Why isn't Ayodhya declared a national heritage site and the entire area de-commercialized.
Vatican and Mecca come to mind when dealing with such things.

Earlier Government controlled everything. And since GOI controlled everything, right from the temple management to area management to city and district management, they had no "skin in the game" to improve the area.

In fact, the CONgoon Governments took forward the policy of the Mughals and the Brishits to deride anything and everything Hindu. That shows up as the lack of infrastructure in Varanasi, Mathura and Ayodhya.

As part of the RJBM, once the SC gave its verdict, SC also entrusted the building and management of the Ram temple to the temple committee. This temple committee is currently focused on completing the Ram Temple by 2024. I think this committee will go ahead and start managing the Ram Temple and its environs.

Given that the temple is expecting upwards of 500k on Ram Navami, the district admin of Ayodhya needs to pull its pants and start creating the infrastructure for the "tourists" coming into Ayodhya.

Like all things in India, the babus, the judiciary, the elites, the police, the polity, the journos are all infected with various forms of secularitis. Some with virulent secularitis that makes them insane and anti-Hindu and anti-Indian.

Hence it is upto the CM at this stage to shake up the babooze and the civic infrastructure to ensure that Ram rules from Ayodhya, a city befitting to be the capital of Ram Rajya for Bharat.

Added later: Also I do not see "investors" rushing in buying land in Ayodhya. As long as it is planned well for the shraddhalus and progresses towards heritage city, I see that as money flowing into Ayodhya instead of flowing out.

Babri Masjid is gone and people will be witnessing the decay of GyanVyapi mosque. Isnt' that Karma?

This is what came to my mind:

All the destroyers of Kashi Vishwanath temple met a very sad end.

1. Qutubdin Aibak/Mohd. Ghori: Aibak died falling from horseback and Ghori was assassinated. Their "empires" collapsed immediately.
2. Razia Sultan: The sultana builds the Razia mosque where the Vishweshara temple was there. Razia of course was deposed and killed.
3. Hussain Shah/Sikandar Lodi: Either of them razed the temple constructed during the time of Iltutmish. Hussain Shah loses his empire and dies in exile. While Sikandar Lodi is unable to quell the rebellions and dies without consolidating his empire. Within a decade of his death, the lodi empire comes to an end.
4. Aurangazeb: This maniac dies in such a sorry state, while witnessing his own empire crumble before his very eyes. Within a decade, the mughals are gone and their line is reduced to pull rickshaws in Bengal.

Just to note, Of Bahadur Shah Jaffar's 49 children, only 3 survived! To the extent that one of Aurangazeb's lineage pleads with the court to allow the Ram Janmabhoomi be given to him and promises a gold brick for the Ram Temple.

Over a thousand years, various came and went to destroy Baba and Baba just had to smile at the foolishness of his children. The maniacs died without any real power or glory.

Let's keep things in the realm of reality and not what has already happened. The time to act for the administration is now, when there is fervour for Ram lala. Just like elites, common Hindu does not give two hoots about their place of worship. I've seen with my own eyes people littering holy places like Badrinath and Pundits extort money from pilgrims. Its just a picnic or dhanda for them.

This is why its necessary for Yogi/Modi to declare it a national heritage site and spruce it up like Mecca or Vatican. Given the population and TFR trends I doubt if Sanatan dharma will last for more than a 100 years.

While we are focussed on Kashi Vishwanath temple - it's important to note there are two other temple of immense significance within Kashi. One of them is Bindu Madhav temple. This temple was once described as most impressive building in Kashi (by a French traveller Jean-Baptiste Tavernier, who made many voyages to India in the 17th century).

Temple of Bindu-Madhav, finds mention, along with Adi Keshava, in the Matsya Purana, as one of the five most important tirthas in Varanasi. It was demolished many times and was every time rebuilt. The last time it was rebuilt as a grand temple was by Raja Man Singh of Amber in the 16th century. After capturing Varanasi, Aurangzeb prompty destroyed it. The temple was completely demolished and Alamgiri mosque was constructed there.

Here's historical proof of Aurangzeb's destruction order and subsequent direction to build the mosque in it's very place.

Today the temple is in a small house - with recovered figurines place in front of the door. A sad state of once a grand temple in Kashi.

The babooze are also doing some form "investments". The Temple Mgmt Committee will only take up land required to build the temple. And it is very obvious that people 'in the know' would buy land around the place hoping to cash in on the devotees. This has happened across all major temples (or even churches) across India. The 'seculars' are some how trying to connect this with the temple per-se and attempting to show that as corruption.

The temple and perhaps immediate vicinity can be marked as a national heritage. But the property beyond that limit is up for grabs. I have seen lot of shops and small business establishment which now surround major shrines; including Golden Temple or some churches in South India.

