Poilievre wants a free press not a Trudeau funded media

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8UKiL7remis

Google Summary
In the video, Pierre Poilievre, a Canadian politician from Conservative Party of Canada, expresses his disagreement on giving tax dollars to the mainstream media. He believes that media should be driven by readership, viewership and listenership and that's what allows it to represent the Canadian people rather than taking marching orders from the pmo.

Here are the key points:

Pierre Poilievre says his party does not support tax dollars for media because it leads to biased media.
He believes media should be driven by readership, viewership and listenership.
He criticizes Justin Trudeau for giving tax dollars to Bell Media to supposedly protect media jobs but ended up laying off all the employees.
He says the real reason for Justin Trudeau to give tax dollars to the media was to buy support from them.
I hope this summary is helpful!

They also spoke about India & the importance of upholding - and respecting - the rule of law.

Understanding Canada's Geopolitical Relations - featuring Daniel Bordman

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sDNKXW-JTeA

Google summary
The video is about Canada's geopolitical relations, specifically focusing on the relationship between Canada and India. The speaker, Daniel Bordman, discusses the upcoming Indian general election and the potential impact of the results on Canada-India relations.

Bordman believes that the Modi government is likely to win a significant majority in the upcoming election, which will give them the political capital to make major decisions. He also believes that the current Canadian government, led by Justin Trudeau and Jagmeet Singh, is antagonistic towards India for a variety of reasons. This, he argues, will likely lead to a deterioration in Canada-India relations in the short term.

However, Bordman also believes that there is hope for a better relationship in the long term. He points to the fact that the Conservative Party of Canada is more likely to take a pro-India stance than the current Liberal government. Additionally, he believes that the growing economic ties between Canada and India will eventually lead to a closer relationship between the two countries.

Overall, the video provides a critical perspective on Canada-India relations. Bordman is critical of the current Canadian government's approach to India, but he is also optimistic about the long-term prospects for the relationship.

Canada's state mouthpiece CBC and its top "investigative news" program have interviewed Pannu, Nijjar's family and other Khalistanis, while portraying them and the rest of Khalistan movement in a sympathetic light, and India as an oppressor:

I feel like every time there's a Chinese spy scandal in Canada, then suddenly a new "exposé" or "documentary" against India is quickly released from Canadian govt circies.

It's called "managing the headlines" or "managing the news cycle"

In order to get China's wrongdoing out of the Canadian news headlines, then insert the Indian villain in its place

Repeated occurrences tell me that the timing isn't coincidental.

^^^ Around minute 27 they insinuate that India was responsible for Ripudaman Singh Malik's death. If you remember, the Khalistanis were upset at R.S. Malik's public letter appreciative of PM Modi.
And according to the unsealed US murder indictment, he {Nijjar} was one of the top targets on the Indian government's Canadian hit list. So, who were the three other unnamed targets described as being of greater value to India than Nijjar in that unsealed indictment?

There may be clues in the murder of another Sikh killed in Canada the year before, 2022. Ripudaman Singh Malik, a man acquitted in the 1985 Air India bombings, was shot dead yesterday in what police believe was a targeted killing.

[Bob] Moninder Singh is spokesperson for the BC Gurdwaras Council. He knows the Malik family well.

I think there is definitely within the community more of an inclination towards that this also was the hand of the Indian, uh, government through their intelligence operatives.

[Sgt. David Lee] We understand this is a high-profile international story. However, we urge... not to speculate as to the motive, as our homicide investigators will be following the evidence.

[Bob] Two weeks after Malik's death, police announced they had charged two men, who have pleaded not guilty. Trial is set for October. Malik's family declined to be interviewed about the murder.

Malik's eldest son, Jaspreet: I have in the past been critical of certain members of the RCMP and the way they handled the Air India investigation. But that's not who's doing this investigation. The people doing this investigation, I have full faith. They're properly trained, they know what they're doing. They'll find whoever did this.

[Bob] Air India Flight 182 from Vancouver to London was blown up over the Atlantic Ocean on June 23rd, 1985. Jaspreet Malik's father was one of two men tried and acquitted in that bombing.

And consider this: The Fifth Estate obtained access to Malik's WhatsApp account from the night before he was killed. It shows three calls from an iPhone with an Indian telephone number, one belonging to a former consular officer at the Indian Consulate in Vancouver. A copy of Malik's personal journal shows he had a meeting scheduled at 10:00 a.m. the next morning with someone with the same first name as that former consular officer. However, at 9:30, half an hour before the scheduled meeting, Malik was shot to death in the parking lot of his family business.

