Slain constable's daughter stood tearless
Head Constable Murlidhar Laxman Chaudhary of the Rapid Action Force was killed on Wednesday in the gunfire at the Chatrapati Shivaji Terminus station.

Chaudhary was given a guard of honour at CST station in the presence of Somaya Raghvan, general manager (Railway) and KP Chaturvedi Additional director general of the Railway Police Force.

His daughter Priyanka was also present at the ceremony. 24-year-old Priyanka stays in Mumbai along with her maternal uncle at Malad. Her younger brother who is studying in ninth grade stays with her mother and father in Ambernath. Chaudhary would commute daily from Ambernath to CST station.

Priyanka had last met her father on Sunday as he met her once a week at her uncle's house.

Priyanka got information of her father's demise late on Wednesday night. She immediately rushed to Ambernath but when she realized her father's corpse would not be taken to Ambernath and she would have to wait till all the formalities are completed.

Priyanka had still not spoken to her mother and was not aware of her condition. The cremation is scheduled to take place on Thursday night.

Priyanka stood still and tearless while the ceremonies were completed.

RIP my fellow countryman.
My heartfelt condolonces to the family members.
Jai Hind!!!

CNN-IBN (Simi Pasha?) is talking their hats.

MARCOS were in position by mid-night. They are a much smaller (equally well trained/equipped) element compared to the NSG, they did their job, got hurt, let the NSG take over and now are going back in to give NSG a break.

Rahul:
No, they are not Mumbai Police. The only pics of MARCOS came when they were evacuating their fallen comrade to INS Ashvini there were 5-6 folks in blue full torso BPJ wearing camo fatigues taking their comrade out to the ambulance.

What is more frustrating other than those attacks is the apparent chaos in dealing with those porky-chops. Its the chaos which allowed those pigs to run amok at so many different locations.
media is clueless, people in charge are clueless, citizen are confused and we are getting all those contradicting reports from all over.
we need to have US style command and control center which comes in action during crisis like this. they should be able to co-ordinate the whole operation. we need to have one person who holds the press conference and feed the media so we can have a consistent news.

we have so many agencies working on this and i dont know who is pulling the strings. the CM comes on the tv and looks beat up. This needs to change, we should have one agency dealing with this. one agency which makes strategies, call in commandos, create perimeter, put firetrucks and EMS on stand by, feed the news, and manage the crowd.
Unless we have a swift response team we gonna suffer high casualties because this will not stop. this will keep on hapenning until all the countries stand up against this monster and that is not happening tomorrow.

PS. i hope they release the pic of dead body of the girly pork -chop.

Pakistan FM asks India not to point finger for Mumbai attacks (AFP)
ISLAMABAD (AFP) — Pakistan's foreign minister on Thursday asked India to wait for proof from an investigation before blaming anyone for involvement in the Mumbai terror attacks that have killed over 100 people. The statement was a response to a televised speech by Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in which he said that those behind coordinated attacks against Mumbai were based "outside the country" and warned "neighbours" who provide a haven to anti-India militants.

Pakistan's foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, in New Delhi for peace talks, told the private Dawn television station that nobody should be blamed until investigations were complete. "Our experience in the past tells us that we should not jump to conclusions," Qureshi said.
"We should not go for a knee-jerk reaction," Qureshi said, adding he would meet Singh on Friday and express condolences, solidarity and support to him and the people of India. "We need to be calm, we need to be composed and we need to be supportive of each other."

lakshmiC and others don't dry up info by demanding sources. better ask for gist of the info and then look for sources ourselves. Its not like we are writing dissertations and peer reviewing.

Does the Quereshi report mean that MMS will meet him Friday? Looks like Pranab has better sense then this joker.

During kargil also the TSP FM Aziz was in India. Looks like standard operating procedure for TSP to have their civilian /mil official in the land of the attack. Same case with 911 when Lt gen Ahmed was with Porter Goss!

The source of Pak intercept is all powerful US Agency--NSA. Statement released by Haqqani was, "It does not do any good to start a blame game unless the investigation is completed and all facts have been established"

Former U.N. Ambassador Bolton on Terror Attacks in India
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,458389,00.html
BOLTON: Well, you know, many in India believe that a lot of the terrorist attacks that we've seen across the country really have been financed, organized, directed by extremists in the Pakistani government, particularly the Inner Services Intelligence director or ISI.

The main flashpoint between Pakistan and India over the years has been Kashmir, where a lot of these terrorist attacks have occurred. Obviously, it's premature to conclude anything about where this group may have been supported, but this is the kind of suspicion that can lead to an increase in tensions right there on the subcontinent very quickly if this is not cleared up.
BOLTON: Well, again, based on what we know which is hardly complete I this really had a global audience in mind. They wanted British or American hostages, perhaps other foreigners, to indicate that India in current circumstances was not exactly a safe place to travel, to invest, or — to trade.

And I think that's one reason why we can have some confidence this is Islamic extremists. It seems impossible to believe that Hindu extremists would do this unless it was kind of reverse psychology operation.

And I think that will increase suspicion in India that this was directed from outside the country, whether it was Al Qaeda or other — Islamic extremists, this was not a wholly indigenous operation.

'Free our Mujahideens' demand Bombay terrorists
Speaking from inside the Oberoi hotel where at least half a dozen foreigners are being held hostage one of the gunmen, identifed as Sahadullah, told India TV he belonged to an Indian Islamist group seeking an end to the persecution of Indian Muslims.

"We want all Mujahideens held in India released and only after that we will release the people," he said. "There are seven of us inside Hotel Oberoi."

Remember the condescension about 2004 tsunami and GoI's allegedly shoddy response in western media? And then Katrina happened and they realized they are as vulnerable as us.

