No what you actually do is post snarky one-liners which effectively show your support for the other side (ISIS, Al-Nusra, Army of Islam, FSA, etc) and celebrate the deaths of Russian and Syrian troops. You support evil and cheer for the deaths of people out there fighting the good fight, ironically against the very same people who have killed so many Americans, to say nothing of all those Iraqi\Syrian Kurds, Yazidis, Christians (though I doubt their lives matter to you).

You're either a pathetic troll just trying to get a rise out of us, or a simpleton whose hatred of the Russians (and by extension Syrians, Iranians and anyone else allied with them) leads you to a sort of knee-jerk defense of Sunni militants, the Saudi govt, the Turks, and the other forces currently spreading chaos all over the Middle East.

Either way, you're pathetic, uninformed and not particularly clever. They'd roast you alive on any US forum but for we treat you with kid gloves here, like a retarded child everyone is supposed to humour.

Enough , no more to and fro exchanges. check morality in at the door when coming into the killing fields here.

on the palmyra sector, tiger forces have pushed ahead of Arak and T2 pumping station and fighting the ISIS units there. I think these would be lightly defended screens for the real defences at Al Sukhnah so might be captured soon.

T3 has a airbase, similar to T4 which is west of palmyra and hence is a vital objective to arrange for air cover and supplies in that vast region. not even IA could garrison every miles of these lonesome roads , so observation post and air support is important to restrict ISIS raiding parties. same goes for the mountains north of palmyra for OP use.

T3 has a airbase...ok for helicopters to operate from and maybe even FARP for Frogfoots doing the lords work

https://www.google.co.in/maps/@34.52980 ... !1e3?hl=en

this is the must bigger T4 base west of palmyra which held out against IS advances
https://www.google.co.in/maps/@34.53357 ... !1e3?hl=en

further south east about 60km from euphrates on the iraqi border south of deir azzor, is the T2 pumping station.....
https://www.google.co.in/maps/@34.37560 ... !1e3?hl=en

if the road from Sukhanah to Deir is bleak, the pipeline road from T3 to T2 is beyond bleak....one could walk for days and see no human or animal in there. could be a good base if someone had a parachute brigade. alight there and roll upto to deir from the south and launch lightning helicopter gunships at night at all points on the compass.

i guess they will capture T3 and use that to turn the flank of al sukhnah from the south and east...and then move on deir.

A surge of bloody assassinations have recently swept the northern city of Idlib , leaving scores of warlords drown in their blood, and sparking a potential in-fight among the Islamist factions controlling the city. Earlier on Thursday morning, unknown assailants have shot dead the prominent leader of Free Syrian Army’s (FSA) 1st Coastal Division ‘Imad Tabak’, in Jisr al-Shughur city western Idlib. Elsewhere in the countryside of Idlib, Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham claimed to have captured “pro-ISIS” sleeper cells, that had carried out several assassination operations by planting Improvised Explosives Devices (IEDs). Last Tuesday, According to rebels sources in Idlib city, an IED-planted motorcycle exploded in a crowded street that killed 3 boys. “Unknown militants have killed judge Sheikh Safar Al-Safer by shooting him directly in front of his home in the town of Khan Assubul, in the countryside of Idlib” a pro-rebel source reported. “They also assassinated -on January- senior commander of Harakat Ahara Al-Sham, Abdul Qadir Dhabaan nicknamed as (Abu Tamim), by planting an explosive device in his car”, the same source added.

The Syrian and Russian air forces carried out a powerful series of airstrikes on Thursday evening that targeted the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham’s (ISIS) defensive positions in the Maskanah Plains of east Aleppo and west Al-Raqqa. According to a military source in Latakia, the Syrian and Russian air forces killed an estimated 40 ISIS fighters in the Maskanah Plains, while also destroying number of hideouts used by the terrorist group to attack the nearby Khanasser Plains of east Aleppo. With the recent arrival of reinforcements to the east Homs front, the Syrian and Russian air forces have intensified their airstrikes over east Aleppo and west Al-Raqqa in order to weaken the ISIS’ supply route to the Palmyra countryside.

civil war between pro-Assad assyrian christian militias and kurdish police. so far SAA and YPG not involved.
this is near hasakah in NE.

