Delhi: 4 Arabs held on charge of molestation; released due to diplomatic immunity
In her statement to the police, the victim said the men tried to molest her and harassed her.
Four Arabs were arrested on charge of trying to molest an employee of a five-star hotel from the national capital 's Connaught Place area on Monday night.
The four men - two from the Libyan embassy and one each from Yemeni and Algerian embassies - were apprehended by the police following a woman 's complaint. However, when the police later found that some of the accused enjoyed diplomatic immunity, they were released from the police station.
According to police sources, the Algerian and the Yemeni nationals had diplomatic immunity, while the two Libyans were released on bail even as they were not diplomats.
As per the complainant, the men were travelling in a Yemeni embassy car when they passed lewd comments on her at the bustling Janpath market and made obscene gestures . The incident took place around 8 pm.
In her statement to the police, the victim said the men tried to molest her and harassed her. The police have registered a case under Sections 506 (criminal intimidation), 509 (outraging the modesty of a woman) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Re: Internal Security Watch
In TN, to avoid this immunity, "connected" crap, the police have devised a good plan in case of eve teasing/molestation etc. As soon as they catch the criminals they will close the door of the van and treat them properly, even before asking their name. This way, even if the culprit is connected to big wigs, the cops would have done the deed before the name comes up. Doesn't work in all the cases, but is pretty effective in many cases. I hope the police managed treat the diplomats properly, in this case as well.

Police trained their guns on us, say Dhule victims
An eyewitness, Abdul Rehman Shaikh, said: “The others were using stones. The police used bullets. Is that fair?”

Oh..yeah. Now this rioting is a sport, where every one plays by rules. The rioters if they use bare hands, police also should use bare hands. If they use sticks, police can use the lathis. This (and the reporting) can only happen in India.
Maharashtra ADGP denies allegations
Maharashtra Additional Director-General of Police Javed Ahmed refuted allegations that Muslims were targeted in the police action that followed violence in Dhule on Sunday.
Five people were killed and more than 100 injured in the incident.
“The fact that a large number of police were injured tells its own story. This has never happened before,” Mr. Ahmed told a press conference here.

BTW, thanks to these reports, the old silly game members of one community attacked another community would not work. The riot mongering community has clearly been identified.

So, let us be aware of these restrictions. Now that the flood gates are being opened by this dimwit GoI, at least we can do our duty by informing the police if we find any Pakistani staying in these states. The Pakistani nationals would not also be allowed to stay in Kerala, Jammu & Kashmir {apart from Punjab}, restricted and prohibited areas (that include parts of Rajasthan, Manipur, Sikkim, Uttaranchal, Nagaland, Himachal Pradesh and others).

2. The name "Commie Heaven state" came in here because of some previous incidents. There has been cases of numerous folks from Kerala (mainy Muslims) who were in Pakistan, when the partition happened. They could not realise the impact and many stay put there, because of the business interests. At a later point in life they decide to come back to their home state, when they realise that they are now citizens of another (hostile) country. Some of them managed to stay on extended VISAs, with regular visits required to the police station. Guess the idea is that, now onwards no such person should now try to come back to India.
There was a movie Paradesi in Malayalam, which shows the life of one such person. It was based on an old man, who actually faced the situation. There was a sympathy wave for such folks, but I dont see any reports on it now.
NOTE: To be honest, with the communal mess which is happening in Kerala, this is a welcome move. No Paki (old, or young) need to come here to increase the trouble.

