Re: Narendra Modi vs the Dynasty: Contrasting Ideas of India
Is this true? I am surprised, if this is the case, why is the sena content with just 22 seats and giving bjp 26 seats.
http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/new ... ttarget=no
Modi, however, clearly knew what he was asking for, uttering a series of figures collated from the booth level to show how much of a junior partner BJP was in Maharashtra. "Modiji was concerned that in several thousand booths where BJP contested, Sena held sway," said a source. The number of booths where Sena dominated over BJP was as high as 21,321 in 76 assembly seats which BJP won, while the party's own presence was less than half of Sena's own seats. MNS role as spoiler was also discussed, with the committee being told that about five LS seats were lost because of MNS in the last polls.
Professor Suhas Palshikar of Pune University says Modi's worries were justified, but there was precious little that the party could do under the circumstances. "A few years ago they raised the banner of going it alone, with the slogan 100% BJP. It was very apparent, very quickly, that it wouldn't work," he said. He says while a few pockets of popularity, for example in Marathwada, cultivated by Gopinath Munde exist, BJP's influence is little and too diffused. The party fantasies a scenario where BJP, Sena and MNS fight on the same side, but that looks unlikely.

Re: Narendra Modi vs the Dynasty: Contrasting Ideas of India
I think from an election point of view, namo has his task cut out. All this twitter, 9 pm tv fighting is not going to help him one bit ( i am not saying he is doing that).
He needs to fix 4 things first
1. Formally ally with yeddy or bring yeddy back to BJP (impacts bjp by at least 10 seats)
2. Ally with Marandi or bring him back (impacts BJP by at least 6 seats)
3. Strike a silent deal on seat sharing with MNS and form a BJP-SS-MNS-RPI alliance (NDA goes from 30 to 40 seats in Maharashtra)
4. In Haryana stitch a BJP-HJC-INLD alliance (Takes NDA from 2-6 seats)
These 4 things alone push NDA up by 30 seats and push UPA down by 30 seats. So thats a damn 60 seat gap to create.
Apart from this on BJP's own strength he needs to improve in UP and Bihar. Everything else is just sound bytes (IB, Israt, Rs 5 for HYD rally, Undi TV, Secularism, Burqua and the list goes on and on).

Whole INC is sponsored by the foreign powers (US-UK and/or big 3 of EU). Since their agent took over things are in harmony in aligning country to their interests be it in Social-engineering, economy, business, military. There may be some lip service of disagreements in some cases but that is just to dupe only.ramana wrote:Meanwhile INC whose entiore think tank is US based NRIs and govt agents eg. Y/I->BJP sponsorship is more of alternative the other Y supports in case things fall apart. This relationship is more in between equal powers where as the INC relationship is more to do with control.

