Folks data coming out is showing many of the preconceptions are wrong.

- Fingerprints match the Syrian passports.
- Its Syrian refugees and some French citizens who did it.
- Not Maghreb expatriates.

I still haven't seen how each of the 7 died. If they died by suicide bombs what were the police doing? Were they armed with pop guns? Or ill trained to shoot.

US State Department approves Saudi Arabia arms sale

The US State Department has approved the sale of $1.29 billion (£848.6m) worth of bombs to Saudi Arabia, as its military carries out air strikes in neighbouring Yemen.

President Obama pledged to bolster military support for Saudi Arabia after tensions were strained following a US-brokered nuclear deal with Iran.

The US Congress now has 30 days to stop the deal if it wishes to do so.

All these new shinies will take about 6m to make its accidental, mistaken way to IS / Syria / Yemen etc? Disgusting.

I count 18 hits on that shield....someone emptied a mag and would have killed people if not for that.

I believe there is a third outfit called RAID which is sometimes mixed in with BRI.

GIGN (under army) - seems the 1st level unit - some were involved in bataclan. can move worldwide. advised the mosque takeover ops in makkah
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_ ... tion_Group

RAID - responsible for Paris 21 districts under national police HQ - I think these ppl mainly entered the Bataclan
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Recherche ... Dissuasion

GIPN - some kinda regional SWAT
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Groupes_d ... _Nationale

BRI - another kind of SWAT against seriously armed crime
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brigade_d ... tervention

GIGN & RAID is likely the equivalent of our NSG/GSG9/FBI-HRT.

just like germany I think the GIGN is used for CT/HRT only and does not participate in army SF work.

I think they also train together and probably have some common drills, protocols and comms gear.

A decade ago I travelled by road from Paris to Brussels for a conference with a French friend. I remarked upon the openness of the EU with no checkpoints, etc. and asked whether this was going to be a problem in the future with criminal/terror elements entering and exiting France and across the EU. He shrugged his shoulders in typical French fashion ,grimaced and said: "Oui, but c'est la vie".

Regrettably one's fears ,shared no doubt by millions of Europeans came true last Friday in such despicable and diabolic fashion in Paris. However, the writing was on the wall for many years before Friday,13/11.Like 9/11,26/11,etc.,the increasing wave of terror attacks in Europe thanks to its policy of open borders was inevitable. A very distinguished Indian scribe and author on security matters, warned the US in advance of 9/11, telling it that ignoring the wave of cross-border Islamist terror in India would see it hit the US with a vengeance. He was proven indeed prophetic.

The recent wave of so-called "refugees" into Europe, many genuine but many adventurers including terrorists have slipped into Europe with ease.AS a French security expert interviewed said," From a Greek island they are able to penetrate right into France without being checked. many refugees also said that there was little or no checking of identity, genuineness of passports, etc. Europe has been overwhelmed by this tsunami of humanity and squabbled amongst itself needlessly. The chief culprit is the one today who is the most silent. The German "Fraurer" Angela Merkel. "Fraurer" Merkel opened the fortified gates of Europe to the monsters of Islamist terror in manner similar to the fall of the Berlin wall. German economic power literally blackmailed other EU states which were panicking about being inundated by this Islamic tsunami, despite innumerable warnings from the respective security services and society at large. They were rudely ignored and it has all come to pass. The Germans gave these entities a "go-as-you-please" free pass into the EU .

But the roots of the problem lie firmly in the Middle East, where Western neo-imperialism has ignored routing military action through the UN. Bush Sr. must be praised for doing just that, giving his booting out of Saddam from Kuwait legitimacy. That legitimacy has been totally absent in the last decade from the invasion of Iraq by son Dubya and crony Tony B.Liar and co. to regime change in Libya, when what was approved was protecting Libyans, not murdering Gadhaffi. The bogus pursuit of ISIS has now been fully exposed by Russia and Putin. Amazingly and shamefully,O'Bomber is now claiming that results in Syria are due to US bombings! Here is a report on the Belgian angle.

Paris attack: Why Belgium is at the heart of a destructive wave of terror in Europe

The nation's authorities realise that complacency towards extremism has allowed fundamentalist influences to fester
Leo Cendrowicz Brussels
As a modest, if prosperous nation of just 11 million, Belgium rarely makes news headlines, yet today it has the unenviable distinction of being Europe’s Jihadist hothouse.

