The SC has already put the new laws in abeyance for 18 months. And it is becoming obvious that the current agitations are just attempts to create L&O problems citing the problems of 'farmers'. And now I am pretty sure that Central Govt will NEVER repeal the laws, as doing that would be political suicide for BJP (and Na.Mo, A.Shah etc.). Perhaps they also know the true nature of these agitations and the actual impact on the ground. Many of us (at least for me) relies heavily on main stream media who are also making 'larger than life' portrayal of this 'farmer broker gang protest'.
Ambar wrote:The middlemen terrorists have given call to another nationwide bandh.
Which like the earlier one would be another damp squib and found effective only in few pockets where the farmer broker terrorists have some say. And you can see attempts like the one seen in Bengaluru, where the organizer "said farmers will *also protest against new farm laws*. Which means these folks know that nothing much can be done against the farm laws, but they just ride to piggy back on the protests of the farmer broker terrorists.

Mean while Hon.SC has been off late asking too many questions to the farmer broker terrorists.
What are you protesting for? Supreme Court asks farmers’ body

Communists are strong in some districts of Punjab. It is the commies who have mobilized these farmers to come to Delhi, in keeping with the old communist strategy of mobilizing peasants from the countryside to lay siege to the cities. That is why most of these "farmers" carry red flags when they march. Congress relies on communists to provide foot soldiers to disrupt any part of the country ruled by BJP. There is a wink-wink relationship between Congress and communists. BJP needs to get enough numbers in Rajya Sabha and pass a bill to ban communists in the country. These people are here only to create trouble.

The market can remain irrational for far longer than mere individuals can remain solvent.

Similarly, as long as moolah flows in, any agitation however irrational can be sustained indefinitely. Only. Or so I fear.

Looks like there has been some quick action from UP government.
Lakhimpur Kheri incident: UP govt announces Rs 45 lakh ex-gratia, govt job for kin of dead farmers.
And yes, if this picture is indeed from the Lakhimpur area then assessment from members of this forum is spot on. The area does have a sizeable presence from the Sikh community.

their first target is the UP elections for which they all are hatching plans to wrest it from the BJP and basically keep yogi out of the CM's chair.

If yogi gets a second term, he will decimate the rest of the state mafia and obliterate the opposition. When yogi is doing so well, I fail to see where this useless caste equation that is being bandied about is leading to and the so called anger of the brahmins, is it really going to make such a difference to the electoral prospects of the BJP in UP.

If BJP wins here, then 2023 is a good bet for Modi to return as PM once again

The funding that is keeping the farmers going is from the same jehadi and khalistani/ISI sources and the expenses are quite heavy because they have to accommodate, feed, fuel and liquor up a huge number of orgasmic freeloaders out for a jolly picnic.

the arthiyas alone could not have funded this jamboree because they need to fund the coming elections in punjab as well.

amarinder has left the congis, taking large funds with him for sure. the mafia uses other people's money and so will not touch their own funds, in case they are turfed out by circumstances that they themselves are creating because pappu and pappi are like the two stooges, You will have to guess who the third stooge is.

The G-23 see their clout drying up, their borrowed peacock feathers are fading and their rajya easy sabha seats are evaporating right in front of their eyes.

No other party will touch them, even with a very long barge pole.

If it is the genuine 'farmers' (who actually work in the fields) who are protesting how come the agriculture industry has not taken a hit? :). To be frank, there has not even been a single food item/vegetable which has got reduced from my grocery list for the last one year. Every thing is available. The commies would be orchestrating this, but looks like it is the rich landlords/brokers who are acting as 'farmers'. Just like how commies try to prove that they are 'people's leaders' etc.

As the saying in Malayalam goes - "why burn down your house to kill a rat?". Just look at the number of MPs the commies have in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. They have been sidelined from the national politics in India. They are traitors and trouble makers, but they can be curtailed by going after ther financiers and some leaders.

aren't they much less than that in India and yet see how much of chaos they have created over the past year in this farmer's agitation

Lakhimpur Kheri is part of UP’s ‘Mini Punjab’ where Khalistani terrorists flourished during Punjab insurgency: All you need to know

4 October, 2021
OpIndia Staff

During the Khalistan insurgency, the Mini Punjab of Uttar Pradesh used to be a safe haven for Khalistani outfits. They flourished for decades in UP but went into hibernation following the crackdown in the 1990s. Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) was one of the most active outfits in the region during the insurgency.

Apart from Lakhimpur Kheri, the regions that were part of Mini Punjab were Pilibhit and Shahjahanpur of Uttar Pradesh and Uddham Singh Nagar district which is now a part of Uttarakhand.

