Sachin: The Hindu's comments section & letters to the editor are "heavily moderated", to put it mildly. Try being critical of China for instance & see if your comments get published. I have tried it a few times just for fun.
Re: Internal Security Watch
1. The elder brother had called upon a meeting yesterday. BT wrote an editorial in SS mouthpiece in his usual style.
2. Few eyewitnesses say that there was firing of rounds in air from the "Razakars" and that there were more than 2 rifles with them which they stole from police..
3. Mumbai Police have been asked NOT to make arrests until Eid is done with. Basically what they are asking is that people should disappear asap..

It is no accident that there is a systematic attack from both ends to dishonor all the symbols of India. The fathers and bishops behind this have carefully selected all their dates to make sure that national days are treated as black days.PMANE announces August 15 as black day
The People’s Movement Against Nuclear Energy (PMANE) has announced that it would observe the Independence Day as a black day. The fisher folk living in Tirunelveli, Kanyakumari and Thoothukudi districts would hoist black flags in their houses to show their opposition to the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board’s (AERB) decision to grant clearance for filling nuclear fuel in Koodankulam Nuclear Power Plant (KKNPP).
In a press release, the organisation said that the Indian nuclear establishment’s decision to accord permission to load fuel in KKNPP has insulted the Madras High Court where a case on KKNPP was pending. The release said that it violated the Constitution and pawned country’s independence with the Russian government.
PMANE said it would support all legal efforts to initiate contempt of court proceedings against the AERB and other institutions.
From August 11, the fishermen of coastal villages in southern districts would boycott fishing until the Madras High Court judgment on the KKNPP was delivered. The shopkeepers in and around these villages would down shutters in support of the struggle, PMANE said.
“The first anniversary of the current anti-nuclear agitation will be commemorated on August 16 at Idinthakarai. Various political and social leaders will participate,” a release said.

When anti-national Muslims held Mumbai to ransom, bullets turned into chocolates: Shiv Sena
Do Read the Comments. All Likes and No Dislikes for Comments asking Muslims to Leave India for Pakistan. The Shiv Sena mouthpiece, Saamna, has slammed the Congress-led DF government for "bowing" before the "anti-national" Muslims who went on the rampage in south Mumbai. In its editorial on Monday, Saamna described the violence as a "grand rehearsal" of the infamous 26/11 attack on Mumbai.
"While 26/11 happened all of a sudden, Saturday's violence happened right under the nose of the city police. Those who held south Mumbai to ransom are not just miscreants, they are anti-national Muslims. However, it is unfortunate that the police did nothing to control the crisis," said Saamna.
Sena chief Bal Thackeray is the editor of Saamna. "The office of the police commissioner is barley 100 steps away from the place where the Muslim youths went on the rampage. They took away weapons from policemen, molested women, assaulted innocent citizens and torched public vehicles. Yet the police did nothing. There bullets turned into chocolates," it said.

The very strong ME ties, especially the Sunni ties now developed between political forces+regimes on the two sides, will prevent any strongly deterrent action on the riots. Already damage control measures have started to dilute the significance of the issue. Media more or less clamped down on any "adverse" reporting - possibly from the common financier handlers linkages to theology+political gurus.

Re: Internal Security Watch
the way Congress of Indira sometimes behaves, it resembles like the ideological successor to the eminent poet & philosopher the Late Ghiyazuddin Ghazi. Just like the Mughals tortured the Sikh rebels the Congress has also managed to achieve similar levels during it's 80s run and it is following the Mughal level of discrimination in treatment of protests between the natives and the mohammedans. The Congress is in so many ways the ideological successor to the mughals.
Re: Internal Security Watch
Congress is only the ghora which is tied to the rath which runs this country. simply replacing congress will not do much. what about the rath?
Re: Internal Security Watch
As Krishna showed in Mahabharat, the one controlling the ghora is far more influential than the one controlling the rath!
Re: Internal Security Watch
rath was not controlled by Arjuna. rath is controlled by Ghora+krishna. perhaps analogy isn't sufficient here, but ghora, if not well, would not have responded well to Krishna's directions. either way, the point is the structure of the admin/bureaucracy/rashtra that runs the nation >> put anybody at the top, the current structure is insufficient for the challenges we face. what did the BJP do when it was at the helm? do you want one bunch of mean-spirited elites to be replaced by another bunch of perhaps well-meaning, but not-able-to-do-anything-about-it elites?
Re: Internal Security Watch
The stench is a result of the past 800 rules of colonialism (Muslim + British + INC). To expect it to be washed by a 50 year rule of BJP is optimism at best. There is no need to pretend that the rotting is not deep. Clearing it will take time. So far, the BJP rule has been less than 10 years. No one can work magic in a govt that itself is not ruling continuously. Lets not forget that for every 5 years of BJP rule, there has been 100s of years of foreign rule. Even NaMo would find it difficult to make India developed in 1 or 2 terms. Dharmic rule has to be continuous to reverse the adharmic tide. Any disruption will undo some of the rectifications & bring back the old norm in order to preserve the current govt.

