Times change. I am sure we are in the cusp of something big in the next decade. So many near misses and good performance outside olympics.
Nevertheless we don't have to emulate the Chinese large ball/small ball committees and child beating methods to show we are good in sports too.

Let us not beat ourselves up. I think we are on the right path. The overall performance of us in this Olympics is far superior to the Beijing games.

yohan blake wins heat in 10:00 - he is short but has a very fast and smooth start .... superb technique after he gets upright also.

might take gold this time unless bolt finds his mojo.
I saw the bout, and he did spit it out, ostensibly to gain some time when the onslaught from the American guy got a bit too much. He was too defensive, but more importantly, his defensive technique wasn't up to the mark.

My problem with this appeal is not whether he had a chance to win further or not, but the different standards applied.
Exactly my problem too...Vikas may have been hopeless and might have been slaughtered the next round but that doesnt take away the blatant double standard applied to this and the Sumit sangwan appeal case

He clearly lacked fitness and you know when the boxer is dancing with his hands down with no guard that he is tired... His tactics were wrong too and he was just letting him hit. He was studying for exams as well apparently. By the third round he was just too tired and exhausted - barely had energy to walk!

I think if he trains harder he will do a lot better and good potential for future

I'm looking forward to Devendro Laishram's fight in 45 minutes. He is a good fighter.

Wang seem to be in pain between sets. Saina has won bronze. It isn't Saina's fault if the opponent is not fit enough.

I would have hoped for a clearcut victory but I will take it. bad for the chinese girl though.

this raises questions about the badminton schedule, why did it have to be back to back ? 3 matches in 3 days ?

I hope she wins the Gold next time. She needs to tune her tactics and train harder to defeat the Chinese.

Now let's wait for desis who deride our own win, saying that we won only because of a forfeit.

Nevertheless, congratulations Sania! Well deserved bronze medal, and hopefully gold next time!

the 1st set 18-21 was close enough that no H&D self goals are needed. its not as if 2-21

That's about it. If the Chinese had trained harder or didn't give everything in the first set, she could have won. Tough.

gold medal match about to start. I will go with the wildcard Li. Yihan seems to be wearing a black compression belt around the waist..perhaps some light lower back or hip muscle issue.