Why we are likely to hear more Owaisi-type hate speeches
The Akbaruddin Owaisi “hate speech” of 24 December 2012 is not what everyone thinks it is. Despite the incendiary nature of the speech, the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) leader’s poison tongue should be seen for what it is: an attempt to cock a snook at so-called secular parties. Muslims are keen to move away from the umbrella provided by these parties. Parties such as the Congress and Samajwadi are thus being put on notice.
While Owaisi will get his brief time in jail, it is unlikely to achieve anything more than increase his attraction to his Muslim constituency. And the real message is here.
For some time now Muslims have been the only constituency treated as a vote-bank without their own direct share of power (except in Kerala and Kashmir). Every caste, every group and every community has had the advantage of being represented by one of their own in India’s raucous democracy, but Muslims have had to seek compromise under secular umbrellas – often under the Congress and various regional parties in the states.
Owaisi’s rabble-rousing speech should thus be seen as another attempt to separate the Muslim vote bank from secular parties – and this trend can only accelerate over the coming years.
At the national level, the Welfare Party of India — started two years ago — is said to have the blessings of the Jamait e-Islami-e-Hind (JIH), though the latter denies it. The party is yet to make its mark electorally, but it is busy opening chapters in various states. Its Maharashtra chapter is to start this April. The Jamait is to Muslims like what the RSS is to Hindus.
In the Jangipur Lok Sabha byelection last October, where Pranab Mukherjee’s son Abhijit (now infamous for his “dented, painted” quote) came close to losing the election as the Welfare Party managed to take away a chunk of Muslim votes that the Congress normally takes for granted.
^^ Is it possible PAKI DOGS have started escalation and synchronized their action with Owaisi. But as they fight for their own votes to establish primacy in their own regions, India’s fledgling Muslim parties could get shriller in order to tell Muslims that they can do represent them better than the rest.
Owaisi’s hate speech is unlikely to be the last as Muslim parties compete to establish some degree of ascendency over the rest. The Congress has to be most scared of this development.
This way, Owaisi may be blackmailing CON MAFIA and crooks like Nitish/Mulyam to appease PAKIS more.

Assam's displaced Muslims: The NOWHERE people
Assam's displaced Muslims: The NOWHERE people
Post violence, the Assam government is in a catch-22 situation on where to rehabilitate over 13,000 Muslims who have been found without land documents in Kokrajhar and Chirang districts.
During scrutiny of over 24,000 and 8,000 applications filed for rehabilitation by the displaced Muslims in Kokrajhar and Chirang respectively, the administration found that 7,000 and 6,000 people had no land documents.
The local Bodo People's Front government which governs four districts of Bodoland Territory Area Districts (Udalgiri and Bakas being the other two districts) has opposed the rehabilitation of these people.
"These people shouldn't be brought at any cost. The Group of Ministers (GoM – formed by the Assam government to decide on relief and rehabilitation for the displaced), said only people with land documents will be rehabilitated. We want the government to clear our forest land," thunders Kampa Borgoyari, deputy chief of the Bodoland Territorial Council government.
Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi told this correspondent that the displaced Muslims not having land documents would be settled in BTAD only. "The EC has included them in the voter list. They are Indian citizens," he claimed on a recent visit to Delhi.
Of course, a secular govt is ruling and so these sort of "minor" riots where 48 lakh are in refugee camps can be swept aside ( anyways even OB vans cannot reach there and so DDM are justified in ignoring it)During the riots, over 250 villages were ravaged with the mobs torching houses after looting valuables and cattle. Initially over 4.8 million people reported in the relief camps.Close to 4.5 million returned after a while leaving 32,000 people in the camps.

Tension in old Lucknow following Shia-Sunni clash
Tension in old Lucknow following Shia-Sunni clash
Lucknow: Tension gripped old city areas of Lucknow following stone pelting incident between two sects—Shias and Sunnis of Mulsims on Friday. Heavy police force has been deputed to control the situation.
Presently, there is an uneasy calm with police patrolling the area. The incident occurred near Tudiyaganj locality on Saturday. On the occasion of 28th Safar, the Shias commemorate it as the martyrdom of Imam Hasan. Due to it the taziyas which are kept at houses by the devotees are taken for burial in Karabala. Usually, it is done at Puttan Shah Karbala. No procession is however allowed for this.
As it happened, a group of Shias were going with their taziyas for burial performing matam. It was objected by another group. The verbal duel followed soon stone pelting started. People rushed for safety while the shops downed their shutter. Police rushed to the scene.
There were reports of firing in the air but it could not be confirmed. Later, Shia cleric Yasoob Abbas reached Nakhas crossing. Here one Haji Sweet Shop was damaged. Shia clerics reached Nakhas police station and lodged an FIR in the case.
The tension has once again broken the uneasy peace between the two communities in old city. Apprehensive about any untoward incident, people remained indoors.

