Erdogan makes U turn promises not to oust Assad regime

“The aim of the Euphrates Shield Operation [in northern Syria] is not any country or person, but only terrorist organizations,” Erdogan said Thursday, as quoted by the Hurryiet Daily News.

“No one should doubt this issue that we have uttered over and over, and no one should comment on it in another fashion or try to derail it,” he added.

The shift of Erdogan’s strategy in Syria came after a phone call with Russia’s President Vladimir Putin

al masdar news

The Guardian, one of the United Kingdom's biggest newspaper, has reported that the US and UK are considering dropping aid to jihadist militants in East Aleppo.

The report claimed that little traction has been made in both countries as rival government agencies have differing opinions on it, and no military commander has supported the initiative.

Such an endeavour could aggravate Syria or Russia to respond to planes delivering the aid that can cause a crisis, the report continued.

The last high-profile meeting about airdropping supplies took place in the UK embassy in Washington last week but failed to reach any conclusions as Syrian military forces had retaken a large chunk of the militant-controlled parts.

“There was talk in private that all this was too late,” said one of the participants in the meeting.

coalition of rebel forces in Aleppo known as Aleppo Council arrested, today, several rebel groups of Jaish al-Islam for allegedly planning to turn themselves in to the government forces.

Up to 150 militants – all fighting for the Saudi-backed Jaysh al-Islam – who wanted to give up their weapons and surrender to the Syrian authorities were taken to an unidentified place, while their leader, known as commander Suhaib, fled the arrest.

the next blow will be at Bab Nayrab and the Cemetery perhaps....the congested areas around the citadel will likely be abandoned as the rats trip over rats in trying to escape south.

as with all Maginot lines, once the line is turned, its very hard to keep putting up new maginot lines on a weekly basis esp in congested urban areas....out in field atleast the dozers can quickly build berms and trenches....here the SAA can creep in via every unwatched bylane and cracks in the woodwork..more congested and chandhi chowkish the better as there are more holes in the woodwork to creep through and create panic at night in the back

The New York Times gleefully just headlined, (now they know they’ve lost), .. If Assad wins in Syria, he’ll have a shattered economy and a insurgency problem. They didn’t mention that if the US wins, Dr Assad would have a Libya on his hands.

Kindly read Alexander Mercouris report on east aleppo battle:

He thinks the Russians have total situational awareness of the battle field by now and total control.

This also looks like the Russians are letting the Syrians do everything after they(russians) do planning strategy to see their effectiveness.

The US sure could something like this before they invaded Mosul. But the difference is the US don't care about Iraqi casualties but the Russians do care about Syrian ones. 3000 to 500 against almost the same number of troops.. Also the Iraqi’s are not natives to Mosul and it shows.. The SAA are using the kids who grew up in the area..

http://theduran.com/breaking-syrian-arm ... rn-aleppo/

Tactically, the area between the citadel-airport avenue and the International Aleppo Airport Motorway is quite done.

The terrorists in the northern sector of the old Aleppo town are virtually trapped, they can escape but it will be a hard task for them to withdraw through such a narrow gap at the moment with tendency to to be tighter overnight.

there is a severe shelling in the Bab al Hadib roundabout, and noticeable air strikes by bombers and helicopter, this may indicate some actions by the SAA to flush the terrorists down toward the gap.

No major actions in Sheikh Sa’eed or Sukkari today, just normal skirmishes.

The terrorists are killing each others in Bustan al Qaser and Khalesseh, these are areas that there are many terrorists willing to surrender, that includes Fardos.

looking at aleppo maps and pattern of terrorist holdouts, now we can imagine why Department of State spokesperson Kirby was going nuts about Russians bombing civilians on purpose. They were taking out depots and storage bunkers. Schools and hospitals were used as HQ by the terrorists. But the end result is, Russia was only bombing civilians on purpose but has managed to free half the area while losing far less men and affecting fewer civilians while the coalition of the stoopid has pretty much decimated everyone friend and foe alike.

And now are talking about the kurds joining in the fight instead of just watching in which case the turks will also join the fight against the kurds on the side of ISIS. They have made the PMUs as part of the military and might actually have to join in including the 5000 or so of foreign mercs and specialists.

Colonel Cassad has a photo and video essay.

It includes pictures and video of Russian military advisors on the frontline, SAA armor in the Citadel area, a video of a captured ‘rebel’, and the discovery of quantities of delta-gas-x packages which produce phosphine gas immediately lethal at 50 ppm (thank you, Merkel aunty).

NATO needs to not only evaluate, but seriously evaluate.

That they cracked an area of around 100 sq km should send shivers through nato.

As you may know the twitter a/c Ivan Sidorenko, found the geo tags of the pics posted by terrorists and sent it to Russian MoD.

But it is amazing that they are so good at battle field awareness. As you can imagine, the complexity of trying to collate the situation of any area with such number of people is complex.

They are still working on battlefield awareness of air craft and bombing targets in an area. No where close to the details needed to avoid civilian casualties and yet we seen how many wedding parties NATO have bombed and how they bombed an area held for over 2 years by the SAA in DeZ.

Russian software was advanced, but no one knew it was this advanced.
