Such a interesting question. Yet, real and complicated question is can India trust its Indians? There are anti-nationals at many levels, and yet GOI has to work alongside them.
Similarly, US as a superpower strives for status quo and, we ought to work with them. It can have a odd/even policy. One day, good for India, the other day bashing it.
Yet, this US admin is the most pro-Paki in 21st century, and with Afgan crises, the superpowers will increase relations with Pakistan. That's not great news for India...