Think through folks, any strong action against Hyd MIM will be real suicidal for INC. If you know how to open the riddle it is as good as opening the locks of Ayodhya temple. So no action will be take. In addition those who are dreaming that HYD to be made as Union Terriotary or Telangana forming without endorsement from MIM is also equivalant to opening the locks of Ayodhya temple.

Re: Internal Security Watch
I think the mofukir Owaisi has made it clear in the interview posted above that it was a deliberate ploy to create a high profile case and barge into public conscience. There is no other way to extend their influence beyond the god forsaken old city of Hyd. The court case will play directly into their strategy to keep the issue simmering at high profile level while they slowly shift the case from waging war against India to being victim, which they intend to leverage and consolidate the vote-bank. We will also meanwhile (probably) get to see how the courts mutilate the laws and constitution while arriving at the judgement which will be either in favor of these mofos or will be a gentle slap on the wrist. Mega publicity will be bonus at the cost of the nation. Great!!!
The second thing that is very clear (although one needs to read between) is that the permission/trigger itself at worst or the tacit approval at best came from congress high command in Delhi. Screwing local government is fair game to appear balanced but he clearly pays obeisance to Sonia.
If one wants to refresh their memory on how congress plays dirty politics dividing the nation along communal likes, this is the most recent example.
Appears the Modi ‘s Gujarat win clearly gave them up a jolt.

India denies visa to British journalist Yvonne Ridley
India has denied award-winning British journalist Yvonne Ridley a visa. She was scheduled to address the Spring of Islam conference being held in Hyderabad by the Jamaat-e-Islami Hind.
The London-based journalist, who was captured by the Taliban on an undercover assignment in Afghanistan in 2001 and converted to Islam after her release in 2003, was to address various sessions at the three-day conference, which began on Friday.
"The Indian government is refusing to give me a conference visa to address 50,000 women in Hyderabad about women's rights ... I would have thought after the catastrophic handling of the Dehli rape case, politicians would be more sensitive, but it seems not. We women continue to be sidelined and treated as second class citizens," she said in her post on Facebook.
Ridley, through video conference, addressed three sessions of girls, women and journalists.
"The Indian government knows how powerful words are. That is why I am sitting in the UK today talking to you instead of being with you to deliver this speech in person," she said, addressing the session of journalists Saturday.
Khalid Mubashir-ul-Zafar, president of Jamaat-e-Islami's Hyderabad unit, said Ridely was given all necessary clearances by the external affairs ministry, but was denied visa in the last minute because of the tense situation in Hyderabad.
There was tension in the city Friday after a group of people staged protests in the old city over the arrest of Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) leader and legislator Akbaruddin Owaisi for his alleged hate speech.
Ridley was also denied a visa when she planned a trip to Kerala in 2010 to address a Muslim women's conference organised by the Jamaat.

I agree with Satya anveshi. The best thing would have been to ignore the MIM speeches as they are irrelevant beyond the Old city ghetto. They are now unnecessarily given traction. But, because Javed is an old friend, because I respect his opinion and because I think he is exactly the kind of Muslim intellectual who can lead his co-religionists away from the Islamist nonsense that Owaisi vomited out in his speech, I am going to use Javed’s charges against me to re-examine what secularism has come to mean in an Indian context....
...On a personal note, may I suggest to my old friend, Javed Akhtar, that he try to remember the kind of Islam that existed in India in his childhood and mine before harsh winds from Saudi Arabia changed it unrecognisably.
Re: Internal Security Watch
MIM has fairly aggressive ambitions - in their success at Nanded civic polls recently, they leveraged their partnership with Gaikwad's Samvidhan party quite well, to push out the Congress from quite a few seats. The best thing would have been to ignore the MIM speeches as they are irrelevant beyond the Old city ghetto. They are now unnecessarily given traction.
MIM also has good relations with AUDF and I suspect that they will try and establish some kind of an agreement with IUML. They probably have a larger set of parties they'd like to align with, but that is not yet clear to me. MIM-AUDF-partners do not have to win too many seats to win too many seats to affect outcomes in national level decisions.
The overt Islamism by MIM will have other implications too - such as, the INC labeling almost all acts of terror in India, as being perpetrated by the Hindu right wing, as a way to mollify the appropriate vote banks.
MIM understands the sense of victimhood and the hatred of the "other" necessary to win the Muslim vote bank - and they're using it in some ways better than the INC.
Tough times ahead.

