Time was not wasted. According to old punjabis from LaWhore who still sing this mantra "if you haven't seen Lahore, you haven't even been born". The entire flight got a taste of LaWhore and are now "reborn". Thanks to Vipinji (and Sushmaji).

Anup Misra- ji :
I endorse your thoughts cent per cent . It is a well known saying that "you cannot "own" an Afghan", you can only "rent" one . The Americans also, IMO, are finding it the hard way . They have spends billions in Afghanistan and nothing to show for it ! All gone down the "corruption way" . Bazaar rumour has it that Karzai and his extended family have also partaken in the Amreeki largesse . And now he is criticizing the USA !!! And look at Hekmatyar, once an ISI stooge, now ostensibly an " Afghan Nationalist " ( IMO, he is still craving for an Islamic Emirate along Taliban lines !) . So, there are very few men of principles there !

Imran "Feeling The Heat " From The Tyrian White Affair In His Own Back Yard

Tyrian White issue: IHC bench on Imran Khan disqualification dissolved for third time
ISLAMABAD : A bench of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) formed to hear a petition seeking disqualification of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan dissolved for the third time on Thursday. The newly-formed bench, comprising Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui and Justice Athar Minallah, broke after the latter recused himself from hearing the case. The case has been filed by Abdul Wahab Baloch, a member of Justice and Democratic party which is led by former chief justice Iftikhar Chaudhry, asking the court to disqualify Khan for concealing his alleged daughter Tyrian Jade White in the nomination papers for July 25 elections.
Justice Athar Minallah said that he has been linked with Iftikhar Chaudhry, therefore, he could not hear the case. Now, the matter has been referred to chief justice of the high court, who would form a new bench. The new bench was formed after the former bench comprising Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb had recused itself from hearing the case following the petitioner’s objections.
The petitioner had argued that the case was earlier fixed before Justice Siddiqui and Justice Farooq but later the former was excluded from the bench by appointing Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb.
The petitioner had filed an appeal in the high court on June 2 against the acceptance of Imran Khan’s nomination papers from NA-243, Karachi, stating that Khan was not Sadiq and Ameen anymore because he had failed to mention Tyrian White as his daughter in his nomination papers.
He also pleaded the court that Imran Khan, the incoming prime minister of Pakistan, should be disqualified under Article 62 of the Constitution. At the start, Justice Shaukat Siddiqui heard the case and summoned Imran Khan on Aug 1. However, the bench was reconstituted which also on Aug 2 recused itself from hearing the case.

Obviously, The Khan cannot be classified as "Sadiq and Ameen" , if you folllow the rules. !! Too much is at stake here !! . Can anyone, seriously imagine that Imran Khan ( the current poster boy of Deep State ) will be removed from MNA ship and PM ship , just because he sired a child out of wedlock . And the Deep State is "out to get" Justice Shaukat Siddiqi as well . Ever since, he turned "rogue" , he has been making lots of embarrassing noises about Paki justice, corruption etc etc

Kirket To Bring Us Together

Imran discusses Kashmir issue in crucial huddle with Indian High Commissioner
ISLAMABAD – India’s High commissioner to Pakistan, Ajay Bisaria met Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Friday, days before he is poised to take oath as prime minister of the country.
The meeting comes as Imran Khan in his victory speech expressed a desire to develop a peaceful relationship between the countries. Matters of mutual interest, including evolving a joint strategy to improve bilateral ties, were discussed in the meeting attended by PTI leaders including Shireen Mazari, Fawad Chaudhry, Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Naeemul Haque.
The official also presented a special bat to PTI chief bearing signatures of Indian Cricket team during his meeting at the Bani Gala residence.
So, the "cricket bat" brought Immy to power. And the same bat has now been "assigned" the task of bringing "peace" between the two neighbours . Too much is being placed on the "head of the bat" IMO
According to Shireen Mazari, Imran Khan stressed the need for resolution of Kashmir issue adding that the PM-elect also expressed the hope that the SAARC Summit would be held soon in Islamabad.
Image
Shireen-ji's Jalebi's attire and hair-do in this photu looks "almost normal"
Earlier, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Imran Khan and congratulated him for his party emerging as the largest party in the National Assembly of Pakistan in the recently conducted general elections, an official statement said. :((
On July 26, Khan made a victory speech in which he highlighted his future plan regarding the foreign policy of Pakistan.
Talking about India, he said: “I think it will be very good for all of us if we have good relations with India. We need to have trade ties, and the more we will trade, both countries will benefit. The unfortunate truth is that Kashmir is a core issue, and the situation in Kashmir, and what the people of Kashmir have seen in the last 30 years …. they have really suffered.
The Khan is going to "personally pump up" the Core Problem in his UN debut address. Many objective observers have noted the world's dis-interest in this non-issue. So, Imran has a "huge task" ahead of him
Pakistan and India’s leadership should sit at a table and try to fix this problem. It’s not going anywhere. We are at square one right now [with India]. If India’s leadership is ready, we are ready to improve ties with India. If you step forward one step, we will take two steps forward.I say this with conviction, this will be the most important thing for the subcontinent, for both countries to have friendship.”
. I would go one step further and opine that Imran's pipe dream of Naya Pakistan ( which includes an so-called Islamic Welfare State !) is not "going anywhere", unless he cooperates with India, on India's terms

