Re: Indian Interests_2
Looking at the situation I cannot take a definite stand, if a war is inevitable or the current unstable situation will continue till everyone is exhausted and just goes home.
Because even though everyone is focusing on the proxies being used by Iran. Unkil also has his proxies and they have attacked Iran on a few occasions this year through Pakistan.
That should have an effect of bringing about some amount of caution within the Iranian decision making process to escalate or not. If the Iranians are deterred by the use of proxies, then we can expect this unstable situation to continue. If not then war happens.
In case of war breaking out, l am in agreement with the points raised by A.Deshmukh.

Impact on India:
-ve:
Disturbed Gulf trade route - highly likely.
Oil prices spike - very likely.
Exodus of NRIs from Gulf - likely. atleast from some states like Kuwait/Iraq that would be on the frontlines.
Destruction of our Chabhar-Armenia investment and trade route - very likely.
+ve:
Flight of Gulf money to safer haven - India - very likely
Increased sale of ammunition back to Israel and other friendly countries - likely.
Busy shipyards - maintaining US ships - likely

In 2012 Manmohan Govt was planning to secretly handover the large land area in Rann of Kutch in Gujrat.
Modi got wind of it & shot a letter to Mauni baba.
The coalition govt on the brink of scam charges developed cold feet denied & called off secret land transfer.

Robert Axelrod'sTheory of Cooperation shows tit for tat brings about cooperation.* Muslims were confident Modiji would keep giving them largesse, and they voted for the Opposition.
Now Opposition is being destroyed and largesse is going to be stopped.
* Random tit-for-tat brings it about faster. Modiji has done it unexpectedly.

Re: Indian Interests_2
ToG, you asked me about Modiji using a random tit-for-tat strategy.
We think it's a three-person game between BJP, Muslims, and Congress.
BJP would give benefits, and Muslims take the benefits and support Congress. Congress would make even more appeasement.
In reality, it's a two-person game since 2014, between BJP and Muslims. Muslim support to Congress was the contention. IOW Congress is not a national player after losing power. It's a recipient of Muslim support against the BJP.
Modiji, for ten years, tried Sama, dhana, and bhed to gain Muslim support. For their part, Muslims figured they could continue their play in this game.
This election, Modiji, has gone on the offensive and is making it clear he will repay in kind. This is an unexpected move for Muslims in India, Pakistan, and US supporters.
At the same time, the BJP is working hard to decimate Congress in Lok Sabha, so it's not worthy of support.
Ab tera khya hoga Kaalia?
This is my reading.

Olacabs Co-Founder & CEO Bhavish Aggarwal In conversation with Rajiv Malhotra
Rajiv talks about Indian industrialists who fund Harvard, Stanford, etc whose profs teach anti India themes and trash India's heritage. This includes a long list - Narayan Murthy of Infosys, Ambani, Tatas, Piramal, Mahindra, etc. They are doing it for PR but it spites their own heritage and is completely moronic.
It is refreshing to hear Bhavish Aggarwal who believes in India. He is an IITian from IIT Mumbai. Today many IITians are staying put in India than running away to the US. Ola is spearheading electric vehicles in India.
The conversation is getting to certain issues that people in tech are very uncomfortable discussing. Rajiv M feels the new East India company is the US Tech Platform companies who are binding the rest of the world with licensee of their platforms. We saw how the SWIFT network in the banking sector was used against Russia. Companies like facebook, google, Microsoft and others are trapping others into their backbone systems. India should be very leery of them. Control over data is the next battle front - Control and management of data and its usage is at stake.
Indians are working for multi-nationals as paid laborers, it is time to transition to creating your own products and brands. There is some momentum in start ups but they are funded by foreigners. The Indian society needs to double down on creating its own IP, products, services and create a true knowledge society (like India was in ancient times).
Rajiv Malhotra is talking about Sanskrit large language model for AI. He says that text is not the main thing, it is pronounciation of syllable mantra style as the main token. This is huge and shift in paradigm, a next generation AI. All the orginal sanskrit texts have been stolen by the Brits and housed in German/UK/US/Dutch universities.

Link below mentions the case of a journalist who was deported from India after misunderstanding OCI rules. Reading the chronology, it appears the OCI card was obtained by the journalist when a minor.
Think it would be good to require a 1 time re-application for OCI when someone turns 18 to make sure the individual has had a chance to decide for themselves if they are comfortable with the limitations therein.

Re: Indian Interests_2
So I want to outline what our strategy should be, and ask for your comments:
Protect our yard against external hegemons like Regional Hegemon China and Global Hegemon US.
Defend our region against Regional Hegemon China: requires our cooperation with US
Pursue Multi-polarity by opposing Global Hegemon US outside of our region: means that outside of our region we should cooperate with China against USA, especially in USA's backyard
---
US is Current Global Hegemon, and China is Regional Hegemon but is also Aspiring Global Hegemon
Best to steer Aspiring Global Hegemon and Current Reigning Global Hegemon into conflict with each other.
That would mean they have less attention and resources to focus against us, and we'd also gain leverage for ourselves.