VHP disrupts India, Pakistan Joint I-Day Celebrations
Hyderabad, Aug 14 (IANS): Activists of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) Tuesday disrupted India-Pakistan joint celebrations of their independence organised by a group of voluntary organisations here.
The activists tried to barge into the conference hall at Gandhi Darshan on Exhibition Grounds where a Pakistani couple who was here for treatment of their daughter were the special guest.
The couple were escorted away by the organisers.
Police arrested about 10 VHP activists and prevented many others including Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) cadres from entering the Exhibition Grounds.
The VHP activists demanded the arrest of the organisers for celebrating Pakistan's independence.
"They are protesting why Pakistan's independence is being celebrated when Hindus are migrating from Pakistan," remarked Anand Raj Varma, advisory committee member, Confederation of Voluntary Organisations (COVA).
The organisers said they have been organising the joint celebrations for several years.

Very well put. The rot is in several layers:nakul wrote:The stench is a result of the past 800 rules of colonialism (Muslim + British + INC). To expect it to be washed by a 50 year rule of BJP is optimism at best. There is no need to pretend that the rotting is not deep. Clearing it will take time.
a) Elites who are totally alienated from the local culture and have turned against it.
b) The corrupt and inefficient system which is inherited from the colonial period. System including political class, bureaucracy, media, judiciary, 'intellectual' class, NGOs...etc.
c) The above 2 factors have encouraged, time and again, virulent rise of brazen elements(drunk on foreign ideologies) eager to destroy the local culture. Ex: Naxalism or Jihadism.
d) The confusion within the minds of hindus to realise the above 3 points that threaten their very existence. In short, Dhimmi Hindus.
Any attempt to rectify any of the above aspects results in extreme reaction from the other groups(including the dhimmi Hindus). There will be vilification campaigns to discredit such an attempt. So, it is very difficult process. Yet, I feel it is inevitable, unless there is another round of colonialism(overt or covert).
It will take time and perseverance. It is sort of like getting rid of a bad habit.

Re: Internal Security Watch
there won't be any riots in the initial phase. only when the IIA is sure of Indian defeat/retreat on a sure basis, will the collaborators and hidden elements show their true nature. they have enough survival instincts not to unmask themselves while the Indian Rashtra still has the capability to denude them of their resources. they will unmask if they think defeat/retreat is an assured result.
I am not talking of border skirmishes here. I mean actual, real wars where possibility of loosing entire subregions/provinces becomes certainty.

Cant believe how my views have changed within just 2-3 years regarding the community from a idealist NCERT educated "all are our brothers onlee" to the current true face of "Ummah matters more than anything".
Praveen Swami unwittingly started it when in a usual justification article 5-6 years back where he was finding excuses for some Malegaon terrorist, he had unwittingly mentioned that one of the residents had to set up a committee just to ensure the Malegaon folks( of one community, of course) support Indian Army during Kargil. The alarm bells started ringing at that time and is becoming more and more as the days go by
Thats why i am always intrigues when BRF members keep lampooning UQ saying that they are in for fun in coming days whereas we are the ones in a much, much bigger mess since UQ has already realised the problem and has started taking steps to stop it by slowing TSP immigration, bugging Muslim neighborhoods etc whereas we are going in exact opposite direction by molly-coddling further.