On Thursday evening, the Arab tribes from the National Defense Forces (NDF) and the Assyrian “Gozarto Protection Forces” (GPF) captured several sites in Qamishli after a flurry of violent clashes with the Asayish (Kurdish police) units near the military airport. According to a military source in Qamishli, the NDF and GPF captured the Abu Raghab and Kurayrish checkpoints from the Asayish after launching a counter-assault on Thursday evening. Following the capture of the aforementioned checkpoints, the NDF and GPF regained control over the Al-Salaam Hospital and the Municipal Stadium, which reversed the Asayish’s gains inside the city. With the recent escalation in violence, a number of civic leaders have called for both parties to cease the violence that has cost the lives of several civilians. Representatives from the Syrian government and the PYD regime are meeting this morning in order to negotiate a final ceasefire inside of Qamishli – no further details were given.

The shadow of the Arab/Palestinian-Israeli conflict over the US pres. election.

http://www.independent.co.uk/voices/fin ... 94156.html
Finally, Israel and Palestine is a US election issue. The ‘last taboo’ is not broken, but it’s splintering
An America which can stomach the anger of its Arab allies is in no mood to suffer the humiliations of Israel either

Robert Fisk

'The umbilical cord between Washington and Tel Aviv remains. But in future, it may not be free of charge' AP
Edward Said, 13 years dead but intellectually un-buriable, used to say that there was only one “last taboo” in the United States. You could talk about blacks, gays – pretty much anything you wanted – the Palestinian scholar, linguist, historian and musician would tell us. But you can’t talk about America and Israel. Not, at least, in any critical sense.

But here we are in an American election year and Bernie Sanders is calling for a more “even-handed” approach to the Palestinians; Vice President Joe Biden has expressed his “overwhelming frustration” with Benjamin Netanyahu; even Hillary Clinton – who, of course, is going to be the next US President – has managed (just) to refer to “damaging actions” by Israel, “including with respect to settlements”.

Not exactly earth-shattering stuff, and they’ve all uttered the usual prayers. America is committed to Israel’s security which is “non-negotiable” (Clinton) and the US is Israel’s “only absolute friend” (Biden). The future President Clinton picked up 56 rounds of applause when she addressed Aipac, Israel’s most powerful lobbyists, in New York last month – that’s 18 more rounds than Netanyahu got when he addressed Congress a year ago, but he also received 23 standing ovations from the would-be Knesset members who represent American voters.

Let’s not get romantic. La Clinton even offered “a new 10-year defence memorandum of understanding” with Israel to Aipac, made the usual references to “Palestinian terrorists” and “Iran’s continued aggression”, and repeated the mantra that “Israel and America are seen as a light unto the nations” – albeit not, perhaps, unto the Palestinian ‘nation’.

Obama knows 9/11 was linked to Saudi Arabia – but it has oil
“I would vigorously oppose any attempt by outside parties,” she announced, “to impose a solution, including by the UN Security Council”. In other words, goodbye to UN Security Council Resolution 242 – Israeli withdrawal from territories occupied in 1967 – which was supposed to be the foundation stone of the whole wretched peace process.

Yet the shift in emphasis is clearly there. Sanders is Jewish – his father was an immigrant from eastern Europe – and most of his family died in the Nazi Holocaust. You might expect he would try to outgun Hillary in her support for Israel. Yet he accused her of devoting “only one sentence... that even mentioned the Palestinian people” in her Aipac hug-in, only “one line on the Palestinian people”.

This was not strictly accurate, although a close reading of La Clinton’s text shows that her references to Palestinians were more in the form of an appendage to Israeli security than a denunciation of Palestinian “suffering” – a word that Sanders has actually used about the occupied Arabs of Palestine.

Bernie believes “Israel must have the right to exist in peace and security, just as the Palestinians must have the right to a homeland in which they and they alone control their political system and their economy”. To that extent, it’s the usual stuff: no mention of Palestinian security – that will be left to Israel – but they can do what they like inside their pathetic little “homeland”.

Where Bernie has stuck out, however, is in his condemnation of Israel’s “targeted killings” (or, political murders), “further Israeli settlements on Palestinian land” (or, colonies) and “the destruction of Palestinian homes...,” Israel’s attacks on Palestinians have been “reprehensible”, he says.

He may not have called a spade a spade, but he got it right. He was the first US senator to refuse to attend Netanyahu’s speech to the joint session of Congress last year, saying that the Israeli prime minister “inappropriately used the appearance for his own political purposes”.

Joe Biden might not have quite the same heft. He’s been used before as the silly mid-off to defend Obama, deniable and jokey but still his master’s voice. He warned that “the present course Israel’s on is not one that’s likely to secure its existence as a Jewish, democratic state... we have to make sure they understand that we understand... where the ultimate solution lies.”