Re: Narendra Modi vs the Dynasty: Contrasting Ideas of India
Seniors set for key jobs in BJP's Team 2014
Instead of a senior BJP team "under" Modi, the blueprint envisages each of the top leaders heading a "zonal election panel" for a particular region. This, the calculation goes, will head off rivalries between them and any attempt to take down Modi, a polarising figure but wildly popular with the rank and file.
"Every hand will have a task to accomplish even as Modi leads an aggressive campaign against the Congress," said a key party strategist.
The names under discussion between Modi and BJP chief Rajnath Singh for the plan as of late on Wednesday included Sushma Swaraj to look after the eastern zone, Arun Jaitley (western zone), Venkaiah Naidu (southern zone) and former party chief Nitin Gadkari for the northern zone including Delhi, which goes to the polls in November.
Also, senior leader Murli Manohar Joshi will head a committee that will draft the BJP's election manifesto for the Lok Sabha polls. He may be assisted by other prominent elders from the Vajpayee government between 1998 and 2004, namely Yashwant Sinha and Jaswant Singh.
A panel headed by BJP vice-president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi will look into the nitty-gritty of the campaign and election tours of Modi and other leaders. Naqvi already heads the programme implementation and coordination committee, while BJP treasurer Piyush Goel handles "resource management."
There are also plans to have committees to handle youth, publicity and social media campaigns. "The idea is to have a a team that is a blend of experienced hands and young minds to electrify the campaign," said a BJP leader.
If the details of these committees are finalised by the time the BJP parliamentary board meets on Thursday, they may be announced after all top leaders including patriarch LK Advani have given their consent.
BJP insiders said RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat has already blessed such a plan, emphasizing on the need for everyone to work together, and ensure seniors like Advani do not feel ignored. Recently, Bhagwat and other RSS leaders engaged Advani, Joshi and party president Rajnath Singh on detailed ways to ensure the party projected a united face. A summary of the Sangh's views on the issues, which came up in those discussions, were conveyed to Modi when he met Bhagwat on Tuesday.
Given the recent tension within the BJP caused by Advani's opposition to Modi's elevation, the Gujarat strongman had sought to show that he was not looking for a new team but would be working with the BJP's existing office-bearers who were picked by Rajnath Singh in March after he took over from Gadkari in January.
Modi has been involved in detailed planning involving ten general secretaries: Ananth Kumar, Amit Shah, Varun Gandhi, Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Dharmendra Pradhan, Thawarchand Gehlot, Jagat Prakash Nadda, Tapir Gao, P Muralidhar Rao and Ram Lal.
Modi, named by Rajnath Singh as BJP's campaign head on June 9, had during his interaction with BJP leaders in Bihar, Maharashtra and Odisha, asked them to focus on an aggressive campaign against the Congress rule and ways to ensure the BJP's return to power -- instead of projecting anyone, including him, as the party's prime ministerial candidate.
"Who will lead the party after elections is not important for us at this stage. Now our priority should be to ensure return of BJP to power," he told a select gathering of Odisha BJP leaders at a hotel in Puri on Tuesday.

Each of the four satraps will try to ensure maximization of MPs elected in their sector to bolster their own negotiation power. By same token they might try to undermine the rivals areas!
Only person I dont get is SS to look after the Eastern area.

Nitin gadkari should be in charge of South. What has Venkaiah done in all his time? Gadkari at least has a cool head and good for shrewd decisions.

May be they have been assigned (if report is true) zones as per desired pecking order after elections. It's well known that BJP never going to get more seats in east and south compared to west and north. But SS not getting south indicates BJP hasn't given up on Yeddi.ramana wrote:Each of the four satraps will try to ensure maximization of MPs elected in their sector to bolster their own negotiation power. South mean only Karnataka. He is good in dealing with various factions of Karnataka. All other states Tamilnadu, Kerala, Andhra, Rayalaseema and Telangana does not have any ways and means to even give a competetitve challenge beyond a total of five seats (1 in Tamilnadu, 1 in Kerala and 3 in Telangana).devesh wrote:Nitin gadkari should be in charge of South. Though Karnataka Janata Paksha (KJP) chief B.S. Yeddyurappa has been maintaining that he is averse to the idea of returning to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), on Tuesday, he almost confirmed his comeback.
During the discussion on the State Budget, Mr. Yeddyurappa admitted that a “mistake” had been committed by them (BJP leaders and himself).
In a confessional mode, he continued: “Three of us shared the power and our mistake facilitated the Congress to garner power after seven years. We have learnt a lesson and we will join hands to humble the Congress in the coming Lok Sabha elections. Have patience till then,” he said.
This outburst from Mr. Yeddyurappa and his repeated attempts to safeguard the interests of the BJP during the discussion on the budget took everyone by surprise.