UP Court orders FIR to be lodged against Salman Khurshid for comments in his book on Hindu religion

Court orders FIR to be lodged against Salman Khurshid for comments in his book on Hindu religion

Dec 22, 2021,

LUCKNOW: A court here ordered on Wednesday to register an FIR against senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid for comparing the "Sanatan" Hindu religion with the Boko Haram and ISIS terror outfits in his book titled "Sunrise Over Ayodhya: Nationhood in our times".

Additional chief judicial magistrate Shantanu Tyagi ordered to register the FIR against the former Union minister.

The court directed the Bakshi Ka Talab police in-charge to get the FIR lodged under the relevant provisions of law and ensure a proper investigation in the matter.

"The copy of the FIR be sent to the court within the next three days," the magistrate said.

The order came on an application moved under section 156(3) of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) by one Shubhangi Tiwari.

In its order, the magistrate said, "From a perusal of the application and the arguments raised in its support, I am of the opinion that cognisable offences are made out against Salman Khurshid."

The applicant alleged that certain portions of the book amounted to hurting the religious feelings of Hindus.

It was also stated that an application was moved at the police station for the registration of an FIR against the Congress leader, but the police did not do so and hence, the plea was filed in the court.

I spoke with a 'prominent person' in Ayodhya who told me that the plans for the place are indeed very grand. A new airport to start with and then ropeways connecting it to all the major temples. The main RJB temple itself is going to be a huge complex in itself.

I looked at the overall scheme of things to come as reported on various sites. Looks like an impossible dream but worth dreaming and aspiring for. Who could have predicted an RJB actually becoming a reality in our lifetime?

In the end, it is entirely possible to make it a spectacular place to visit, to worship and relive the past glory of Ram Rajya. It will take enormous political will though. The money is not a problem, logistics will surely be.

siddharamiah will lose the race to become KAR CM because of what he did in 2006 by contemplating a similar Anti-Conversion bill and even getting the draft of the bill made. The mafia queen is unforgiving in such matters. In 2006, IIRC, the congi gang was in power, both in the state as well as the center with our world renowned economist sardar ensconced in the passenger seat.

Karnataka assembly passes Anti-Conversion BILL

Karnataka passes anti-conversion bill in Assembly amidst protests

Earlier, the Leader of Opposition Siddaramaiah accused the bill being the “hidden agenda of the RSS” since the genesis of the bill was a petition from people connected to the RSS in 2009. Mr. Eshwarappa accused Congress president Sonia Gandhi of stalling the bill from being brought before the cabinet. “If you (Mr. Siddaramaiah) had tried to bring it, you would have been removed.” In the same breath, the Minister said, “We will protect the dharma. We will cut into pieces whoever comes in the way.”

Karnataka Protection of Right to Freedom of Religion Bill, 2021, better known as anti-conversion bill, was introduced in the Legislative Assembly on December 21, 2021.
Anti-conversion Bill leaves wide scope for legal action

As chaos descended on the House, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai stated, “It is an open secret that RSS is committed to action against forced conversion. Why did you [Congress] prepare a draft bill in 2016 when you accuse RSS of driving it? You are a party to it (bill).”

As Opposition started a dharna in the well of the House, the bill was passed amidst the din through voice vote.

BJP turns tables on Congress, makes Siddaramaiah eat his words
The Congress had to face embarrassing moments even as the principal opposition party was gearing up to oppose the government’s bid to introduce the Karnataka Protection of Right to Freedom of Religion Bill in the Assembly. The ruling BJP furnished documents showing that the draft of a bill on similar lines had been prepared in 2016 by the Congress government led by Siddaramaiah.

Explaining the salient features of the Bill, Law Minister J. C. Madhuswamy maintained that the Karnataka Law Commission had prepared a draft bill on the lines of the Karnataka Protection of Right to Freedom of Religion Bill on the advise of the then government.

Referring to the documents furnished in this regard by the government, Speaker Vishveshwara Hegde Kageri said the Karnataka Law Commission had prepared a draft bill on the advise of the Social Welfare Department. The Bill had been scrutinised by the then law minister T. B. Jayachandra on November 16, 2016.

Later, the then Social Welfare Minister H. Anjaneya had placed the records before then chief minister Siddaramaiah. The Chief Minister had said that the draft bill should be placed before the State Cabinet. However, the bill was not placed before the cabinet, he informed the Assembly.

Mr. Siddaramaiah countered that he had not signed any such document. He insisted that Mr. Jayachandra told him that no such draft bill had been prepared.

The Speaker adjourned the House for some time before inviting Mr. Siddaramaiah and Law Minister J. C. Madhuswamy to his chamber to verify the contents of the documents.