Paki F.O. Preaches To Indian Media

‘Grow up’, Pakistan’s foreign office to Indian media over anti-Imran campaign
ISLAMABAD – Foreign Office spokesperson Dr Muhammad Faisal on Thursday said the Indian media needs to “grow up” while responding to the neighbouring country’s criticism of PM-in waiting Imran Khan.
Since the PTI chairman’s landslide victory in last month’s general elections, Indian media has launched a campaign against cricket-turned-politician with several Indian media outlets claiming that victory of Imran Khan can create serious problems for India in the region.
A similar campaign was orchestrated by Paki Deep State and Paki media, when Modi-ji won a landslide victory, ( and still the mudslinging against him is not over !) yet, the Indian Foreign Office, was mature enough , not to comment on this .!
Going step ahead, they accused Imran Khan of using anti-Indian slogans to garner support for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). They further accused that 65-year-old politician supports banned militant outfits. Worried by his possible victory, Indian channels tagged Khan as ‘Taliban Khan’.
The moniker of "Taliban Khan" assigned to Imran is not new !
“India is involved in stoking terrorism in different parts of Pakistan and the arrest of Kulbushan Yadav is ample evidence in this regard.” Dr Faisal said in response to another question.
No matter , that Yadav was "purchased" by Paki Deep State, from their "contractors" after he was kidnapped, if media reports are to be believed !!
“I was saddened in the last few days, how the media in India portrayed me as a Bollywood film villain. It seemed like India feared everything bad would happen if Imran Khan came into power. I am the Pakistani who has the most familiarity with India, I have been all over that country,” Imran Khan had said in his victory speech last month.
( If Reham's book is to be believed, there are at least two to three "little Imrans" floating around in India at this time. )
Responding to a question, the spokesperson rejected as ‘baseless’ Afghan officials’ allegations that elements from Pakistan were involved in a recent terror attack in Ghazni. “There is no evidence to back up the spurious accusations,” he said.
“Pakistan has always supported an Afghan led and Afghan owned peace process and it will welcome any ceasefire agreement between the parties there,” Dr Faisal asserted. :((
The concept of plausible deniability can always be used in such situations :D

Mil-biz Spreading Its Wings Further Into The Entrails Of Paki Business Dom . Ayesha Siddiqa Should Take "Due Note "

Defence exhibition ‘SAVDEX 2018’ from August 16
LAHORE – Defence Export Promotion Organisation (DEPO), in collaboration with the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI), is organising the first of its kind ‘Suppliers and Vendors Defence Exhibition’ (SAVDEX 2018) from August 16 to 18 at Lahore Expo Centre. It was announced by Brig Waheed Imtiaz and President LCCI Malik Tahir Javaid at a press conference at LCCI on Monday.
The military is venturing "everywhere" where they can make "easy money", just by dropping their so-called hallowed name (they lost the last war with India and that cost them half of their own country , but still no one dare question them !) . Bakra Eid is coming up shortly . And they will be making "more money" by supervising the Bakra Eid Cattle Market In Karachi , thus jacking up the price of cows, goats, sheeps, and camels ( all considered halal animals ) for the Aam Abduls by providing so called "security and organization", although doing not a single thing in the process ( all sub contracting out and collecting commissions and thus increasing the prices !)

