Is china of today a legitimate nation

Let us discuss China. Is the china which is today really one country or many races /countries have been forcibly kept "in" as china.

What is their legitmacy in illegally occupying Tibet, parts of India as aggressor in 62 and hankering for more in AP.
Do those regions which are now part of China , can they be sustained if CCP, PLA crumbles as similar to SU.

If India is a country because of British as per "intellectuals", then how can Hongkong be part of China. I believe Hongkong has some different set of laws. So should we give stapled visas to people of Hongkong origin.
Let us dig up some history and see whether there was/is any "idea" of china

Admins you can delete this if you feel this is not a valid topic and other posters can increase their post count by Ib4TLs before admins do the halal if they feel this is not to be discussed.

No harm in discussing here is there? The idea of India got a thread which was promoted from underwear forum to breast pocket. Why move China to dark narrow places?

China is a geographic marker like "North Pole" and "South pole". It is far east. North pole and South pole are white. East is red. Of course.

India is more important to us than China :) ... however if people want to elevate this thread, no problem.

started a thread on the artificially created nations of China and Pak. To combine all the angles raised in the idea-of-India thread and this thread. I have gone ahead and declared them as artificial states - so the onus is on defenders of China to prove that it is really a nation, etc.

The entity called China has 55 distinct ethnic nationalities and up to 200 languages. This is more than India. The only official language allowed however is Mandarin, the language of the ethnic majority Han.

No. China is not legitimate nation. Its an entity of wolves
+ hens and rabbits. The wolves have taken military control and are running the show.

A Nation is an entity where its people govern themselves by consensus for the most part.

China can be best described as a Nationalist Corporate at best. A nation has to take care of the interests and aspirations of its people first. But, in China we have a bloated Corporate with pliant employees since they have nowhere else to go and completely believe in their own cool-aid.

We need to appoint Arundhati Roy as the Indian Cultural Ambassador to PRC :-) in recognition of her services to humanity and hope to reform China too.

PS: The chances are high that AR will get reformed with a stint in Beijing, than the other way around.

Did you mean to say Ten thousandth of ten thousand years? Typos are common here as everywhere else, so just being helpfully suggestive.

BTW, you're doing a good job repeatedly vindicating shiv's statement to you in the Global threat from artifically created states thread. Keep up the good work! Allows the sub-hunters to have a field day making a sincere attempt at earning their pay instead of just burning precious aviation fuel!

I would like to see Chinese REd Army in a similar position at the hands of her own people who aspire for democracy!

let us wait and see!
India should encourage people in China to take over the power replacing the red army. This should have two interests in CHina - one is to continue its economic interests and growth and other is to hold China together without much occupation rather decentralised power to various states.

Xinjiang ie East Turkistan was originally occupied by "Caucasian" races ..

Mystery of the mummy's Chinese travel ban

By Clifford Coonan in Beijing

But the opportunity for new audiences in the United States to view the "Beauty of Xiaohe" – a near perfectly preserved mummy from an inhospitable part of western China – has been dealt a blow after it was pulled from an exhibition following a sudden call from the Chinese authorities on the eve of opening. The reason for pulling the mummy and other artefacts from the show remained unclear yesterday (Chinese officials were on New Year holiday) but there were suggestions that the realities of modern Chinese politics may have had a part to play.

The mummy was recovered from China's Tarim Basin, in Xinjiang province. But her Caucasian features raised the prospect that the region's inhabitants were European settlers.

It raises the question about who first settled in Xinjiang and for how long the oil-rich region has been part of China. The questions are important – most notably for the Chinese authorities who face an intermittent separatist movement of nationalist Uighurs, a Turkic-speaking Muslim people who number nine million in Xinjiang.

The government-approved story of China's first contact with the West dates back to 200BC when China's emperor Wu Di wanted to establish an alliance with the West against the marauding Huns, then based in Mongolia. However, the discovery of the mummies suggests that Caucasians were settled in a part of China thousands of years before Wu Di: the notion that they arrived in Xinjiang before the first East Asians is truly explosive.

Image

Xinjiang is dominated by the Uighurs, who resent what they see as intrusion by the Han Chinese. The tensions which have spilled over into violent clashes in recent years.

Whatever the reason for the Chinese decision, it has caused great disappointment at the Pennsylvania museum where the "Secrets of the Silk Road" were due to go on show after successful exhibitions in California and Texas without major reproductions.

"It's going to be the rebirth of this museum," Victor Mair, a professor of Chinese language and literature, told the Associated Press last month. "It's going to put it back on the map."

Professor Mair declined to comment on the current controversy.

Ten thousandth of ten thousand years is 1 year. He is trying to say that Chinese empires last 1 year, in a cryptic way.