Re: Internal Security Watch
Let’s talk to Owaisi, not jail him!: Tavleen Singh
Indian Islam under threat: Tavleen Singh
WHAT has worried me most about the manner in which Akbaruddin Owaisi’s latest hate speech has been dealt with is that everyone appears to have missed the point. It is not his being jailed that matters but what he said in his speech and more than his speech what matters is the applause it evoked form his huge audience. It is the huge crowds that greeted him at Hyderabad airport when he returned from London that we need to think about and not the condemnation of his speech by Muslims of liberal bent.
Incidentally, it is intriguing that a man with such an Islamist approach to life should go to a godless, Western city like London at all but to analyze why so many dedicated Islamists flock to London for holidays and healthcare would need a separate column, so today I am going to stick to analyzing Owaisi’s speech.
‘Communal’ viewpoint
What makes the speech important is not that Owaisi made it. He is a provincial politician of no current national relevance and so many of my more ‘secular’ brethren will I am sure label me ‘communal’ for even bothering to analyze it. But, according to my ‘communal’ viewpoint what makes the speech important is that it reflects the thinking of a worryingly large number of lower middle class, semi-educated Indian Muslims. I have met them in the bazaars of Moradabad and Lucknow and in the bazaars of Delhi and Mumbai and what has annoyed me every time is their contempt for India.
This comes out in exactly the way Owaisi said it in his speech and this is what makes this speech so important. At one point in his diatribe against India and Indians, he said that those who said Muslims should go to another country did not realize that if they went they would take with them the Taj Mahal, the Red Fort and the Qutab Minar. “And, what will be left here then? A broken Ram temple in Ayodhya and some naked statues in Ajanta and Ellora.”![]()
Analyze this comment and you see what ordinary Muslims across the Indian sub-continent have long believed that there was nothing worth preserving of India’s ancient civilization. Until Islam arrived, they believe, India was a cultural and civilizational desert and if you try arguing that this is illiterate rubbish, as I often have done, then the conversation ends or the subject gets changed.
We should have been talking of these things long ago but because in the interests of ‘secularism’ the contribution of ancient India to the civilization of the world is ignored in Indian schools there are not enough Hindus who can talk about it. Muslims, on the other hand, have their history hammered into their heads from the time they are small children in the ‘madrassa’ and even at home so they have a confidence about who they are. This would be fine if it stopped there, but it is usually accompanied by contempt for India because of a deep disdain for the Hindus religion with its polytheism and its idols.
This brings us to the part of his speech for which Owaisi is now in jail. He said to cheers and derisive laughter from his audience, “They have many gods… Ram, Lakshman, Durga, Ganesha… and every month they give birth to a new one. Who is Bhagyalakshmi… but leave it, I do not want to ruin the auspicious atmosphere of this gathering by taking their abominable names.”
Then came more insults about how Hindus and their ‘sacred mother cow’ that they sell in the bazaars, and that the police permit until Muslims come forward to buy them. If Muslims did not eat beef, he added contemptuously, then the ‘mata’ of the Hindus would eat up every blade of grass in India and it would become a desert.
Analyze this part of the speech and what you find is not just scorn for India’s main religious traditions, but a hatred of them. Yet if someone like me (and I am not a Hindu) ever dares point out in my columns that there are flaws in the Islamic idea that it alone has all the religious answers or that it is hard in the 21st century to believe in prophets and revealed religions then I get labeled ‘communal’.
Instead of labeling, if we discussed the ideas of men like Akbaruddin Owaisi we would find that it would give us a chance to understand what India should stand for and stand up against.
The fundamental idea of India is that, despite being mostly Hindu in population, it stands for freedom of worship and that this necessarily entails respect for everyone’s religious ideas, no matter how stupid they may be. So although Owaisi’s speech would have been acceptable, and applauded, in Saudi Arabia it has no place in India. It is unfortunate that because of a dominance of leftists and liberals in India’s intellectual space these things are not only never acknowledged but viewed as politically incorrect.
Please remember that the party to which Akbaruddin Owaisi belongs, that is virtually his family party, the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Musalmeen (MIM) was until recently a member of the UPA government.
The Congress Party flaunts is disdain for ‘communal’ Hindu political parties, but never hesitates to ally with dangerously sectarian Muslim groupings, including the one in Kerala that was responsible for chopping off a teacher’s hand because they objected to a text on the Prophet Mohammed.
Mindset of Muslims
Akbaruddin Owaisi’s speech gives us a chance to start a discussion on whether Islamism is acceptable in India or not. Islamism is the religious ideology of Owaisi and his political party and since they get elected, over and over again, in Hyderabad they must be allowed to express their ideology.
The idea of India includes not just freedom of worship but freedom of speech, so Owaisi has a right to say what he did. Instead of throwing him in jail thereby making him an even bigger hero in the eyes of his constituents would it not have been better for us to have discussed his ideas publicly and made him explain exactly what he meant?
Only a real debate will help change the mindset of Muslims who continue to be taught a version of Indian history that is blinkered, bigoted and untruthful and that teaches them to believe that India is worthy only of their contempt except when it is ruled by Muslims.
It is more than time that this changed but for it to happen we need political will and so far there is no sign of it.
If Javed Akhtar had not rung me to complain about the ‘communal’ nature of a piece I wrote on Akbar Owaisi in my syndicated column last week, I might have written about something else today. But, because Javed is an old friend, because I respect his opinion and because I think he is exactly the kind of Muslim intellectual who can lead his co-religionists away from the Islamist nonsense that Owaisi vomited out in his speech, I am going to use Javed’s charges against me to re-examine what secularism has come to mean in an Indian context.
In my article (you can Google it), I made the point that when Owaisi mocked India’s civilisation and her religions, he was reflecting the opinion of an increasingly large number of lower middle class, half-literate Muslims. Javed said that this sounded as if I was labeling an entire community. This was not my intention but I reiterate my assertion that a large number of lower middle class Muslims are being taught a warped idea of Indian history. This makes them believe that India was an area of civilisational darkness until Islam came along and that its idol worshipping religions are worthy only of contempt. It is this that makes men like Akbar Owaisi assert disdainfully that the ‘naked statues’ in Ajanta are worth less than the Taj Mahal and the Qutab Minar.
Hindus rarely respond to assertions of this kind because Hindutva types are interested only in the Hindu religion and ‘secular’ Hindus are usually embarrassed to discuss India’s ancient past. Either because they know nothing about it or because they believe that there is little about India’s ancient history to be proud of other than the discovery of the zero.
Decades of an idea of India overlaid by the Congress version of secularism has cemented this attitude because Congress political leaders believe it is ‘communal’ to mention a past that was without doubt Hindu. To come back, though, to Owaisi’s speech, let me say that I believe he said nothing that warrants a charge of sedition. His speech was ignorant, tasteless and filled with hatred but I have listened to it more than once and did not see in it either sedition or an incitement to violence.
Could the Congress government of Andhra Pradesh have locked him up only to avoid being reminded that his party was until just the other day a constituent of the United Progressive Alliance? For a party that claims only to ally with political parties of ‘secular’ bent, the Congress certainly chooses some very dodgy Muslim allies. And, this brings us to the distortion in the idea of secularism that the Congress Party has perpetuated for petty political purposes.
In the old days, when Congress governments reigned supreme from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, Congress leaders did not need to make secularism a political issue. It was only after the Ayodhya movement in the nineties enabled the Bharatiya Janata Party to rise to new heights and coalition governments became the norm, that Congress ideologues discovered that one way to keep the BJP out of power was to label it ‘communal’. It was a clever idea that has become a powerful political tool and in 2014, the BJP could find itself isolated by some of its own allies if it announces Narendra Modi as its candidate for prime minister. But, the success of the Congress ploy has tarnished the secular character of the Indian state. It has reduced the meaning of the word secular to a label attached to certain political groupings.
This is sad because it is the secular nature of the Indian state that has made India come together as a nation in a way that it never did in the past. It is because India is secular that freedom of worship has become a fundamental characteristic of who we are as a people. It is one of the things we can be proud of and the only reason why a man like Owaisi can get away with making speeches in which he sneers at some of the most sacred aspects of the idea of India. So if he is guilty of anything, it is vulgarity, ignorance and a primitive disdain for those who do not share his religious beliefs.
For this, his punishment should be a long holiday with someone like Pravin Togadia or Ashok Singhal. He might find that he has more in common with them than he knows because one of the wonders of India is that fanatics, Hindu, Muslim and Sikh, look at history and religion through the same distorted lens. On a personal note, may I suggest to my old friend, Javed Akhtar, that he try to remember the kind of Islam that existed in India in his childhood and mine before harsh winds from Saudi Arabia changed it unrecognisably.