Post Saturday's Islamic mayhem, Urdu editors apprise Maha CM of minority witch-hunt by police
Mumbai: Maharashtra chief minister Prithviraj Chauhna on Tuesday sought help from Urdu press in maintaining peace in the state in view of the coming festivals. Urdu editors assured him of cooperation, but also apprised him of the minority witch-hunt by police in the wake of the Azad Maidan violence as police are said to be preparing list of the people who took part in the Saturday protest against killings in Assam and Myanmar.
...
Saeed Ahmed and Aziz Ejaz (Urdu Times), Shahid Latif and Abdul Hai (Inquilab), Saeed Hamid (Roznama Sahara), Maulana Zaheer Abbas Rizvi (Sahafat), Sarfaraz Arzoo (Hindustan Urdu), and Mohammed Wajihuddin (Times of India) met the CM and the officers of Maharashtra Government.
Chauhan agreed with the aim of the agitation held on Saturday and appreciated the role of Police who controlled the violence with minimum damage. He said, “We informed the state government of Assam and the Union Government of India about the community’s feeling regarding Assam and Burma.” “We are also doing an inquiry whether the incidents was pre planned” Chauhan added.
Editors of Urdu newspapers complained that the violent pictures and visuals spread on facebook and other social networking sites were misleading and false. And government should have taken note of them and must have acted. Chauhan told them that it’s the responsibility of the Union government and we have informed them.
Sarfaraz Arzoo, editor of Hindustan Urdu daily in the beginning said, “Youths arrested are in the age group of 17 to 20 years, they are criminals. They need counseling not punishment.”
Reminding the CM of the incident of Meenatai Thackrey statue, Saeed Hamid, resident editor of Rashtriya Sahara Mumbai said, “At that time the Shiv Sainiks not only attacked the Police but also burnt their houses but no case was imposed on them.”
Urdu Editors also protested against the imposition of section 302 on the mob. They said, “Two Muslim youths died in the police firing, so imposition of this provision is totally unjustified.”
They also complained that the Police are preparing the list of people who were ferried to Azad Maidan in buses and trucks and are planning to arrest them which is not correct.”

^^ Despite all the feel good, this country is screwed for sure in the coming days. The minority is just refusing to wake up and actually going more and more backwards and out of national fold.
I used to earlier dismiss all this talk of civil war etc as loose paranoid talk but seem that that day might come in my lifetime itself going by the rapid downhill descent of a particular community ( which is also growing exponentially in numbers)

He has said that they will make efforts to understand the illegal migration issue but will not make efforts to stop it or do anything about those already present. The incidents of violence which occurred in Assam recently are very unfortunate. I know that these incidents have resulted in the disruption of the lives of a large number of people. We fully sympathize with those families which have been affected by the violence. We are doing everything possible to provide relief to them. I also promise to you that our Government will make every effort to understand the reasons behind the violence and work hard with the State Governments to ensure that such incidents are not repeated in any part of the country.