Re: Narendra Modi vs the Dynasty: Contrasting Ideas of India
Modi, the latest induction into the parliamentary board, went straight from the airport around 6pm to the residence of BJP chief Rajnath Singh where the duo were scheduled to hold meetings late into the night with general secretary (organisation) Ramlal.
Ramlal is the principal conduit between the RSS and the BJP and participates in strategy sessions. It is learnt the trio are in the process of finalising the sub-committees expected to work with Modi on the BJP’s election campaign and other poll-related nitty-gritty.
The membership of the sub-committees may be announced after tomorrow’s meeting. But sources familiar with Modi’s functioning said the sub-committees were not expected to be “anything more” than mechanisms for executing the blueprint and strategies for 2014 and the preceding state polls this year.
Modi, the sources said, will have to honour one aspect of the decision to have him as the poll boss and prospective prime ministerial candidate: keep the RSS in the loop at every stage.
Without the Sangh’s nod, a source said, “he would never have got where he has in the face of opposition from those like (L.K.) Advani and Sushma (Swaraj)”.

Among all the seniors looking after 4 differentr zones-
SS in the east- not to indulge in politicking in north which is her base. also east being a little weak helps NaMo is consolidating his hold amongst masses in north who are in awe of his popularity.
SS can wreck NaMo chances in west and south hence no go areas. Advani-SS duo have pull in all zones except east.
Venkaiah will be ably assisted by NaMo aides. make no mistake about it.
AJ in west is ok. it is NaMo stronghold.
NG will be ok in north. again NaMo aides will be with him.

No recession in Congress: Hiring 50 for war room
NEW DELHI: The country may be in the grips of a severe slowdown and the job market tepid, but Congress is hiring. As election fever heats up, the Grand Old Party is out there in the market, looking to hire at least 40-50 people adept in media and messaging to man its 'war room' located at 15 Gurudwara Rakabganj Road in Delhi.
"The party is looking to hire staff just for the elections. People who are familiar with technology and politics, journalists, techies and researchers to keep up with not just old media, but also new media platforms," said one Congress office bearer.
The job description: researching parliamentary constituencies, issues occupying voters' minds and closely monitoring what is going viral on the internet.
The war room, traditionally a military descriptor for a secure room where battle strategies are discussed and so called in the Congress context because it was the site of several strategy sessions during the last general elections, is also undergoing a makeover, with corporate style office space being created to accommodate the new recruits.
Deepender Hooda, Congress MP from Haryana, has been deputed by AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi to oversee the exercise, although senior leaders such as Ahmed Patel, AK Antony, Digvijaya Singh, and Jairam Ramesh will be actively involved in the strategy sessions.
The tendering process for technology upgrades at the war room has been initiated. I&B minister Manish Tewari confirmed that technology upgradation was underway, but played down talk that the party had set aside a sum of Rs 100 crore for the exercise. Congress, which has lagged behind the BJP in leveraging social media for electoral impact in the past, is getting help from experts.

MP: Funds meant to feed poor children being diverted to private firms
Bhopal: Against the backdrop of the Bihar mid day meal tragedy, a CNN-IBN investigation has revealed how the Madhya Pradesh government diverted funds meant to feed poor children to private companies by forging documents and registering fake companies.
Deepu of Shivpuri and Kabir from Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's Budhni Assembly constituency are suffering from severe malnutrition and are among the 52 per cent of the 80 lakh malnourished children who live in rural areas. CNN-IBN has learnt that they are victims of a Rs 500 crore bureaucrat-businessmen nexus.

^^^ The correct reaction would be to find out if there is any truth in the reports. There have several reports of scams in MP coming out time to time. Had written a couple days aback about the famous IAS couple living in govt accommodation in MP. Hubby was in Vajpayee's Defense Ministry. Shivraj has a complex vis-a-vis Modi and likes to proclaim that Advani is his tallest leader.

^^ Last year's tactics have grown way too old. Desi pols have watched and evolved defences against last year's attacks. Trying to use LKA camp to oust BSY won't work in MP. Chouhan can well see the after effects of BSY's revolt, ouster and polls. Even then, C-system had to obtain a conviction from court against BSY before wheels began to move.
