there are some muslims who claim Khan Sir is not even a muslim but a Hindu with a fake muslim name and then there are others who say he is a secular muslim with a hindu nickname who celebrates all festivals equally. The only sure thing in all this is shantidoots on twitter are baying for his blood all because he was against kids being used in pro-Palestine rallies.

If Modi was such an abject "all around failure" as this mediacrooks guy claims then the public wouldn't have elected him with the biggest majority since Rajiv Gandhi's victory (thanks to sympathy wave in the aftermath of Indira's death) in 1984. Modi is no god and he never claimed to be one, he is a honest administrator without a speck of corruption and zero interest in amassing personal wealth , something we've rarely seen in Indian politics with the exception of perhaps Lal Bahadur Shastri, PVNR and Atal Bihari Vajapayee. Even out of these 3, both PV Narasimha Rao's govt and ABV's govt saw plenty of corruption allegations but none in the 7 yrs of Modi administration despite Congress' best attempts of blowing baseless Ambani, Adani, Rafale smoke.

Modi's style even in GJ has been that of improving the basics and quality of life for the masses. A poor working class person or a 9 to 6 working middle class stiff just wants water in his tap, not having to worry about his commuter bus/train blowing up, manageable inflation, better job opportunities for himself and his children, they don't care if Vadra or Burkha or Rajdeep are behind bars or if Twitter/FB is banned. Modi has delivered on the former better than any other PM in India's history. I think it was on 'Aap ki adalat' in 2014 when someone in the audience asked Modi if he would punish those who've done wrong he clearly said his priority was to first fix the system and rapidly develop the economy. Just before the pandemic struck he had warned the IAS officers he wont tolerate them if they are found creating obstacles for his development plans and we can only wonder how the last 18 months would have looked like without this terrible tragedy.

Like i said before it is India's loss and our fate if we lose him 2024, and the way people have taken this opportunity to attack him relentlessly it is quite possible that he may not even contest in 2024, he has done more for the nation what someone like me will fail to do in 100 lives. We truly deserve a RaGa or Kejri or Mamata types because it seems like our pet obsession to first build up unrealistic expectations from one man and then take glee in bringing down that person, much like how Tendulkar would get the most hate in 90s and the performance of the other 10 were ignored.

One observation with Modi and BJP its lack of interventionist policy from beginning.

1. JET airways - never intervened

2. IL& FS - little late

3. Now vaccine ... waited too long before making infra ready and ensuring supplies.

They have to be pro active and publicly show that they are anticipating these troubles and planning ahead.

them being proactive would have backfired big time if there was no second wave and they are also aware of that. Also covaxin cleared its phase three trials with results published and debated among peers in March and April time frame with the funding following in short order.

Just giving Covaxin EUA (Emergency usage authorization) gave so much grief. I was watching a video by Abhinav Prakash in Jaipur Dialogues and he mentioned that in western UP there was a large belief that there is nothing like Covid, covid is just a severe cold or cough and Narendra Modi is busy giving money to "industrialists" using this as an excuse. Not many people died in the first wave and it led to people questioning Covid itself.

Twitter showed some region in Haryana (Hisar or Rothak i forget), govt had close to 8 medical camps to get covid vaccinations and people didn't show interest. Now they have asked/requested the govt to come and vaccinate. In a way we are no different than the anti vaxxers in the US. It took a pandemic to show up for people to take vaccinations.

Sombody should file a PIL in Supreme court on all the idiots who created vaccine hesitancy in the first place, with increased demand maybe the funding would have come for covishield atleast earlier.

I think the media crooks guy has lost it. Its better to acknowledge that the govt is going on a different path than what he wishes/advocate and put forth points on why he is correct or govt is making a mistake. Instead he comes across as whiny.

Isn't the modi govt already working on vikas for all and he is constantly compalining about the muzzies. Coming to punsihing the corrupt, the courts are taking thier own time, nothing the govt can do, untill it can reform the judiciary comprehensively. wasn't Narendra Modi's idea in 2014 for a fast tarck court for corruption shot down by apex court sating there should be no interference in its work or some such.

certain people have certain skills. Arvind Kejriwal can only do dharnas, hence is not a good administrator and it shows up in Delhi. Media crooks also can rant only on most issues. I have not seen any constructive arguments other than calling Modi names. his blog is also infested by the same people who keep saying Modi is aiming for Nobel. Who will give him a Nobel and on what basis is also lost. the govt itself is doing administration work without discriminating between muslims and hindus, the people are not even recognizing this work and on what basis will anyone confer nobel on him. his arguments look a lot like toolkit, although I wouldn't call him a congressi yet, but his arguments are awfully close to that.

I tried to post on his blog that if Modi govt is really giving peacefulls a lot of money for schools and colleges, then this info must be used by Hindus to shut up people like Arfa khanum, Rana, and other Lutyen parasites to break their arguments and sow differences in their ranks. but these comments were never published on a number of occasions, though some of the other comments did come by.

he doesn't advocate what Modi must do that is possible. ideas like throw all peacefulls out will either way not work. He needs to come up with working solutions that will survive the challenges in the court of law. Right now his arguments are all on the lines of hang the corrupt, knowing that govt can't/won't do such a thing.

Angst exists in the Hindutva camp, the 'core' voters of yore who stood steadfast behind NM way before it was cool to do so.

Right approach would be for BJP and Modi-shah to at least acknowledge angst exists (even if, debatably, they can't do anything about it).

I'm among those who are disillusioned with Modi-GoI on the H issues front - particularly on the matter of equality of rights and freedoms to the H community on par with other communities in managing H shrines, charities, endowments, schools and high-ed institutions. A H-specific ecosystem essentially that is paralyzed due to govt paws suffocating it for decades now.

20+ yrs uninterrupted in power and GJ, 15+ in MP and not one line in any textbook has changed, forget about kendra sarkar and NCERT. Meanwhile another generation of K-12 schoolkids are damaged perhaps permanently from toxic M and X brainwashing - both subtle and overt. Wh, sir? Is edu not important? Nobody better than PJ or this nishank could be found?

And why not move on 'equal rights to Hs'?? It's not like it takes away from SSSV and statesmanliness wala image any, does it? Doesn't take any rights and privileges away from Mx and Xs they currently ensoi. So why not done 7 yrs of full majority sarkar in? Heck, no plan, vision or intent also demonstrated in this area and that stings more.

Anyway, one could go on and on. Wills till vote Modi (who else is there?). But am no longer obliged to brainwash moiself with 'Modi! Modi! Modi!' hosannas on alleged 56-D chessgames that none of us plebes can understand. Apparently.
