There is something funny about this "farmer's agitation".
they have stopped an IA convoy in punjab.
#Indianarmies war exercise convoy was stopped by the so called protesters in Punjab .
This comes at a time when we are facing #Chinese agression.
It's time to invoke essential services maintenance act and put an end to this drama.
@HMOIndia Should act.

It also shows the desperation set in amongst the 'farmer brokers'

. They are just trying to up the ante so that GoI (or a state government) would have to use force against the 'farmer brokers' and then try to get some sympathy wave. GoI should ideally work behind the scenes (which most likely they are doing) and go for the 'farmer brokers' leadership's financial routes.
'Farmer brokers' were trying to show a picture of a traffic jam in Delhi border - caused by extensive vehicle checking by Dill Pulis - as a success of the 'farmer brokers' drama/bharat bandh. The only place where the 'bandh' worked seems to be the commie heaven of KL.

If Sidhu joins AAP at this juncture. INC will be totally destroyed.
The part of me that suffers from Prithvi Raj Chauhan syndrome has pity for the Bhai and Behan for the possibility of Siddhu joining AAP.
But the unemotional part of me thinks, what goes of my father. That Congress mukt Bharat is comming true.
But this is just a wet dream.
Siddu has to join AAP.

sidhu is bucking for the CM's gaddi and he has probably taken the chance to close out all other options for the congis by resigning from the party chief's post so they have little option but to nominate him as the CM candidate, going into the elections
sidhu may even start his campaigning for CM quite early so that pappu and pappi have no doubts of his intentions

Well said, the langoote indeed has magical powers. More than kangress mukt bharat, it Is looking more like gandy/chicha-mukt bharat with bharatiya leadership at the helm of kangress. Would we see two or very few party system? The backdoor dealings between players is tough for aam abdul to predict.

+1
But with one difference
IMHO Sidhu is a very sly Customer and has perfected the art of playing the buffoon
He probably feels the Cong will take a hit in Punjab polls due to the issue but not enough to be out of power.
So he very cleverly wants to put the blame of the loss of seats on the current CM and use that to get himself elevated to the post of CM, post the polls.
That way he gets to enjoy the power without the accountability.. something he has learnt from his pal across the border.. and those on this side of it..

sidhu has made a tactical move.
a lot now depends on how the dalit rank and file react. the congis may have been caught in a cleft stick, politically speaking, by empowering the dalits. Money will flow from the desert cults who will see a great opportunity to consolidate their hold.
A dalit CM may top the scales due to the chance to break out of the insidious hold of the jat majority arthiyas

looks like shifty sidhu wanted to have his way in the selection of ministers and allocation of portfolios, appointments to senior administrative posts including the muslim police chief he wanted.
That police chief's wife was already in the channi cabinet and on sidhu's abrupt departure, she has since resigned pledging abject allegiance to pappu ji maharaj
sidhu also did not want any jat sikh in any powerful position like home portfolio etc
in short, he wanted channi and his cabinet to be like maunmohun singh's rubber stamp enterprise with shifty himself playing the role of the mama mia, with channi keeping warm, the CM's seat for shifty
the papers are all full of it this morning
looks like shifty has got himself out, hit wicket

I know that focus is now on Punjab, but let me not miss the opportunity to make fun of the commies - the so called Communist Part of
India Kerala and its leadership who are champions in living at 'other's cost'. Daniel Raja is now whining that Kanhayya Kumar ditched the party and ideology

.
Kanhaiya Kumar has no faith in Communist ideology, expelled himself from CPI: D Raja. Not only he did this self expulsion he also took away the air conditioner unit placed by him at his office

. The position of the
Kerala leadership of CPI is even more comical . The shamless main stream media in KL had even proclaimed Kanhayya as the Che Guevera of India. Where as people in Begu Sarai perhaps were smarter and knew that this Che Guevera is a loafer of the first order.
And whether turn coats like Kanhayya can make any impact after joining Congress, that would be another bigger question (which Pappu and Pappini need to answer).
chetak wrote:A dalit CM may top the scales due to the chance to break out of the insidious hold of the jat majority arthiyas
But will this lead to a situation where RoL gets a big say in the state's politics? Especially after hearing the news that the so called 'Dalit Sikh' PM is actually a crypto-X'ian? I say this from KL experience. During Indira Gandhi's (and perhaps even upto Rajiv and PVNR) Congress politicians like K. Karunakaran held the fort, and they were proud Hindus. But after So.Ga took over the RoL factions started getting more power and prominence. The same pattern seems to be working in Punjab as well.