After the Paris attacks, police quickly traced the terrorists to Brussels, raiding addresses in the Molenbeek district and arresting seven suspects. It was in the grimy, run-down, neighbourhood that investigators believe the Paris plot was hatched by Abdelhamid Abaaoud, the Belgian-born son of an immigrant shopkeeper from Morocco.

Timeline of Paris attacks

Abaaoud is only part of a web of Belgium-based foot soldiers, whose exploits have left a trail of death across Europe. And beyond: around 500 young Belgians have gone to Syria to fight for Jihadist groups like Isis – per capita, no other European country has sent more foreign fighters.

Why is Belgium at the heart of Europe’s most destructive wave of terrorism in a generation? There is no single explanation, but rather a number of ingredients, from post-war immigration from north Africa, hate preachers, ghettos, poverty, and marginalision. There is also a belated realisation by the Belgian authorities that complacency towards extremism has allowed the pernicious Islamic influences to fester.

Everything we know about the Paris attacks suspects

Islamist extremism has a long history in Belgium. While there have been few attacks on Belgian soil, there has been significant involvement in atrocities elsewhere. There are links to the murder of the Afghan anti-Taliban fighter Ahmed Shah Masoud – just before the September 2001 attacks in the US – and the Groupe Islamique Marocain Combattant (GICM), which had a major role in the 2004 Madrid train bombings. In 2005, Muslim convert Muriel Degauque, became the first known female Western suicide bomber, when she blew herself up in Iraq.

Some of the problems are thought to have deeper roots, including a 1970s decision to allow Saudi Arabia to send preachers with fundamentalist, Salafist teachings to Moroccan immigrants. The Great Mosque of Brussels is still owned by the Saudi royal family. However, it was the Syrian civil war that gave the jihadists their recent fillip. Belgium’s chief police commissioner Catherine de Bolle says that of 474 Belgians linked with the Syria conflict, about 130 have returned, 77 have died in the conflict, and more than 200 are still over there. Intelligence officials say that Syria – in particular, the ultra-violent ideology of Isis – represents a paradigm shift from seeking a regional caliphate to global Jihad.

Monuments around the world show solidarity with Paris

The Belgian connection was laid bare in the recent trial in Antwerp of Fouad Belkacem, the leader of the radical group Sharia4Belgium, which claimed to be an Islamic information network, but was actively recruiting fighters for Syria.

Mr Belkacem, a 32-year-old Islamic radical, was accused by prosecutors of belonging to a terrorist group and brainwashing young people. In February, he was sentenced to 12 years in prison. It was the largest trial of its kind in the country: 44 other members of Sharia4Belgium were given sentences ranging between three and 12 years, although most of them in absentia, as they were in Syria.

The trial revealed how sophisticated the underground Jihadist pipeline had become. Although Belgian security services have infiltrated mosques more effectively in past decade – in part, after discovering a Belgian connection to the 2005 Madrid bombings – Sharia4Belgium and others have found ways to evade surveillance by using internet chat rooms and social media.

Almost all the trails linking Belgium to terrorism find their way to Molenbeek, the deprived Brussels commune. Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel, who has promised a crackdown on extremism in the country, says there is a “huge problem” in Molenbeek, and has suggested closing some of the commune’s 22 mosques.

The situation is not helped by a fractured law enforcement – the Brussels region has 19 communes and operationally independent police zones – and a shortage of Arabic speakers in the Belgian intelligence services.

Bilal Benyaich from the Itinera Institute, a Brussels-based think tank, says Molenbeek is a melting pot of malign elements. “You have big Muslim communities boxed into tight housing in poor neighbourhoods,” he says.

Mr Benyaich says that many young Muslims feel marginalised from mainstream Belgian life. “This real or perceived sense of exclusion is combined with extreme Islam,” he says. “All these problems come together in a complex process of indoctrination and alienation.”

Paul Craig Roberts and Pepe Escobar uvacha .. French attack ain't as simple as they seem

Paul Craig Roberts got a tip re Paris
French Security Left Blind During November 13 Paris Terror Attacks
“I have received a report from European security that there was a massive cyber attack on French systems 48 hours prior to and during the Paris attacks.
Amongst other things, the attack took down the French mobile data network and blinded police surveillance. The attack was not a straightforward DDOS attack but a sophisticated attack that targeted a weakness in infrastructure hardware.
Such an attack is beyond the capability of most organizations and requires capability that is unlikely to be in ISIL’s arsenal. An attack on this scale is difficult to pull off without authorities getting wind of it.

