Stick to VZW LTE hotspot, but I would also look at ATT LTE hotspot as well. Check root metrics website for coverage in your area.

Sammy is making money hand over fist from Android. At least for the next 2-3 years. Sammy will sell services along side its devices. They aren't in a hurry, but depends on profits and other Android competitors. Should WP gain acceptance, don't be surprised they may make Galaxy WP devices. Should be buttery smooth. :P

^^^In case of WP, Sammy will be late to the game same as GB was in case of Android so don't expect any magic from them there. Plus I dont think they will do that, instead they will strike out on their own after forking Android. That will happen once they can create their own LBS platform which is pretty much the only thing tying them to Chacha at the moment.

Takla is truly amazing and understands the essence of retail. Look at his quote:
There are two kinds of companies: Those that work to try to charge more and those that work to charge less. We will be the second.

I very frequently get the question: 'What's going to change in the next 10 years?' And that is a very interesting question; it's a very common one. I almost never get the question: 'What's not going to change in the next 10 years?' And I submit to you that that second question is actually the more important of the two -- because you can build a business strategy around the things that are stable in time. ... n our retail business, we know that customers want low prices, and I know that's going to be true 10 years from now. They want fast delivery; they want vast selection. It's impossible to imagine a future 10 years from now where a customer comes up and says, 'Jeff I love Amazon; I just wish the prices were a little higher,' [or] 'I love Amazon; I just wish you'd deliver a little more slowly.' Impossible. And so the effort we put into those things, spinning those things up, we know the energy we put into it today will still be paying off dividends for our customers 10 years from now. When you have something that you know is true, even over the long term, you can afford to put a lot of energy into it.

Top notch tablet with fantastic content and things like Kindle lending library. And now free tech support. Amazon prime is legendary for adding value over time -- at first it was only free 2 day delivery. Now it includes TV shows and movies.

The reason Kindle Fires are a success, as I had mentioned before, is that they are a great value. None of the BS vis-a-vis open source and forking and closed source etc. Takla gets it: Tablets are for consumption. He has created an ecosystem of things to consume and a tablet to consume it with. People will buy it in millions. Last count, takla owned 30% of the tablet market.

The next thing to watch out is Steambox. Valve already has 50 million users and hundreds of games. Lets see if they can take a bite out of the console market.

Takla gets both the strate-e-jee and implementation. How he skillfully blindsided Chacha in the tablet game using Chacha's own OS is something to be admired since he recognized where the value add happens. Interestingly someone who is similar to him in this type of thinking is Zuckerberg.

Takla is the CEO who is the closest to what the Mahdi was. The Mayday button which he introduced is a sign of things to come. The first Kindle Fire was a PoS from a device perspective but now they are pretty competitive and will take sales away from Nexus. The person who designed the housing of these Kindle Fires is a young SDRE wimmens.

This is a good thing, as it will force GOOG to keep Nexus prices low. As it is the Nexus 7 2013 is a really good device, and I am enjoying it very much. It did go up in price by $30 from 2012 instead of going down by $30 - so that is a dissapointment. The new 7" Kindle Fire HDX without ads is $244. I'm sure it will do well, but at that price point, I want to be able to install my own core apps for email, calender, contacts and I want to be able to install apps from the Google Play Store. It is also not clear if you can consume Amazon content outside of the US.

You are missing the point. If you want to install apps from Google Play, why would you buy a Kindle Fire? :-? Kindle Fire is not about the price of the device, neither is Nexus 7 - both are sold below cost except the latter is subsidized by Chacha so that Asus can recoup its margins.

Then get a Nexus. Kindle Fire just happens to be an Android tablet becoz Takla could grab Android the OS and Foxconn was ready with a reference design in double quick time, it could be any other OS for that matter, Takla doesn't really care.

^^^That is what I have already, but the Kindle Fire does look appealing as you get Amazon Prime content. I'd like to have the best of both worlds, or maybe you consider it too greedy?

Something worth tracking in terms of legal precedence...

Angry email users can take Google to court for keyword scanning, judge rules
"Accepting Google's theory of implied consent — that by merely sending emails to or receiving emails from a Gmail user, a non-Gmail user has consented to Google's interception of such emails for any purposes — would eviscerate the rule against interception."

Htc is trying to breathe some life into the rather dead looking android home screen with its blinkfeed live home screen.

No prizes to say where it is copied from.

Hey, I love Takla as he gets a lot of business from me. From books, DVDs, electronics, appliances, furniture to hex devices.
Instant Video is missing, but is available for Google TV, which is only on select devices and not on Nexus. Go figure. :-?

That's like the case where YouTube app made available by Chacha on XBOX but not on WP. Games companies play for leverage.

HTC is in financial trouble any way you look at it. Why would any group put its assets in to a sinking ship? I predict HTC will be sold off in a year either in its entirety or in pieces.
The HTC One X which came out in spring 2012 will not be getting Android 4.4 KitKat. The HTC One Developer Edition is getting Android 4.3, but outside of that is very questionable.

Similarly, even though Black Berry has been sold to a private equity group, Black Berry may still be broken up and assets sold as Black Berry still has financial problems no matter who owns them.

back to a pooch to network gurus: bandwidth
http://electronicdesign.com/communicati ... -baud-rate
bandwidth for a maximum bit rate is: B =C/2
why is this div by 2? is it a 1 and 0 makes a data signal?

^^^It it explained in the link you provided. The bandwidth for max bit rate works out that way due to the modulation method. In this case it is PSK or QAM.

The Circle is the exhilarating new novel from Dave Eggers, best-selling author of A Hologram for the King, a finalist for the National Book Award.

When Mae Holland is hired to work for the Circle, the world’s most powerful internet company, she feels she’s been given the opportunity of a lifetime. The Circle, run out of a sprawling California campus, links users’ personal emails, social media, banking, and purchasing with their universal operating system, resulting in one online identity and a new age of civility and transparency. As Mae tours the open-plan office spaces, the towering glass dining facilities, the cozy dorms for those who spend nights at work, she is thrilled with the company’s modernity and activity. There are parties that last through the night, there are famous musicians playing on the lawn, there are athletic activities and clubs and brunches, and even an aquarium of rare fish retrieved from the Marianas Trench by the CEO. Mae can’t believe her luck, her great fortune to work for the most influential company in the world—even as life beyond the campus grows distant, even as a strange encounter with a colleague leaves her shaken, even as her role at the Circle becomes increasingly public. What begins as the captivating story of one woman’s ambition and idealism soon becomes a heart-racing novel of suspense, raising questions about memory, history, privacy, democracy, and the limits of human knowledge.

yeah almost felt like a tour of some new age google or apple campus. esp the descriptions of the no expenses spared in highest quality materials, decor, fittings, food, dorms, socialization events. and getting perks like free prototype tablets and phones of highest spec before IOC.
there is also the new movie Elysium where the rich and well connected live in a giant HALO type space station near the earth, free of any want or disease...while the earth looks like mogadishu and the not so fortunate to be left behind are policed by ruthless robots and merceneries and denied medical care.