^ XPosting a post of mine in open forum
RamaY wrote:Shivji, shiv wrote: RamaY we are frauds when we get all uptight with Pakistanis who accuse Indians of harming themselves. We don't even allow people with such views to survive on this forum. But when it comes to sucking up to America, our fundamental need to be dhimmis to someone or something makes us meekly accept the same accusations that Pakis make as long as it seems to come from America.
This is definitely the fault of Indians, but when we accuse leftists, WKKs and Pappi Jhappis of being mouthpieces for for Pakistan, it is informative to see how the US manages to make Indians mouthpieces for US interests. It's just that the mouthpieces get all uptight when they are told what they are doing, but like the leftists and Arundhatis, neither the Pakistani mouthpieces nor the US mouthpieces are going to stop cheering their favourite team. They are part of the landscape and the presence of both has to be accepted.
In a one to one comparison it can be stated that being a mouthpiece for the US puts one in a better life situation than being a Paki mouthpiece. To that extent one can be judged superior to the other.
This is a much repeated concern of mine on this forum.
First of all a definition of India and Bharat so people can see what I mean when I use those words.
India: In my opinion India is a nation that is created in 1947 and represents the socialist, secular ideology that influenced the social structure and development since then. This India doesn't own the thousands of years of pre-islamic/british history and culture in the same manner it does with the Islamic and colonial history, culture and artifacts. For this nation (and its people), the pre-islamic Bharat was rid with so-many social ailments that it is sadistically welcoming phenomenon to have Islamic and colonial invasions.
Bharat: Again, In my opinion, Bharat is the eternal nation that upheld Dharma and Vedic consciousness (Awareness of Atma-swarupa and Oneness with God-Consciousness) above all and handled the contemporary issues from this standpoint. In the process they won many wars against Asuric forces (be they internal or external), lost many and invaded and occupied often. But their commitment to Satya and Dharma made them stand up again and again and win against continual Asuric forces and upheld Dharma time and again. The proof is in the fact that Sanatana/Hindu Dharma is the only surviving Dharmic/natural system on the face of earth. For this nation the islamic and colonial rules are definitely a reality and at the same time the lessons learned from those experiences too. Bharat doesn't want to be colonized again, if possible, and be equipped and ready to fight the next wave of Asuric forces.
Given that,
When a Paki or Chini comes to this forum and ridicules/discredits Bharat and its ways, their intention is to hurt and suppress Indian interests. That is a big NO NO for any Bharatiya. So they will be hunted down/out without any remorse.
The second group is a section of Indians who already became pakis in their consciousness. They too hate Bharat for various reasons and want to uphold the colonial constructs and ideologies. This is the ilk that finds Vandemataram objectionable and want to leave the scars on Bharat such as Ayodhya, Mathura and Kasi intact. For this group India is the current alteration of Bharat and returning to its root civilization is akin to turning back in time, as they confuse the cloths one wears to be the Individual. For Bharatiyas, India is just the current fashion dress/guise.
The third group love Bharat and want it to be another USA or China or Israel. They want to emulate the structures and systems that are used by these nation-states and think that would alone will make Bharat strong and assertive again. These are the people who want Bharat to do a USA/China/Israel vis-a-vis Afghanistan/Pakistan/Palestine. Personally I do not think that is the route Bharat would take and it is in its best interests. This is the group, in my opinion, you are talking above in your post above.
The fourth group wants Bharat to make Bharatiya analysis/choices/decisions for its problems. This group is proud of and is assertive about what Bharat stands for, what Bharat can do and so on. This group wants to define the Bharatiya perspective/world-view and protect and expand Bharatiya Interests. This world-view does include all strategies including war as a dharmic option to destroy Asuric forces. This group believes that Bharat has enough social, intellectual and spiritual quotient that it can lead the world humanity towards a better future than any other super power ever can do. For this group India is just one of the many social fashions and it does not represent the underlying eternal Physical and Spiritual Bharat.

