Very 'Enlightening' indeed!
Best to disregard unhinged posters/stalkers like the above. This one has different points labeled me a "jihadi", "dhruv rathee", etc. I have blocked these posters as a protective measure.
But the persistent and targeted stalking (including behavior such as pasting my posts, replying, editing them, etc) has not stopped. A pattern of targeted behavior is being established.
These trolls are trying to label/profile other posters according to their own US partisan ideologies, instead of legitimately debating the content of posts. How that came to pass and is tolerated on BRF is still a mystery to me.
However, my personal tolerance for this is a different matter - it will be interesting to see how long they will persist in this stalking behavior until there are real consequences.
As for Kash Patel: he seems to be a Trump loyalist (obviously) and hopefully will do a good job at the FBI. Again, it is impressive and remarkable for a Hindu-American to become the FBI director. I hope his appointment goes well.

This guy Mitch McConnell will not contest in the next election. "My current term in the Senate will be my last." { thank heavens! }
Sen. Mitch McConnell has announced he will not seek reelection next year, ending a 40-year career in Congress that saw the Kentucky Republican serve as the longest-serving Senate party leader in U.S. history.
// Mitch has consistently been against DJT nominees in the senate.

The Senate on Thursday confirmed Kash Patel to serve as the head of the FBI. Patel was confirmed in a 51-49 vote. Two Republicans, Sens. Susan Collins (Main) and Lisa Murkowski (Alaska), voted against confirmation.
Patel has said he would “shut down” FBI headquarters on his first day in office and turn it into a “museum to the deep state.”

That racial undercurrent is always there in USA, but as far as these confirmations go it is hard to discern that it altered the outcome.
In some way that is a strength of democratic processes, i.e. biases are present but the process still manages to reach an objective outcome. At the end of the day, all these confirmations occurred along expected party lines.
The only ones that failed right off the bat or squeezed through by tie-breaker (i.e. Gaetz and Hegseth) are both "white guys".

FBI Director Kash Patel@FBIDirectorKash
I am honored to be confirmed as the ninth Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Thank you to President Trump and Attorney General Bondi for your unwavering confidence and support.
The FBI has a storied legacy—from the “G-Men” to safeguarding our nation in the wake of 9/11. The American people deserve an FBI that is transparent, accountable, and committed to justice. The politicalization of our justice system has eroded public trust—but that ends today.
My mission as Director is clear: let good cops be cops—and rebuild trust in the FBI.
Working alongside the dedicated men and women of the Bureau and our partners, we will rebuild an FBI the American people can be proud of.
And to those who seek to harm Americans—consider this your warning. We will hunt you down in every corner of this planet.
Mission First. America Always. Let’s get to work.

Kash Patel takes oath as FBI Director on the BhagavadGita (Jai Sri Krishna), with AG Pam Bondi administering the oath. This is a historical moment to see an Indian origin man on BG oath being sworn in as Director of FBI. What a moment. Hope he conducts himself with Bhagawan given shraddha and brings glory to his position.

This is quite revealing, on the amount of damage the dumbocrats have done. Massive amounts of money in the name of DEI, global warming, illegal immigration, etc have flooded many depts including Pentagon. China has been pumping in money to enable many of these initiatives. The DJT admin is on a spree of spring cleaning or in India there is the bogi pongal (wherein old stuff is collected and put into a fire heap) festival for such things. Many top officials are removed, the swamp is being cleared out. DJT fired the chief of army staff and other underlings. Many in Pentagon are influenced by various factions, Paki, Iran, China, etc. Kash Patel of FBI wants to move headquarters from DC to Huntsville Alabama, they have to come in person to the office. DJT is working with Russia on a stop to wars and Zel has been asked to cough up 500 B back to the US. Gaza is another project for DJT which will happen, hamas will be removed and Iran will be under pressure to knock of its nuclear ambition. Many radical moves are being made, everyday is a another non-stop action packed episode in the US.

While I support Kash Patel, not all that glitters is gold. Kash Patel, age 44, as an Indian-American Hindu, I think he should be held to a higher personal standard. Kash Patel divorced his first with Rithika whom he was married to from 2020-2023. In 2022, he had an affair with his current girlfriend Alexis Wilkins, age 26, while married - this part I find disturbing. In 2023 he divorced with a $2M one-time alimony + property. There are no children from this marriage. His ex-wife and Pete Hegseth's current wife own a restaurant in NYC.

well , doesn't divorces happen in India ? But yes, actually he would be held to a higher personal standard. also if you look at it., like it or not, the Indians with white mates usually have better prospects in western countries ,than Not, not counting millionaires/billionaires

I hope Hindu Americans don’t end making so many rash decisions or utterances that they end up Viveked in the political establishment. Hindus make up under 1% of population so they don’t have the safety in numbers. Right hates them and Dems are full of green-red brigade that mean no good. The lack of wisdom from someone called Vivek is just mind boggling.

Actually that profile endears him to the white MAGA crowd … compared to Vivek who may come across as too “clean” … see it’s not always race but adoption of “local culture/ habits” matter as well. MAGA crowd doesn’t care about family values as much …they don’t mind a brown monkey as long as he dances to their tune!

