Please advise on how I should approach this thread. When I looked through the 187 pages, it seemed to be Trump centric. Happy to comply if I got it wrong. Great time to set the direction for this thread!

"Jerome Powell just revealed a hidden reason why inflation is staying high: The economy is increasingly uninsurable"
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/jerome-p ... 53681.html

Driving the increases in insurance are factors such as climate change and rising prices for car parts, experts say.

The more frequent extreme weather caused by climate change is leading to higher risk for insurance companies, which has led them to increase their prices, according to a study from Bankrate. Over the past decade, the U.S. has experienced a record $1.1 trillion in damage from severe weather, the most on record, which has contributed to higher insurance costs, the study claimed.

Insurers pay reinsurance companies to help them avoid insolvency in the case of catastrophic weather events. But because of the increased likelihood of harsh weather conditions that can damage homes, reinsurance companies are charging insurance companies more for their services, and the insurers are passing on the costs to customers, according to Bankrate.

In some of the highest-risk areas, insurance companies have even stopped providing their services altogether.

About one in five mail-in ballots in the last election was fraudulent, handing Biden the presidency. We know this because the people who committed the fraud have admitted it in a new poll.

From Quora:
Rasmussen is hardly a neutral source[1]and the sample size — 1065 people who Rasmussen calls “likely voters” — is pretty tiny if you’re trying to extrapolate actions for over 154 million voters. Their findings where one in five voters admitted to voter fraud also are seriously at odds with other studies[2]that find the amount of fraud to be vanishingly small.

But let’s just take them at their word and look at the actual study and the questions they asked.[3] The second question asks who they voted for and 45% of the respondents voted for Trump and 46% for Biden. Even if the rest of the questions are assumed to have statistical significance and that their sample group really cheated in the way their questions imply, it would mean half of them were cheating on behalf of Trump.

So much for the “stolen” election.

New law passed in US expands definition of 'hate speech'

https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2024/5/1 ... i-semitism
US House Passes Controversial Bill that Expands Definition of Anti-Semitism

The United States House of Representatives has overwhelmingly passed a bill that would expand the federal definition of anti-Semitism, despite opposition from civil liberties groups.

The bill passed the House on Wednesday by a margin of 320 to 91, and it is largely seen as a reaction to the ongoing antiwar protests unfolding on US university campuses. It now goes to the Senate for consideration.

According to the IHRA, that definition also encompasses the “targeting of the state of Israel, conceived as a Jewish collectivity”.