The Indian High Commission in Ottawa declined to speak with us. But Malik's death isn't the only thing that's triggered fear India is targeting Canadian Sikhs.
What I have:
July 27, 2022 : Tanner Fox, 21, and Jose Lopez, 23 charged with murder of Malik.
May 27, 2023: Tanner Fox charged with the with second-degree murder in the death of Chad Colivas, 41, of Abbotsford (March 21, 2022).

The trial in the Malik case is set for October 2024. Under Canadian laws, no details have been released and there is a black-out on reporting court proceedings. There have been no statements on the motive for the murder of Malik or on who might have hired Fox and Lopez.

The new detail in the Fifth Estate youtube is that the Indian consulate was talking to Malik.

It's just like the wicked games Canadian media played after 1985 Air India bombing -- they likewise tried to insinuate that India bombed its own airliner
(just like Russia bombing its own pipeline).

To them, we're children of lesser gods, so they're happy to sh!t all over us, because they feel we'll accept it.

We have to show them that we won't accept it, by doing something make them regret it. Otherwise, like a schoolyard bully, they won't stop.

Canada’s descent into tyranny is almost complete
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is threatening his most tyrannical attack on freedom yet through his government’s proposed Online Harms Act (currently Bill C-63). Brought to you by the same farcically-named “Liberal” party who froze the bank accounts of the truckers who protested vaccine-mandates, the OHA is the government’s overzealous attempt to promote online safety.

The proposed legislation supposedly achieves this by requiring operators of social media services to adequately mitigate the risk that their users will be exposed to harmful content through measures such as publishing standards of online conduct, providing blocking tools and ways to flag and label harmful content. The OHA would create a Digital Safety Commission to administer and enforce its rules along with a Digital Safety Office to support social media users and advocate for online safety. These agencies can investigate complaints, summon people to testify in hearings and to produce records. Costs of all this will be paid by unspecified charges on social media platforms, presumably contemplating Canada’s planned Digital Services Tax on big tech platforms.

Most controversially, the OHA’s provisions on posting hateful content would require amendments to Canada’s Criminal Code as well as its Human Rights Act. While the victims of online “hate” may be comforted by tough new penalties, the changes are radical, particularly a new hate crime offence which can lead to life imprisonment. Worryingly, the criminal provisions of the OHA would give judges the ability to put people under house arrest because they might commit a hate crime in the future. The potential criminal could also be made to wear an electronic tag if the Attorney General requests it.

....

In seeking to do this via wide ranging, vaguely-articulated duties and draconian enforcement provisions, the OHA is as good as an example of a supercharged nanny-statism which can be conceivably envisioned in a notionally free country. It is an idea pushed by the same power-drunk politicians who took over our lives during the pandemic. If enacted, the result would be an Orwellian nightmare of restrictions on making or consuming online content – stifling the culture of debate and discussion that is protected by Canada’s Charter of Rights and Freedoms, the now-hollow Article 2 on Freedom of Expression. That freedom is rightly subject to “reasonable limits,” but these have been pushed by OHA beyond their breaking point to the detriment of the society which they were constructed to serve.
Added: the legislation can be seen here:

Alarming article; I was blissfully unaware of this.

https://www.theglobeandmail.com/opinion ... try-after/

Among the richer countries, we are on course to being one of the poorer.

The picture is particularly distressing when you compare where we are with our nearest neighbour. As of 1981, per capita GDP in Canada was 92 per cent of that of the U.S.; by 2022 it had fallen to just 73 per cent. Drill down into the national data and it looks even worse. The economist Trevor Tombe has shown that Canada’s richest province, Alberta, would rank 14th among U.S. states. The poorest five provinces now rank among the six poorest jurisdictions in North America. Ontario ranks just ahead of Alabama. British Columbia is poorer than Kentucky.

This may explain why more permanent residents are eschewing formal Canadian citizenship. And why my great Italian car mechanic chose to return to Italy.

This is not the Canada we immigrated to. This is the Canada that the low skilled are flocking to. Perhaps that is why high skilled Britons and Indians fly over us on their way to the US.

The question is how can this sinking to the bottom be reversed? High technology training, lower business taxes and recruiting educated people from China and India are the only solutions I can see.

Canada's approach has been a virtually unregulated immigration of people who will NOT vote Conservative. Canada is become Panjab.
