A military and diplomatic source told Sputnik that a US Air Force plane had evacuated Daesh (ISIS, banned in Russia) field commanders from Deir ez-Zor.

A US Air Force aircraft evacuated 20 Daesh field commanders from the Syrian city of Deir ez-Zor liberated this week by the government forces back in August, a military and diplomatic source told Sputnik.

“Amid successful actions by the Syrian government troops in the eastern part of Syria in late August, a number of field [Daesh] commanders backed by US special services, had been promptly evacuated from Deir ez-Zor to safer regions in order to use their experience in other directions,” the source said.

The source said that on August 26, a “US Air Force helicopter” had evacuated 2 Daesh field commanders of “European origin” with members of their families from an area located to the north-west of Deir ez-Zor at night.

BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:15 A.M.) – Russia, the United States and Jordan have reached an agreement which will allow the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) to take over control of virtually all of militant-held southern Syria with the exception of a Coalition-occupied base near the Iraqi border.

The agreement will see pro-government forces assume control over nine hundred (900) key points – which until now were held by US-backed mercenaries – throughout Syria’s great southern desert region.

The agreement excludes surrendering a key Coalition base at the town of al-Tanf near the Syrian-Iraqi border where US troops are still reportedly present.


One US-backed Free Syrian Army faction in the region, the Ahmad Abdo Martyrs Brigade, has reportedly abandoned its positions already and is withdrawing towards Jordanian territory.

When exactly the agreement goes into full effect is still not entirely clear yet.

BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:30 P.M.) – According the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD), the Russian air grouping in Syria conducted airstrikes against ISIS in Syria’s Deir Ezzor region on Tuesday that inflicted huge losses on the terrorist group’s manpower and military equipment.

The Russian MoD released a statement yesterday claiming that intense airstrikes by its Syrian-based combat aviation assets in and around the town of Ash-Shula (about thirty kilometers west of Deir Ezzor city) on Tuesday resulted in the killing of 200 ISIS militants and the destruction of four tanks, alongside another eight armored vehicles, belonging to the jihadist faction. Video evidence showing the aftermath of these strikes was released yesterday.

Over the period of Saturday to Tuesday, it is known that the Russian air grouping in Syria increased the rate of its sorties by 300 percent; virtually all of these combat missions targeted ISIS manpower, vehicles, positions and gathering points near Deir Ezzor city.


Furthermore, Russia carried out four cruise missile strikes (initially it was thought to be three) via a frigate stationed in the Mediterranean, destroying a communications center and three weapons depots used by ISIS in western Deir Ezzor.

Khabajb and Shulah have been taken but the road from Shulah to DeZ remains.

some section of kurds are questioning the value of being a NATO tool. its the russians who are now mediating them a deal with the FSA jihadis and turks in the north near afrin. even if they get hold of more oilfields , what then with the oil - it will be either sell the oil to turkey, iraq or assad - who have the coastline and pipelines out of the region.

the richest oil field in syria is said to be the omar oil field 50km south of dez and due east of mayadin.

the boats are to facilitate an attempt to reach there.

saa will look to cross over and advance quickly downriver on both sides rather than get embroiled in urban dez.

russians have managed to keep him quiet with promises of accomodating his proxies later when the time to recapture Idlib comes. ISIS is being hammered which is no skin off his nose.

Nusra knows this and is going after the local turkish proxies (Shams front) brutally. the other set of proxies the EphShield are not in Idlib but separated by the aleppo corridor to Nubl-Zahraa, they will be given a corridor to enter and go after Nusra in the due time probably. complex moves in that region with russians also now frontending the YPG-FSA talks.

from being nowhere in the table, they are now the main deal maker .. but quietly without the huge noise that usa makes.

According to the source, the initial step of the coming offensive looks to push south along both banks of the Khabur River to dislodge ISIS militants from a string of towns in the southern countryside of Hasakah.

Once this stage is completed, the US-backed SDF hopes to reach the northern side of the Euphrates River to set Rojava’s (Syrian Kurdistan) future border with the SAA.

BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:40 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has lifted the nine month long siege imposed on the Deir Ezzor Military Airport by the so-called Islamic State (ISIL), Hezbollah’s official media wing reported this afternoon.

The Syrian Arab Army was able to lift the siege after liberating the territory around the Tahtuh and Harabish districts, forcing the Islamic State terrorists to retreat away from the road blocking the provincial capital from the Deir Ezzor Airport.

As a result of this advance, the Syrian Arab Army was able to meet up with their forces at the Deir Ezzor Military Airport for the first time in nine months.


The next objective for the Syrian Arab Army is to liberate the Thardeh Mountains; once cleared, the Deir Ezzor Military Airport will be secured from its western perimeter.

DAMASCUS, SYRIA (4:30 P.M.) – On Friday, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) opened a new front in eastern Syria after securing large advances in the northern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

Backed by American airstrikes, the SDF managed to imposed full control over the villages of Jabal az-Zirab, Bir Dumayni, Hujayf az Zarrab and Tal Aljehev, thereby putting their forward units within 25 kilometers of Deir Ezzor’s northern gates.

The advance puts all of the Kharafi road and most of the Abu Khashb road under Kurdish control. US advisors are notably heavily involved in planning the offensive.


On Saturday morning, fresh clashes also erupted on the Khabur River front further east but skirmishes on this frontier proved to be diversionary attacks, probing ISIS’ defensive line.

Meanwhile, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) scores new gains in the provincial capital of Deir Ezzor amid fierce clashes with Islamic State combattants.

With ISIS on its last legs, the SAA and SDF are currently competing in a race to capture as much of Deir Ezzor province for themselves.

Psst: This SDF: Do they have strength to hold territory? Sounds like they are airlifted from one cave to another by the USAF. Is SDF==Kurds, or are they the same as Flee Sillian Almy of Moderate Terrorist Child-Beheader fame?

kurd veterans are busy in raqqa and have no real interest in advancing well south of their rojava. infact even raqqa is never part of any rojava map its a arabi city.
so a motley collection of arabi militias occupying land already vacated by ISIS who are fighting down south in DEZ. backed by airstrikes.