Re: Indian Interests_2
Neat logical summary. Unclear why it is India + China Vs US in the US Backyard. What is the objective that India has in the US backyard?
Re: Indian Interests_2
Ramsuresh/ sanman garu - if I have to guess the "India+China VsUS" in the US backyard - that would be pressuring Canada
While China is busy trying to use NAFTA and such instruments to increase its economic heft
India taking the khali elements off from Canada.

Re: Indian Interests_2
India's objective should be to bring China into conflict with US. A quick way to do that is to help China is to establish itself in USA's backyard.
We saw what happened when Soviet missiles showed up in Cuba. It triggered a sharp reaction from the US, and sharp US-Soviet confrontation (which China used as an opportunity to attack us)
I'm not saying we need to be in USA's backyard. That would be punching above our weight. But we need China to be in USA's backyard, triggering US apprehensions.
So when I say "India+China vs US in US Backyard" I should have put India in round brackets, to mean that India would be indirectly helping China against US, instead of overtly.
After all, US didn't overtly invade Bangladesh -- instead they acted indirectly/covertly to back others for Bangla regime change, and probably enlisted their buddy Pak to have them act in Bangla on their behalf. US doesn't want to get its hands dirty by directly murdering Hindus in Bangla or Kashmir, they'll just let other proxies do it to pressure India, and claim clean hands for themselves.
India seeks multi-polar world. US counter-strategy seeks multi-polar India (aka. Divide-&-Rule)
So while we can't punch above our weight and directly confront US in their own backyard, we can indirectly create opportunities for China-US conflict, whether in US Backyard or elsewhere. The more US-China conflict there is, the more leverage we get out of this. And the less attention they can both pay to screwing us.
It's better for us to steer US & China into conflict - especially in USA's backyard (Latin America & South Pacific)
WE'RE ALWAYS CALLED A SWING STATE - SO IT'S TIME TO COME OUT SWINGING.
BEST DEFENSE IS A GOOD OFFENSE.
Btw, what's happening with those GEF414 engines? What's happening with Apache helicopters? I don't trust these delays, the timing seems too conspicuous. We need more leverage.

@ 2:00 - "Don't rely on general purpose chips" - I agree, and feel ASICs (Application Specific Integrated Circuits) are the future, with their specialized capabilities. They can even do AI faster than and more efficiently than GPUs can. Regarding why the most high-end military-grade chips are not made from silicon, this is due to their bandgap properties which are superior to silicon. I'm surprised the general doesn't understand that.

In exclusive interview, one of the American Right's most consequential figures lays out how to take the “conservative movement to the next level"
Some thing that we need nto study. Conservative plan to build eco-system like Left (this guy is RW Soros/Omidyar foundations
What would it take to build like this in India ...Part of the Left’s strategy has been to build different kinds of layered institutions and structures, Leo explained to The Daily Wire. First, they developed ideas and philosophies to educate societal influencers and coming generations of academics and professionals. Then they created institutions that could mobilize the people behind those ideas, and created networks that could generate calls to action, protests, and philanthropy.
“They’ve mobilized people,” Leo said. “They’ve created infrastructure to get the word out, to train people to be leaders, and for those leaders then to have the resources they need to create communities of people who will go out and do everything from protesting and demonstrating, to writing in the popular press, influencing the entertainment industry, putting pressure on academic institutions, sometimes even litigating, and sometimes working in various international organizations like the United Nations to effect change.”
Leo’s letter to grant recipients describes how activists on the Left have created “large funding engines,” both 501(c)(4) as well as 501(c)(3), that push litigation, launch aggressive campaigns, and build extensive networks and talent pipelines. Two of the most prominent leftist funding engines are the “constellation of groups” run by the influential left-wing consulting organizations Arabella Advisors and Tides Network Foundation, which spend over $1 billion a year furthering leftist goals.

Sorry, the below given data must have been posted in the forum. Also one thing that many would find interesting is that as per Suraj over a decade (or decades?) before independence in 1947 British foresaw it and started to prepare by hurriedly sending goods and other useful things to Britain.

Not Gandhi, not non violence, but it was the Naval Mutiny of 1946 that made the British pack up and leave India.
Sanjeev Sanyal: "When the sailors mutinied and took control of 78 Indian Navy ships, the British ordered the Maratha Regiment to fire at them, but they saw that the Maratha soldiers were firing without pointing. The British realised the entire Indian military was about to revolt. They knew they had to quit."