ALSO READ Opposing it: A coalition of over 40 organisations took out a protest march in Bengaluru on Wednesday against the Karnataka Protection of Right to Freedom of Religion Bill. Protesters say anti-conversion Bill criminalises faith

After verification of documents, Mr. Siddaramaiah admitted in the House that such a draft bill had been prepared when he was the chief minister. However, he made it clear that his government had not placed the draft bill before the cabinet. “We did not go ahead with the draft bill. Hence, it is not proper to blame us by saying that we prepared the ground for tabling the present bill,” he argued.

He insisted that the present Bill introduced by the BJP government was drastically different from the one prepared by his government.

the vengeful dravidians are not going to let maridhas off so easily.

they will file other cases against him very soon but the TN BJP has now got into the act and has ratcheted up support for maridhas, moral as well as some indirect legal help.

maridas will have a much wider audience if he turns bilingual and posts in english as well

‘No part of his speech questioned the beliefs of Muslims’: Madras HC quashes FIR filed against Maridhas over old video on Tablighi Jamaat

On December 17, the YouTuber was booked under sections 292(A) (publishing grossly indecent or scurrilous matter or matter intended for blackmail), 295(A) (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings by insulting its religion or religious beliefs) and 505(ii) (statement creating or promoting enmity or ill-will between classes) of the IPC and 67 (publishing or transmitting obscene material in electronic form) of the Information Technology Act.

Interestingly, while the state of Tamil Nadu has arrested journalist Maridhas for speaking against Tablighi Jamaat, the group is already banned in Saudi Arabia, the capital of Islam. Calling it a dangerous organisation and the “gate of terrorism”, Saudi Arabia had recently warned clerics, Imams and Muslims against affiliating with this group.

It may be noted that prior to this on December 14, the Madras High Court had quashed another FIR registered by the Madurai city cybercrime Police against YouTuber Maridhas over a tweet after the IAF Chopper crash in which former Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Late General Bipin Rawat, his wife and 11 others lost their lives. after the IAF Chopper crash in which former Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Late General Bipin Rawat, his wife and 11 others lost their lives.

In the order, Justice GR Swaminathan had said that the offences mentioned in the FIR were not made in the tweet.

I am just wondering on the Naivety of SP and BSP.
They know Modi and AS are ruthless and would have been expecting these Raids.

Yet we got this.

Now, they might counter strike like Opposition did last time during Demonetization that there are no BJP person caught with huge stash of cash.

Overall all this, he is difficult to dodge Akhilesh's question, why these Raids start only before polls.

Most of the time local elections will be won by the party in power in the state if that party is serious.

C garh votes as per the elections. MH is not really gone and in the next elections, BJP has a very good chance to do very well and come back to power. Rajasthan will be ripe for the next assembly elections. Please do not forget UP win will create its own momentum.

Incredible, esp after all the Demo events. Goes to show the real power in this world is money.

One caveat though, according to some people, whoever gets raided before elections usually wins, at least statistically speaking. Not sure about the truth of this.

SP never crossed 30% vote share even at its peak. It is not at its peak. People know about its goonda raj, and other than near 100% momo vote share and significant % of Yadavs, it has nothing certain for it. BSP is not making any waves now. So how BJP is going to lose?

However the timing of this Haridwar conference so close to UP and Uttarakhand does makes me wonder if the whole thing was setup either by INC or SaPa.
He has been abusing Modi/Yogi for long time. He was let off by Jihadis for a reason.
I don't know anything about Yati but I have a slightly different take on this issue.

The reason why people fear Islam and even in the protected and fortified fortress of America, rabid right-winger RoLers back down from 'burn the Koran' events is the real possibility of losing your head. No news anchor, politician, celebrity, sports icon, writer, journalist dares question Islam whenever an act of terror is discussed.

It is this fear of the crazies that percolates down to the lowest level in any society. Moderate muslims are irrelevant as they are themselves afraid of the loonies in their midst while secretly enjoying the protection this threat of violence offers them in workplace and elsewhere.

We do not have any such groups to fight our battles. That is why a two-bit 'artist' like Hussain can paint a nude Sita and laugh all the way to the bank. Hindus too need a little craziness on our side. We need our own militant wing. Bajrang Dal was defanged and the 'moderate' Hindus celebrated, sadly. We have always been too concerned about our 'image' as peaceful, secular, easy-going people. That is why we get run over every time.

Sikhs learnt this lesson a long time ago. You don't mess with them, even though they are a much smaller minority than Muslims in India. Hindus are the butt of jokes. Our temples, our Gods even are willfully defiled, broken and discarded and all we can do is watch with impotent rage.

Imagine if you will, that Hindus knew how to take retribution for insulting our faith and our way of life, there would be no more Hussains or Vir Das or Munawwar Farooqis. None of these people would dare utter a word against Islam or its Prophet or The Book. And yet, people like them can, with impunity, say or do what they want against Sanatan Dharma and we have even Hindus uttering words in their praise and coming to their defense.