Re: Internal Security Watch
An Excellent Read for the Morning.
‘Stateless’ remedy to illegal problem
‘Stateless’ remedy to illegal problem
The ethnic-cum-communal violence in Kokrajhar, resulting in 100 people brutally killed and four lakh rendered homeless, has been a great humanitarian tragedy. The root cause for this mayhem is the changing demographic profile of the region. Ethnic violence of greater dimension took place in Assam during the 1983 Nellie massacre when over 2,000 Bangladeshis were killed in one night, but far fewer rendered homeless.
Assam has been in the eye of East Bengal, now Bangladesh, for over a century. In 1905, the Muslim League demanded “Bange-Islam”, merging sparsely populated Assam with heavily populated Muslim majority East Bengal. Mass migration from East Bengal into Assam continued. In the 1931 Assam census report, the British Census Superintendent expressed grave concern over Assamese people getting engulfed by this influx. During the Second World War, Sir Mohammad Sadaulla, the chief minister of Assam, gave a big fillip to this influx. Lord Wavell in The Viceroy’s Journal wrote that in the name of “Grow More Food”, Sadaulla was “growing more Muslims”. The 1946 Cabinet plan placed Assam and Bengal in Group C. Had this been accepted, Assam would be part of Bangladesh today. During a visit to Guwahati in 1946, Jinnah confidently declared that he had Assam in his pocket.
Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, in The Myth of Independence, asserts that the dispute between India and Pakistan is not only about Kashmir but also some districts of Assam adjacent to East Pakistan. Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, in his book Eastern Pakistan: Its Population, Delimitation and Economics, wrote, “Eastern Pakistan must include Assam to be financially and economically strong.” Various intellectuals in Bangladesh have been advocating lebensraum (living space) for Bangladesh in Assam.
The Congress has been encouraging illegal migration from Bangladesh to build its votebank. Dev Kant Barua, of “Indira is India and India is Indira” fame, as Congress president declared that his party will always win elections in Assam with the help of Alis and coolies; the former standing for Bangladeshi migrants and the latter for tea garden labour.
B.K. Nehru, a respected member of the ruling family, was the governor of Assam in the Sixties. He writes in his autobiography, Nice Guys Finish Second, that three politicians from Assam in Delhi guided the Congress’ policy on Assam. They were Dev Kant Barua, Moinul Haque Chowdhry former private secretary to Jinnah and then a Cabinet minister and Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed, another Cabinet minister who later became President. B.K. Nehru and B.P. Chaliha, the then chief minister of Assam, took up the issue of illegal migrants from Bangladesh but were restrained.
He laments, “Chaliha placed the national interests above the party but the party high command thought otherwise.” Lt. Gen. Jameel Mahmood, the Eastern Army Commander in the Nineties, advised Jyoti Basu and Hiteshwar Saikia, the then chief ministers of Bengal and Assam respectively, that if action was not taken against the Bangladeshi infiltrators, we would have to redraw the boundaries of India in the Northeast. He also wrote to the Army Headquarters that a Kashmir like situation would develop in Dhubri, abutting the narrow Siliguri corridor.
On April 10, 1992, Hiteshwar Saikia stated that there were three million Bangladeshi illegal migrants in Assam. Some MLAs threatened to withdraw support from his government. This would have resulted in his falling. Two days later he committed a volte face and issued a statement that there were no illegal migrants in Assam.
Indrajit Gupta, the home minister told Parliament on May 6, 1997, that there were 10 million illegal Bangladeshi migrants in India, of which three million were reported in Assam. In 1998, as governor of Assam, I submitted a 42-page printed report to the President, pointing out that these illegal migrants were not only changing the demography of Assam but also posing a grave threat to our national security.
I made 15 recommendations, including effective border fencing, multi-purpose identity cards, updating national register of citizens and repeal of Illegal Migrants (Determination by Tribunal) Act. The latter applied only to Assam and facilitated illegal migration. I also recommended that as the Bangladesh government, including Sheikh Hasina, did not accept the fact about illegal migrants, it was not possible to deport them. They should be declared stateless citizens with no voting rights nor be allowed to acquire immovable property.
Twenty Congress MPs from the Northeast appealed to the President to recall me for dabbling in politics. No action was taken on my recommendations. Halfway through my tenure in Assam, Tarun Gogoi became the chief minister. He issued statements to the press about what he referred to as my constitutional impropriety in raking up Bangladeshi migrants’ issue. He asked the Centre to restrain me. He was unaware of any Bangladeshi illegal migrants in Assam. Today halfway through his third term as chief minister, he seems to have become wiser. He now admits that Assam is sitting on a volcano. He has even accepted that there are 39,000 illegal Bangladeshi migrants in Assam.
The Supreme Court struck down the IMDT Act in 2005, quoting extracts from my report to the President. The government brought back the IMDT Act through the backdoor by amending the Foreigners Act. This, too, has been struck down. The judiciary has referred to the Bangladeshi infiltration as “demographic aggression”. Gauhati high court, in a judgment delivered on July 23, 2008, has observed that Bangladeshi migrants have become kingmakers. Eleven out of 27 districts of Assam have migrant majority.
Two Muslims were killed possibly by Bodos on July 6. The migrant militants retaliated by shooting four Bodo leaders. This led to widespread violence. Both communities have suffered grievously. On July 20, the state government asked for military help which ministry of defence approved on July 24 and the Army got deployed on July 25. The blame game is being played between the Centre and the state. Apart from accusing the Centre of delay, Mr Gogoi has even blamed it for not providing intelligence. The latter, in such cases, is the responsibility of the state government.
Neiphun Riyu, the chief minister of Nagaland, has been reporting that Bangladeshi migrants are receiving arms training in the jungles bordering Assam and Nagaland. This was ignored. The recent ethnic clashes in Kokrajhar show new-found aggressive militancy among Bangladeshi migrants. The All-India United Democratic Front is the second largest party in the state Assembly. It is primarily a communal party of Bangladesh migrants functioning as rival of the Congress. It has been garnering support from minorities all over the country. The recent violence unleashed in Mumbai and Pune is also a result of this.
Apart from ensuring peace and rehabilitating the affected people of both communities, the government must declare illegal migrants stateless citizens. It has all the justification to do so. Over one lakh non-Muslim refugees of 1947 living in Jammu are still stateless citizens with no voting rights nor the right to acquire immovable property. Elsewhere in the country these 1947 refugees were immediately given full citizenship, with two becoming Prime Ministers and one deputy Prime Minister.
A pusillanimous and appeasement approach to the Assam problem is suicidal for national security.

