He was the producer, his production company is actually called "Amir Khan Productions' lol and he did make most of the money from Dangal. Most of the big actors have their own production companies and release movies under their own banner. Same for SRK as well with 'Red Chillies Entertainment'.
Bart S Saar,
Actually it doesn't mean Amir Khan has made all the money of Dangal. The obscene amount of 5000 crs for Dangal in China only, if i got that right could refer to the business the movie did in China ( business including the theater refreshments and others). But even if the movie made the money by selling tickets it still wouldn't mean he gets "all" the money.

It all depends on the revenue sharing model that was mooted and this being one of the first/early bollywood film, the revenue for Amir Khan should/would naturally be low as they are testing waters in releasing a foreign language film there.

I will give an example of Bahubali when S.S. Rajamouli, the director in one of the telugu channel interview was congratulated/ asked about the 800 crs earned in China by Bahubali1, he mentioned this is only for bragging about the numbers collected and the Indian producer gets very less as every distributor took 50% cut for each step. The main company releasing in china gets 50% of the revenue generated and the sub distribution companies get further 50% of the available pie and so on and the producer of Bahubali got very little implied as there were 4-6 layers of 50% model sharing. (in the end they got about 30-50 crs was what he was implying)

ideally this should be for Amir Khan as well as his last film Thugs of Hindustan was a disaster, but if they are round tripping the money then it is work for ED in the future. I do agree that its more of brand being damaged on failure of his films. A couple of more disasters and people will stop remembering him as an actor. When was the last time SRK had a genuine hit that actually made money commensurate with his self anointed Bollywood badshaah title, Sallu mian movies make a bucket load of money, especially from abroad even though he is coasting/no acting in about all of them.

Moral victory for the film makers that they could get few people in theatres with their carpet bombing publicity blitz and didn't meet the fate of LSC through some clever media management.

But if the movie is anywhere near the proclaimed budget, it will be a monumental disaster.

krk is very quiet, he even tweeted Im back for my revenge and deleted in greater haste as if he got a call from MH police/underworld. He is incommunicado and posting 'going to jail was in his destiny'
As pointed out media has been bought, all you read is bumper booking not substantiated by empty cinema halls all across India including NCR.
If Kjo admitting his partner Mukherjee babu was given rs 400 Cr [multiply it by twice for real amount] and even going by media portal collections sympathetic to Bwood, collection all over world + India is Rs 250 Cr only so far which will start curtailing (if there was any really), rs 400 cr is not recoverable amount by any stretch , one may add some OTT fees. Shamsera, LSC sold to netflix for rs 50 Cr or less as per Toi .
SO clearly film is a flop even worse is circulating clips of darshak who stepped in by mistake warning others to stay away for sake of mental health.
So boycott is certainly on & working.

Pankaj Advani pockets world title number 25 in Kuala Lumpur.

India's leading cueist Pankaj Advani on Saturday claimed his 25th world title after outclassing compatriot Sourav Kothari 4-0 in the 150 up billiards final at the World Championships here on Saturday.

Advani manoeuvred his cue like a magician's wand as he entertained the spectators who showed up in large numbers.

In the first frame, Advani made his intentions clear that this title was his from word go. He opened the proceedings without any delay to secure
the first frame with a 149 break while his opponent, who is still seeking his maiden IBSF World title, had yet to score a point in the 150-up format.

The best-of-seven summit clash saw Advani compete fiercely to ensure he completed a billiards National-Asian-World golden trifecta in the same calendar year for a record fifth time.

The second frame went Advani's way after Kothari failed to capitalise with the limited chances given to him by his worthy opponent. With the help of a 77 break, Advani was halfway home with a 2-0 lead. There on, Advani turned on the heat, mesmerising the Malaysian crowd with some fine billiards.

Advani's craftsmanship saw him make the tournament's highest break of 153 in the third bringing himself one frame away from familiar glory.

In the fourth frame, Advani proved yet again why he is the man to beat in the 3-ball sport as he put together exquisite breaks of 86 and 60 unfinished to put the last nail in the coffin and seal the deal.