The Auditor General Of Pakistan Dares To Publicly Confirm That The Disgraced National Airline Of Pakistan ( PIA) Is A "Bottomless Pit "

AGP Finds Serious Irregularities in Govt Funding Towards PIA
August 15, 2018
Auditor General of Pakistan (AGP) has pointed out serious discrepancies in the government’s bailout and guarantee loans provided to Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) during the last nine years. On AGP’s complaint regarding the matter, the airline management has taken action against its Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Nothing is likely to happen to the CFO, if he can invoke "higher sifarish" . The case will just die down. And it has happened in the past as well . !!!!

Another PTI "Leader" Starts Exercising His "Authority" In Karachi

VIDEO: Another Karachi PTI leader allegedly involved in brawl, vandalism
Aug 16, 2018
Pakistan Today
As Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) suspended the membership of Imran Ali Shah after a video of him thrashing a man in Karachi went viral, a video of another member of the party started doing the rounds on the social media on Thursday. The video circulating on the social media shows PTI leader Mansoor Ahmad Sheikh along with his cousin Malir Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Munir Sheikh torturing and abusing the staff members of a showroom. A tweet by a social media user claimed: “PTI’s Mansoor Ahmad Sheikh vandalizes Honda Showroom with the help of his cousin SSP Malir Munir Sheikh, tortured and abused the staff members. Reports suggest that an amount of PKR 7 Million was also stolen and 5 employees were kidnapped. #TabdeeliStarts”.
Naya Pakistan anyone
Meanwhile, PTI supporter Awab Alvi defended Sheikh stating: “Another video making rounds against PTI – easy to spin one side of the story based on propaganda Do look at how the Councillor was pacifying the issue – the OWNER of the showroom attacked the OTHER PERSON Don’t fall for propaganda merely because PTI is the viral term these days”.
Of course, there are two sides to any brawl, and the "truth" may be like finding a needle in a haystack. But no question. Once you are elected, power automatically goes to your head !!!

Confirmation That Bakra Eid Needs More Than 3 Days For "Celebrations" In Pakiland

Eidul Azha at hometowns? ‘Only’ three holidays disappoints settlers
Some natives were expecting holidays from Tuesday till Friday
- In Pakistan , a national holiday is declared if Pakiland wins a cricket match against (dushman) India
-Paki media just reported that the FATF "watch dog" Team sent to Isloo were disappointed with the written answers they got from the Pakistani Team ( to their earlier sent questions ) . The Paki Team complained that Pakistan is "transiting" to "democracy" and this was NOT the right time for FATF Team to visit them. (Although the questions and the meeting time, was fixed months in advance !)
-Chinese and NOKO missiles, Chinese rocketry and satellites, and also Chinese fighter planes are "openly" claimed as indigenous , although every Abdul knows that it a "assemble job and paint " at the most .
- At this rate, Imran's Naya Pakistan is likely to remain a "pipe dream"

PS: The rich Arabs can have all the fun, because they have "black gold" . For them, there is some sort of a "free lunch", although even Saudia now , under the brash MBS is now asking the local natives to do "some work" to earn their keep. But Pakis cannot afford to take that route . Although once in a while, some "fake" news is being fed to them about the "richest gold find in the whole wide world" or "larger than Kuwait oil reserves". Just to keep their spirits high

Under CPEC, it is estimated that nearly 10 million Chinese will come & stay in Pakistan...and make their own "China Towns".
CPEC is also NOT an investment. Its a loan & now Chinese are demanding share in all Pak Govt organizations as we cannot pay back debt.

Foreign exchange: SBP's reserves decrease $216.5m to $10.15b - By Our Correspondent

KARACHI: Foreign exchange reserves held by the central bank decreased 2.09% on a weekly basis, according to data released on Thursday.

On August 10, the foreign currency reserves held by the SBP were recorded at $10,152.6 million, down $216.5 million compared with $10,369.1 million in the previous week.

The decrease in reserves has been attributed to external debt servicing and other official payments.

Overall, liquid foreign reserves held by the country, including net reserves held by banks other than the SBP, stood at $16,712.8 million. Net reserves held by banks amounted to $6,560.2 million.

Two weeks ago, China reportedly agreed to immediately give a loan of $2 billion to Pakistan, a move meant to arrest the slide in foreign currency reserves and provide much-needed breathing space to the new government.

Of the agreed amount, $1 billion had already been transferred to the central bank account. According to officials in the Ministry of Finance, the loan would be categorised as official bilateral inflow.