Translated, this means what the US administration has been telling ‘J-Street’ and other moderate American supporters of Israel: that if Netanyahu and his cabinet members continue to steal Arab land and gobble up the West Bank, they have either got to give occupied Arabs the vote – in which case, goodbye to Israel – or they’ve got to run an apartheid state in which the majority Arabs are denied the vote.

Israel's 'summer of discontent' over prices puts pressure on Netanyahu
3
show all
Beneath this verbal concern lies the growing success of the boycott movement (or the ‘de-legitimisation of Israel’ as it is called by Netanyahu – the man who is doing more than anyone else to de-legitimise Israel) and the equally growing disenchantment of Jewish Americans with an Israel which looks less and less like a light unto anyone’s nation.

What is left of the Left in Israel takes a very worrying view of the boycott campaign, but far more serious in the long term is Washington’s growing disenchantment with the Middle East.

The Saudis are being ditched in favour of the Iranians (the Saudis and Israel both loath Tehran) and an America which can stomach the anger of Arab allies of 70 years’ standing is clearly in no mood to suffer the humiliations of Israel forever.

No, the ‘last taboo’ has not been broken. The umbilical cord between Washington and Tel Aviv remains. But in future, it may not be free of charge.

Putin Orders Russian Troops To Seal Border Between Syria and Turkey

Post by U.S.Reporter
- Apr 18, 2016

Putin Orders Russian Troops To Seal Border Between Syria and Turkey
In a shocking move, Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered Russian troops inside Syria, to seal the Syrian border with Turkey. This is going to cause HUGE trouble.

Turkey has been profiting by allowing oil, stolen from Syria by ISIS terrorists, to be smuggled into Turkey via convoys of oil tanker trucks. Once the tankers arrive in Turkey, the oil is slightly refined, re-packaged to look legitimate, then sold cheap on the open market. This theft and smuggling nets ISIS about $100 Million per month, which funds its terror operations. Of course, Turkish officials get their palms greased as well, for allowing the smuggling to take place. Chief among those getting their beak wet is Turkish President Recypt Erdogan and his sons.

In addition to now cutting off ISIS money - and Turkey's illicit profits -- this border closure will stop the flow of weapons into Syria. Weapons supplied paid for by Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain and supplied to ISIS and Al Qaida inside Syria via Turkey, designed to overthrow the Syrian President Bashar Al Assad.

This move by Putin amounts to "check-mate" against the coalition that has been trying for four years to overthrow the government of Syria. That coalition includes the USA.

This totally unexpected move comes on the heels of a negotiated cease-fire which very much calmed fighting throughout Syria. But in that time of cease fire, vast quantities of weapons and ammunition were shipped into Syria from Turkey, and ISIS has now escalated its fighting, re-taking portions of Syria previously liberated by Syrian and Russian troops. Rather than fight such battles over again, Putin has ordered the border sealed.

This is a very dangerous situation now, because Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, the USA and UK (among others) have now been halted in their efforts to overthrow Syria's government. They now have three choices:

1) Try to run the border closing and get fired upon by Russian and Syrian troops, OR;

2) Engage in overt, open warfare to battle it out, OR;

3) Accept defeat.

Kinda confirming the news

turkey's response

Hürriyet Daily News
LEADING NEWS SOURCE FOR TURKEY AND THE REGION

Turkish PM responds to Obama, Putin over Syrian border remarks

ANKARA

Other countries’ statements about Turkey’s border with Syria “have no meaning,” Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu has said, in response to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s call to U.S. President Barack Obama regarding the sealing of the Turkey-Syria border.

Speaking at a press conference before departing for Strasbourg, Davutoğlu said on April 18 that Obama and Putin talking about the Syrian-Turkish border – behind closed doors and in the absence of Turkey - was meaningless.

Turkey is the only authority “to decide on the final decision about its borders,” he said.

Putin and Obama talked on the phone early on April 18, during which Putin urged the closure of the border between Syria and Turkey where “supplies of arms for extremists” were making their way in, the Kremlin said in a written statement.

Russia and Turkey are on opposite sides of the more-than-five-year-long war in Syria. While Russia is one of the main supporters of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, Turkey and the U.S. oppose al-Assad staying in power.

Davutoğlu said Turkey’s borders have “only been open to migrants” over the course of the five years.

“Considering the migrants that Turkey is hosting, the world only owes a thank you to Turkey. It is nobody’s right to bring Turkey to account,” said Davutoğlu.

The Kremlin’s statement also said Obama and Putin agreed on the phone to strengthen a Syrian cease-fire brokered by their two nations.