During the 90s, agencies had arrested 12 individuals linked to BKI. They were lodged in Shahjahanpur district jail. After they were released, some of them stayed back while others shifted to Lakhimpur Kheri and Pilibhit. Some of them migrated to Punjab.

Who are the Sikhs living in Western UP?
When the partition happened in 1947, several Sikh families who came from Pakistan were settled in Uttar Pradesh. The majority of these families got settled in Lakhimpur Kheri, Pilibhit, Rampur, Sitapur and Bijnor districts. A couple of small villages comprised of Sikh families only. The land originally belonged to a local King, Raja Vikram Shah. When Sikhs came to UP after the partition, he gave up the land and donated it to the Sikhs.

Lakhimpur Kheri emerged during 2017 raids
In October 2017, Punjab Police and Uttar Pradesh Anti Terrorist Squad arrested several operatives and sympathizers of BKI. At that time, agencies said that these operatives and sympathizers had gone into hibernations following the crackdown on BKI in the 1990s. However, BKI’s name became prominent during Nabha Jailbreak in Punjab.

During the investigation, agencies traced the whole incident to the Terai region of Uttar Pradesh that included districts like Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, Lakhimpur Kheri and other regions in close proximity to the Nepal border.

Intelligence agencies alerted that an extensive network of BKI was operating in the regions of western UP. Notably, the region has several tehsils and hamlets where Sikhs form a significant chunk of the population. Around the time raids were conducted, two of the 12 individuals who were under the watch of intelligence agencies disappeared. The agencies at that time noted that they might have been involved in expanding the BKI network in the region.

Two individuals linked to Lakhimpur Kheri who were nabbed by UP ATS and Punjab Police were identified as Jitendra Singh Toni and Satnam Singh. Jitender was wanted in the Nabha jailbreak case of November 2016. He was accused of supplying arms. He was arrested in Mailani, Lakhimpur Kheri, UP. Satnam Singh was resident of Sikandarpur, Lakhimpur Kheri. He was named by a BKI operative who was arrested in August 2017 from Lucknow.

Khalistani sympathizers activated during 2020 referendum
When Khalistani terrorist organization Sikhs For Justice announced the 2020 referendum, Khalistani sympathizers living in the mini Punjab region were activated. There were several reports of arrests of such individuals from the area. In September 2018, Udham Singh Nagar police had arrested two young Sikh individuals identified as Kulwinder Singh and Harjeet Singh, who had been publishing pro-Khalistani posts on social media. They also created a WhatsApp group named 20-20 Khalistan Referendum.

Sikh Man is seen with Bindranwale t-shirt during farmer protests in Lakhimpur Kheri
On October 3, alleged farmer protesters attacked the BJP convoy and pelted stones at them. The clash resulted in the death of eight people, including four protestors, three BJP workers and a driver who was part of the BJP convoy. While the protesting farmers made allegations that the son of the State Home Minister was driving the car that met with an accident leading to the death of the protestors, reports emerged that he was not even present at the scene at the time of the incident.

Is that Bhindranwale on this person’s t shirt ?

If yes then UP police should better know what these people are up to & what treatment they need.@Uppolice @myogiadityanath @myogioffice pic.twitter.com/DRLqMLsRrp

— News Ganga (@news_ganga) October 4, 2021

While a violent mob was attacking BJP workers with batons and calling for their death, an individual was allegedly seen wearing a Bhindranwale t-shirt in some images. The presence of Khalistani supporters raised many questions on the movement, and questions were raised if it was pre-planned violence.

Isint it the same with Kerala also? I think we need more rule like the Andhra 75 percent jobs for local populace. Hyd, Bangalore and Mumbai need to enact this.
I agree with the problem, but disagree with the solution. There are other ways of achieving this without installing firewalls within India.

A smarter way is to hit where it hurts - money. All freebies dry up without someone else's money. So, you need to create incentives for govts to create jobs. Like assign a portion of direct tax of the individual (and maybe companies) to the state where the person works (think SGST for direct tax !). And decrease the overall transfer to the states. So, if you are from Bengal working in BLR, then a portion of money goes to KAR instead of WB.

Varun Gandhi is the Raj Thackeray of the Gandhi parivar, he could have rode on his lastname to great heights especially given how low the bar is for members of the Gandhi-Maino family to make it big in politics but yet he is reduced making headline grabbing comments once every 6 months . In some ways he is a lot like his mother, could have been the matriarch of the family after Indira but instead decided to spend her political capital on protesting against diwali crackers. If a miracle ever happens and a new Congress party is formed without the mainos then I fully expect Varun Gandhi and his mother will be the first ones to join. Btw, this isn't the first time Varun Gandhi has gone against his party, him and his mother thought they can be the Sonia-Rahul in BJP after LK Advani but NaMo and Amit Shah spoilt those plans in 2014.

sirji,

He has his ear to the ground and also good PR in his constituency.