Earlier, the reserves had dipped to an alarmingly low level at $9.06 billion, forcing the central bank to let the rupee depreciate massively on four separate occasions since December 2017, and sparking concerns about the country’s ability to finance a hefty import bill and meet debt obligations in coming months.

In April, the SBP’s reserves had increased $593 million due to official inflows.

A few months ago, the foreign currency reserves surged due to official inflows including $622 million from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and $106 million from the World Bank. The SBP also received $350 million under the Coalition Support Fund (CSF).

In January, the SBP made a $500-million loan repayment to the State Administration of Foreign Exchange (SAFE), China.

Pakistan also raised $2.5 billion in November 2017 by floating dollar-denominated bonds in the international market in a bid to shore up official reserves.

SSridhar Ji :

AAA : I refer you to the following Article After debt repayments in coming months, SBP’s own net reserves will be a mere $4.5 billion and I give below the pertinent portions :
1. As of November 2017, the SBP’s official foreign currency reserves were $12.66 billion including $5.8 billion worth of currency swaps and forward contracts. Despite showing $5.8 billion as part of its own reserves, the SBP has also included the same amount in the total $6.01 billion reserves held by commercial banks.
2.“This is clearly double counting of $5.8 billion. In principle, it should have excluded this sum from the commercial banks’ reserves,” said Dr Ashfaque Hasan Khan, former director general of Debt of Ministry of Finance.
3. In 1998, the then PML-N government had consumed foreign currency deposits of commercial banks after global powers imposed sanctions on Pakistan in retaliation to nuclear bomb explosions. However, to protect depositors’ reserves, the central bank had started separately reporting both the official and private currency reserves.
Herewith Latest Position - on 10-08-2018 - of Terroristan's Foreign Exchange Reserves :

Some Pakistanis are beginning to see the matrix. The deprogramming is by stealth promoted by access to information and the fact that India has risen to its knees. The latter fact can not be reconciled with the previously agreed fictions of their foundational theology.

Will Immy "Touch" Israel

Will Imran Khan change Pakistan's stance toward Israel?
The News International
Aug 3, 2018
Much has been written in national and international press about Imran Khan's address to the nation since his party won majority in the parliament in July 25 election.Media outlets at home and abroad ran editorials and analyses on what Khan's victory means for his country and the world at large.
The part of his first address that was discussed in international media was Pakistan's foreign policy and his plans to foster relations with other nations especially neighboring countries.
Although Pakistan does not recognize Israel, the media in the Jewish state has also reported developments in Pakistan since July 25 elections
In an analysis published in the Times of Israel, an author questioned whether Pakistan's new leader will be any different from his predecessors when it comes to Islamic Republic's relations with the Jewish state. Written by Charles Dunst, the article gave complete profile of the Pakistani leader, highlighting his career as sportsman and a politician. The author also discussed the allegations Imran Khan has long faced about his connection to Jewish lobby after his marriage to Jemima Khan.
So, Maulana Diesel was not incorrect when he said that Imran has "connections" to the powerful Zionist Lobby !
The author thinks Imran is less critical of Isreal than many other leaders in the Muslim world. The analyst interpreted one of Khan's tweet from 2011 as an apparent repudiation of anti-Semitism. “Just as questioning the holocaust is painful to the Jews, & we respect this, so abuse of the Prophet (PBUH) is even more painful to Muslims” the author referred to this tweet of Khan which he had sent out to condemn blasphemy.
Alluding to Khushid Kasuri's 2005 meeting with Israeli counterpart Silvan Shalom in Istanbol, the writer questioned whether Khan would build on this relations or follow Saudi Arabia which seems to have softened its stance towards Tel Aviv. The analyst also quotes, Hussain Haqqani, the former Pakistani ambassador to Washington, saying “His (Imran Khan's )political stance has been anti-Israel.Given his own Islamic-nationalist rhetoric, I do not see Imran Khan as the man who would reach out to Israel on behalf of Pakistan. But miracles can always happen.".
There is always the option that Imran could "use" Jemima as a secret back channel to Israel and Nathanyahu
Arguing that Israel is open to establishing relation with Pakistan, the author presented Isreali prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu speech in which he rebuked claims that his country's relationship with India is in any way a threat to Pakistan.“We are not enemies of Pakistan and Pakistan should not be our enemy either,” Netanyahu told reporters," the Israeli PM was quoted as saying at an event in India last year.“Negative perceptions of Israel by some in Pakistan, and Israel’s close partnership with India, may impose some limits on what is possible,” he cautioned. “But that doesn’t mean quiet ties based on security cooperation or access to Israeli technology are out of the question.
But can the Pakis "trust" Israel based on what The Book says about the stereotyping of yahoodis
“They can provide important mutual benefits even before establishing official relations is possible," Daniel Shapiro, the former US ambassador to Israel is reported as having said .
. Getting needed Israeli Technology in agriculture, security , water conservation etc etc in secret is fine , ( maybe Saudia is doing the same !) but to openly discuss these options in Pakiland, would be political suicide for Imran and his PTI Party . Pakis are not yet ready for the modern world where religion and politics do not mix. Unless Saudi becomes "openly normal" with Israel, then Pakiland will follow suit

