The realist in me says world order is who in the world orders whom. It's a pecking order, a hierarchy.

India is moving up a few notches, pushing some down, displacing others, and disturbing established groupings. I expect resistance from every side, assistance from very few, like Japan, as long as it suits their own needs.

I'm not an expert to comment on how true or false the content is, but the fact that it's being taught to barely teenagers in such terms is quite strange to put it mildly.

Cyranoji - Truth or not doesn't matter. It might be equally or less plausible to 100 other theories floating around. But the fact of the matter is...every kid has to learn that their identity is something they should be proud of ( especially when they are young - to believe in themselves and to be inspired) When they get older, they have to find the reason and/or create the reason ( Artha ) to be proud of themselves and for others to be proud of them. Only in india we talk about high faluting philosophy ( "Is this world real?" "What is real?" ) and confuse the kids. I fully agree with that, knowing and being proud of one's identity is needed. Our own itihaasaas refer to Ram as from "Ina kula/vamsa" and Pandavas as "kurus" etc. But when its achieved while putting down others and highlighting their excesses towards one's peoples, then we are creating a 2 fold trap. Firstly, the current generation becomes psychologically bound to follow the footsteps of their ancestors instead of treading new paths in the present, and secondly the need for payback/revenge starts rearing its head and we can see what it has made Ukranians do to Russophones in Donbass.

To move forward, people need to move on. Else we will end up wanting todays people pay for what their ancestors did to ours and vice versa, which very quickly degenerates.

A senior Ukrainian presidential aide has told the BBC that between 100 and 200 Ukrainian troops are being killed on the front line every day.
Mykhaylo Podolyak said Ukraine needed hundreds of Western artillery systems to level the playing field with Russia in the eastern Donbas region.
He also said Kyiv is not ready to resume peace talks with Moscow.
Ukrainian troops are under relentless bombardment as Russian forces attempt to take control of the whole of Donbas.
"The Russian forces have thrown pretty much everything non-nuclear at the front and that includes heavy artillery, multiple rocket launch systems and aviation," Mr Podolyak said.
He repeated Ukraine's appeal for more weapons from the West, saying that the "complete lack of parity" between the Russian and Ukrainian armies was the reason for Ukraine's heavy casualty rate.
"Our demands for artillery are not just some kind of whim... but an objective need when it comes to the situation on the battlefield," he said, adding that Ukraine needs 150 to 300 rocket launch systems to match Russia - a much higher number than it has received so far.
Mr Podolyak also said peace talks could only resume if Russia surrendered the territory it had gained since it invaded on 24 February.

Never thought I'd see the day when an inveterate scumbag like Henry Kissinger stood in opposition to an even worse scumbag.

1. Kissinger has long said Ukraine should have some form of neutrality in order to be a "bridge between Russia and Europe"; at Davos he said that, while "that opportunity ... does not now exist in the same manner, ... it could still be conceived as an ultimate objective."

2. Soros said at Davos that Russia's invasion of Ukraine "may have been the beginning of the Third World War and our civilization may not survive it."

3. Kissinger said at Davos that "negotiations on peace need to begin in the next two months," implying that otherwise the war could spill over into other parts of Europe; "ideally," he said, "the dividing line [between Ukraine and Russia] should return the status quo ante," i.e. with Moscow exercising de facto control over Crimea and parts of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

4. Kissinger cautioned against turning the war into a battle “against Russia itself,” rather than for “the freedom of Ukraine,” because “Russia has been, for 400 years, an essential part of Europe,” critical to maintaining a “European balance.” The West’s policies, he said, “should keep in mind the restoration of this role is important to develop, so that Russia is not driven into a permanent alliance with China.”

5. Soros said that “we must mobilize all our resources to bring the war to an early end. The best and perhaps only way to preserve our civilization is to defeat Putin as soon as possible.”

I dont understand why guys like Soros support the wester countries known for their anti-semitic history. Ukraine is not good here either. They all know that WWII was won because of Russia mainly.

I have to say the Russian people have surprised even me with this surge in patriotism. They seem to have truly entered a “Great Patriotic War” mindset now. The West commands nowhere near this level of patriotic fervor from their own populace.

Reality has started to bite.if no action is taken a series of strikes are planned on bigger scale by the end of month. Poverty is visible. Do not think so. They will increase efficiency of boiler and heaters. Solar energy is really making life easier. Modern insulation is so effective that Govts have reduced the financial help . It is common in Belgium to earn money by selling extra electricity to state. Heavy industry will suffer.

The city that I lived in, West Berlin had sun shine for just 100 days on average per year. Often on sunny days, the sunlight was weak. It was even less in Manchester where I lived in for about 2 years. I do not know if this is good enough for ample solar power. Most of Industrial Europe was dark and gloomy, specially winters were terrible that caused depression in the inhabitants. We in India are far better off with so much of sunshine everywhere. Our daylight hours in winter are not that small. Scullery maids is a good idea.