He is the only MP who has never taken his salary from parliament. Each month the parliament secretariat gets an advisory from this guy as to whom his salary is to be sent to because he donates it to those people who are identified as being the most in need of help

His problem is way too much ambition, way too early and a domineering mother who thinks that her husband's family entitlements still count for something.

a while back, mother and son made it very clear that the son was ready to be installed as the UP CM and they made a very ill advised and public attempt that pissed off the BJP top brass, hence the वनवास.

he may have some support from among the voters but no UP BJP or other leader will give the snooty mother or the son even the time of day

both are woke and entitled and one thinks only of past glory and her hep page three NGO crowd while the other spouts very mediocre poetry and has intellectual pretensions.

the BJP is/was always wary because of the ghandhy family connections and the possibility of defection to the congi fold. while dilli mama mia stays clear of mama, the son is friendly with the mafia family.

the BJP, at one time thought that they needed a token ghandhy to counter the mafia famiglia but not anymore.

his aunt (mama's sister) was married to the great man lt col ajay shooklaw, since divorced and shooklaw has moved on to number two

The BJP may not spare two lok sabha seats on these two the next time around, so they may be in the hunt for greener pastures

don't know about the son, but mama could win maybe as an independent too.

They have both nurtured their constituencies and mama had even given up her old sure shot constituency to her son and moved on to another seat

they did not rise because they were simply too ambitious, perhaps forgetting their one and true role in the BJP was to cut the mafia famiglia to size if the need arose, sort of like the BJP saying that we too have a ghandhy with us and this one has all Indian blood.

plus, very autocratic mama had problems with a lot of babooze in her ministry and that set the tone for her sidelining in Modi -2.

this ghandhy never had a future with the BJP and probably never will. If he behaves himself, he will keep getting a ticket and not much more. Moreover, he has never said anything against the mafia famiglia ever, so that does not inspire trust.

Anyways Yogi Baba played masterstroke. Allowed only Dakait to go on the spot - would have got a backroom deal that Dakait will help pacify in return for being the only 'Kisan leader' standing with the farmer. UP opposition will now stay away from Dakait and message to common man is that this entire drama is continuation of Republic Day Khalistani gang anarchy and not genuine political. Ek teer ... The lynching of the BJP workers by the Bhindranwale t-shirt wearing crowd needs to be played again and again in UP and HR. People need to realize who are the key players behind this year long agitation and what exactly is it they are protesting against when the laws are on stay ? While the role of INC, AAP and various commie parties is well known as is the involvement of Pakistanis and Sikh radicals, I wouldn't be too surprised if China is pumping money into these agitations too in a big way. There is precedent for this - in the Soviet Union days KGB was routinely financing communist labor unions in many factories in India resulting in sometimes months and years long strikes. If there's one guy whom i'd like to see pay for his sins someday is Rakesh Tikait. His smug face, his arrogance, his repeated calls for violence and his provoking to conduct violence , had he done this in China they would have thrown him and his extended family to a gulag in inner Mongolia but in India this 100 cr+ asset owning gangster is allowed to roam free and do more violence against the state.

Iron fist ? They just let Param Bir Singh walk out of the country making total clowns out of our agencies. Nirav Modi and Mallya are still attending cocktail parties in London while showing a big middle finger to GoI . Forget about the rich and the powerful, even the sadak chaap jihadis and commies from AMU/JNU/DU who rioted in Delhi are all out of bail.

I think it safe to assume that 'iron fist' is rather an impossible task for this government. There are courts, and then there's tons of NGOs filing PILs from their Western maai-baaps giving it hard time to GoI. Under the current democratic setup, its next to impossible to do iron fist. Something else yes. Drying up funding is one.

I sadly agree.

Had great hopes from NIA and all swooping in and cutting out venal state pulis farces and their state-level lowlife neta puppeteers as well as the 'regular' courts system (NIA courts are there). And what have we to show for it thus far - whether in MH or in WB? Their successes (esp against jihardon networks in KL) are under wraps and the lack of progress on big cases drains their street cred. They'll soon become another PJ like CBI, I predict.

Choking funding has also produced mixed results (if any) thus far. Way too many ways to launder and traffic money anywhere from anywhere aajkal. I'd rather GoI regulate and tax bookmaking on sports and cannabis (for medical and maybe even recreational purposes) to cut illegal funding sources of many BIF networks while improving the legit tax kitty.

Only.

Paddy procurement has started which means that real farmers are very busy with protecting, harvesting, packing and transporting the paddy crop to various markets.