This aspect of Imran's "Naya Pakistan" obviously does not go well for his supporters IMO

This is a country which wants a (paid) holiday on flimsy pretenses : Pakiland wins a fluke cricket match against (dushman) India OR
Pakistan becomes the First Islamic Atomi Takat OR
a senile Saudi Monarch suddenly dies ( the mai-baap factor !)

This (Old ) Farticle In A Paki Sarkari Newspaper May Well Explain Twitter's Battle With Pakiland . It Is The "Echendee Factor" All Over Again

Twitter India governs and apply “Indian Law” to Twitter handles in Pakistan
Daily Pakistan
Nov 21, 2017
In the 21st century, Internet has undoubtedly become a very important part of our life. Technology and Internet are shaping our opinions, for good or for ill. The right of free expression is one of the most positive aspects of digital age, however, it can also be used in a negative way. Thus, every digital platform introduced its own set of policies to tackle the negativity; however, sometimes these policies could prove to be the biggest hurdle in free expression.
The tech giants Twitter and Facebook have divided its operations around the world into regions. Though this sounds convenient to control the operations, the division has raised some concerns in Pakistan, since Twitter India and Facebook India administrate the Facebook profiles and Twitter handles in Pakistan.
India is "leader" in one I.T. ( Information Technology ) Pakistan is the leader in the other I.T. (aka International Terrorism)
Although both Twitter and Facebook claim to be all in for digital freedom and digital rights, the complication in this particular matter is that Twitter India and Facebook India are both registered in India and are bound by the law of India.
Since the two are bound by the law of Indian government, their terms are conditions are largely shaped according to the law of India. Thus, it concerns citizens of Pakistan how their opinions, tweets and posts will be treated under the situation since the two countries are arch enemies. The citizens of two countries have different narratives, different concepts of patriotism and different perspectives when it comes to Kashmir. The "core issue" raked up again
According to Indian law, you can’t post things which appear to be anti-state. Since the policies of two tech giants are largely influenced by the state’s law thus, it will lead to the removal of any post/tweet which may criticize the Indian government. For instance, tweets or posts against atrocities carried out by India in Kashmir may be considered as against Twitter or Facebook’s policies now and appropriate steps would be taken by the tech companies against the account holder. :((
A practical example of this influence was seen in July 2017, when Facebook removed all posts related to Burhan Wani and Kashmir, suspended accounts and pages talking about Burhan Wani and Kashmir.
Although ‘Internet Governing Laws’ don’t allow the digital platforms to develop their policies according to one country’s law, however, the removal of these posts and suspension of pages indicate that Twitter and Facebook’s policies are largely influenced by Indian Law.
The = = notion once again !!
Moreover, the absence of Pakistan and the active participation of Indian Parliment in developing the policies of Twitter India, which are going to be applicable in Pakistan equally, has raised concerns in Pakistan. Keeping in mind the rivalry between Pakistan and India, maybe it’s better to place Pakistan in a different region to ensure freedom of expression and minimize biases.
Pakistan "likes" to believe that it is closer to Middle East "culture" due to the same religion . Maybe, it could request that it be paired with Twitter Saudia or Twitter Iran or Twitter Kuwait , if there are such groupings !!!

