I am a noob to the world of Computer Games, but I see a great opportunity to bring our Ramayana and Mahabharata into this, to influence our little ones.
Hope someone competent is working on it.
*Me after watching a new game "Black Myth Wukong" and thinking Ramayana is so much better to base a story on!

India finishes Paris Paralympics with 29 medals (7 golds) - its highest ever medal tally at these games. India breaks into the top 20. The Paralympics contingent has over delivered while the Olympics contingent has under delivered. We have significantly improved at the Commonwealth Games, Asian Games, Parasian Games and Paralympic games but not yet in Olympics. It means the steps taken over the last 10 years to improve sports in India have started showing results. One severe limitation is that we are limited to a few sports only. Need to broaden and deepen the base. Unless we do that our medal count will be limited.

We will likely play Uzbekistan, our nemesis last time, tomorrow in round 9. They are a tenacious bunch led by Abdusattarov. We will likely play USA, the top ranked team, in round 10. Our round 11 team will likely be lesser ranked, but there are no easy matches at this level. We are 8/8 with a clear two point lead over others, 3 more rounds to go. Not going to be easy.

Phew, we secured a draw against the wily ba$tard$ after some really tough fought games. We are still leading the table with 17 points with 3 teams on 15. We will likely play USA tomorrow, the number one ranked team and currently on 15. A win will most likely secure the gold. Even a draw will improve our chances of getting a gold as we have already played the toughest teams based on ranking, but there are no easy teams at this level.

(Only China can still catch India on 19 points .. if India lose and China win tomorrow, when it would come down to tiebreaks!)

India completed the formalities to win the open gold. This win is important not just for the gold but India needed to exorcise the ghosts of 2022, both for the team and especially Gukesh. I am sure, he will feel a heavy weight lifted off his chest.

Great performance from both teams to close out the golds they were on track for. Winning their last pairings 3.5-0.5 is a strong finish. The men won by a colossal 4 point margin ultimately, with a near perfect 21 points from 11 rounds.

For at least the men's side, the story has only begun. We have three players under 25 who all have ratings of 2750ish or higher. They need to establish a USSR-like dynasty, trying to win every one of the next 5-6 Olympiads. It would be good to see the Russians back next time and for us to prevail over them so there's no question as to who is best.

Liveratings shows Arjun at 2797 and Gukesh at a mere 2794 rating. Arjun had a tournament rating performance of a comically absurd 3350 or something after the penultimate round. Is that the greatest ever rating performance in an Olympiad ?

Divya Deshmukh - the youngest member and the 2024 junior world champion - was our star in the women's section. I hope she goes on to do what Humpy could not and win the senior world title from the Chinese.

In addition to both titles we won board golds for board 1 (Gukesh) and 3 (Arjun) in the open category, and boards 3 (Divya) and 4 (Vantika Agrawal) in womens. And of course the Gaprindashvili Cup for the 2nd edition running.

Thanks. The next ratings should have Arjun and Gukesh in the top 5, both over 2790. Scary.

Gukesh plays Ding Liren for the world title later this year. If he wins, he will be the youngest ever world champion - still 18, overtaking Kasparov's title at the age of 22.

Between Pragg and Vaishali this is the first ever brother and sister Olympiad win. They're already the first such siblings to both become GM and enter the Candidates series.

On Twitter there were some nice posts about Harikrishna and Harika - once child prodigies themselves but now senior members, who led India thru many fruitless Olympiad campaigns and came back without a strong enough team around them. Harika had the heartbreak of Chennai 2022 which she competed while 9 months pregnant, getting her first medal there.

Now both have the pleasure of being on all powerful teams and winning golds. Between Gukesh and Divya we have potential new men’s and women’s world champions on our hands.

Twitter are asserting Gukeshs 9/10 on board 1 with 3056 RP is the single best board performance in an Olympiad.