http://www.globalresearch.ca/french-sec ... ks/5489213

from Pepe Escobar, the Roving Eye (with many trendy mates in the Dixieme Arrondissement) -- 13 hours ago --
* * * * *
THE EXPENDABLES
There were glaring differences between the three teams at the Paris carnage.
The Stade de France team featured absolute patsies trying to enter a football match in a heavily policed stadium wearing a suicide vest. Expendable “martyrs” – “Syrian passport” and all.
The Bataclan team featured calm, relatively proficient shooters, but still martyrs. They knew a hostage situation, in France, could only finish with their “martyrdom”. Less expendable, but still expendable.
The heart of the matter is the drive-by team. Or “teams”. Notice corporate media is absolute mum on them, because the investigation itself seems to be clueless.
The killers at La Belle Équipe arrived on a black Mercedes, according to witnesses. There is NO mention of this Mercedes anywhere. The killers were ultra-pro, muscular, methodical, and WHITE. NO ONE is talking about them.
These are the NON-EXPENDABLES. The high-priced mercenaries. While all the media circus spreads from Grenoble and Toulouse to Brussels and even Raqqa, they have simply vanished without a trace.
Who are they? And who hired them? Certainly not social network jihadi al-Baljiki.

london has lakhs of cctv cameras something like 1 million.

another curious incident is that of a Mexican girl who was waitress at a restaurant.

A Mexican Girl (Nohemi Gonzalez) who died was confirmed alive after the Bataclan shooting when her family called her boyfriend's phone after hearing about the shooting in the mexican media. They tried contacting her repeatedly on her own phone and then tried her boyfriend's phone. he said he was with her and they were both fine and the shooting was over.

And now after the authorities took her into custody the family has received a report that she is dead and her family is wondering how she is dead when they received the report that she was fine straight from her boyfriend a considerable time after the terror attacks.

Most terror strikes have Islamic State or Al-Qaeda or (flavor of the month) as front and then there are quasi-state players in the back. They are professionals, merceneries, gladios that never get caught. They also ensure that the attack is never a total failure and number of victims are built up. There is a lot of difference between 50 killed and 150 killed and 500 killed.

Govts need total disbelief on part of populations to impose their agenda.

we can only speculate, only first-hand eyewitnesses report these and hence even those reports are not promoted by media. Closest the free world came to one of these types was when Headley was exposed.

there is a defacto firewall around these types, they are not supposed to be caught by official agencies. They are not supposed to speak about them and not acknowledge these types in public.

On a different note, if Paris was like Mumbai, the French did attack Syria. They escalated further than us. I think after ACM Fali Major suggested Air Strike as retaliation but his suggestion was overlooked and termed "emotional" or something.

So what if some state actors were behind this attack and the combo of state actors and non state actors brings it closer to Mumbai model save for direct real time handler instructions event by event

If they shouted AOA they give away
If they didn't shout AOA the. They give away another path.

If they were AOA but didn't shout AOA then it's a different path.

we have to then connect many dots.

a) sleeper cells are there all the time once Islamists infiltrate an area. They just have to be activated. Activation can simply mean, someone calls them and informs them (maal tayyar hain)

b) fools go out immidiately, take possession of maal and spray & pray. Get hit by para bullet and AoA.

c) quasi-state orgs get scent of this supply through intel and send in their own guys to add to the mayhem, maybe they have seperate set of goals. AoA's do not know of these operators.

d) media claims cells are totally islanded and they operate independently for op-sec. yeah, but what is going on is something different.

e) all c category operatives scoot before police can set up blockades. They are there only for shock & awe, and not there to get caught or suicide.

c can be CIA or ISI or DGIN or SAS or anybody who has vested interests in the fight and who can see geopolitical goals being achieved through terror strikes.

does it make sense ?

We did not hit back after 26/11 because Kasab and friends were ideological allies of the Congress government. Killing Hindus, Jews and Westerners was necessary and justifiable for all of them.

The real reason is not the intention but the capability....by 2008 the Armed forces were sufficiently neutered to the point that we could not even mobilize to the level of Parakaram in 2002. They learned their lessons too and made sure that Indian armed forces were not in position to mount a serious threat.

Even if we wanted to....it was not possible to hurt them seriously.

So far I have seen mostly usual opinions.

Philip Am disappointed at your lack of analytic thinking.
The terrorists are a mix of recent Syrian refugees and French Maghreb immigrants.

And weapons supplied from Molenbeck, Belgium.

I would like anyone who can post a time line, a map of the attacks and who all were involved.

And three days after the attack we stop wallowing our pet peeves.