Madame Jalebi As Defence Minister Is Not A Sure Thing Yet

Expected federal ministers in new government of PTI
Aug 16, 2018
Dunya News
(Web Desk) – As it is highly probable that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will be forming the next government in Pakistan, speculations are being made by every stakeholder concerning the possible ministers in the federal cabinet. Imran Khan for sure is going to be the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shah Mehmood Qureshi the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Asad Umar Minister for Finance, and Syed Fakhar Imam Minister for Food and Agriculture.
On the other side, for Interior Ministry, names of Pervez Khattak, Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad, and Shafqat Mehmood are under consideration. For Ministry of Defence, Shireen Mazari is the favorite candidate. Vice Chairman of PTI Shah Mehmood Qureshi has shown interest in having his son Zain Qureshi Minister of State. nepotism, Naya Pakistan style
Interestingly, for the post of Interior Ministry, there seems to be a tough competition between Pervez Khattak and Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad and the prior seems to be quite favorable. According to sources, owing to multiple candidates for this post, Imran Khan is considering to have this post for himself. In that case, Pervez Khattak will be awarded with Ministry of Defence.
Randi- baaz Rashid in the running for Interior
Ali Haider Zaidi has asked for the Ministry of Information Technology. Farrukh Habib can become State Minister for Water and Electricity or Minister for Provincial Harmony. Party’s sources are of the view that there are ample chances that Fawad Chaudhry will be awarded with Ministry of Information and Broad Casting.
Imran is PTI and PTI is Imran. It is the Kaptaan who will decide !!!
Every such and other decision will be made by Imran Khan himself. :D Party’s session has been called and the names for crucial posts like these and others including CM Punjab will soon be announced. There are other members of party too, including Makhdoom Khushro Bakhtiyar, Ghulam Sarwar Khan, Umer Ayub, Ali Amin Gandapur, Tahir Sadiq, Murad Saeed, Azam Swati, Ramesh Kumar, Amir Liaquat Hussain and Shahriyar Afridi, who are expected to be included in federal cabinent.
His Party got elected by the biradari votes of these powerful "electables". Now he will have to return the favours to them by making them ministers ( these "electables" may have promised a lot of things to their constituents to get elected , so they will BE disappointed if not made Ministers !) Wonder, where Naya Pakistan fits into all of this . Seems to me, the same old, same old game
People across Pakistan are observing PTI’s politics very diligently. They voted for change instead of same old, conservative politics that just brought feudalism and nepotism in every institution including in federal and provincial cabinets. Khan’s cabinet should be as small as possible without compromising the quality in performing national duties. The principle of austerity should be applied everywhere in true letter and spirit. Only this way, Kaptaan and his team can live up to nation’s expectations.
Seems like the Aam Abduls have again been taken for a ride :D . And there will be "hell to pay" if Jalebi is sidelined . She has stuck with Immy in good and bad times . And she is expecting something in return (politically speaking onlee)

Australian Senator compares Muslims with 'poisonous jelly beans', calls for 'final solution'

Anning, from the conservative Katter''s Australian Party, advocated a return to White Australia policy and called for migration bans on Muslims in his speech in Parliament on Tuesday.

Australian Senator Fraser Anning on Wednesday compared Muslims with "poisonous jelly beans", following his "racist" maiden speech in the Senate seeking immigration restrictions based on race.

Anning, from the conservative Katter's Australian Party, advocated a return to White Australia policy and called for migration bans on Muslims in his speech in Parliament on Tuesday.

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull joined other politicians and community leaders in criticizing the Queensland Senator for suggesting a "final solution" (the phrase that refers to a plan hatched by Nazis to annihilate the Jews) to the immigration "problem".

Turnbull said Anning made "a shocking insult to the memory" of those murdered in the Holocaust.

Following his controversial speech, Anning targeted Muslims once again in an interview to a Sydney talkback radio.

"Look, if you can tell me which ones are not going to cause us harm, then fine, that'd be great. But unfortunately if you have a jar of jelly beans and three of them are poisonous, you're not going to try any of them," he told Alan Jones of radio 2GB, while referring to Muslims.

Anning insisted that Muslims should be stopped from entering Australia. "I'm afraid that the Muslims, as a group, there's going to be three or four or five per cent that are going to mean us harm.

"Because I can't tell who's who, I think the safest thing for Australians is that we don't have any of them," he said.

Earlier in his Parliament speech, Anning said: "The record of Muslims who have already come to this country in rates of crime, welfare dependency and terrorism is the worst of any migrants and vastly exceeds any other immigrant groups."