Malappuram fake notes: NIA zeroes in on 2 Pakistanis & a Keralite
...the National Investigation Agency has zeroed in on two Pakistan nationals for their involvement in the counterfeit currency case in 2007 in Kerala. The NIA has named them along with a Keralite as accused in the Malappuram fake Indian currency notes (FICN) case.
According to sources, the accused have been identified as Pakistan nationals and ISI agents Imthiaz Ibrahim and Iqbal Bhai and a Keralite, Kamaluddin, Manikathpadi, of Guruvayur. The Pak nationals are implicated as 11th and 13th accused in the case, respectively, while Kamaluddin is the 12th accused.
NIA sources said the arrest of Tahir Merchant alias Tahir Taklya alias Dada, a wanted criminal in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts, paved the way for getting crucial evidence against the Pakistan nationals. “During the investigation, it was revealed that FICN with face value of `35 lakh was given to Muhammed Rafi of Orumanayur, eighth accused in the case, by Tahir Taklya who was the manager of Al-Safar Furnishing and Carpet Shop at Sharjah, Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Tahir’s interrogation revealed the involvement of Imthiaz Ibrahim and Kamaluddin,” NIA sources said.
Tahir, Muhammed Rafi, Kamal and Abdul Majeed conspired with ISI agent Imtiaz Ibrahim alias Ibrahim from 2007 onwards to smuggle counterfeit currencies to India, especially Kerala. To get counterfeit currencies from Pakistan, they raised funds from the Gulf.

