Very interesting thesis that Yashpal could have been the traitor. I remember hearing some other name from my father who was somewhat of an authority on literary Yashpal not the revolutionary. Yet I remember his obsessing about the word truth and how it was conceived by mahatma, the HSRA members, Etc. and finally never wrote the concluding chapter. He might have run into some inconsistency he was unable resolve. Yours is a bold hypothesis, if true, explains a few things I was perplexed about during that time.

In Tokyo have been to the restaurant that Bose started. They have his and his family's photographs including one with Tagore visiting them. IIrc is named Nakamuraya - or the area is called that.

Actor Manoj Kumar was awarded Dada Saheb Phalke Award. He had done a lot to bring the life of shaheed Bhagat Singh to the masses through his film - shaheed starring himself as Bhagat Singh. Worth seeing many times.