"We have black African Muslim gangs terrorising Melbourne. We have Islamic State-sympathizing Muslims trying to go overseas to fight for it. While all Muslims are not terrorists, certainly all terrorists these days are Muslims," he said while urging for a plebiscite to decide who enters Australia.

Several Australian parliamentarians denounced the speech as "disgraceful" and called on Anning to apologize for his choice of words.

Muslim MP Anne Aly said that the Queensland Senator deliberately used "neo-Nazi, white supremacist terminology".

"That was a deliberate use of a heinous word that brings back so many painful memories and sets a precedent for the future of our country that we need to stand up and stop it," said a tearful Aly in Parliament.

"I'm tired of fighting. I'm tired of having to stand up against hate, against vilification, time and time again."

Besides Muslims, Anning also targeted international students as he asked for an "end to Australian-job-stealing 457 visas" and "force international students to return to their country of origin once they finish their education".

He also sought the number of student visas to be cut drastically. India is the second largest source of international students after China.

Pakistan should ‘renegotiate’ some CPEC terms, agreements - Bilal Memon

KARACHI: Islamabad should renegotiate some of the terms and agreements under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), the country’s business community says, as the new government prepares to tackle economic challenges and the pressure to reap benefits of the multi-billion dollar project.

CPEC is part of China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and involves billions of dollars worth of energy and infrastructure projects including the development of Gwadar Port in Balochistan, arguably Pakistan’s most neglected and underdeveloped province. While the previous government hailed and sold the project as a ‘game-changer’, onlookers as well as stakeholders feel details of the agreements under CPEC remain opaque, raising questions on the extent of the benefit to Pakistan and the simultaneous debt burden on the South Asian economy.

With the country’s economic managers now facing a headache over the balance of payments’ position amid depleting foreign currency reserves, the business community feels this would be the right time to revisit some of the finer details of CPEC agreements as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) government prepares to take over to navigate the way forward.

“There is a need to renegotiate returns of power producers,” Ehsan Malik, chief executive of the Pakistan Business Council (PBC), told The Express Tribune. “The question needs to be asked if the new government can sustain this (high guaranteed returns).”

Under the framework agreement, Pakistan has set up a revolving fund and is required to deposit 22% of the value of power generated by CPEC energy projects to protect Chinese companies from the adverse effects of inter-corporate circular debt.

On the issue of investments and loans extended by Beijing and Chinese companies, Malik said Pakistan needs to make realistic projections and compile a comprehensive record of financial flows in a centralised manner to understand its debt burden and address its sustainability concerns. “There have been no projections and very little transparency. A financial close for the next 10 years needs to be developed by the central bank.”

Arif Habib, chairman of Pakistani conglomerate Arif Habib Group, feels the financial close of some projects under CPEC has remained slow, adding to cost escalation and inefficiency.

Additionally, while CPEC brings with it a number of benefits for Pakistan, including cheaper power, Gwadar Port’s transit fees could have been higher, said Habib.

His comments come in the wake of reports last year that 91% of the revenue to be generated from the Gwadar Port would go to China with Pakistan bagging the remaining share for the next 40 years.

However, Ahsan Iqbal, Pakistan’s former minister for planning, development and reform, and the man who spearheaded CPEC negotiations with China during the previous government’s tenure, said a higher transit fees could make Gwadar Port uncompetitive. “If we increase the fees, the Chinese would increase the cost of port handling, which will make it uncompetitive,” said Iqbal in an emailed response to The Express Tribune. “No new concessions have been given to China in Gwadar. The Chinese were given the same treatment offered to the Singapore Port Authority for running Gwadar Port.

“Instead of increasing the fees, turnover should be increased to make the port an attractive destination.”

However, Iqbal agreed that some CPEC projects were facing delays due to fulfillment of procedural requirements. “They took time in securing NOCs and Environment Protection Agency clearances. (However) almost all priority energy projects have achieved financial close.” While projects under CPEC continue, the business community has also argued moving labour-intensive and export-based Chinese industries to Pakistan.

“The government could argue relocating Chinese industries to industrial zones in Pakistan,” said Habib, adding that the export-based companies could take advantage of various incentives.

Malik echoed the same view, but with words of caution. “Labour-intensive industries face a higher cost in western and eastern China. You get apparel-making industries to move to Pakistan as long as it is a win-win.

