Re: Levant crisis - III
Just occured to me why Assad and iran cannot give up deir azzor. With the Kurds in command of north east syria, eastern raqqa and Mosul region, the continuity of the shia cresent can only be through deir azzor , Palmyra and the Euphrates valley unless the Kurds play ball....thats why pmu is also taking part in anbar offensives and suleimani is signed on as strategy adviser to baghdad hq.

The continuation of this oil trade is truly a black mark on the record of world-class pyromaniacs such as Gen. Vodkov. Why do they tolerate it? Oil tankers are too cheap to be blown up by missiles? More oil burned in conducting the mission than is destroyed? Still, what spectacular You-Tube videos they make! I can't understand it.
Re: Levant crisis - III
The Assad govt also buys some oil from Isis I think...

If the ISIS weren't so Paki by nature, they would have enough sugar to add free to what they deliver to Assad & Gen. Vodkov. Anyway, tribe or no tribe, that place has to be taken over/destroyed.
Re: Levant crisis - III
even Syriatel also operates all over syria incl JN and ISIS controlled zones. thats why we get so many selfies and twitter photos asap from all over. a bus service continues between beirut-damascus-raqqa albeit passengers report random snipers shoot at it sometimes and low flying a/c tend to buzz it to investigate.

Re: Levant crisis - III
there is a large and poisonous ISIS pocket in east homs in between the two shafts extending way out to tabqah and arak. critics have expressed a fear they will strike at one of these prongs because they are relatively intact and far behind the tip of spear now.
but I kind of doubt it...without large scale resupply and concentration of force their impact will not be much.
they are isolated, out of food and fuel mostly and will either melt away on their own, or do their localized banzai thing like the 5 teenagers who did suicide belt attack yesterday.

Liwa Suqur al-Sahara[2] (Arabic: لواء صقور الصحراء liwāʾ suqūr aṣ-ṣaḥrāʾ, translated as Desert Hawks Brigade and Desert Falcons) is an armed militia branch of the Syrian Arab Army fighting on the side of the Syrian government in the Syrian Civil War. It is primarily composed of former military officers and veterans as well as volunteers from other pro-government groups, with an age range of 25 to 40 years. Suqur al-Sahra has been described as an "elite"[3] group trained in ambush tactics, and has been employed in special assignments on several fronts. The group is equipped with light and medium arms, and is given artillery support from the regular Syrian Arab Army when needed

the other unit is the maghawir al bahr the syrian marines of latakia which is a active duty army unit. saw heavy action in the retaking of latakia. very seasoned unit.
the tanks and tube artillery/grads would be from a republican guard division. they were hauled by semi trucks most of the way and then released into action.

^^ all the oil and gas fields in the map above are vital govt targets - essential for it to sustain itself
the straight line from T3 to T2 pumping station seems to be a pipe going into iraq...there would surely be a service road and isolated villages along that route too - pretty bleak terrain in that quadrant.

if true, russia seems compromised goods ...
recently Russia and the USA put out a draft constitution for Syria which rejected by Assad, no denying from Russia. The highlight of this constitution is that all natural resource and minerals must be privatized, heard anything about this. This website, has the details

could be propaganda too.

Here we go again, SAA, NDF and allies storming Kabani (Kabaneh) in Latakia, few hills around it were taken. The offensive to capture Kabani was held cold when Russia broke the ceasefire deal with the US.
This village, sitting on top of a vast mountain chain is critical for controlling the Turkish border, most of Al Ghab plains and the city of Jisr al Shughour. A person looking down NE of Kabani can see all the cities of Al Ghab, Jisr, Idlib city, and the Turkish border, and in a clear day with good lens, even Bab al Hawa border crossing, 80 kms away.
Kabani is vital for controlling the Latakia/Idlib Turkish border and to storm Jisr and Al Ghab plains.
May the heroes of Syria have better results this time and liberate this town once and for all.

No sugar for Daesh
By Ian Greenhalgh on June 11, 2016
'Sugar' from Dubai was shipped to Islamic State in Iraq via Turkey
Several tons of explosives have been discovered in a captured Daesh stash 3Km North-east of Fallujah. The bags are branded as ‘Refined Sugar’ from Dubai and shipped via Turkey to Iraq:
Yet again we are presented with solid evidence to prove that Turkey is supporting IS directly with financial and material backing from the Saudis and other Arab Gulf states.
This shows how much of the arms and supplies that Turkey is shipping to IS are disguised – as ‘humanitarian aid’.

It seems end (total routing) of ISIS will be this year. Since ISIS has resorted to controlling land, it is possible to wipe them out completely unlike totally covert terrorist organisations.
Re: Levant crisis - III
Habal spot on! It's all about oil...and gas.Syria is sitting on far greater petro wealyh than Kuwait, why the " Sunni Syndicate" ,as I describe the alliance led by the Saudis and Turks has created and sustained ISIS.Remember its original name? ISIL,L for Levant.

if ISIS has claimed responsibility to Orlando mass shooting then what type of cognitive dissonance it will throw the US admin and their middle-east policy drivers in? Will be interesting to watch what people say in this regard.

Super delegates 20 %. All TV stations, newspapers and magazines in the hands of people u can literally count on your fingers, feeding garbage to the masses non stop and making public opinion (more like making monkey out of the public ). Sounds like real democracy.

Snahata: It don't do no good. 'They' can own all those, and its in vain. In Ulan Bator we don't subscribe to the Ulan Bator Fishwrap, read any magazines, listen to the radio or watch TV news. Read China Nonsense Network on the Internet, yes, but not to believe it. Same as "Rediff.com"
Its down to BRF and RT.com. Al Jazeera on matters not related to ISIS.
The denizens I know now believe mostly tribal websites between munching fatburgers and going out on hunting trips, practising how to build and burn crosses or to vote for extremist nutcases. Fortunately most can't read so it makes no difference what is written anywhere.