There is a reason for the heightened western media coverage: this is the first time that co-ordinated teams of terrorists are attacking a civilized city. The western media must have got orders to absorb ALL they can and get it back to their establishments. There is a lot to learn from this for all sides. Right from people's reactions to how the good guys can coordinate better in a chaotic megacity. And they obviously used India's mobile telephone networks and GIS systems like google earth.

Regardless of claims of "Indian Govt sucks, intel failure" deep in their hearts the west knows that no city in west is immune to this sort of attack.

Bottom line is that 16 or 20 Paki Military terrorists, armed with AK47s and grenades, and the advantage of total surprise, were not able to kill even ten unarmed, unwary civilians per terrorist b4 they were all pest-e-sha'eeded. Mumbai is so crowded that if they had just stood and swiveled with an AK47 on full automatic, they would have hit more innocents than they managed to do.

A complete failure. Schoolboys with bolt action rifles did "better" at carnage, say at Columbine High School in the US.

I don't see what all the hoo-haing is, about the "training" and "coordination" of these terrorists. They were just blithering idiots. Gestured dramatically as seen in TV movies. Wore cargo pants like Belgian mercenaries. And went running up and down staircases for exercise. Phooooeey!

IOW, Pakis.

Then again, maybe the whole thing was a setup on TV by the Hindootva, to divert attention from the huge plot by the Saddvi and the LtCol to take over India.

Why are they giving out their numbers? Obviously GoI is not going to release "all" mujahideen. It can not. Looks like they are saying "come in and MARTYR us. we can not hold on any more". This is clearly a set of incidents to terrorize and pass messages to different governments. They did not definitely intended to get some released.

We elect Congress, snub BJP, and our media denounces Narendra Modi as a Hitler.

Appeasing minorities has a price. This is nothing, wait til Pakis manage to detonate a smuggled nuke in Mumbai. Then you'll see the real slaughter. Insted of 125 dead, how does 1.25 million sound?

Keep on abusing Hindu nationalists, Mr 'Secular' India! See what happens.

OMG!

How very true!

Seems we were safest when ties were at their lowest ebb following the parliament attack. When the parakram mobilization was happening the Bakis were frantic and paniking coz their diplo personnel here weren't able to get thru to the netas and babooze in the corridors of power in Dilli and they had little idea how far GoI would go.

Wouldn't be surprised if now on, Baki govt leaders and officials become ever less welcome in phoren capitals.

It is strange with the US media and reaction from the State. They are (pretending to) treating this as if this happened in their backyards. They are giving 1-888 numbers around the clock. Inviting people to call in. Yesterday they were inviting people to give them more info if they have people visiting Bombay or have friends or relatives living there.

England to leave India before returning for first tests on December 11 (IHT)
BHUBANESWAR, India : England's cricket squad will fly home on Friday in the wake of the terrorist attacks in Mumbai before returning to India to play two test matches as planned.

The England and Wales Cricket Board said Thursday that the players will be back in India in time for the first test in Ahmedabad on Dec. 11, with the second match the following week set to be moved from Mumbai to another venue in the south of the country.
England had been set to stay at Mumbai's Taj Mahal Palace hotel, which was targeted in the attacks, ahead of the second test.
"Both the ECB and the Board of Control for Cricket in India have made assurances that the two test matches will go ahead," the ECB said in a statement.
"The tests are going on," Modi said. "Definitely."
ECB managing director Hugh Morris denied that he had already asked the BCCI to call off the tests, although the bodies have postponed the last two one-day matches in Guwahati and New Delhi. India leads the seven-match series 5-0.

No doubt that they failed in getting higher casualty numbers given their numbers but they have managed to get the focus turned on to Islamic Terrorism and bring in the worlds attention on the India-Pakistan relationship. US State Dept has started its travel advisories. No faulting them when they see no Central Authority in India is giving any kind of real assurances about the safety of people in India. En3saar, like the good doctor you too are doing an equal equal by bringing in Malegaon here. We are wiser than that and now is time for the Deegaj @ BR to provide a steady message to all at large. Around midnight PST the CNN Intl anchor Rajpal and co host said that the way India handled the matter the number of dead was minimized. However didn't see a repeat of that anywhere.

SHQ thought that the attack was a useless thunderbolt that exposed their networks and hand.

Its out and out a TSP attack. Some IM were involved so lets not blame all. Only the terrorists. In a few more days it will come out that the fellows holed up are PAKi SSG terrorists in mufti.

CARACAS, Venezuela: Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has condemned the terror attacks in India, saying the suffering is being widely felt.

Medvedev expressed dismay at the attacks during a visit to Venezuela Wednesday night, saying "what these terrorist acts do is harm all of humanity." ...The Russian leader said "we feel concerned about these losses."

I have no clue.

CNN-IBN (that's the only channel I get) has Pranav Damale-Citizen Journalist who got some "NSG" on mobile video at the Taj. In terms of the time line the NSG has not yet arrived at the Taj. These "NSG" are in army camo, BPJ (can't make out if it is blue or not) and standard US style Kevlar helmets. So these guys are either the "army commandos" a.k.a Army Special Forces or MARCOS. NSG when they do arrive are all in black fatigues with black bomb sniffing dogs to boot.

Also after the NSG arrived CNN-IBN is stating "The NSG and Marine Commandos are involved in.....". Unless LNS or someone would like to chime in, I think there were no "Army Commandos" it was always a MARCOS and later NSG + MARCOS show.

Folks can we please desist from posting inane things like some stupid commercial irrelevant things like a cricket match was canceled. Makes me wonder where your priority and patriotism lies.