I have to seriously start reading the machinations of Nehru during the initial stages of freedom. The above article piqued my interest to check out Moinula Hoque Choudhury.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moinul_Hoque_Choudhury
The white washing of his story is similar to the white washing of India's history. He joins Muslim League in 1946, the peak of direct action day and becomes the general secretary of youth front of Muslim League on the national level. Since he is from assam, he couldnt join Pakistan. No problemo, he joins the congress and is immediately given a congress ticket for a mla. He rises to become the industries minister of India during indira.
and the white washing of his history in wiki is to be seen to believed. When he is in muslim league during the direct action day, he is "inspired" by Netaji to become a "freedom fighter".
This guy is also a protege of Fakhrudin Ali Ahmed, the emergency president.
This history of congress where yesterday's murderers suddenly become the white knights because of okays from Nehru and Delhi is unknown to me. Brihaspati ji always hints at it. This is the first concrete example which I found.

I cannot believe that INC which was an umbrella party for many freedom fighters, why did it start taking anti-national actions post-independence? Earlier exceptions have now turned into rules, with rare exceptions of patriotism/statesmanship. I cannot believe that such a big party of India can have only anti-national elements. Why this apparent inconsistency? This is not a political question, this is a question related to effect on Internal Security of India. All compromises with anti-national forces is at the detriment of national security.

It is clear that Gandhi and his coteries including Nehru/Patel had pushed out Netaji out of congress. They never could reconcile or support Bhagat Singh, Chandrasekhar, Alluri Sitarama Raju. They didnt want to touch VD Savarkar or his followers with a barge pole but were always welcoming Ali Brothers and fuelled the seperatism among muslims. Very few of true blue congressis were ever dumped to andamans ala Savarkar or hanged.
Once is an error, twice is happenstance, if it is more than that, it is deliberate. There is something missing in the story.

Re: Internal Security Watch
After studying the situation for years, I have come to the conclusion that all anti-national and anti-Hindu forces in India rally under the banner of Congress and this party is the enemy of India. If India has to survive, this party has to die. This party was a creation of the Goras and was created to create controlled opposition whose agenda could be mainpulated to suit British interests.

I personally wouldnt jump to that conclusion either. My instincts are pointing towards the Ghadar conspiracy case. It is a turning point in the Independence movement whose importance like the naval mutiny is never mentioned.varunkumar wrote:After studying the situation for years, I have come to the conclusion that all anti-national and anti-Hindu forces in India rally under the banner of Congress and this party is the enemy of India. I am noob myself. I am myself trying to make sense out of it. I had started reading on the cellular jail in the wiki and noticed the timeframe, and various convicts in it. Something clicked in me. Thats about it. One observation which I make is around 30 years from 1857, there was the revolt in poona, then again the ghadar case where hundreds of NRIs were trying to rise an army revolt and then the naval mutiny in 1946 after the same time frame.
We observe that uptil then NRIs didnt actually play much of a significant role in the freedom struggle. Almost exactly at the same time Gandhi another NRI arrives and he is handed the entire congress party on a platter.