I don’t ascribe to Kash Patel being a brown monkey. He will make an excellent FBI & ATF director (Trump also named him head of ATF) today. What bothers me is his personal judgement. Maybe it was a toxic relationship? I don’t know, but I do know you don’t cheat on your spouse. That may cloud other professional decisions of grave importance.
MAGA or non MAGA. Both parties have very flawed people in positions of importance.

This YT is on Tulsi Gabbard, DNI of US being interviewed by Lara Trump, a former republican party co-chair. In 2019 Tulsi ran for US President as a democratic party contestant, but did not manage to emerge from the contest. She was disillusioned by the Democratic Party and was put on list to be watched. She joined DJT and the republican party. In this inteview, she provides her vision for US and how she hopes to have an impact on the intelligence function of the US.

Al Guardian - Kash Patel tells FBI staff to ignore Elon Musk request to list their achievements
The new FBI director, Kash Patel, has told his agency employees to hold off on responding to an email from the Donald Trump administration asking them to list their accomplishments in the last week as tech billionaire Elon Musk expands his crusade to slash the federal government’s size.
“FBI personnel may have received an email from OPM requesting information,” Patel’s message read. “The FBI, through the Office of the Director, is in charge of all of our review processes, and will conduct reviews in accordance with FBI procedures. When and if further information is required, we will coordinate the responses. For now, please pause any responses.”

Manish_P ji, no. People in some departments who are working on top secret issues are exempt. It was clarified just now on FNN by a guest to Martha McCallum.

Yes, Vayutuvan ji. An average IQ, aam admi like me understood that.
What surprises me is that this did not occur to the high IQ, hyper functioning, super brains at DOGE. Did it not strike them to NOT send the email order to those sensitive departments rather than later have the dept. heads intervene and order their juniors not to respond...
Now the perception seems to be that there are multiple power centers each working at cross-purposes and trying to protect their turfs - as per the grand old traditions.

Brian makes a convincing argument, don't be fooled by the new Trump administration. This is the deal he cut with the deep state. Watch in full.
Victoria Nuland’s National Endowment for Democracy (NED) has released a statement following the halt of funding by DOGE and the Trump administration.
The NED, which are the architects of color revolutions in Eastern Europe including Ukraine and Georgia, states that as a result of the freeze “it has been unable to meet its obligations and has been forced to suspend support for nearly 2,000 partners worldwide.”
“Ninety-five percent of NED’s funding is directly appropriated by Congress and is not considered foreign assistance. This funding therefore was not subject to the executive order freezing foreign assistance for a ninety-day review. However, despite being exempt, access to these funds has been inexplicably cut off, forcing NED to halt all partner support and furlough the majority of its staff. While the U.S. Department of State has suspended a small portion of NED’s funding as part of the foreign assistance executive order, those funds represent only a fraction of the Endowment’s total budget.
The disruption is hitting hardest in highly repressive environments, where dedicated frontline organizations have been forced to lay off staff, curtail operations, and, in some cases, face increased security threats.”
The organization is demanding that funding be resumed immediately

I would love to hear the internal tongue lashing that Baniansky will get, all he has to say is "Yes sir, yes sir". DJT is going to extract the maximum to pay for the $500 B money spent on Ukraine tamasha. DJT might use Ukr to get some manufacturing help for the MICs.

Zelensky just gave Trump a golden ticket.
Now Trump has the optics to shut down all aid to Ukraine, turn up the heat on the investigation into the money laundering, and negotiations with Putin just got easier.
This was a massive turning point for public perception of Ukraine, and I’d argue we are now closer to peace, now that Trump no longer has to worry about being seemingly supportive of Ukraine.
He can come to terms with Putin, and Zelensky will remain at the kid’s table while the adults determine his fate.
Today, the veil was lifted.

Very entertaining - and also cheap/unbecoming - public argument between Zelenski, Trump, and Vance. A sort of reality TV of poltoos.
Instead of this being some "masterstroke" by Trump, I see this as the long-overdue cracks/fault-lines between the "western" (and other "gora" majority nations). They are now worn down enough by Asian competition and internal problems that they are questioning their current alliances/long-term survival arrangements.
Let's see if the Europeans manage to put together a military coalition to defend the Pakrainians. Decades of dependence on US logistics will surely bite them.

The Euros don't invest heavily in the military for a lack of trust that they will be able to keep their hands off each other. My reading is that the US is wanting to ally with Russia+Europe while the Europeans are caught in a time warp refusing to move past the last century.

To begin with, it was Zelenski who jutted in during the press briefing and questioned American policies. He should have raised his objections during closed door meeting and not in front of the media. Once that happened there was only one way it was going to end up.

I saw the entire 50-minute thing. Z should have realised that DJT and JD are not like Biden. I am sure that his local diplomats have told him the reality. Yet he decided to wear some stupid dress and doing eye rolls and shugges in the meeting. All he has to do is boost DJT's ego and get into his good books. While it may not help with more funds, it would have helped him with some more protection, etc, at the diplomatic level.