“We have to realise that any incentive offered under CPEC needs to result in a net increase – be it a net increase in jobs or foreign exchange reserves or a net increase in production. Simply getting Chinese industries to move and giving them incentives at the expense of present businesses will not benefit the country.”

Malik said the PTI is well-positioned to make its case. “The PTI remains a better organised party that understands business, and is well-informed.” The PBC chief said the combination of “astute leadership” and the fact that PTI will enjoy a stronghold in two of the four provinces and easy sailing in the third will augur well for its negotiations.

X Posted from the Pakistan Economic Stress Watch thread.

While the Mohammadden Terrorism Fomenting Islamic Republic of Pakistan finds no mention in the below graphic culled from Economic Times (IMF metric hints RBI has more ammunition to defend the rupee) being posted to show how precarious the foreign exchange reserves situation in Pakistan is with Pakistan even trailing much stressed Brotherly Momin 4.5 friend Turkey who is headed IMF's way. Thus among the BRICS India rounding to 2 decimal places is at 1.51 and trails Russia who are in a very sound position of 2.77. Turkey is a precarious 0.74 and the Mohammadden Terrorism Fomenting Islamic Republic of Pakistan is at 0.43.

The IMF states “Assessing Reserve Adequacy (ARA) dataset presents a new measure for assessing adequacy of reserve holdings”:

After Ganja, Imran Govt "Goes After " Dus Percenti

Zardari's lawyer denies non-bailable arrest warrants being issued for his client
Dawn
Aug 17, 2018
A banking court in Karachi on Friday issued non-bailable warrants of arrest against PPP co-chairman and former president Asif Ali Zardari in the fake bank accounts scam case, Radio Pakistan reported. ( Radio Pakistan is the mouthpiece of GOP !)
The court also issued non-bailable arrest warrants against other absconding suspects, including Nasser Abdullah Lootah, Aslam Masood, Nimr Majeed, Arif Khan, Adnan Javed, Mohammad Umair, Mohammad Iqbal Arain, Azam Wazir Khan, Zain Malik and Mustafa Zulqernain. While hearing the case relating to the money laundering probe, the court directed authorities to arrest and present Zardari and other suspects before it by September 4.
Dus Percenti and his family has been strangely silent over the election of the pseudo Pathan Imran. There is no love lost between the two. !
However, PPP spokesperson Farhatullah Babar issued a statement in which he quoted Zardari's counsel Farooq H. Naek as saying that no warrants against the former president have been issued.
In Pakistan, things are not as they seem to be ! And then Mr. Benazir Bhutto has "lots of experience" in these kind of things, having spend many years of his earlier life in Paki jails
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had declared Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur, along with 18 other suspects, as absconders in an interim charge sheet filed in the case. Talpur had, however, obtained a bail against her arrest. The fake accounts case revolves around a 2015 inquiry into suspicious transactions when 29 ‘benami’ accounts were identified, 16 of them in the Summit Bank, eight in the Sindh Bank and five in the United Bank Limited.
Seven individuals were found involved in suspiciously transacting Rs35 billion. Hussain Lawai, former chairman of the Pakistan Stock Exchange and a close aide of Zardari, Omni Group of Companies chairman Khawaja Anvar Majeed and his brother Ghani Majeed, and co-accused Taha Raza – head of the Summit Bank’s corporate unit – have been arrested in the case.
The FIA prosecutor had sought a 14-day remand of the suspects for investigation, saying they are accused of laundering billions of rupees through fake bank accounts. Farooq H. Naek, the counsel representing Majeed, opposed the plea for remand. After hearing both sides, the court approved a week-long extension in the remand.Naek said it was Zardari's discretion to decide whether he wants to join the investigation or not, adding that the former president has "always faced the law".Zardari is ready to cooperate with the FIA, he said.
The timing of the "investigation" coincides with the election of Imran Khan . So, it is obviously some sort of a political witch hunt against Zardari and the PPP Party . Just like it happened to Ganja Nawaz and his Muslim League Party ! Who is NOT corrupt in Pakiland ! When Imran Khan falls out of favour with Deep State , he also will be labeled as financially corrupt - and he will have a lot of explaining to do about the source of his wealth and oversees assets etc etc , not to mention the "donations" he claims to have received for his Cancer Hospital
Locked