Now, arrests in AP over Facebook comments
After Maharashtra police, it is now the turn of their Andhra Pradesh counterparts to arrest two youngsters for posting “inflammatory messages” on their Facebook pages.
The arrests were made in the communally sensitive Bhainsa town in Adilabad district. The two were taken into custody for posting offensive comments targeting Majlis Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) legislator Akbaruddin Owaisi, who has since been arrested for his alleged hate speech.![]()
Police did not disclose the names of the arrested . “The arrests were made to prevent any untoward incident arising out of these Facebook messages,” the police said.
Based on a complaint filed by a local MIM supporter, the police picked the youths on the grounds that their Facebook posts could hurt the sentiments of the Muslim community.

Re: Internal Security Watch
The key problem is availability of FICN from Pakistan. All this zeroing on is like plugging holes in the reservoir hoping the dam wont burst. have they found where, who and how in Pakistan is supplying this FICN thing?Anindya wrote:Malappuram fake notes: NIA zeroes in on 2 Pakistanis & a Keralite

{Five years after the fact in 2007, the NIA zeroes in on three suspects. If it was two Pakis what was IB doing? Isn't counter-espionage an IB function or did they outsource that to ISI?}

Also so far had NIA got a single conviction or is to just chase ghosts to please PC?

Activists up in arms about Mumbai cop’s poem on Azad Maidan riot
A day after TOI reported about a highly objectionable poem in Mumbai police's bulletin, some social activists said they are going to file a writ petition in the Bombay high court against the publisher and the poet. Inspector Sujata Patil of the traffic police in her poem had called the Azad Maidan protesters as traitors, snakes and suggested that their hand should have been chopped off so that they could not dare to do it again.
The poem, Azad Maidan, published in city police's bulletin, Sanwwad, has created a stir as it suggested that if the police killed the protesters there would have been no fear.

From the above link...
Film director Mahesh Bhatt said that time is here to put our police force on the psychiatric couch and find out from where their hatred towards minority originates.
"The fascist ideology has spread its tentacles into the police force. How can a police journal condone or legitimize the use of violence?" he asked.