“The leaders discussed in detail the situation in Syria, confirming in particular their intention to facilitate the strengthening of a Russian-U.S. initiated ceasefire in this country as well as access for humanitarian aid,” it said.

Putin also stressed the need for “moderate” rebels to distance themselves from the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) and jihadists of the al-Nusra Front.

So that IS where the parachute regiment was going - or perhaps they are being held in reserve to see if Erdogan dares to act against Russian ground forces on the Turkey border - to give him something to think about in Constantingrad. Finally Putin is moving the expected chess pieces. Without closing the Turkey border there is no way to stop ISIS resupply - and escape. Maybe even AlObama has accepted this, implying that air strikes inside Turkey are not going to bring NATO reaction. A lot of Turkish artillery pieces are going to be in pieces.

South Front - Another T-90 survives a missile hit in Syria

https://southfront.org/another-t-90-sur ... -in-syria/

The news and photos of a Russian-made T-90 MBT following a direct hit by an anti-tank guided missile have been posted on a number of Russian news outlets and blogs. The tank’s frontal turret armor indicates it’s the newer T-90A with a welded turret and thicker frontal surfaces.

The missile’s explosion clearly detonated at least one of the Kontakt-5 reactive armor panels and destroyed and damaged a number of surface fittings including the Shtora ECM system.

The tank appears to have remained operational, though the gunner’s primary sight and thermal camera seem to have been damaged by the explosion.
There are no additional details concerning where, when, and with what weapon the T-90A was attacked.

It is Israel that controls US. kanan seems to understand this. I would go on to say that to understand this world and it,s history of at least the last hundred years it is almost necessary to live and work with these people for at least a decade in NY, after that with average intelligence and and willingness to think independantly and critically anyone should be able to understand this world.

tiger forces continue to clean up pockets of rats in the rugged mountains north of palmyra and pressing on with the fight in Arak and T3 pumping station.

picture should be more clear in a week if IS is able to hold these areas or falls back to Sukhanah. the road goes NE to Sukhanah and then turns 90' to go SE to Deir...which offers an opportunity to cut across the desert and block both the roads south of sukhanah, render it irrelevant and press on to deir via their short cut while keeping sukhanah garrison busy with holding attacks.

IS does seem to have a incredible number of men at arms if we consider they are fighting in azaz-mare-al rai area, defending in depth in Al bab-Deir hafr, defending Tabqah-Ithriyah road, defending in Sukhanah-arak-T3, encircling Deir azzor, defending Falluja, defending Mosul and the lands west of it, trying to retake shahdadi, and a screen around Raqqa and Manbij......either the IS is very strong or their opponents rather weak in logistics and manpower if they cannot be uprooted and crushed like the vine they area.

The Russian Air Force’s MI-28NE (Night Hunter) attack helicopters have been a godsend for the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) infantry units operating inside the vast Syrian Desert in east Homs. Why exactly? Well, the Syrian Armed Forces no longer needs to wait until dusk to attack the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham’s (ISIS) defenses; instead, they can strike the aforementioned terrorist group during the twilight hours, thanks in large part to the air cover they receive from the Russian attack helicopters. When the Syrian Armed Forces liberated the ancient city of Palmyra (Tadmur) from ISIS in late March 2016, they were able to advance each night because of the Russian Air Force’s advanced technology that picked off the enemy defenders before the infantry units attacked. The same situation is happening in northern Palmyra right now. Each night, the Russian attack helicopters lead the attack on the ISIS controlled sites in the Palmyra countryside, paving the way for the Tiger Forces to capture well-fortified areas. Without these Russian choppers, the Syrian Armed Forces would be charging ISIS’ defenses in a wide open desert that is very difficult to advance inside of; but, the table has turned now. Every Syrian Army advance in east Homs is backed by a Russian chopper that is weakening the terrorist group’s resistance.

Do not under estimate the commitment of Raymond of Chantillon to the Crusader cause. He and Saladin had a Dharmendra-Gabbar feud running over the years.

He even was contemplating a raid on Mecca.

Ridley Scott's movie when it came out was vetted by CAIR and duly blessed as a good Dhimmified movie in 2004.

Makes a lot of sense about terrorism in Kashmir is called jehad, and not terrorism.
See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gis8ulrsg1o yotoob video, 4:15 onwards.
Difference between terrorism and jihad by a sufi maulana.

Not sure but prolly such ulta logic might be bought and sold in 'international' realpolitik to hoodwink Indians. This BS about jihad is not terrorism makes support of terrorism in Kashmir as legit cause to make monies out of genociding Hindus.
