Haridasji, my pranam's and delighted to see you back. I am one of those who learned a lot about our progress and prowess in the field of N deterrence through your posts and images. I still recall your posts on health impact to Indian sailors who would be patrolling the sea portion of deterrence. I would love to hear your thoughts on now that we have multiple of those boats in water and patrolling the oceans for N. detterence and have things improved or are much bad ( same as you had earlier quoted). Would appreciate to see your inputs if you can.

Thanks.

SRBMs - Prithvi & Brahmos regiments or approx. no of missiles.
SAM's - Akash, Barak & QRSAM.

This is operational details. No one will be having this kind of info and anyone having the information, should not be disclosing it on public forums.

You can check publically available information about the orders placed for the various missiles and then estimate. Order details for missiles like Prithvi and Land based Brahmos will not be available. For Brahmos you might find the number of regiments raised, same also maybe for Prithvi, but it will not have absolute number of missiles. Also, for Prithvi no info about the version.

Just to clarify, I'm looking for publicly available info only. I fully understand that confidential data cannot be shared here. I know for e.g. the no of missiles a regiment should have in theory and how many regiments we are expected to raise. There is conflicting and sometimes dated info so I was hoping if someone would have more upto date info.

ndia is exploring the possibility of selling the BrahMos cruise missile to Indonesia, and a team from the Indo-Russian joint venture that makes the weapon system visited a state-run shipyard in Surabaya last year to assess the fitting of the missile on Indonesian warships, people familiar with developments said.Besides the BrahMos, India has offered to supply coastal defence radars and marine grade steel to Indonesia and to service the Russian-made Su-30 combat jets flown by the Indonesian air force as part of efforts to deepen bilateral defence and military cooperation, the people said.India has earlier held talks with the Vietnam government for the sale of the BrahMos, a supersonic cruise missile developed by an Indo-Russian joint venture set up in 1998. The Indian Navy inducted the missile on its frontline warships in 2005.Though India and Indonesia have not reached a final agreement on the sale of the BrahMos, the visit of the a team from the Indo-Russian company to the state-run PT PAL shipyard on the sidelines of the Indo Defence 2018 expo late last year was a significant step forward in efforts to sell the weapon system to a foreign country.“The BrahMos team was invited to visit the state-run ship-building enterprise and had a look at the Indonesian platform,” a person said. The inspection of the warships was focused on fitting the BrahMos system on them, the people cited above said.Though there has been “some traction” in India’s offer of coastal defence radars to Indonesia, matters were “more advanced in considering” the BrahMos system, the people added.
A group of MPs from the commission on defence, foreign and information affairs of Indonesia’s lower house of parliament had visited the BrahMos headquarters last year, the people said.“It is a good proposition to have deeper defence cooperation with India because it has advanced technology that it is both functional and economical,” the first person cited above said. “Indian technology is not as complicated as technology from the West as it is of good value for regional countries,” the person added.Commodore (retired) C Uday Bhaskar, director of the Society for Policy Studies, said: “It is significant if India is offering the BrahMos missile to Indonesia. It enhances the relevance of India’s military profile as a credible exporter of cruise missile technology.”

Konkurs-M. Going by the price and previous contracts I estimated 3500-4000 missiles.

not the sexy kit like FnF man portable but good rugged kit that just works.

cheen is not a war time threat. its peacetime where they slide in to nibble pieces of land where they are most dangerous

South Korean Air Defence System Beat Russian Tunguska-M1, Pantsir In Indian Trials

South Korean K30 Biho short range air defence system

Moscow is lobbying against a South Korean anti-missile and anti-aircraft defense system, the K30 Biho which beat two Russian competitors, the Tunguska-M1 and Pantsir in trials for an Indian procurement program. A South Korean publication, Joongang Daily reported last week that the bidding was first officially announced in 2013, and the candidate weapons were evaluated throughout 2015 and tested in 2017. The contract involves exporting 104 Biho systems, 97 ammunition carriers, 39 command vehicles, 4,928 missiles and 172,260 rounds of ammunition, bringing the contract’s total value to 3 trillion won ($2.66 billion). The K30 Biho was developed by Korea’s Agency for Defense Development in 2013 as a short range anti-aircraft and anti-missile system. In the bidding process, it beat out an upgraded Tunguska-M1 model built by the Russian state-owned defense company Almaz-Antey and the Pantsir missile system from the Russian KPB Instrument Design Bureau.

The K30 Biho was judged the most capable of dual purpose use as an anti-missile and anti-aircraft defense system, the publication said quoting unnamed sources in the Korean government. The report said that Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu expressed dissatisfaction with the decision on the sidelines of a military conference between the two countries Dec. 18. Shoygu reportedly told the Indians that the Indian military had not properly tested the weapon in a deliberate attempt to not buy arms from Russia, according to a source in the Korean government quoted by the publication. The Russians followed this up by sending an official request to the Indian Defense Ministry asking it to re-evaluate the bidding process. “The fact that its weapons were outgunned in the bidding must have come at a major shock to Russia, which prides itself as the leading manufacturer of combined defense systems,” the Korean official said. “We expect them to attempt to block this deal to the end.”

“Various pro-Russian forces within the Indian government are also throwing their weight behind a re-evaluation of the bidding process,” the unnamed source told the Korean publication. The Korean Defense Ministry and defense contractors have sent their own letters to the Indian Defense Ministry requesting that it streamline the contract negotiation process. The Korean government is also considering dispatching one of its officials to New Delhi to apply some pressure, the report added.

Considering we wrote a blank check to Russia for S-400 with no extensive trials and testing I love how they are complaining about this. Perhaps we should acknowledge and do the same for S-400 & Grigorivich deals.

Any comparative tests must be done in Indian conditions.Winner on technical merit should be given the first peck.
Often more than one system meets min. parameters required by the service in Q.There may be a much lower almost equiv. system which may be favoured on cost grounds.

It was evaluated by the US Army at White Sands Missile Range in late 2017 along with a bunch of other options for its interim Mobile SHORAD and SHORAD requirements.

Is this a standard import-giri deal with 30% offsets, or is there some local assembly? why not have a Make-1 or even strategic partnership for this?

What secret? I said that in the Arihant thread after PM declared the deterrent patrol.
Now its true no one but Indians want to know all details of deterrent patrol as they are brought up to believe pappu logic.

^ I have searched Twitter for the K4 pic.

It's the same old rehashed pic from last year, and even displayed on brf, IIRC.

The poster claims open hatch supposedly shows only single missile, so must be K4, as 3 X K-15 fit together.

Problem is, with the magnification and pixels together, cannot make out nuthin. No overwhelming proof.

We still don't know:
- wat K 4 looks like
- shape of nose cone
- whether it has been tested. ( This I speculate has been done, as the project leader has got an award from Drdo. India Today speculated on 10 tests, but they are not the best source. They got the shape of Arihant wrong, showing some graphic looking like an Akula SSN. They were also totally blind on Arighat. Their K-4 graphic looks like Tintin's Moon Rocket. So, who knows?)

Our best guess estimates are the old 2005 ppt slides from Drdo, and Haridas ji's analysis on the smaller K-15 warhead shape extrapolated to the K-4. This is most logical / sensible info to think abt.

We still don't know jack.
