Ru investigators ask why ambassador assassin was not captured alive

Turkey has said Initial findings suggest he continued to fire at police officers, shouting: "You cannot capture me alive!" Anadolu reported.

The officers shot Altintas in the legs, but he continued to return fire while crawling on the ground, the agency said.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has defended the police actions.

In turn, there are lots of photos of a high number of Turkish military servicemen deploying and operating in the area of the fighting. With the recent reports that FSA militants just run away when they see ISIS members, questions arise: Where are all members of the so-called “moderate opposition”? Are there more Turkish soldiers than pro-Turkey militants involved in the operation?

Reports from the coast near Adler (location of Sochi Internaional airport) report a visible flash in the sky about the time the aircraft lost contact. It was about 6km ofshore at the time.

As per lieutenant in Turkish army who was injured in al-bab operations, and is newly graduated, he said while taking the hospital in Bab, FSA couldn't provide them with cover fire from the sorrounding areas because they "don't like operating at night"...

The main theories as to why the Tu-154 crashed off Sochi’s coast do not include a terrorist act, Russian Transport Minister Maksim Sokolov said.

According to Sokolov, a “technical problem or piloting error” could have led to the disaster.

“Today, the main theories do not include terrorism, so we assume that either technical problems or a piloting error may have been the cause. But I stress that only an investigation, along with a special technical Ministry of Defense committee will tell us for sure,” the minister said at a briefing.

Meanwhile, Erdogan bhai is very upset that US is not aiding Turkey in its Al-Bab operation. He has been asking for air support but not getting any. No reason given either.

“We would like to express once more that the international coalition should make a special commitment particularly to provide air support. We are coordinating with the international coalition. It is unacceptable that air support is not provided without a legitimate reason,” he said.

Ankara’s offensive on the city is not being supported by coalition air strikes because it was “independently” launched by Turkey, said U.S. Col. John Dorrian, a spokesman for the coalition fighting the jihadist group in Syria and Iraq.
“That’s a national decision that they have made,” Dorrian said.

Well.. that sounds very reasonable. The Kurds are not valid targets for USAF anyhow, except through "mistaken" coordinates. The Kurdish wimmens and children must be kept alive for the ISIS to use. Can't damage the merchandise.

So, strange as it may seem, Erdogan appears to have gone out on a limb without support from anyone. Good question, does he dare overfly Syrian territory with his F-16s?
It may be a coordinated Vlad-Zee decision to let Erdogan and his ISIS creations enjoy each other's company.

Russian jets carry out airstrikes to aid Turkish Army in Aleppo’s Al-Bab

BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:00 A.M.) - The Russian Air Force carried out its first airstrikes over the key city of Al-Bab on Sunday, marking the first time during this war that their aircraft have directly aided the Turkish Army.

According to a military source at the Kuweires Airport, a group of Russian Su-24 and Su-34 fighters jets carried out airstrikes over Al-Bab in east Aleppo, resulting in the destruction of several mechanisms that belonged to the so-called "Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham" (ISIS).

Despite Russian air assistance on Sunday, the Turkish Army was unable to maintain control over the Al-Farouq Hospital and Jabal Al-Aqil after the Islamic State terrorists scored a direct hit with their VBIED (vehicle borne improvised explosive device).

The Russian and Turkish governments are currently on good terms for the first time in nearly a year, putting an end to the differences they had over the downing of the Su-24 fighter jet in northern Latakia last year.

Iraqi forces are preparing for a fresh push against Islamic State-held Mosul 'within several days' a US general has said, as American soldiers prepare to get closer to the front line than ever before in the two month campaign to take the jihadi stronghold.

Although James said that the risks to US personnel - three of which have been killed in northern Iraq in the last 15 months - was still only classified as 'moderate', the involvement may mark the biggest combat role for US soldiers in Iraq since America officially withdrew from the country in 2011.

Oh! So now Turkish Army has only RuAF to save them!!!!!! This is a fine turn of events. Looks like allowing Turkish AF to enter Syrian airspace is not worth the precedent, hence RuAF doing the job for them. Interesting that a NATO force is able to coordinate with RuAF to do precision strikes, avoiding kitten shelters etc.

Russia tested over 160 new weapons in Syrian operation – defense minister

While the primary goal of Russia’s military operation in Syria is to prevent the disintegration of the country, it has also provided a chance to field-test 162 advanced Russian weapons, Russia’s defense minister reported.

“During the operation in Syria, 162 advanced and upgraded weapons have been tested in combat. They have proven to be highly efficient,” Sergey Shoigu told a Thursday meeting of senior Russian officials. The session, chaired by President Vladimir Putin, was focused on the annual report of the minister.

Among the systems tested in Syria were Su-30SM and Su-34 fighter jets, Mi-28N and Ka-52 helicopters, and Kalibr cruise missiles, as well as other arms. According to Shoigu, 10 of the 162 weapons tested revealed flaws that had not been identified on test ranges, prompting the ministry to stop buying them and ask the developers to fix them.

Shoigu said Russia’s involvement has “prevented the disintegration of the Syrian state, broken the chain of ‘color revolutions’ in the Middle East and North Africa, and launched a process for reaching a political settlement and reconciliation between warring parties.”

So far, 18,800 sorties and 71,000 airstrikes have been carried out by the Russian Air Force as part of the operation, the minister said. Russian warplanes have hit hundreds of militant training camps, arms workshops, military vehicles, and artillery systems.

Isis fighters in Syria found to be receiving benefit payments from Danish government

Denmark's government is attempting to recover thousands of pounds' worth of benefit money from dozens of people who have fled the country to join Isis in Syria.

At least 36 people who are understood to have left Denmark to join Isis as fighters have continued to receive unemployment benefit, according newspaper Ekstra Bladet.