Kothari's forgettable final, witnessed a total of 72 points scored by him while Advani amassed over 600 points to defend his title for a fifth year in a row. Due to the pandemic, the event last took place in 2019 and got revived after a three-year gap.

An elated Advani said,"It's a dream to defend a world title for five times in a row. Truly pleased with how I've played and won every billiards event I participated in this year. Feel honoured to bring to my country yet another gold medal at a world level."

Advani's last world title came over 12 months ago in Qatar where he won the IBSF 6-Red Snooker World Cup.

‘It’s going to be an earthquake’: IPL’s global push to reshape cricket
More than a decade after the IPL revolutionised the game in India, its clubs are going on a global acquisition spree. Teams such as the Knight Riders, part-owned by Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, and the Mumbai Indians of tycoon Mukesh Ambani now own more than a dozen franchises from the Gulf to the US. IPL teams last month bought all six franchises in an upcoming Twenty20 league in South Africa.
While the richest cricket boards such as those of England or Australia may continue to be able to lure top players with large contracts, some worry that players from smaller cricketing nations that cannot compete financially with the IPL will gravitate towards domestic leagues.

and if you watch the games, they are mind blowing.
weird looking pawn moves, sacrifices galore - sometimes multiple pieces.
chess has undergone a change. equivalent: from Test cricket -> T20
young Indians (and Uzbek) will dominate in the future.

Yes, they are very good, but keep in mind that this is Rapid chess, not classical games where Magnus has dominated. India is in a good place talent-wise but it will take some time before these young guns start dominating classical games as well. There wasn't a single Indian in the candidates tournament (which is classical chess) and there is a reason why Vishy is still India #1 in classical ratings (other than his being awesome, which he is).

^^^ In last chess olympiad, all three (who were not even on India's A team) did *extremely* well ... even better than India A. Magnus, as everyone knows, is *extremely* strong and has dominated in rapid Chess in earlier years, IMO, even more decisively then Classical. Vishy is/was also *very* good in Rapid chess too.

Games as somebody said *are* extremely good and *very* enjoyable. It was a surprise to everyone (even to Magnus who said do right after the game) how Magnus's Queen was trapped right in the center of the board!!

I remember, in one of the games few weeks ago also, Magnus (even though he did not win) applauded the youngsters brilliant game just after the game finished.

This is the most competitive era in chess ever by far, Arjun had an almost perfect olympiad tournament as Amber pointed out (the one Magnus applauded was Prag, who seems to enjoy playing for his interesting moves). The games by the teenagers are very hard fought (they attack Magnus with no fear, for once the emotional weakness factor doesn't seem to be such an issue) & interesting as acknowledged by most commentators and eventually Magnus will drop off (surprisingly top chess GMs drop off with age like most athletes, Vishy being a huge exception & somehow still in top 10, Kasparov nowhere close anymore) so chances for a world champ eventually are pretty good.

Sultan Of Johor Cup: India Win Penalty Shootout Against Australia To Claim Third Trophy.

Two-time champions India defeated Australia 5-4 in a nail-biting penalty shootout to reclaim the Sultan of Johor Cup crown, breaking their five-year-old title jinx in Johor Bahru on Saturday. (More Hockey News)

The teams were level at 1-1 after regulation time in the title encounter.
In the shootout, both teams ended with 3-3 scoreline, forcing the match into sudden death.

Uttam Singh scored twice in the shootout, including in sudden death, while Vishnukant Singh, Ankit Pal and Sudeep Chirmako also sounded the board for India.

For Australia, Burns Cooper, Foster Brodee, Brooks Joshua and Hart Liam entered their names on the scoresheet.

It was Sudeep, who drew the first blood when he scored a field goal in the 13th minute, but Jack Holland produced the equaliser in the 28th minute as the two teams finished the regulation time at 1-1.

The Indians have won the age group tournament twice -- 2013 and 2014 -- and finished second best four times in 2012, 2015, 2018 and the last edition of the event in 2019.

The tournament was not held in 2020 and 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