The fake commie farmers are still sitting on roads blocking., any normal country would have arrested them for blocking roads. Blocking roads/rails/waterways/airways for protests should be declared as criminal offense.

On the Lakhimpur Kheri riots there is at least one picture of a Sikh man talking to a police official (who seems to be speaking on phone). And the picture of the 'farmer' on his T-Shirt reveals the true nature of the rioters. The 'farmer' is none other than Jarnail Singh Bindranwale. Notice the picture 4/12 in the Times of India news report.
Ambar wrote:The lynching of the BJP workers by the Bhindranwale t-shirt wearing crowd needs to be played again and again in UP and HR.
And I see that already happening on social media, that too by BJP supporters in the southern states. So it is natural that it would now get more coverage in the northern states. The fact that the riots died down within a day also gives me a feeling that even the riot mongers realise that they have been exposed. The media too tried to tone down their reporting by end of the day yesterday. The main stream media will spin a story that UP Govt has agreed with the 'farmer broker/rioters' demands, but for sure there would be lot of behind the scene activities which also would be going on.
Larry Walker wrote:Anyways Yogi Baba played masterstroke. Allowed only Dakait to go on the spot - would have got a backroom deal that Dakait will help pacify in return for being the only 'Kisan leader' standing with the farmer.
When things come under control next course of action is to trap Dakait as well by showing him as a Khalistani agent. The recent statements by Hon S.C also gives me an impression that the farmer brokers are going to get a rude awakening sooner or later.

There are videos of the BJP leader's driver, injured who says that he lost control of the vehicle after hit by a stone. He was subsequently lynched by the farmer brokers-rioters. Hope UP government considers his family also for compensation,ex-gratia payments etc. By the way the twitter user also has written his name in Urdu/Arabic. So could be a peacefool person who suddenly became a fan-boy of the farmer brokers-rioters.

There is a longer version of the video I posted( from a randomly chosen channel). Its a bit more traumatic and hence I did not post the full video. The longer one can easily be found on twitter.
At the point where this video ends the Thar is followed by a Fortuner which runs over people already on the ground followed by a white scorpio which does so the third time over the same set of people on the ground.

While the Thar driver may unfortunately have been the lynched person, the videos do not indicate he had lost control at any point.

At this point in time I don't care one bit for the so called farmers agitation.

My only regret is that, inspite of the opposition claiming that Modi is a fascist. He is actually not one.

Cause I want these people to experience fascism in person.

That is the only cure for some people and their apologists.

Fact free activism has to come with a price.

Man Singh,

Do you think that people when confronted by angry weapons wielding people. Who have occupied the road and made an escape difficult.

Such people will not try and save own lives by any means necessary. When they have vehicles, they will drive through the crowd.

Regardless of what anyone thinks they should have done.

This is a logical outcome of fact free agitation and opposition.

It's on the opposition and the "farmers".

Mansingh'ji, are you justifying the murder (lynching) by the khalistani bhindranwale supporting terrorists masquerading as farmers? While you are at it, can you please justify the bombing of Kanishka?

At this point, the full responsibility of violence lies with the so-called farmer protestors.

People like Man Singh are the ones who justify murder of RSS/ BJP members in opposition ruled states.

I remember last year he was on full flow with fact free posts in opposition to the farm laws.

Modi derangement syndrome.

What next, killings of ordinary Hindu's for the sins of Modi?

Oh wait we have already seen that in Punjab once before.

We will see that again in the next few years. It will end in exactly the same way. With a thousand dead in a decade.

Unfortunately people driving this movement will escape all consequences.

They are baying for a reaction from the Government, and it is time Government give it to them to establish L&O.

If god forbid a non-BJP govt comes into power next, mark my words, iron fists and iron boots will be in full display with the same setup putting tail between its legs.

I won't be surprised if it will come to that.. But if it does, India will need someone like Yogi ji at the helm.

"Will Shake Anyone's Soul": BJP's Varun Gandhi On Viral Video From UP
'Once a Ghandy..always a Ghandy..'; seems to be the case here. Varun Ghandy is not making any positive contributions to BJP by making such noises. He seems to be using this event to push some of his nefarious agendas. Don't know what BJP sees in him (and his mother) to allow them remain inside the party.

You are wasting your time with the likes of Man Singh.

He is beyond any reason and logic.

He belongs to the catagory of people who are so blinded by hate that it's ok for people they oppose to be hanged from lamp posts. Or blown up using country bombs.

He will provide intellectual cover to the murderers.

he is preparing the grounds for an exit, he knows that the BJP is a dead end for him and his unrequited high ambitions.

the guy is long on rhetoric and short on delivery, whereas the BJP needs the opposite kind