There are rumours in 'secular camp' that Siddhu may be a trojan horse/spy sent to the Congress camp by the BJP

We're not 'Jee Huzur 23': Sibal's jibe at Cong leadership
With several Congress leaders quitting the party and its Punjab unit in turmoil, senior party leader Kapil Sibal on Wednesday demanded that an immediate meeting of the Congress Working Committee (CWC) be convened and wondered who in the party was taking decisions in the absence of a full-time president.
Senior party leader Ghulam Nabi Azad has also written to Gandhi, demanding an immediate meeting of the CWC to discuss the current state of affairs in the organisation.
Sources said Azad, a former leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha who currently leads the 'Group of 23' leaders who have demanded organisational overhaul in the past, has sought internal discussions in the wake of exodus of its leaders.
Addressing the media, Sibal said a senior member of the 'Group of 23' has written to Congress president Sonia Gandhi for convening the Congress Working Committee meeting immediately to discuss the party affairs and the exodus.
Sibal said the grouping is 'not a Jee Huzur 23' and will continue to put forth the views and will continue to repeat the demands.
He said the Congress needs to be strengthened as a strong opposition to take on the government and once again reiterated the demands of the group for holding elections to the Congress president, the CWC and the central election committee.

Gandhis and the Punjab Congress muddle
When events like these take place, it is easy for the BJP to portray the Gandhis as latter-day versions of the Borgias or Medicis, who toy with their nobles and promote favourites, points out Vir Sanghvi.

Sorry for the delay in replying. Not only am I in a different time zone, but I an currently ill and not able to get to my computer very much.
Thanks for the video, Rudradev, and also the comments from Ambar. This is the first time that I have seen the presentation and it is substantially accurate, paricularly in the origins of the Inquisition in Spain and then Portugal. The bit on how the Portuguese ended in Goa (Timoja invited Albuquerque) is also correct. The Europeans always got into position by exploiting local divisions. Adil Shah (Idelcao to the Portuguese) though was from the Deccan and there were very few Goan Muslims at this time. After his defeat, Albuquerque forcibly converted all captured Muslim soldiers to Catholicism and married any widows of his dead soldiers to Portuguese soldiers there converting them and their children. This was along the lines of warfare in that had been running in the Iberian peninsular for six or seven hundred years. The Muslims did it to the Christians and Christians returned the favour when they had the upper hand.
Francis Xavier was a Spaniard and one of the first Jesuits an order founded by another Spaniard, Ignatius to preach against the Reformation (and also fight corruption in the Church), which was starting in Germany about that time. The Inquisition was brought into Spain and Portugal to weed out crypto converts ie. Muslims and Jews who publicly converted to Catholicism but practiced the old religion behind closed doors. This was the original intention of its importation to Goa , so I learnt that in the "old Conquests" Bardez, Salsette and Tiswadi, Hindus were persecuted if they they tried to escape to the areas the Portuguese did not control.
I won't go any further but say this is the first account I have heard of the Inquisition from a Goan Hindu. She is very well spoken. Her description of the Goan Christian Brahmins made me smile (I found out I was one in my twenties) and the aim of the Inquisition failed in stamping out the "Hindu" marriage customs where the bride is annointed with chosen spices and coconut milk (Ros). This custom is still practised among Christians. Some years ago my wife was approached by a girl at work, who asked her about "ros". My wife was surprised as the girl was English with the surname Jackson; it transpired that she had a Goan mother and was planning to marry and wanted to follow her mother's customs.
I was also pleased to see another Goan girl present India's reply to the Pakistani lies at the UNGA. Sneha Dubey is originally from Margao, Goa and moved to Pune and then JNU for her education.

Hindus swam across the Cumbarjua Canal with their Moortis of Gods to Ponda (Hindu heartland) where they re-established these moortis in temples. Hence Ponda came to be called as temple town of Goa. The Portuguese then introduced crocodiles in the canal to prevent Hindus from swimming over to the Hindu-controlled side. Not many people realize but Goa is 70% Hindu majority. Only one temple survives from the Kadamba times -- the tambdi surla temple from 13th century -- that was hidden in thick forests. The rest were all destroyed.

Again please keep the Goa mass murders in perspective.
This WAS Christian/European culture. As Gandhi said of the Moplahs, they were acting according to their faith.
And of course it was the Hindus’ fault for not being united. This absolves Christians of any accusations of depravity.