Yes, we too will then become like 'them', but that is, IMHO the only way to survive. Sometimes you have to become Sri Krishna instead of Sri Ram.

Ignoring the NE where MLAs have a habit of switching parties en masse, BJP 2.0's footprint today has shrunk back to where it started 7 yrs ago. Even MP was lost and it took lots of money and a egoistic prince to bring it back to BJP's fold. In Punjab BJP is guaranteed to get a 0 and will hope the Capt can somehow wrestle few seats to keep AAP and Sidhu away. Himachal has a 30 yr long glorious tradition of switching between INC and BJP, so it is time to pass the ball back to INC again. Uttarakhand is INC's to lose, each time BJP comes to power the party goes through change in leadership atleast thrice within a single term ! Unless Rahul Gandhi in his signature style has p1ssed off Harish Rawat so much that Rawat decides to do a Scindia, BJP isn't getting anywhere close to power again in the state. UP is BJP's best chance to win on its own with Goa another possibility but a 4-way contest would mean BJP will have to orchestrate defections.

There are several reasons for BJP's poor performance in every state over the last few years but it is primarily due to infighting and factionalism. Except GJ, in every state including UP there is tribalism hollowing out the party. Chattisgarh is a classic example where someone like Raman Singh who is a 3 time CM is now sidelined within the party he developed . The second reason is poor leadership at the state and district level. For most voters there is zero difference between a MLA or a corporator from BJP vs an MLA or corporator from some other party, both are corrupt to their bones and both insanely power hungry. This lack of good leadership goes up to the state party chiefs level where in many states BJP continues to fight assembly elections keeping Modi's posters in front because they don't have an agreeable CM candidate or the factionalism stops them from naming one.

The last reason is ignoring the public sentiments. Just as in cricket Rohit Sharma may have done well in 7 out of the last 10 games but if he flops in 3 innings then the fans call for his ouster. We are the only G20 nation with the exception of KSA not to even acknowledge the presence of an eyewatering cost of living rises across the board. The mainstream media and the social media were anyways vehemently anti-BJP, the opposition has made maximum use of these platforms to hammer the message that this government cares only about temples and not about your food, fuel or housing. Predictably Congress, SaPa, TMC, BSP and AAP have all started their campaigns in multiple states by inundating social media and news media criticizing the center for not controlling rising costs. Never forget it was the economy and economy alone which sank the Vajpayee govt from reelection in 2004 and it was economy alone which saved UPA-1 despite abysmal security conditions and mind-numbing corruption in 2009.

Good observation on willingness to escalate to violence Primus.

Even genteel Americans will tell be honest if they think you have little sympathy for Islamic aggression. This is self censored. You will not find it in the MSM. I would not betray this confidence of any individual American. Especially as it would attract the notice of potentially violent guardians of Islam. Certainly it is an unspoken thing.

I disagree that Hindus need to become like Muslims or sikhs. They have established their credentials of extreme violence in the face of great provocation, Gujarat and Delhi.

Let it be. India has a wider display of political and social opinion than the US. That is reason enough in itself to absorb a bit of mockery. What is stopping 50 million Hindus from mocking Islam or sikhs in a coordinated campaign? Why physical aggression?

Sanjay Ji, it is not just 'a bit of mockery'. We are all above that and I can happily withstand being made fun of, that is never the issue, but just the tip of the iceberg. It is the 'in your face' aggression from the other side that is routinely ignored or accepted under the excuse of 'secularism' and 'tolerance'. If we were as militant as others, we would never have this problem of 'namaz on the roads and railway lines'. Neither would we put up with encroachment of our temple spaces. Shaheen Baghs would never happen and neither would the severe violence against Hindus we saw in Delhi last year. Poor BJP workers would not be hacked to death, innocent Hindus would not be dismembered and left to rot in drains. It is the fear of an disproportionate response and retaliation that is needed.

We are a huge majority, yes, but that has never translated into mocking the others (I do not for a moment suggest we should), or even taking retribution for being insulted. There have been very very few incidents post-independence where Hindus have taken revenge upon militancy from the other side. When it did happen, the world condemned us soundly, something they have never done for the hundreds of thousands killed or displaced by militant Islam.

Just google for the map of Tirupathi Devasthanam. Look at the huge number of churches surrounding the holy site. Show me ONE Hindu shrine or temple anywhere in the Vatican or in Mecca.

I have always been a peacenik at heart, from the Vietnam days. But sometimes you have to rise up and recognize that being peaceful does not always work. We have all been brainwashed too much by Gandhian ideals of 'turn the other cheek', and I include myself in this.

In today's world, to quote Gabbar, 'jo dar gaya, samjho mar gaya'.