Vladimir Putin and Russian state-owned energy giant Gazprom appear to be turning the screw on Europe by limiting gas supplies. The head of the International Energy Agency has now warned that Europe needs to prepare immediately for the eventuality of Russia turning off all gas exports to the region this winter. The invasion of Ukraine has triggered a scramble by countries to wean themselves off energy imports from Russia, but fresh urgency has been injected into those efforts.
What’s happening?
Russia has begun cutting off countries from supplies in an apparent move to hinder their efforts to fill their gas storage before the winter. Over the past week, Gazprom has cut supplies running through Europe’s major natural gas pipeline, Nord Stream 1, by 60%. This has triggered supply cuts in Italy, Austria, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Gas has also been shut off to a string of other countries including Poland, Bulgaria, France and the Netherlands. An explosion at a huge Freeport liquified natural gas (LNG) facility in the Texas Gulf Coast – which shipped gas to Europe – has also squeezed supplies.
Can Europe replace Russian gas by the winter?
No chance. Before the war, Russia supplied 40% of Europe’s gas supplies, so limitations on storing gas or ramping up imports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in certain countries including Germany make replacing Russian gas entirely near impossible in the short term. EU leaders have downplayed the likelihood of a total ban on Russian gas as it is seen as impractical and politically divisive.
Instead, nations are racing to fill up their storage caverns earlier in the year than usual. Europe’s underground storage caverns are 57% currently full. The European Commission has asked each country to reach 80% storage by the start of November, with Germany targeting 90% by the same point. However, without Russian gas, these targets will be hard to meet. “The only way they’ll get near the target is by paying very high prices. The US is sending LNG to Europe over Asia because countries in Europe are paying more,” said Investec oil and gas analyst Nathan Piper.

Gautam Saar you are absolutely right. In Belgium govt is so much involved in cutting the energy need per house hold that it is mind-boggling.
You call any energy company about your intention to put solar panels. They will check orientation of your house and you get feasibility report withi on 30 min.
You can ask for free report on energy plan for your house. Expert visits you to check heat loss plan your domus and a a detailed energy saving plan. They also apply for various subsidies that you may claim.
Average house temperature is kept very low.it may go down to 14C while you are a sleep you may know this.One of my friend has taken geothermal energy to his hear. Sitting warm without paying heating bill. Chalak guy. Any way I am talking about suburbia.

If you look on the globe, Paris is about the same N latitude as Montréal, Belgium is further north. Winters in western Europe are bearable due to winds blowing from south-west ie Atlantic towards the continent. But now and then this reverses and temperatures drop significantly. If they do that continuously even for a week, anyone depending heavily on renewable energy like solar, wind will freeze. There is no alternative to coal, gas, oil and with some caveats nuclear to get the on demand energy boost when you really need it. If the stupid Bruxelles gang (not belgians) don't wise up to this truth, they are preparing the deaths of thousands of vulnerable people this winter.

May be the will let it happen so that they can blame Putin even more, but that's very very bad strategy.

The coming winter will be a major reality check for a lot of people in Europe.

Are you referring to the Gulf Stream? That provides moderating temperatures in UK as well as the coasts of Western Europe. This gives much milder winters when compared to other areas on similar northern latitudes. Unfortunately, global warming may have an adverse effect on Gulf Stream, though the jury is still out on this.

Bismillah. Good to note that BR aam abduls are well versed in every aspect of life.Even the likes of 9.5 class passed one like moi.

Gobar gas (methane) is one of the principal causes of Global warming. All the cows/animals raised for consumption is a major cause. CO2 is in natural cycle absorbed by living plants and the ocean bed plants. Man is producing more C02 by burning coal and gasoline automobiles. The later are slowly being replaced with electric. Countries (like India) have better chance of replacing coal burning thermal plants with solar power/wind power and additionally perhaps nuclear.

Personally I think this whole global warming made redundant and now replaced by climate change is a crock of gobar. A woke scam from which many make easy money and buy good conscience for really cheap. It takes away focus from real issues like land, water, air pollution (so passé), massive habitat destruction and loss of bio diversity. At least sustainable development had something tangible, this climate change siht is so malleable and vapourware that you can get scammed in a hundred different ways. Like the whole of Germany by the greens right now.

Gobar gas plants just burns methane after it is caught in a digester, where gobar is placed. Fertilizer is also produced as a biproduct. It was not very successful in India, but it did take off in China, if I remember correctly.

IIRC there was this guy who managed to capture CH4 from cow shed top, compress it and used the gas to cook food.
